Staff are kind and friendly, masks are enforced which is a bit annoying but other wise you can still play the instruments etc.
Andy has been my guitar instructor for close to two years. His easy going manner and teaching style is second to none. I went from never strumming a chord to playing in front of family and friends. All thanks to Andy’s patience, simple methods, and knowing exactly where you need improvement. You need an instructor – he’s your guy!!
The staff at George’s is fantastic to say the least. All down to earth, helpful, and have become good friends. My experience at George’s is rated a 10 out of 5 Stars!! I look forward to going there every week for my lessons and talking to the team. Highly recommended!!
I have utilized both purchases, orders and service at the JAX Beach store. I have always received professional and friendly service each and every time I have visited the store. All of my music-related items are purchased there. Mike Jones has always been available upon request and always personal helpful to my needs.
As a final note of interest, I am an older customer. I played professionally in the 50’s through the early 80’s. I don’t play much anymore with the exception of a variety of jam sessions which occur back at my home in Tallahassee. The point of bringing up this issue is that even though I’m not entirely up on today’s music related technology, my needs are still met at Georges Music in Jacksonville Beach.
Great local store, I go there when I need strings or something really quick.
Not enough stock
Quality gear, polite reps.
Not Good
Will not come back here as long as masks are required.
Well, this store USED to be a great place to shop at. What a shame. Apparently the OP store is closed so I drove 45 minutes to the beaches location to exchange a microphone I have thats under warranty. I was told that the companies warranty policies have changes. Whats ridiculous is that NONE of the changes I was told are reflected on the company’s website. Under the location for the Orange Park store they have the beaches address listed. What a horrible buisness. Not following the warranty under on your own buisness page in order to swindle me into buying a new microphone. I look forward to this store shutting down and hopefully getting a useful music store to replace it. Very clear that this location has no interest in getting customers to return. Dont go here. Its not what it used to be.
3. TR Music & Voice Lessons
Address: 440 Ocean Blvd, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233 , Neptune Beach , Florida , United States
I also love how family oriented ocma is with the family discount– my brother took drum lessons, my sister took bass lessons, my dad took guitar and bass, and my other sister took guitar and voice. They do shows at places like house of blues and private formal recitals as well. I’m overall very impressed with this place!
TR Music & Voice Lessons offers so many recitals throughout the year allowing the students to have some performance experience and most of the students can’t wait to sign up for the next recital! The school has definitely grown during their 10 years in business and they’re just getting busier!
TR Music and Voice Lessons offers music education for a range of instruments. We truly value the effort Mr. Jackson puts into making each drum lesson an experience, for our son, Max.
4. Cypress Recording Studios
Address: 120 5th St N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 , Neptune Beach , Florida , United States
I just completed a session on Friday, March 15 at Cypress and, as a singer and song writer, I was extremely pleased and impressed by the professionalism of everyone there. The staff, studio musician and producer were unbelievably committed to providing a great outcome and spent a great deal of extra effort getting the sound “right”. I cannot adequately express my appreciation for these folks. They definitely go the extra mile and I love the outcome. A special THANK YOU to Dave, Mike and Linda. You are the best!!!
Hello there, I’ve recorded with you before. I was the 15 year old girl in the gospel group “The Sensational Messengers” I had such a great experience recording at Cypress records and I am now working on a new project as a Solo Artist. I would love to come record some music! I have dreams and goals and I’m 100% sure you could help me with them! Excited to hear back from you.
It was a great experience! Thank you David and Linda! We love how Meg’s CD came out and we appreciated the coaching as well.
I recorded a demo at Cypress recording studios in 1986 while I was in the Navy. Even though the studio was neat it was somewhat dated even back then. I found the cassette of my original demo the other day and decided to come back around to write a nice note about Cypress – the sound quality was incredible – the microphones and clean sound are excellent (gotta love analog). I still enjoy the sound of that demo today even though I wasn’t such a great musician back then… Hope everything is well – good luck!
No backup singing, used an intern to record, very unprofessional.
Absolutely horrible & rude customer service when I simply called to find out about their rates.
I called to Ask for prices and was immediately greeted in a very rude manner I don’t sound White on the phone so maybe that was the cause for the attitude She asked me where I was from And wanted to figure out if I was her own race or not when she found out I was not as I was telling her about my project she abruptly interrupted me and Said”well we charge 150$ an hour and I don’t think you can Handle that” And Hung Up when I’m already used to paying at least 100$ an hour. I Would never in my life recommend this place to anyone I’m sure there is other great Studios Here in Florida and ones that don’t base their prices on what race you are .and don’t try to write a reply Because nothing justifies How Rude You were .I am completely disappointed because all the great reviews are what made me call your studio in the first place.
Not only is every instructor here an amazingly talented musician, but they are all excellent teachers too. The students (including myself) move at their own pace and the instructors inspire incredible levels of confidence in the students. I came here to learn a piano piece for my talent for a pageant, and they definitely inspired me to stay and continue to grow my piano skill!
