Need two cashiers and to not close 6 minutes before closing time.
Move from a big city to this small town, literally it is the only place that’s closes late but to begin with their restroom is always out of service and if want cash back you need to ask first, they are always low in cash. Other then that their Chinese products are very good.
Messy. 1/2 the time they close early.

Something new every time I go.
The women that work here are very nice and helpful. The prices are good and they are always doing really fun deals on and off like 5 doller bag deals. It’s fun to walk around and treasure hunt here.
Had a few interesting things.
Place appears permanently closed.
Regular flea market. Lots of clothes
4. CM Music/Tires
Address: 425 New Kings Bridge Rd, Athens, GA 30607 , Nicholson , Georgia , United States
Professional, fast, reliable. Would recommend to anyone ! Great job and thank you
Awesome team! Scheduled and estimated brand new tires for my f250 in less than an hour. Then had their mobile team come to my office the same week and get everything mounted and balanced. Great prices great service. Highly recommend!
This business is great! I think it’s awesome how they do the tires mobile. So, I gave the owner a call about my car and within an hour, his guys were in my driveway fixing it. From now on, I will only use CM Music/Tires for anytime I need tires, wheels, or even a radio installed! Thank you guys for doing what your doing.
Was told they could install an amp to my door speakers in my 2021 F-150. Long story short they couldn’t after paying upfront and waiting 3 weeks along with getting off work early so they could do it. After 3 hours they couldn’t even find the speaker wires needed for the install. They literally set in my drive way watching how to videos on YouTube. SMH. Not very professional if you ask me. I asked if they were insured before they started to tear apart my head unit area and that’s when they pretty much gave up. The owner informed me he didn’t need my business and they couldn’t do it without *igger rigging it. So why tell you can do something when you know good and well you can’t. Bad business all around if you ask me.
Used these guys through some good recommendations at work. Got two rear tires on the back of my brand new 2021 Chevrolet Camaro SS. Service was quick and easy but they over pressured the wheels on the machine causing indentions and scratches on the paint/coating on the wheels. Also over filled the tires to 46 psi. If you have a premium high performance vehicle or nice wheels I would not use these guys.y work recommendations came from truck owners so I’m guessing they have don’t have the expertise or skill to change tires on a vehicle like mine. Then had the nerve to call me and give me an attitude because I informed them of the damage so they could be more careful in the future. Blamed me for the damage since I had a little curb rash on 1 of the wheels.
I don’t ever want to say bad things about a local business but I’m forced to make an exception after the experience I had. Bought 4 new tires for my truck at a great price and they came to my house quickly and did the install. Right away I had a really bad vibration and called Chunky to make him aware. He advised that it was either the wheel being bent or the rotor. I took it to two different places to have them look and both places found a knot on the tire and suggested I call Chunky back. I called him to explain and he immediately started yelling and blaming the problem on anything and anyone but him or the bad tire. I was shocked at not only how quickly he started yelling but just how unprofessional he was.
5. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Nicholson , Georgia , United States
A bit smaller than their old location, but definitely no drop in quality. Still a good place to go for a wide variety of music needs. I purchased an electric guitar and amp from here and the employee who helped me was very informative and helpful.
Ed is the man! Hooks me up as always.
Nice selection of stringed and percussion instruments. Pretty decent prices, too.
Pretty good shop if you are in Athens. Much better selection of gear than their competitors in the area.
Very nice store but not a great variety of guitars
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
I have an old Takamine that was a gift to me over 21 years ago, and it has received a lot of wear & tear over the years from playing out and so on. I am super picky and have been hesitant in letting someone work on it. I have had it adjusted a few times but have never been satisfied with the work.
Long story short, Dylan quickly assessed the issues with the guitar that I had been wrestling with for years which boosted my confidence to leave it with him. Even with his busy schedule, he had it ready within a couple of weeks of dropping it off. He did a complete refret job, leveled & adjusted the neck, and even fixed up a few dings here and there. The neck & fretboard play so smooth and even well past the 12th fret. And with one minor tweak, he had the action the way I liked it.
I am a super happy customer and would confidently recommend Dylan to work on your guitar.
It is estimated that there are 200 billion trillion stars in the universe. Yet google limits us to awarding only 5. Knowledge and kindness spills from Dylan. The shop is wonderfully curated to serve and protect the music scene, while simultaneously creating a community space where you never know who you’ll run into. The gear selection is rad, the building is cool, and it gives hope to all those who are trying to make it in this crazy world.
I took my Jazzmaster to Dylan for some fretwork and a set up with flat wound strings and now I have to keep a stick on me to beat off the jealous guitar players. When I first plugged it in, all my neighbors brought frankincense and myrrh to my house. My roommates burned all their axes in tribute to my newfound weapon of mass destruction. 10/10, truly amazing work, but understand the consequences of owning a Classic City guitfiddle. With great power comes great responsibility.

Parts guy Mike was great. Helped me find a tiny part I’ve been looking to get for a while.
Awesome
Great location and very knowledgeable staff. No pressure buying and great selection.
Knowledgeable staff, great inventory. One may play instruments with staff assistance in order the try out the items.
Always a friendly and helpful staff. Great prices on guitar maintenance items like strings. Could use a better selection of left handed guitars.
Great place to buy your musical gear! This store has gone over and beyond to help me out with any specific needs I’ve requested.
For example:
– talking to manufacturers to find a single component to fix my headphones
– helping me with returns and trying out gear
Seems like everyone there knows a lot about music and there’s one guy (older, taller) that is just so quick to help and eager to be kind. Really appreciate it.
