I took a guitar in to get some work done on it and some new strings and some accessories. I am very pleased with the results Randy made in such a short time. Very knowledgeable. Will be returning
If you are looking to learn to play guitar, look no further. Randy is the guy to see. He is very informative and shares his knowledge with his students. His shop is filled with all kinds of guitars, banjos, ukuleles. Stop by and check it out
Very nice pleasant atmosphere.
Selection consists of mainly guitars, basses and a few country oriented instruments. Limited selection.
Great store
Not a super big store with lots of options but they have the things I need
Biggest piece of trash you’ll ever meet in your life.
5. Palmer Music Company
Address: 1131 Front St, Conway, AR 72032 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Vast selection of high quality instruments. Very friendly staff. Pleasant shopping experience. Highly recommend.
From teaching instrument and voice lessons to students of all ages to offering a wide selection of musical instruments and audio equipment, Palmer Music Co. is ready to help anyone looking to enhance or develop their musical talent. We’re fortunate to have this local business in Conway, Arkansas.
Amazing customer service….will definitely be back ❤️
My guitar was in for repairs for about 4 months. Almost no communication was provided about status of the repair work. It’s understandable with Covid making it difficult to have parts shipped, but the lack of adequate communication was uncomfortably disappointing. I don’t blame the young individual who was working on my guitar, but rather leadership who should have provided direction on appropriate and timely customer service communication. It doesn’t matter to me that it would have taken considerable time for repairs. But the lack of communication stating that due to a backlog in parts, and it was just a waiting game, would have been enough. A 30 second phone call every couple of weeks or so to advise a customer that no progress has been made is better than nothing…it would have been enough to have left my guitar there for months longer. The ironic thing about all this is that I really like the store and the people at Palmer Music, so I will most likely continue to purchase my music supplies from them and I hope my experience there was a one-off….
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
Guy who owns/runs it is really friendly and cool. a better place to buy than Guitar Center
This is the best store ever !!! Everyone is so nice and helpful, I LOVE this store!!!!!! My daughter bought me a Fender Guitar here and a Peavey Amp and they went out of their way to help me!!! I will be a lifelong customer!!!
Nice enough folks. The store seens really bare compared to what it was like 2 years ago..

7. Renown Music
Address: 104 W F Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
No better place to do business. Purchased several guitars here and had repair work done on vintage instruments. Work is better than factory. If you have any doubts you are welcome to see what he has done on my instruments.
Awesome store, my son has been taking lessons here for a while and loves it. The staff is great and they take time with each customer. Highly recommend for music equipment amd lessons
Brandons is such a great guitar tech. And hes also a Great person.

9. BridgeTHAGAPMuzik Entertainment
Address: 361 Departee Creek Ln Rd, Thida, AR 72165 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Definitely one of the neatest and most overlooked places in Arkansas, if you love history of blues and rock n roll this is definitely a place you want to visit! It’s like a rock museum with a small selection of guitars for sale as well as picks, cables, strings, all your basic guitarist needs.
Unique place, well worth a stop if it’s open. The place houses an unusual assortment of musical memorabilia and items for sale One part Museum, one part music store
Always have loved this place ever since it opened years ago…
Interesting place not a store as much as a museum
11. Lootchase Entertainment
Address: 2709 Thaxton Ave, Newport, AR 72112 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Robert has worked on my tubas for years and I’m always happy with the results. Their entire crew knows what they’re doing.
These guys know their stuff! Prices are reasonable if you want your instrument fixed properly.
Very helpful and informative
Did excellent work on my old trombone, very nice people!
I came in with a horn to have repairs done to it. I needed to have my saxophone’s neck recorked. I needed additional repairs, but above all needed the recorking. The repairman came up, looked at the instrument brand and said he could do nothing for me because if he broke something, he would have to make a part. I thanked him and walked out. I thought by the ratings that this would be a location with skilled craftsmen, but instead feel like it’s people prone to mistakes so they can only work on standard brands and not all instruments. I’d consider calling before coming. They are the only place around for quite a distance and driving over 60 miles to be treated like this felt very awful!
14. Todd The Music Guy
Address: 209 S Main St, Berryville, AR 72616 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Had a Gretsch that needed attention. My inontation was messed up, my ¼” port was loose, my neck was bowed, my pick up switch was crackling and cutting out. Seriously nervous to have anyone look at it. (Had bad experiences with ppl ive met saying “oh i can do that”, but mess it up worse than it was). Anyways, he had done a full service on my guitar. He had the inontation fixed, my switch cleaned, the ¼” port tight, the truss rod adjusted, new strings, the fret board conditioned, and had the whole body cleaned in like an hour an a half. Super super impressed. Total service work on my guitar plus strings was $35. Highly recommend to anyone needing their equipment serviced. Super cool.
I don’t ever write reviews, but Todd is amazing! Went in with my dad to get his bass looked at, and he was super helpful. So we went and bought a bass from him, and as I expected we got amazing service. He’s the only music shop I’ll go to. A customer for life. HIGHLY recommend Todd!!
Wow! Todd is a fantastic guy. He knows his trade, enthusiastic about his craft, sincere, and honest. My go to guitar place.
Todd was super nice. I found the prices to be a little high, but a man has to make a living, i guess.
The selection of guitars and other stringed instruments was great. I’m like a kid in a candy store!
15. Guitar Center
Address: 12315 Chenal Pkwy A, Little Rock, AR 72211 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Love bringing my daughter to get her musical equipment from the Guitar Center. Staff is always friendly and will go the extra mile to help you with any problems you may have or answer any and all questions.
As soon as we walked in the door the staff was very helpful! The store had exactly what we needed plus things that will keep you looking for hours. So many instruments and accessories. My kids had fun as well!
