I just bought a mic stand and the keyboard stand. I love the service. 100% highly recommend everyone to purchase from this store.
Always great for guitar maintenance and sales. My go to………
Great staff, very helpful and worth the drive from Missouri
We bought a guitar here for our son a couple weeks back. One guy was way too salesy and talked too much but I like supporting local so we bought one.
Firstly, this shop provides great service on guitars, setups and string changes. But beware of purchasing a guitar that is not currently hanging on their shelf. For example, the Fender American Professional II Strat, comes in 9 different colors. If you want a color that isn’t hanging on their wall, they will offer to get it for you, but it will be considered a “special order” and not eligible to be returned. This is an odd policy since they are an authorized Fender dealer. If you order the guitar direct from Fender, or Sweetwater, or any other online retailer, the guitar is eligible for return no questions asked. So essentially, trying to support a small shop will eliminate any guarantees offered by the manufacturer. Understand, I realize a small shop has limitations and must do what’s best for their bottom line. However, it was never communicated to me “hey if I order this guitar for you, it’s unreturnable.” The thought never crossed my mind to ask, since the item I ordered was a stock offering from Fender, nothing special or custom about it. It’s extremely surprising that a Fender dealer is not able to provide the same customer satisfaction policies that are in place by Fender themselves. Most of the guitars hanging on the walls are mid-tier or entry level guitars, so if you want something better, and you want the peace of mind to return it if you’re not happy with it, then I suggest looking elsewhere. If you need a great setup on your guitar, ReMix can do it.
Friendly’s staff knows equipment.
Didn’t like the guy’s attitude or the prices. I probably won’t be back.
Love this place but couldn’t find what I was looking for.
The old guy was nice and got a good deal on my Boss PS 6 but the 2 employees or malinngerers.
5. Arkansas Musicworks
Address: 2400 SE J St, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
Friendly staff and has a great selection of assortment at good prices
I ordered an Earvana drop-in shelf nut for Fender strat style nut slot. The piece arrived quickly and I’m a happy customer. I wish Musicworks was a bit closer to KC! I’d love to check it out in person
Always have what I need
There was a guy there and knew a lot about guitars and help me out with a old guitar I had he was very nice to me
Nice place the staff was really helpful. A little small.
MW is a great place to get music & supplies. Staff are helpful…
I ordered Gemeinhardt Flute (2SP) on amazon at this store on September 22nd but I waited until September 28th when I got an email from amazon saying they didn’t get a response from Arkansas Musicworks.I have waited 1 week and now you have just told me I cannot receive my order. why don’t you tell me sooner. I placed this order for my child so my child has for her class. and now my child doesn’t have to study. So how much longer will my child have to wait.If you don’t have one please cancel my order so I can buy it somewhere else.
I am really disappointed with your service. I have been your regular customer for many years but I have never been so disappointed. I need an explanation.I suggest people not buy at this store because their customer care is not good
Do not honor trade in value. Poor customer service.
The manager/owner with the flat cap and black/grey beard couldn’t care less about customer satisfaction. He tries to rush customers into buying equipment, and is extremely rude to you if you don’t buy something right off the bat. I’ve witnessed this every time I’ve been in the store. I would highly recommend seeking a different music store with a competent manager that doesn’t solely care about taking your money. He is unpleasant to be around and lacks simple business concepts. Bottom line, there are plenty other music stores in NW Arkansas that will prioritize your satisfaction — don’t waste your time here.
6. Saied Music Co
Address: 2880 Point Cir, Fayetteville, AR 72704 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
I’ve bought two instruments for my daughter here. Quality instruments, fair prices, easy to do business with.
Really nice people and great selection!
The repair guys are always fantastic!
Perfect place for valve oil, slide grease and stuff like that. They have somebody who speaks in spanish which is also a plus.
Loved this business. Welcoming people, warm. ❤
Do not let them store your debit card on file. I have an unauthorized charge on my account. ONLY PAY THEM THROUGH THE WEBSITE, NOT OVER THE PHONE.
Pretty great selection of instruments, however I felt extremely awkward with the staff and felt like my questions were intrusions. You could chalk this up to me just being anxious, but I would have much more appreciated an employee who could recommend stuff to me, and willing to help me find what I’m looking for. I’ll be going to A different shop to get what I need
When I got there I was excited to be buying a ukulele something I’ve been wanting since I was little and when I asked how much taxes were because $82 up from the $54 seemed outrageous the man said idk and didn’t even check it just took an extra $21 and when I was asking questions about other instruments he had. No information literally making me. Still waiting on the money to be back in my account had to go to bed hungry tonight
7. PhLip Productions
Address: Harrison, AR 72601 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
The instructors there are amazing.. my boyfriend and his three kids get lessons there… Preston runs a great business !
