Mike rules. Place rules. First time I’ve felt like ATL truly has a guitar hero store.
Great staff I’d recommend this shop .
This is a great shop!! Russ contacted me on a Craigslist post that I made. I live in the metro Detroit area, his shop is in Georgia, he made me a reasonable offer on one of my guitars. Paid me instantly thru PayPal, he emailed me a shipping label, I boxed up the guitar and sent it out the same day. Probably one of the most smooth transactions I’ve had in the whole guitar business, and I buy and sell a lot. Thank you Russ for the great hospitality, and customer service. Look forward to doing business with you in the future. Thanks A+++++
The staff was very friendly and very attentive. All the gear seems to be in great condition, but overall the prices are a too high for this musician’s budget. Watch out for that undisclosed “checkout fee” 😉
Beautiful collection of guitars on sale and consignment, plus a pretty decent record shop!
Friendly and professional. Offer a fair price and paid promptly
Disregard, disrespect and unprofessional…
I had a horrible experience at this store. They told me it would take 7 days to change the strings and when I went to get the guitar it was just as I left it. They didn’t even touch the guitar.
I wanted to buy a Gibson and didn’t buy it because of my bad experience. They missed an opportunity for additional business, and I will never visit this store again.
I do, however, recommend Maple Street Guitars which in my opinion is the best guitar shop in GA. I was very happy with my experience there! They`re professionals.
The owner of this business scams customers online making false claims regarding the authenticity and value of his Guitars. Have a luthier you trust look over your next axe from this con-artist.
I don’t like writing negative reviews and try to work it out in good faith before. I spent a LARGE sum of money on instruments at Big House Guitars and got burnt. Upon the inspection I (luckily!!) requested, the $$$$$ vintage Les Paul turned out not to be true to representation (only 1 PAF pickup instead of two … oops, sorry for the mix up!). I still decided to proceed and worked out a deal including several trade in instruments. They simply didn’t honor it: I received one guitar with cracks, which they half-assedly tried to pin on UPS before telling me it was like that when I tried it… Nice! They never took my guitars agreed as trade-ins, leaving me on the hook for selling them… I called Russ the store owner many times, who ghosted me, leaving me to receiv lip service by email from the crew. VERY disappointed. It’s a cool shop and the guys seem friendly. But sadly, I wouldn’t buy anything ever again from them. BUYER BEWARE.
6. Rat Room Records
Address: 2323 Cheshire Bridge Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30324 , North Druid Hills , Georgia , United States
Loved the country options. Bought a few today, will be back.
A neat little record shop with and incredibly knowledgeable staff.
Always a great haul. Good records good prices!
Small selection but the owner is helpful
Groovy vibe
Great shop some Albums $1
Overpriced and I’m not really a fan of an owner who will sit there and have a full blown conversation with a certain group of people while you’re just standing there waiting for him to acknowledge your question.
45’s that I wanted to buy, and he wouldn’t sell it to me. Said that there were plenty already priced. Not a proper way to do business.
9. Wayne Bennett Music
Address: 1559 Knob Hill Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 , North Druid Hills , Georgia , United States
My son has taken lessons with Mr. Shane at Firehouse Guitars for a couple of years, and he loves it. Music is not a natural talent for him, but Mr. Shane found a way to connect with him (Star Wars on Uke!). I also love Firehouse because it is a great, local shop that gives back to the Decatur community.
Nice place decent prices knowledgeable and friendly staff
I called to get information about Guitar Lesson
Pete was so helpful signed up for Saturday classes
And the prices are reasonable ❤️
This is a pretty good little store. I bought my guitar and amp here
Rip off.go elsewhere. I use to really like bringing my daughter here but they must be under new management. Prices have gotten ridiculous!!!
11. Atlanta Musicians Exchange
Address: 2619 Lawrenceville Hwy, Decatur, GA 30033 , North Druid Hills , Georgia , United States
Great no-nonsense music shop. Nice folks who tell it like it is and don’t try to “sell at you.” For those of us on a budget, they give great prices, honest opinions, and genuine smiles!
Great little music shop. They got everything you need to get started at fair prices. Anytime my kids want to learn a new instrument I’ll be going here.
The photo of the wall of guitars is pretty much their entire stock. I’ve seen low-end pawn shops that are less cluttered.
Horrible Customer service and NOT HELPFUL!! Instead of helping we with appropriate prices for my gear, I was ridiculed by the prices I thought might be appropriate. A ‘good luck with selling your stuff at those prices’ is all I got. I don’t appreciate the attitude and lack of consideration. All they could have said was ‘those prices are higher than market currently…have you thought of selling them for $$$$?’. Unfortunately the response I got causes me to NEVER want to shop at this place. Sellers BEWARE.