Friendly staff and lots of cool toys!
Nice store with a lot of good people to help you. With beginner level to performance level. Imo
Rude people
Absolutely terrible first-time experience with this particular center. Staff member was very rude and lazy. Will not come back if I can avoid it!
Lacking! And not tied to the community, it screams SMALL TOWN MUSIC store and not Guitar Center
16. Big Event Music
Address: 149 E Grand Ave, Hot Springs, AR 71901 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Great music store. Very helpful. Seems they pretty much have it all.
Never been here but I’m gonna rate it 5 stars because I’m nice 🙂 lol
Also, do you guys take barely used instruments?
I have a snare drum I’ve had for two years and I don’t use it and so I’m looking for a place to sell it to.
“BIG EVENT MUSIC” store! A must visit if you would like to learn how to play an instrument, rent musical equipment and/or purchase a musical instrument of your very own! Brent and Doug are two of the kindest, most knowledgeable individuals who totally LOVE music and know what music MEANS to their customers.
Guitar lessons, and much much more abound in this twelve year old well established business near downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Awesome place
Very Helpful! Thank you for your service to our community.
My one stop shop for all my musical needs. You can also record tracks. Awesome place.
I bought everything from guitar cases to a JBL top of line PA from them before I found out they are totally BOGUS! Sold me used merchandise as new, then got an attitude when I called them on it! Cuss me out when you’re a thiefing liar? I don’t think so! I wouldn’t buy a guitar pick from these people!!!
Not enough inventory
Holy cow. I didn’t even know this place was open until I went inside. Not very inviting and the whole building needs renovations. Seemed very trashy. Almost made me feel like the items there have less value just because of how badly ran the building is.
17. Shuffield Music Company
Address: 610 Main St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Good folks here, it is a pleasure to deal with Paul he is a kind hearted person and eager to help, he also is a great musician and knows his way around the guitar.
Great store with terrific stock and great customer service!
I’ve been regularly visiting Paul and his shop for the past couple of years. The guys are always super nice and they’ve got an awesome selection of great instruments. They carry essentials like strat-like guitars and acoustics but they always have some really unique stuff on the wall as well.
Great local music store. We have shopped here for years.
Not to bad
Good place to buy guitars, don’t ask them to fix anything you own uness you want it damaged.
Rude
18. Arkansas Musicworks
Address: 2400 SE J St, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
These folks are great. As a middle age novice I anticipated a much more difficult experience figuring out an introduction to guitar but they are very approachable and accessible and generally very pleasant to work with. Highly recommended.
Very helpful folks when not sure where to find the items we were looking for. Good prices as well!!
Needed string lock inserts for my Floyd Rose. Received quality (Fender genuine parts) product. Shipped fast and price was great. Thanks!
Great place
Wonderful tutors
Took music lessons here once. Paid for 3 lessons and only got two. The instructor cancelled the last one and said he would reschedule but never did
Went through amazon to purchase a Dimarzio super distortion pick up. The sent me an openend plexi with a generic p/u. Wiring diagram did not match the p/u received. The intent was to have a 5 split shaping for the p/u. I got a pick up with no hot wire or series ground. What a bunch of con artists.
Case And bow is falling apart. I wouldn’t recommend musicworks to anybody. Complete rip off. I got a 15 inch viola and within a year I had to get rid of it, because it was poorly made.
I bought a Zero Glide zero fret nut replacement through Amazon, but it was fulfilled and shipped by Arkansas Musicworks. I bought it 8/3/18. It is now 8/12 and there has been no shipment. Amazon emailed that the seller had not shipped within the time frame allotted and that I could cancel the order, follow up directly with Arkansas Musicworks, or whatever. I cancelled and will buy elsewhere. Never a peep out Arkansas Musicworks. Small item but they totally dropped the ball. Now I wouldn’t trust them for anything I need or am in a rush for.
19. Joyful Noise Guitar Central
Address: 116 E Main St Suite 2, Clarksville, AR 72830 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Pawner is Very nice and knowledgeable about everything guitars.
Dolan is a great guy and his store Joyful Noise is the best around.
Quick story, I recently went to a small guitar shop in fort smith and was treated completely the opposite. The owner was 1 guy who works on guitars, sells used junk at high prices with an attitude to boot and he was the worst, rudest and nasty music store owner one could ever meet. I wont give his name but he could take a tip or a few million from Dolan, cus he cares for his customers!
Thanks again Dolan I definitely will be back for sure.
Very kind gentlemen is the owner and he is always trying to help someone. God loving man. Goes out of his way to help, especially with children. Good prices too.
Was not open
20. Valley Piano Co
Address: 3515 W Main St, Russellville, AR 72801 , Newark , Arkansas , United States
Great little store with lots of goodies and great service
Great place
Great people, a very old store
I went into to buy a guitar. Very small selection
Lots of sheet music and DVDs but it is all on the computer today. Wonderful people. I wish them well!
My visit was to test the integrity of an electric guitar I had. Spoke to the guy behind the counter. (The one with the gray streaked goatee). Told him I was preparing to sell it via Facebook, and all I want to do is see if it sounds as it should. He said it was ok I was like great thanks. The buyer was from outta town and was shopping for guitar supplies. She had just bought amp still needed a cord possibly more. Asked her to meet up there since she was just down the road. She wanted to go in do to the rain. Instantly he started ranting that he’s a business man a professional and I was shady for what I had done. I was very polite. My reply ( I’m sorry I brought you a customer sure she meet up with me to buy a guitar for cheap but she still may need something) she was there for his childish act. ( she replied I do need a cord) He didn’t even bother to respond to her. He looks at me says someone smells bad like cigarettes… Wow 0 stars for your sir. Where’s your public relations at. Your welcome for that sell.