Want to play a new instrument?
The Instructors are the best, kind hearted and very helpful.
And for repairs, the luthiers are ready, able, and very “attention to detail” oriented. I have had some repairs completed and always had the best outcome. I encourage everyone to come check them out:)
Knowledgeable, kind, and easy to talk to. Will definitely be back.
My guitar was in for repairs for about 4 months. Almost no communication was provided about status of the repair work. It’s understandable with Covid making it difficult to have parts shipped, but the lack of adequate communication was uncomfortably disappointing. I don’t blame the young individual who was working on my guitar, but rather leadership who should have provided direction on appropriate and timely customer service communication. It doesn’t matter to me that it would have taken considerable time for repairs. But the lack of communication stating that due to a backlog in parts, and it was just a waiting game, would have been enough. A 30 second phone call every couple of weeks or so to advise a customer that no progress has been made is better than nothing…it would have been enough to have left my guitar there for months longer. The ironic thing about all this is that I really like the store and the people at Palmer Music, so I will most likely continue to purchase my music supplies from them and I hope my experience there was a one-off….
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
9. Guitar Center
Address: 160 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
Great staff and good selection! In and out with what i needed!
Great store. Employees are knowledgeable and helpful. Some of these guys have been helping me with gear since the 90’s via Ben Jack’s old store and I trust them a lot.
Good place, friendly people. They could use some extra help this time of the year.
Staff seemed knowledgeable also had plenty of merchandise for all your musical needs.
I like to be able to go to a music store and have the salesperson hover over me. They handed me the guitar and said they would be back later. Kudos . The only problem which wasn’t that serious, but could be a great help. The strings on both upper-end guitars were old and in need of a change. Hence four stars.
The place was dark and had a strange smell. The service was slow, and when I tried to get lessons, my instructor sucked! He didn’t actually teach me anything, and I just felt this condescending tone. Like, if you’re going to get a job, make it about something you actually like!
Dont get the pro coverage, it is a scam. They did not cover a midi keyboard with a broken key.
They told me they buy guitars then I bring in my new guitar to them to check it out and the guitar was never played since new and they broke the volume knob on my guitar and then after that they will not buy it after braking it or even offer to fix what they broke they are scando and my guitar was sold at $499 and they offered me $52 if wasn’t broke when I brought in to them it was broke because of them I would not recommend them to any one and if the big guycomes from
back room leave asap because he will abuse your guitar and brake it I am reporting them to corporate office and attorney general of Arkansas too and I will not be back there every again too
10. Meteor Guitar Gallery
Address: 128 W Central Ave, Bentonville, AR 72712 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
This place is awesome..went and watched my favorite band play here..I love the character of an old theatre…
An Awesome venue, great people. The show was unbelievable.
Nice tiny venue for small scale events. Seating on the balcony is a better option if you want clearer sound. Restrooms are right beside the stage which is little odd. Staff is very helpful.
Great prices and management
Had a blast at an event here. Big open space in the back.
it’s alright. selling broken guitars for the pieces they’re asking is outrageous, though.
Worst experience with a music store ever! Lack of knowledge. Limited amount of guitar strings. Just terrible experience first and last time there!
Canceled concert and never got refund
11. Musical Elegance
Address: 993 Co Rd 601, Berryville, AR 72616 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
Very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend for anything musical…especially the ones that have every one else stumped.
I got my ukulele and it works great
Great people They can make violins and guitars ,etc. Too cool
Drove by & stopped because I’m new to the area and was looking for a music store. I’m a new drummer, so I was only curious about their drum supplies. Sadly, they had very little drum stuff, with only a handful of used cymbals for sale on display that I could try out.
The few drum sets they had were used, in bad condition & were stacked (not on stands or with heads on them). So, I was a bit disappointed.
Store looked a bit old, dirty & run down. The two guys working behind the counter were busy chatting with regular customers, but did welcome me when I entered the store. They were pleasant enough (which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2). Wish they had more quality drum stuff to offer.
This is one of only a handful of places in the River Valley you can buy instruments and accessories from. It’s a place I can drop in quickly for new strings or sticks. They offer some set-up/repair services from entry to intermediate difficulty. Keep to the kids close (or at the house), as various instruments and/or parts are laying around in some areas of the sales floor, making for somewhat treacherous terrain and unclear pricing. Staff are generally friendly and helpful, though you may have to approach them directly for help. I prefer this myself. Glad they’re here.
Nice enough staff. Lots of good inventory.
