Incredible experience! Great gear and fair rates. Noah was super helpful and kind and made it such a great experience. Would definitely go back again.
Noah Taylor is such a talented producer and working with him in his studio was an incredible experience. He is knowledgeable, efficient, inventive and an absolute pleasure to be around. I highly recommend recording here.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Noah at his studio and I’ve never had a better experience than this. He’s such a professional and truly cares about the quality of the music. I highly recommend coming to see Noah I promise you won’t be disappointed!
2. The Niwot Gig
Address: 7960 Niwot Rd C10, Niwot, CO 80503 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
The gig has been an amazing level up in guitar for my son. From the individual instruction to weekly jams with kids his own age, my son is loving guitar. The quaint studio and cameras allow me to enjoy watching my kid rock out.
Alanna and Martin are terrific. Martin is an amazing teacher and makes learning an instrument fun and enjoyable…even for older folks!
Both of our kids are taking private lessons with Martin and they are doing weekly jam sessions with their respective bands as well. Seeing how quickly they are developing skills, getting used to being on stage and growing as musicians is amazing. We are absolutely thrilled about The Niwot Gig and the kids are excited about their music lessons!
Stopped in to look at rebuilt antique consoles. They add high end speakers, amps, and turn tables. Cool concept by people with a passion for art and music.
I absolutely love my new console. Completely redone and the original radio still works amazing. Takes me back to my parents and grandparents. Filipe was east to work with and the process was easy.
4. The Old Oak Coffeehouse
Address: 136 2nd Ave Unit B, Niwot, CO 80544 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Cozy little coffee shop. Only thing that wasn’t great was that staff was really loud. It was hard to focus on what I was working on because they were laughing and talking so loud. I sound like a big grump, I’m happy they like eachother!!! It was just distracting….
Friendly cozy ambience.
Edited: This review was written using the same computer on WIFI.
Went here to work on my computer and the internet worked for only two people. I told Morgan that myself and another patron were having issues connecting. I asked for my money back because the internet was down and Morgan was unwilling to do so. I’m unsatisfied with this lack of service at an establishment meant to do just that. I won’t be back.
Two weeks before this I went here to work on my computer. After 20 minutes the guy that owns the antique shop demanded that I move my car for his evening vendor setup for the street band playing that night. It was 9:30 am in the morning. The lack of signs in the area indicated that I was safe to park where I was at. This establishment allows other store owners to harass you here. This isn’t a good place to have a meeting or to work. Completely disgusted.
Got a iced mocha and a vegetarian burrito . The burrito was frozen and incredibly salty . I just took two bites of the burrito and took it back to the the guy in the front and he acted like I was making it up . They did not offer me a refund for the burrito .
Never coming back here !
Super cute shop but I got brewed coffee and it was not good. I’m always bummed when a coffee shop does not do brewed coffee well. I think their specialty is espresso drinks.
5. Few of a Kind Vintage + Mercantile
Address: 124 2nd Ave, Niwot, CO 80544 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Wonderfully curated shop with unique items for your home or thoughtful gifts for friends and family.
Unique funky items. Always find cool items here. Not cheap, but I like quality items, so works out. Owner is always very friendly. Always a must stop when I am on old town.
I love A Few of a Kind! I’m not a shopper usually but I always find things I want for myself and as gifts here. Angie has an incredible eye for old and new treasures and has curated an amazing collection of items for home, body and soul! (Like those goat milk caramels, morrocan water glasses, beautiful quilts and beet hand cream – to name just a few of my favorite finds here.
Great store. Very friendly. Gifts you don’t find any where else.
Though the stuff looked cool, I was not greeted and basically ignored. Another woman walked in at the same time I did & she was treated like gold. I might have bought something but not after being ignored. It’s seemed like a snooty vibe, so I walked out. I won’t ever return.
Cool little shop. Great vibes. Fun pieces. Is now a place for me to visit often, since they said they will be getting new items in regularly.
6. Wise Buys Antiques
Address: 190 2nd Ave, Niwot, CO 80544 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
We had an old antique stove that we needed to find a new home for. Tim was amazing. He couldn’t use the stove himself, but searched around to find someone who could. After making several calls to individuals he knew, he found someone in Pagosa Springs who drove all the way to Longmont to pick it up! Getting nothing for himself, Tim went way above and beyond to help us, both calling and emailing frequently to be sure everything went smoothly. What an amazing example of true customer service – serving people who weren’t even “customers” but just helping us. We are truly grateful!