The repair shop sucks
12. Cooper Piano
Address: 1610 NE Expy NE, Atlanta, GA 30329 , North Druid Hills , Georgia , United States
Zoya was super helpful in helping me find just the right baby grand piano for my home. She called me right away when it came in! Love the additional services they offer and will be happy to refer anyone also looking.
I had lost all hope for good old-fashioned, genuine customer service until I had the pleasure of shopping with the Cooper Team! Blake provided knowledgeable input, Laura provided pleasant interaction and efficiency and everyone else I interacted with were courteous and patient. The cost and value for what I wanted and purchased was amazing. I would send anyone who wants to purchase a piano to Cooper Piano!
We can’t thank the entire Cooper team enough for their assistance and such great service!! They are your absolute ONE call for piano moving and service!!
GREAT selection? Absolutely. Customer service? Lacking. Next door to Cooper Piano, there’s a Yahama distributor, and the sales associates there are incredibly friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable!
While the selection is ok, the staff at this location are awfully rude. Unless you are 100% interested in purchasing a piano it is in your best interest to not show up.
Ever watched that scene from the movie “Pretty Woman” where Julia Roberts is completely disregarded or taken seriously by the salesmen based off of her looks? Well that is the exact way me and my fiancé were made to feel upon entering Cooper piano. From the start, I felt like an inconvenience to the salesman and given that there were ZERO customers in the store and five salesmen, including one woman with a snide look on her face, just sitting around, that is quite ridiculous. Me and my fiancé had just traveled all the way from Nashville to look at pianos. Needless to say, we might have been a touch disheveled. I am a serious player and while I may not have looked too important at the time, I am able to drop several thousand on a piano given that I find the one that best suits my needs. I even have one that I am interested in trading and the offer made to me, sight unseen, was insulting! That offer was even made by the owner of the store. To top it off, once the saleman found out that I was a serious buyer, both he and the owner began to try and shame me into believing that I was getting a very good deal on an offer they made for a piano I was interested in. I am not an idiot. I play piano professionally and I am very particular about the instruments that I purchase. I currently own four pianos. While at Cooper piano, I did find one that was an excellent instrument. One that I am, or was, seriously considering buying. That being said, as much as I love the piano, I refuse to give my business to such inconsiderate, rude, and completely disrespectful salesmen. I played dumb, because that’s what they wanted. But all the while, I knew I was being fed a load of bull! Salesmen at this store will clearly tell you whatever they want in order to get the sale. I think that every single one of them needs to have a lesson in southern etiquette and how to look and act professionally towards their customers. After all, this is the south and there is a right and wrong way to treat people. Especially if you want to do business.
Take it from someone who has been into countless pianos stores all across the country and has played hundreds of pianos while dealing with dozens of salesmen. Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere else.
13. Discolandia

Saludos al gordo beto!!! Y su hermano el tigre del norte
Excellent technique, communicates the basics. Empathetic teacher-highly recommended
Daniel is simply Super!!! He is a master guitar teacher. I have always wanted to play classical guitar and thanks to Daniel’s expert instruction I am finally realizing that dream.
I am 45 years old and only playing for a short period of time. Within no time, Daniel has me playing many Spanish classics such as malagueña and Spanish Romance.
He builds the fundamentals step by step so that you are prepared to take on any complex piece of music.
I recommend Daniel to everyone interested in playing guitar at any level. Daniel is wonderful person with an amazing demeanor. He cares about his students and wants to see them succeed and reach their goals.
Most sincerely
Harrison Pollinger
I am brand new to the guitar and Latin Jazz is my favorite. I decided to learn from Daniel because of his awesome playing style and videos. I have learned so much in just a month. In one month I can actually play songs and play jazz chords and I sound like I have been playing for a year. Practice daily is the key Daniel says. And he is absolutely right…
Thank you Daniel for taking the time to teach me.
15. Target
Address: 2400 N Druid Hills Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329 , North Druid Hills , Georgia , United States
Huge selection of women’s clothes. Clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful!
Clean, well staffed, stocked. My favorite
Had an issue with the self checkout machine. Not only did the manager fix it but she helped me operate it. Her level of compassion and customer service was out of this world! She needs a raise
The placement for the body care products is weird and hard to find. But it’s still the great prices that I love.
Only one person at the register, while there was a long line for the self-checkout machines. Target has a better selection of groceries than Wal-Mart, but their near exclusive use of self-checkout has made me want to stop by there less and less often because of the extremely long lines, including this store
Just a heads up because there was no one around to ask- though there are testers available in the new beauty section, there are no tissues or anything, so you just have to walk around with (for instance) lipstick smeared all over your hand. I imagine some of the clothes will start to reflect that. So. Just wanted to mention.
Never had as much issue as I had with this location and an online pick up order! If it’s an option have it delivered or go somewhere else!