Hate it I could not find a clarinet ,:(
Dropped a guitar off for the owner to look at. He told me over the phone he’d give $150 for it and only a few hours later when I came in to get the money he prints me a ticket off and hands me $100. I reminded him that wasn’t what we agreed on and all he said was “that’s all I can do unless you want me to undo the transaction”. Not good business in my opinion. He lost a customer over 50 bucks. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
And now he’s calling me a liar. This isn’t some story I made up when I was bored, it actually happened. Remember the guitar was dropped off so it could be appraised. I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but this one was earned.
Dropped my guitar off before Christmas was told it would be ready 2nd week of January. Called 3rd week was told not yet. Called 1st week of February was told it was being repaired. Called 4th week was told it would be ready today or tomorrow. Still not ready. Called March 2nd was told still not ready had not started on it had no idea when they would start on it or when it would be ready. Then the smart ass says if I am in a hurry I could just come and get it he did not care.
13. Quattlebaum Music Center
Address: 101 W Arch Ave, Searcy, AR 72143 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
Not your typical music shop. Shopping here was as enjoyable as our purchases. A true gem of music stores in Arkansas!
Very friendly and helpful
Good folks!
Nice friendly staff
This is a long time local favorite. It’s a cool little music store. Good customer service. Has guitars, violin/fiddle, cello, bass, etc.
Friendly people, prices seem fair, selection was good.
They are selling stolen property.
I’ve purchased things from here before, but today, I felt as though my business was not wanted. I took a violin in due to having issues tuning it and the bridge popping off. Was told what I need to do. Told them thank you and asked my daughter if she wanted to look around. Was told to have a nice day. Was not asked if I needed help with anything else. Employee just walked away
Great home town store
14. Renown Music
Address: 104 W F Ave, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
You can trust Renown with any of your stringed instrument repair needs. The owner is very professional and has many years of experience. I wouldn’t take my guitars or basses anywhere else. They have some great teachers if you are wanting to learn something as well.
Awesome store, my son has been taking lessons here for a while and loves it. The staff is great and they take time with each customer. Highly recommend for music equipment amd lessons
Brandon is great. I am an older individual trying to learn guitar. He is so patient and makes you feel good while learning. Would highly recommend him to anyone starting out.
15. Independent Music Services Inc
Address: 9851 Brockington Rd #6, Sherwood, AR 72120 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
I have always had a great experience with this instrument repair service. Friendly staff and quality repair is just a basic reason why I give this place 5 stars. If I ever need an instrument repair, I would first go to Independent and trust them with their services. If you want to spend your money on getting your instrument repaired, please use Independent!
Wonderful people that do a wonderful job.
As a musician of over a decade there is nowhere I trust with my repairs in the state. This is not your average music shop, this is purely repair and is EXCELLENT service and hospitality.
Did excellent work on my old trombone, very nice people!
Very helpful and informative
I came in with a horn to have repairs done to it. I needed to have my saxophone’s neck recorked. I needed additional repairs, but above all needed the recorking. The repairman came up, looked at the instrument brand and said he could do nothing for me because if he broke something, he would have to make a part. I thanked him and walked out. I thought by the ratings that this would be a location with skilled craftsmen, but instead feel like it’s people prone to mistakes so they can only work on standard brands and not all instruments. I’d consider calling before coming. They are the only place around for quite a distance and driving over 60 miles to be treated like this felt very awful!
16. Ozark Cafe
Address: 107 E Court St, Jasper, AR 72641 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
Great food and service. Unique and worth the visit. Will be returning.
Great food and service.
Great place to stop and eat! Service was spectacular!
My pancake was burned
I do not like burned food.
My friends food tasted like old grease.
Miss the monte Cristo they took off the menu 🙁 nice place as always food still wonderful as the server home town cafe feel !
Really nice place to eat in Jasper, AR. The atmosphere is amazing … think a real Mom and Pop Cracker Barrel. The Excalibur Burger is worth a try as is the volcano (grilled cheese). You get to order 3 types of fries- my favorite is the fresh cut. If you don’t want burgers the plate meals are good as well. The chicken fried steak is enormous and pretty tasty. The only reason this place doesn’t get five stars is that it can take 30 minutes to get your food. This is due to the amount of traffic. This place seems to do a lot of business. It’s worth coming here if your hungry for good size portions or if you really like a route 66 kind of feel.
Waitress rude and unaccomidating. We came and had dinner the first night. Everything was great. We came for breakfast the next morning and one waitress was so rude we almost left. We spent $300 between the 2 visits. We would have come back the next 5 mornings but we won’t be back!
Couldn’t get any refills food was good service not so much
Terrible horrible atmosphere with a bunch of perverts sitting next to us. Wouldn’t go back. Ever.
17. All Star Music
Address: 3707 E Highland Dr, Jonesboro, AR 72401 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
Great deals in store and the employees are very nice.
Getting my Gibson right they never disappoint
Love J.R.