An Amazing Music School!!! My son was a vocal student at Morris Music Academy for years. His voice coaches took him from raw talent to vocal musician with a four octave range. MMA even gave him the opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall which was a once in a lifetime experience. I HIGHLY recommend this music school.
The owner is a man of integrity and an amazing musician/teacher. I definitely recommend!
8. Southern Grounds & Co.
Address: 200 First St, Neptune Beach, FL 32266 , Neptune Beach , Florida , United States
Did you hear? Soutern Grounds just opened shop at the Jacksonville Airport. My favorite is the Hummus plate no pita extra veggies. It is DEE-licious! Who knew Radish would go so good with Hummus. I had the Steel Cut Oats today with fresh fruit it came with cinnamon and sugar on the side.
Great local spot. Cheap wine, friendly staff ,good food ,great atmosphere… what more can you ask for? To be honest the coffee’s not my favorite, but,I still go here at least once a week.
Cold brew is great among the other coffees! Be careful with the food. Bruschetta was terrible… basically stale bread soaked in olive oil and topped with cold cheese and a soggy tomato.
Pricey for what it is. Coffee isn’t that great.
If you don’t mind receiving your “hot” beverages 15 minutes or more AFTER your food is served, then this spot is for you. Took some out-of-town guests to SG over the weekend. What a miserable experience. When beverages finally arrived, they were all cold. Simply incomprehensible how poorly this place is operated and managed. Staff never returns to check on your experience–likely because they don’t care. Fortunately, much better alternatives exist nearby.
No way
I really loved this place, but it is true one “bad” thing ruins everything. Drove 40 minutes, paid parking, it was 8:45 knowing they close at 9:00. I know sometimes they close early but they put the sign , or lock the doors. No sign, doors were open, they couldn’t sell me a piece of lavender pecan bar, I told them there’s still 15 minutes, I just paid for parking, I don’t need anything prepared I just really want to buy one pecan bar and the answer was still NO.
Thanks Southern Grounds.
9. Boril Ivanov Piano Studio
Address: 1727 1st St N, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 , Neptune Beach , Florida , United States
As a native I’ve seen tons of growth but Beaches Town Center holds true to a a realaxing seaside community.
Trying something new in The Local. Breakfast, brunch, and dinner served. As the name would imply some local craft beers on tap. Nice outdoor seating. Had breakfast sandwiches that were excellent.
Nice shops and easy shopping.
Would give it 5 stars but parking SUCKS!!!
It was clean and had nice restaurants. The only downside that I could see was parking. If you don’t live walking distance away from the town center then parking will be a hassle.
Love the place
Takes a fair amt of time to locate a parking pay station. You dont get 30 min of free parking any more. Only had 50 minutes I noticed when I checked the receipt
Decimated due to corona
Not enough parking. Very crowded on weekends. Don’t like having to go in and out of stores especially on extremely hot days or if it’s raining. Much prefer The Avenues Mall because you can stay in the air conditioning and the weather doesn’t bother you, also you can park in a covered garage. The Town Center is a good area but they don’t provide enough parking and the traffic is always congested. It’s gotten way too big without thought of roadways in and out, parking and all the congestion. I think this is a mall that the developers are more interested in all the money they might be able to make as opposed to making it easy and convenient on shoppers.
12. Yoga Mix
Address: 810 3rd St #A, Neptune Beach, FL 32266 , Neptune Beach , Florida , United States
I absolutely love this studio. This is one of my second homes since moving to Jacksonville. The teachers are phenomenal, the classes are grounding, and the studio itself is so welcoming and unique. I drive 30 minutes multiple times a week just to make it to a class! Thank you to this whole team for cultivating such a wonderful community.
Attention to the particular needs of each person.
Yoga Mix is a great find! Fabulous warm classes with a really nice space! Plus cute things in the gift shop! Had the nicest vinyasa class with Patrick! I’m coming back.
The instructors and staff are incredible people. They truly care about your experience and that you have a good time. My favorite instructor is Reid Murphy. She teaches a Mixed Flow Yoga class every Wednesday from 6:30-7:30. I would definitely recommend taking her class. She is amazing at articulating what the moves are and what you should be focusing your energy and thought towards. She also plays the guitar and sings at the end of each class. She has a beautiful voice and is amazing on the guitar. The only reason Yoga Mix received a 9 is because of the price. The memberships are pricy, especially for lower-income people. But if you factor in all the expenses to make the studio run and how much goes to each instructor, the price does make sense. I would definitely recommend going to Yoga Mix and seeing Miss Reid Murphy!
Nice people and facilities, however their packages expire after 6 months which I found out the hard way. That’s a bummer. Not a great option for someone who isn’t a full time yogi.
I really want to give this place 5 stars after my first class with an amazing teacher Lauren, but as someone from out of town that doesn’t live here I biked there this morning for a class that thought was at 930 and got there at 920- it actually started at 915 and they wouldn’t let me take it. Working as a yoga and fitness Insturctor I always let ppl come in especially if they’re new or out of town so I was definitely very upset and the you g women I was talking to was very cold and not friendly at all!!! So it read really a bad turn from my experience yesterday. If you go here try Lauren’s class but I think those women in the morning are very very rude and lack any kind of customer Service and welcoming warmth I expect from a yoga studio. Maybe try a different approach with the small studio you’re running! Good luck
Auto messages don’t seemed to be monitored by a human unless you bring this up. Twice I was ignored responding to messages the studio sent me.