Four stars simply because one employee (older man, maybe a manager?) Kept trying to up sell me on a longer guitar cord when I knew I wanted the shorter one. He attempted twice, which is more than I want to happen when I already said no.
Other than that (and I’m sure that guys is fine too) A great store.
The Staff was great at the front. I forgot his name, but one guy really took the time to explain guitars to us. However, the guitar repair was another story. It was terrible service with the repair person! It took weeks to get him to do anything. I kept calling and nothing had been done on it over the course of about 3 weeks. I finally went and picked it up to take it somewhere else.
The Atlanta Store is much much nicer. I am searching for the latest keyboards and this store had like 3 to choose from…
Lots of cheap garbage guitars on the walls and Bevis and Butthead behind the counter.
I am glad I took the time to visit this store, it convinced me that there is no reason to ever go back.
11. G Force Studios
Address: Athens St, Jefferson, GA 30549 , Nicholson , Georgia , United States
Five stars, 100%. Kelly is so knowledgeable in the field of singing and the pedagogy. She knows the inner workings of every body part that contributes to singing. Kelly got me through a tough time for singing when I had a semi-paralysis on my vocal folds a few years ago. I am so very fortunate to have worked with her. I would recommend her to anybody.
Miss Kelly is a wonderful piano teacher. She is patient and encouraging and creates a comfortable space for learning.
My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Kelly for 3 years. Can’t say enough good things about her. Great teacher!
13. All Things Piano
Address: 1377 Duncan Ln, Auburn, GA 30011 , Nicholson , Georgia , United States
Contacted ATP for Baby Grand move. Arrangements made, packed up, transported, delivered and set up perfectly. The two men were terrific. Introduced themselves, shared what they were going to do and were personable and great guys. Would have offered them a beer had they not been working.
I would absolutely recommend and use ATP again. This move was a temp move while are new home is completed. We will see ATP soon in coming months.
100%
All things piano moved my baby grand piano very secured and efficiently. They definitely knows what they are doing. They came with 2 persons. Appointment done on time, disassemble everything, covered, secured with large rubber band and pack securely before moving. Matt done a great job managing the moving. I shopped around and their pricing was the lowest by far. If you’re looking for piano mover in Atlanta area, look no further.
10 stars!!!
I called around to have my great grandmother’s 1925 upright piano moved from Gwinnett County to Hart County. Phil was very professional on the phone asked me a few questions then gave me a price, which was way less then any other. Matt and Miles were the the 2 young men moving the the piano on moving day. They arrived at my sisters on-time, wrapped and loaded our treasure. My sister was very pleased with there work on her end. They had to deliver another piano in Athens on the way. Matt sent me a text and let me know they were on the way. Which was great! When they arrived he introduced himself, there was a slight issue with where I wanted to place it, or I thought he checked it out and the attic stairs are just out of the way. They bought it in set it up made sure I was happy. Then we paid. This company is great! If I ever had to move it or another piano again I would definitely use them. Very professional, WELL priced, we were expecting to pay alot more. Thanks, Phil, Matt and Milo for taking care of my great grandmother’s gift to me.
All Things Piano personnel were professional and transported/set up my piano with no mishaps. I was very pleased with the condition of the piano after its storage and move.
The cost was reasonable except for unlocking the action which took about 3 minutes, and the cost for that was a little steep. Otherwise, I would recommend this company for piano storage/transport.
14. Music & Arts
Address: 1905 Scenic Hwy N Suite 610, Snellville, GA 30078 , Nicholson , Georgia , United States
Music and Arts is a wonderful music store. The employees are super friendly and helpful. I have been taking lessons at this location for a year. I took guitar and vocal lessons. The instructors are great! Really helped me improve as an artist. I would 100% recommend everyone to take lessons and purchase all music supplies and instruments at this location.
I called to see if they would buy my guitar. Though they weren’t buyers, they put me in contact with someone who might. That service was above and beyond, in my opinion. If they are willing to help take care of someone who wasn’t a customer, what will they do for a customer.
Guy is a great teacher for my kiddo. She’s had a great time learning songs and they even let her try out some inventory guitars and basses. She now starting to eyeball the uke!
Staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable over the years my kids have been in band and orchestra. This is my go to place out of area music stores.
This place covers most of the variety of things you would look for in a music or audio equipment store
friendly staff and very helpful for anything you need for school band
Aug 26, 2023: staff is a bit aloof (however, Dylan was not, he was very courteous and helpful). I purchased an adapter that was priced on the shelf almost half the price as what it rung up for. When I questioned, they did not honor the price, I showed how this particular adapter was priced as tagged at competitors rather than double the amount that was charged. The other guy shrugged his shoulders, said prices regularly change (which they don’t, I dont appreciate being spoken to as if I know nothing of the industry). I called another location and asked about the same part, the price they quoted was the lower amount. So, I shared this with the staff and after they made a call (there was no manager in duty), they finally corrected the price. 0% recommend. Ridiculous.
Horrible customer service. I have never seen such incompetence in the retail industry. I will NEVER shop here again!!! I am also going to get in touch with the Better Business Bureau. Scam artists. My 12 year old son asked the clerk for a particular mouthpiece and the clerk told him that it was 72.00. She never asked him if he needed a long or short mouthpiece. We don’t know anything about trombone mouthpieces. My son just started playing the trombone. We took it all of the way home to find out that it didn’t fit. We drove back to Snellville to exchange it for the correct mouthpiece and the manager told us that they don’t return mouthpieces that have been opened. I wish that the clerk could have mentioned that at the time of purchase….