Great selection and prices
It’s not the best most of the brass is very old and not worth their price and the mouth prices a rusting but I love their selection of instruments there and it looks kinda wide open and friendly and they have so much stuff their.
Selection is sub-par and overpriced. You are always able to talk them down on the price however and the staff is serenely helpful and extremely knowledgeable. You can find a few brand name guitars and a large selection of drum kits. I think it deserves repeating the staff is fantastic!! (no I don’t work there) ha
Over priced merchandise. Didn’t enjoy my visit at all. I purchased what i needed because it was my only choice but at a price three times what it should have been.
Awful, just awful… Paid 150 for used guitar that retails for 120 and comes with a bag! Wouldn’t give me a refund, only in store credit… Definitely not going back here
18. Back Beat Music
Address: 613 Southwest Dr, Jonesboro, AR 72401 , Newton County , Arkansas , United States
Outstanding place to buy gear and just an awesome guitar selection. Have not only the popular stuff but those rare gems. Staff is first class and did not stand over you while your trying to make a decision. Best guitar buying experience I have ever had. I will be back.
As a first time buyer I received amazing service from the staff. How great you ask? So great that I walked in with a $200 budget and walked out with a $1,000 limited edition black and gold Fender Stratocaster without even as much as a sales pitch. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new or used instrument.
Great place to shop,
However one small issue I had there was when I was wanting to repair my Fender Guitar. The guitar was beat up a bit, had no strings, paint was damaged, and the knobs for the tuning were gone and the plate was cracked. My friend found it in an abandoned place and it was a decent guitar it was just badly damaged.
I went there to the receptionist and all I got was, “You are better off buying a new guitar” Etc. He was insistent on me just buying a new guitar. It was a very arrogant moment.
There are good thing’s about the place but from my only experience on this It was a huge waste of my time trying to repair, love the shop, the staff is pretty chill but I believe there can be changes.
I have been coming here for years as most of the reviewers. I have always had a decent experience. I’m just an amateur guitar player who doesn’t practice much and i don’t know much about music. I have to be fair and mention that, yes, the staff has at times, seemed curt and disinterested but I’ve never had an out-and-out bad experience here. It’s possible that they were simply just distracted or overwhelmed, it happens! I got lessons here from a swell guy several years ago. I wish i could remember his name. They seem to have a large variety of items like accessories-tuners, picks, strings, stands for your chords, chord books, guitar cases and guitars. They offer stringing services, although I’ve never used them. I think I’ve seen a few banjos and mandolins for sale over the years, although those may have been instruments taken on trade, i don’t know for a fact if they stock and sell those instruments. I also don’t know if they do trade-in as I’ve never had anything to trade. I have seen ukuleles there for sale. It is possible that they have expanded the lessons they offer into other instruments, such as wind instruments but I am not sure. That would depend entirely upon there being any such instructors available here in Jonesboro that don’t already have their own business giving lessons. That’s a lot of “maybes”. It would be good to call and just ask, if this is important to you. I do know that they used to give drum lessons, it’s possible they still do. If you are a musician or have a musician in your life, check this place out!
I was charged $60 for strings and when I got my guitar back I had to tune it.I also feel they were a bit rude.
Darrel Sykes, one of the employees, was absolutely rude and passive aggressive to me the first time I walked in there. He told me that the music scene here is cliquish then proceeded to ignore the fact I was in the store after trying to sell me a cheap-o condenser mic (I was looking for an AT4040). Trying to give them another shot after a couple of years I took a bass there for a repair, restring, and a set-up. The guitar tech was curt, impersonal, and left the old strings on there. When I went to pick it up, Darrel, another guy, and someone who I believe is the owner just stood there talking to each other for several minutes before seeing why I was there. There were no other customers visible. My bass turned out to be unplayable when I got it home, every note buzzed, and the saddles were lowered as far as they could go.
The inventory is lacking and the aloofness of the staff makes the place a total disappointment. I’ll drive to Memphis, Nashville, or St. Louis to outfit my home studio. I would advise any parent looking to get their teenager started on an instrument to look elsewhere.
Edit in response to the owner’s reply:
If by “imagine it” you mean how your staff actually treated me, then yes, that’s exactly how it happened.
Been going here for almost a decade. Probably the most condescending and overall lackluster service you can get in Jonesboro. If you’re a musician and you have a question, prepare for a rough time. Great inventory, bad pricing.
I’m being harsh with my rating, but in my defense I’ve been here at least thirty times in my life and have some terrible stories to go along with my dissatisfaction. There are things that you just do not do in customer service.
Sadly enough, the decent music stores have all closed up. Backbeat and All star are all we really have left and they are equally bad.
EDIT: Not sure if All Star is still open actually; don’t let that diminish my credibility. I avoid these places like the plague.