Awkward employees here. One assumed I was “helped” and tried to help the lady behind me.. The other had to step in and stop him but I can’t help but think they are just incompetent around here compared to other locations
Security guard was mean 🙁
16. Atlanta School of Musical Arts
Address: 1610 Lavista Rd Suite #5, Atlanta, GA 30329 , North Druid Hills , Georgia , United States
Our family has enjoyed taking guitar lessons tremendously! The music school is run very professionally, and we couldn’t be happier.
they are really kind. i take lessons here and so far there are no problems. they communicate to you about events and give information.:)
Our experience with the Atlanta School of Musical Arts has been excellent. Our instructor, Brandon, is punctual, competent and patient with my grandchildren. My grandsons enjoy their lessons and are progressing as expected. It is exciting to see their love for music grow. I would refer this organization to others seeking similar services. Mostai, the organization’s contact, is cordial and helpful.
Mary McArthur
It’s simply put poorly managed. There is an answering service that takes your calls and trust me when I tell you nobody calls you back..I have literally been trying to get in touch with someone for a few months now. There is nobody at the front desk..place is fairly small but that’s not even the issue. The issue is not receiving emails and calls back. Makeup lessons? Forget about it. My child has been taking lessons here and it was a bit cheaper than most places were charging. Plus it was near to our home. But now I plan on taking them out and going somewhere else that is properly staffed and managed.
It was a Surprise Date Night and what A Great Experience!!! The Audience was almost as involved as Musicians. Highly recommend this for even those that “Don’t Like” Classical Musical Instruments. This was Fun and Entertaining. Take A Date, Take A Friend, Take Yourself, You will be Glad you did.
Beautiful date night of Vivaldi
Such an amazing performance! We went to their candle lit Valentines performance and it was lovely. It felt like a very intimate concert and the location was stunning.
Saw them at candlelight concert. Awesome musicians. Wish there had been a few more selections. Also while I thought the patter between selections was okay it was too long n too adlibbed. The concert had a love theme n it was in the romantic candlelight atmosphere. Scripted remarks on theme would have been better. The remarks used were more like fir an educational presentation
Not bad. Candles werent giving the mood i anticipated. Songs were OK. Cool date night but would suggest broadening the type of artists they do covers for.
19. Richmade recording studio
Address: 1047 Carlyle Lake, Decatur, GA 30033 , North Druid Hills , Georgia , United States
Meeting my wife’s high standards for great coffee drinks, even a midorder was delicious.
Food and coffee was hot and tasty. Quick drive thru service.
One of the best Starbucks. Barista made excellent lattes. Also the staff is courteous and helpful. Overall one of the good place and it made our Atlanta stay pleasant.
Still too expensive
Always out of something ♂️ Not the best service either
Good service, clean environment, plenty of outside seating where you can relax.charge your phone/computer and not be disturbed
Always closed before listed operating hours
NEVER GO TO THIS STORE. randomly closes with no sign on the door??? How hard is it to keep a store open. This store will just randomly close for what seems to be no reason. Thousands of dollars would love to flow theough your door on a sunday but no your closed. “Screw everyone were just going to close today no matter people need to work at this store well just close today those employees dont need to get paid today.” Stop disrespecting your customers and employees like this. Not at all the starbucks way
This used to be the best Starbucks in the area. The staff was on target, making great drinks, recommendations, and had these positive upbeat attitudes towards customer service.
Lately, several employees in the afternoon and evening shifts have made this location a shadow of what it once was. I spent about 4 minutes waiting at the cashier counter while the staff person spent their entire time with their back to me making other orders. A “I’ll be right with you, so sorry for your wait,” goes a long way.
The staff don’t seem to have a sense of urgency around them with up to 10 people waiting inside for their drinks as well as the drive-thru traffic. I understand that people can only move so fast compared to demand etc, but that points to leadership problem for the shift leader and store manager as “backup” isn’t called in to handle demand like any other restaurant when they are understaffed.
The attitude seems to be, I’ll take however long I need to while you wait for the thing you already bought.
I’d really like to see this place turn around. I haven’t seen Ben around – it seems when he was here things were a lot more snappy and just all around good. I only name drop as a reference point as to when things started going downhill. Not sure if he’s a morning shift manager now or just gone. It seems all the good staff has left.
Right now it has been several minutes with no customer action between the order fulfillment staff and the people waiting with bored faces about 5 feet from them.
Starbucks has a great personality usually. Let’s turn this place around so I can leave a better review.
This place is headed towards being as bad as the one down at the intersection of N Druid and LaVista across from the Dunkin Donuts. That place was almost shut down due to sanitary concerns… I’m comparing customer service here though. The customer service stunk there as well.
If I have to wait for my drink that’s fine – but at least show basic customer service skills.