Love my gorgeous candle sticks!
Paid $50 for vaseline glass here. The plate was labeled explicitly Vaseline glass and got home to utah to find out it was fake and not Vaseline. Make sure you check your glass with a black light. Very disappointing especially from a antique store.
Very Rude!!! I would not shop here nor do business here again. I went in to this store asking for help on some estate items from my grandparents estate that are beautiful antiques from the east coast that I was hoping to possibly sell to this store. I got no further than the first item when the woman interrupted my conversation with the first salesman and said that she would help me and then instead of helping me, proceeded to ignore me and helped another customer who walked in after me. When I asked if we could finish she told me to look my item up online. I told her that I had another question she told me they were too busy even though that question was regarding their repair business. Who knows if she had actually been polite I would have brought in the items for this estate, possibly used them for repairs or even stayed a little longer and shopped for myself. Guess they will never know.
Buyer beware! The store is wonderful, and the husband seemed to know what he was doing. The woman was a horrible person who ripped me off without a second thought.I brought her antiques of mine to buy, and she pillaged what I had. Don’t give her the business. A true thief fronting as an antique store owner.
7. The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop
Address: 198 2nd Ave STE 1A, Niwot, CO 80544 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
The Wandering Jellyfish Bookshop is a charming and magical indie bookstore in Niwot. Both owners are not only incredibly knowledgeable about children’s and YA fiction, they are also friendly and super helpful. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’re happy to order any book regardless of genre.
The only dog friendly bookstore we have encountered in Colorado so far!
The staff is the sweetest and so full of knowledge. They loved meeting Loki and he loved being there.
Fabulous magical little bookstore.
8. Niwot Market
Address: 7980 Niwot Rd, Niwot, CO 80503 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Sushi was great. Definitely recommend this place for those who wish to have a good sushi experience close to Longmont
Excellent fresh prepared foods, nice deli and produce sections, Friday night dinners in the summer are outstanding. Can’t beat the great service and local involvement. Bakery cinnamon rolls are THE BEST. A gem!
If you’ve never been to Niwot Market, you’re missing out! They have hard to find gourmet products, a really nice variety of produce that’s fresh, a “killer” deli with countless choices for a delicious lunch, great coffee & pastries plus a lovely new outdoor eating area that feels like a nature retreat! Plus there’s a fabulous floral shop inside, gifts that I find unique & beautiful & they carry local handmade organic skin products- like botanically dyed soap, hemp body butter and so on. It’s really a treat shopping at Niwot Groceries!
Nice but pricey
Cute little market, lovely deli, great restaurant. Most things, however, are atrociously expensive, and I am poor. Lol.
Small store prices, good coffee is always available. (Try the cinnamon rolls). Still as good as always and convenient to the neighborhood too!
If there were a negative rating, that’s what I’d give Niwot Market. Food is ridiculously overpriced and mediocre. Fruit and veg are OK at best. Service is terrible particularly from the owners (the older couple) + one young checkout girl never serve with a smile.
Dear Owners: with drones on the near horizon to cater to every one of our whims, you only have your nice words/smiles going for you. With your current attitude, you are going to get extinct. Also, I love local but expect good prices, nice service and great quality.
Dear Customers: Unless you are absolutely desperate, go to nearby Whole Foods or King Soopers. Special shoutout to King Sooper – really nice to see the challenged serving at your checkouts. Whole Foods is taking CSR seriously, both source locally + hope they both trade fair with local farmers as with global supply chains.
Not worth it
Dont eat the sushi here its garbage
9. Jensen Guitars
Address: 360 Main St, Longmont, CO 80501 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Awesome staff, awesome pricing, awesome new location. Just all around a banging experience with them.
Their layaway program is so customer friendly my wallet is cowering in fear…
Don’s been my go-to guitar tech for 4+ years now. Being a semi-pro picker who has built and modified my own guitars for decades, when I need a PRO to work on one of my babies, Don is my absolute first choice. Every guitar he’s worked on for me has become a part of my “never sell!” collection, and sees use at a lot of shows that I have played.
The #1 shop in Longmont as far as I’m concerned!
They have more than just guitars they also sell wind instruments and string instruments
We love this place. Kids do lessons here and the teachers are great. Friendly staff.
Bought the tool I need next in my grand plan. 5 string Bass. It’s a pretty beauty.
Nice selection but not very good customer service. The cashier seemed more interested in planning his next ski trip than helping us out.