Also the booking calendar doesn’t clearly prompt when no classes are available on a day when the studio is closed when you select that date. It should show no classes, not the next days classes. It just lists classes for the following day. Hmmmm. UI/UX improvement opportunity. As an out of towner, I don’t follow social media accounts for far away studios and am not able to stop by within two weeks of purchasing a drop-in class, especially if I had to change flights unexpectedly. Was surprised there was no refund after this instance.
String Theory Music did a wonderful job with communication and coordinating the music on my wedding day. They are organized and detail oriented. I highly recommend String Theory Music, they are talented and trustworthy of making your ceremony sound beautiful!
I worked with Allison at String Theory for several months in preparation for my daughter’s out of town wedding. Allison was by far the most detailed and responsive vendor I worked with! We even needed a special piece of music that wasn’t on their repertoire for the walk down the aisle and she was able to have that composed for us to make this day even more special. Allison stayed in communication with me and I just knew that hiring String Theory was a great decision. Planning a wedding from a distance includes many challenges but she made the process seamless.
The day of the wedding I met Allison in person for the first time as she and her 3 musicians were setting up to play but it felt like I was talking to an old friend. They played all of the music that the bride and groom had chosen and every song was beautiful and made the outdoor ceremony feel so elegant! I recommend them highly if you are looking for string music for your wedding ceremony or any other event for that matter. You will not regret the decision to hire String Theory!
We used String Theory Music for our wedding ceremony on December 3rd and I am so happy that we did! My husband was a little wary about not just using the DJ for our ceremony, but ended up being so happy that we chose them instead! We did a violin and cello duet and they were absolutely incredible! Allison Marshall was always super responsive to my emails and made great suggestions for songs when we needed some! We requested a song from them that was not on their list and they had no issue learning it for us. We did a first look before the ceremony and could hear them practicing in the background which was absolutely incredible. While the ceremony was beautiful, I kind of blacked out so I am glad we were able to enjoy them on our own during the first look. An added bonus that I was not expecting! Overall, we definitely recommend String Theory Music! It elevated our ceremony to a whole new level and made it even more special and beautiful! Our guests had nothing but great things to say about them!

Address: 941 11th Ave S, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 , Neptune Beach , Florida , United States
I would highly recommend this record store. We try to visit record stores in every state we visit to add to our collection of vinyl. This was by far the most fun experience we have had. He has the most interesting collection. He was also very kind to my children who love vinyl just like us. Some folks are worried they will not care for the records well as they look. He treated them just the same as he treated us. He took time to show them any record he had up high and tell them stories. We loved his stories and all the conversations we had. We will be back any time we visit this area again.
Great selection well organized in a nice location at the beach. Joe is a good guy, go see him!!
Great selection, quality pressings, fair prices.. will definitely be back again.
16. Island Girl Wine and Cigar Bar
Address: 108 First St, Neptune Beach, FL 32266 , Neptune Beach , Florida , United States
You can never go wrong, great cigars and even better people.
Nice place to go in Atlantic beach if you like cigars.
Great little place to visit.
I usually love comming here but today I felt a bit like I shouldn’t have even stopped through. I just wanted a few drinks on my only day off, the bartender started off being really nice, but because someone else did something wrong (lit a cigar without paying for it) I felt like she took it out on me. Not sure if or when ill be back.
Not the greatest. Only one bartender was nice. I Will not go back there.
It stinks
Bartender was rude, immature, and disrespectful. Was obvious that she was only interested in flirting with the single male customers. Had no interest in providing good service to any parties containing couples or females.

The Bookmark, in Neptune Beach, is a compact beachside bookstore whose collection isn’t precious or too well heeled to be inviting. There’s just enough of everything for you to find something that fits your reading needs.
Super friendly staff and a great selection of books! I appreciated their mask policy which they were very kind about enforcing. A bookstore willing to follow evidence-based medicine to help its customers and employees stay safe is a good sign of what’s inside.
I didn’t find what I wanted but I got something that I was very happy with
Nice variety
Quaint, family owned bookstore. Very helpful staff. There are many events for both children and adults. Well worth a look.
Masks are not required in the state of Florida. Was really looking forward to coming in
Paid for parking, but as soon as I entered, I was told I needed to comply with the mask mandate. I politely mentioned I have a medical condition that makes it dangerous for me to wear a mask. They quickly told me I could just wait outside and they would bring me what I need. This defeats the whole purpose of browsing for books. I am already fully vaccinated, but they didn’t even ask to see proof of vaccination so that i’d be allowed inside. Glad this happened before I purchased anything; I don’t want to support a business that is more concerned with COVID than other heath conditions. I am truly disappointed, and will never return.
Please update your store hours on google. We drove a long ways only to see a closed on sundays sign