Edit: I did not review the wrong place. We watched the cashier playing around with Google Maps on the store computer (maybe not skiing, but definitely not work). We spent about 15 minutes there and he never greeted or acknowledged us. We had much better experiences at Larry’s and Guitars Etc.
Great place if you are looking for a cheap jangly Chinese made guitar. Spend a few minutes with the owner so he can brag about his skills and insult your intelligence!
Don can be a bit rude and condescending. I want to support the small business local guys, but just a little more respect would go a long way.
10. Niwot Jewelry & Gifts
Address: 300 2nd Ave, Niwot, CO 80544 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Jason is THE BEST. He ordered my wedding band to try on with my engagement ring, and he had it sized and ready just about the next day.
We were on a time constraint, but he made it happen for us with such grace.
Their service is polite and professional, the quality of their work is exceptional, and their prices are fair. I would highly recommend their services.
Great place to buy a new watch. An excellent selection of quality watches and the owners are friendly and knowledgeable. When my old watch stopped, they examined it for free and helped me select a new watch I really enjoy. All for the same price I would have paid online.
11. Inkberry Books
Address: 7960 Niwot Rd, Niwot, CO 80503 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Inkberry books is a charming but understated store with knowledgeable staff who are happy to help with the smallest request for suggestions. Well worth the visit!
Wonderful little bookstore with an interesting selection of good quality used books. Interesting events and author signings. Worth a visit!
This is my go-to store for my musical needs, both guitar and ukelele! The owner is terrifically helpful and easy to work with and will make special requests for music. Go visit and see for yourself.
Wonderful service! Great prices. You can buy some new stuff or some used stuff. Staff was very helpful with me as first time buyer. Will be returning often for my music related needs.
Great ukalele selection
Go to place in Boulder for all of my acoustic instrument needs. Good people, excellent service, nice atmosphere.
Called long distance for a specific piece of sheet music. While they do not have it in the store, the sales rep named Derek was extremely helpful and courteous. Kudos to him.
Very friendly staff, unfortunately way over-priced. You can find some of the exact same items on ebay or Amazon for less than half the price at this store.
16. Guitars Etc
Address: 750 9th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Everyone who works there is always friendly and helpful. Their focus is to ensure the most positive music experince. My son has taken lessons there for 2 years now and we could not image going anywhere else. I highly recommend Guitars Etc for purchasing musical equipment and/or lessons.
Todd sat and talked with me while I played several acoustic guitars. They were all set up and cared for extremely well, and he was patient and happy to answer many questions I had about guitars, DI’s, and pick-ups. I played many guitars from several other stores in the following week, but none were cared for the way they were at Guitars Etc. I ended up purchasing one of the first guitars I played at Guitars Etc and I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who’s serious about buying a new acoustic guitar!
Attention millennials! From my experience, these guys rock. If you want something that’s not there, they will get it in. The owner Todd is great to work with and so is Ross. One of them is usually there. I’ve been shopping here for a year and half, and always have good experiences. I’ve purchased everything from guitars to drum gear to a portable PA. Highly recommended.
Pretty cool place, except I can only afford guitar strings and kazoos
Staff was attentive and there was a good selection of items.
Not much for bass.
I paid 9 dollars more for the same set of acoustic strings than the music place right down the street. The actual store is huge but the selection is pretty small. The pictures are deceiving. Probably wouldn’t recommend because of the clear price gouge. I won’t be shopping here again.
Bad customer service.. Stay away. Owner has a bad attitude and did not appreciate my business during pandamic. Its ok I took my business to Jensen guitars down the street where the customer service was top notch. The Owner was rude towards my child for knocking over a sign that was not damaged and said some not so nice things. If you do go to the place do yourself a favor and leave your children at home. This place is not child friendly. Never will return to this place and would never recommend it to anyone. You sir lost a customer.!
I had gone into this store with full intention to buy a guitar because I will admit, the selections are good. However when I had found an Epiphone guitar for a family member that felt good one of the workers had come up to me for him to start passive aggressively telling me that I was playing the guitar too hard making it un sellable. I feel like if he had the knowledge about guitars would know that you do have to strum an electric guitar with a pick in order for it to make sound. Crazy how you have to do that for a guitar to do something. All of the workers make the good selection not matter anymore. Don’t go there they have no intention to do something about any bad reviews proven by how they don’t respond to any of those. They don’t care at all about the people. They just want money.
17. Little Bird
Address: 112 2nd Ave, Niwot, CO 80503 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
I love this little shop. Fantastic, unexpected clothing collections, unique jewelry, hand made pieces. Salespeople are helpful without being pushy. Highly recommended.
Cute gifts from local artists
Love it. Real boutique. Bohemian flare.
Love the store and always find something special. I took three friends yesterday (November 18, 2021) and was quite embarrassed. The clerk was rude to all four of us at some point of our visit and we were all taken aback! One friend was questioned about something being on sale (it was) and the clerk was simply short with each of us. We should have just left.
Beautiful store. Jewelry, soaps, candles & a variety of clothing for a special night out or work. Check out the cool cards for every occasion.
Quaint, friendly and one of a kind quality store. Authentic atmosphere for memorable purchases.
Adorable shop but terrible customer service. Felt very uncomfortable as I simply walked around I was being watched like a hawk, definitely won’t be returning.
18. The Little Shop at Niwot
Address: 7960 Niwot Rd Suite D-15, Longmont, CO 80503 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
I LOVE The Little Shop Niwot. I did some virtual shopping on the website for Christmas. All items were exactly as described and carefully packed. The prices were great, and I love being able to support small businesses through the shop.
The mix is eclectic, so I was able to cover a lot of bases, from bath bombs, to stuffies, to scarves to art. Not to mention some cute purses! I just hope someday I can visit the shop in person.
A fun shop with unique gifts~two of which I was able to get for loved ones who I know will enjoy them. The employee was friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth the shopping experience!
I always find the cutest and most unique gifts here! And fantastic clothes with the softest fabrics!
Jack is one of the preeminent blues guitarist in Denver. I met Jack 9 years ago when he helped the Heart of Brighton put on its first Blues Festival. A total professional and fun to work with. I follow Jack and is band wherever he goes, even Memphis, 2 years ago.
Voted one of the smoothest blues vocalist by the Colorado Blues Society among other accolades. Go see him and hear for yourself. He won’t disappoint, I promise.
Chill good guitar sounds like stevie ray vaughn
20. Recycled Records LP
Address: 1067 S Hover St C, Longmont, CO 80501 , Niwot , Colorado , United States
Best vinyl selection around. We drive from Louisville often. Low key environment. Definitely recommend Recycled Records to everyone interested in an amazing vinyl shop!!
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL PLACE! Been going here since before they moved from downtown area. Selection is gigantic and varied, with even a corner for 1/4 inch tape selection (rare to see these days). If its a weird record you may find it as I’ve been surprised more then three times while looking about. They recently expanded their Record Player/Amplifier selection for getting you started on a good note. Players range from vintage to modern.
Gale is lovely and offers help if your unsure on what your looking for (if you don’t bring your prejudices or ego above yourself) and loves conversing if your open to it. Be aware that pricing is impacted by original sleeves and posters being included or not. See a lot of complaining in these reviews without reading stickers.
PS their is a lot of idiots coming in here expecting royal treatment and immaculate MINT grading in every single sleeve and tub. Get real and take it or leave it!
Every time I walk in I am reminded that there is really no other record store that compares! Excellent, extensive collection. Super friendly staff. Best Record Store Day collection.
Huge selection with a very friendly staff. Glad we stopped in!
I do really love this store. I can find may of the rarer items I’m looking for. Really nicely organized and clean. The more common albums are a bit higher priced than most other stores would be my only complaint.
Huge inventory and very clean, organized but it comes at a huge price tag – literally. Same records/ quality (used) at half the price in other stores.
Not nearly as friendly or helpful as they where before they moved
Great selection. I also agree with the other posts about price. The go to price is based on Discogs pricing. If we wanted Discogs pricing we would use that. Both Lana Del Rey and Chance the Rapper albums were marked up by $20 from even Amazon prices. The price for metal albums were the same.
As an experienced collector with 1000s of albums I was not very happy seeing this pricing. While I’m sure it’s not the intent, they are taking advantage of newbies to vinyl with these ridiculous prices on none rare items.
THE PRICES MAY FOOL THE NEWBIE, OR THE CASUAL COLLECTOR – BUT AS AN ENTHUSIAST THESE PRICES ARE ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS
!! I CAN UNDERSTAND CHARGING TOP DOLLAR FOR COLLECTIBLE JAZZ, BUT THEY ARE SELLING NEW TITLES FOR 10-15 DOLLARS MORE THAN MSRP. FOR SHAME !!
