My daughter has been taking lessons for almost 2 years now. The benefit of these lessons reach far beyond violin playing itself: discipline, focus, perseverance. Now we’ve also enrolled my younger daughter. Miss Nissa is great with both of them despite their wildly different personalities!
Ms. Nissa is the third violin teacher my daughter has had and she has been the best. We met her when she was filling in for a previous teacher and right away I was able to appreciate her teaching style. My daughter has been with Ms Nissa for almost 2 years now and she just loves this class.
Ms. Nissa is a great teacher! My son has been taking lessons from her since last summer. I can see that he has greatly improved his violin technique. She is very patient with him, and always encourages him to do/try his best.

Good place..great customer service gabby is so helpful when I am looking for different items .
I was looking to add a Bluetooth speaker to my office decor, Gabriela helped me and was very professional, she even recommended we get the extended warranty in case anything went wrong with the unit, we were very happy with the purchase and the service, an unexpected and inexpensive find.
Always find great deals.
Pretty cool. Been going here for years and the people have gotten better, but the prices haven’t. Just loaned a pair of studio 3 wireless beats by Dre and they offered me $100 mind you these were purchased for close to $300 and they can’t even do half price… but eye wouldn’t go anywhere else!!!…Overall 7/10
Nice place to do business. My experience of selling some items I no longer needed was easy. Id have to say that the only thing that could be better. Would be noticing the new customers coming in. The employees should be more helpful. than they are.also I found that the employees answering the phone’s were short and rude.
Everyone was very nice and explained in detail how the loan work and what payments I should make to my best advantage
Was trying to sell a pair of boots I had so I called to make sure they bought them to which they replied yes we do we can give you 80 for them which I thought was fair. Went and drove over there and had to wait while the manager and employee talked about their personal lives until they saw me with the box and said sorry we dont buy shoes here. Complete waste of my time, wouldn’t recommend bothering with them.
Worst customer service i have ever had!!! Went in to check on a ring i put in for a loan and was told that they had no info on the item. Wdnt in and spent 30 min or more just to find out that for some reason there are 2 accounts under my name… How is that even possiable unless someone was not careful about checking ods or they are scamming people !!!! Stay away from this place!!!!!
Sold me a broken mic, so I take it back a week later no receipt, spoke to the same person that sold it to me, even said, “your back, wats up” and said I didn’t buy it there, then proceeded to say I had to be the 1 that broke it. Foh. Str8 robbery here.
The clothes are all organized according to size. Ladies goes up to 3x and men’s up to size 44. Availability decreases as size goes up. Most of the clothes cost around $5-8 and are like new. This store has the best selection of like new shoes that I’ve seen at a Goodwill.
There’s a testing station in the electronic section. You’ll find a ton of lamps, kitchen supplies, fans, etc. There’s a good variety of home goods but it’s less organized. Lots of picture frames, wicker baskets, and Christmas decorations.
Prices are good. For example, mugs are 50 cents each. The really nice ones are 99 cents.
There’s a very small selection of dvds and books.
Dressing rooms are locked and you have to request someone to open them.
I liked it but it should be cheaper because they win everything and it’s full of things.
Place is really messed up
Está bien.
The goodwill in north riverside is the worst.they think because thinkings are from target .it mean regular price . target. donation to goodwill.for people like me we can not afford. Regular price .the people the work there rude .
expensive
This place is gross and has dusty, unclean items all over the store thrown around. It used to be a good place to go for a deal about 7 years ago, but now it’s dirty. They also over price everything now. You used to be able to get, let’s say, an adidas shirt for about 4.99, now they sell brand named items for about $15+ which is almost regular store price and for a USED item. They were selling a ninja gaiden nes game for $40 when it’s $25 on amazon. These people are scamming poor customers. This is not the same cheap donation store I once knew and enjoyed going to. If I was in charge of this store I would fire the person who priced these items so high. BEWARE: You’re being ripped off here! Check ebay or amazon first if you find something you like here. Also watch out for reviews. Reviews are everything for a store’s reputation these days so they get employees and other people to rate high scores with a short commment to raise ratings.
Fretless Music did a wonderful job at an open house reception event for our organization! Their music was fun and upbeat for our event. I would most absolutely recommend them.
We wanted to elevate our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and Fretless Music helped us do that. They had a wide selection of classical and modern music for us to choose from. Stephanie was hands on and was quick to answer any questions we had regarding selection of music and logistics. The trio sounded exceptional, and really made our ceremony special with our song choices. During cocktail hour they set the mood with their perfect song selections. The live music enhanced the atmosphere and our guests really enjoyed it.
We wanted our wedding to be super formal, but still fun and not stuffy. Fretless Strings was the perfect addition to accomplish that. The classical sound of the string instruments paired with pop and rock songs was a huge hit. It didn’t take our guests long to realize they weren’t playing your usual classic music and they loved it.
Working with them was so easy. Stephanie was incredibly nice and responsive, and booking with them was so quick and easy. They really made our day something very special and unique and we couldn’t be happier. The only challenging part is being the bride or groom and trying to enjoy it fully and still talk with all your guests. I hope I have a chance to attend someone else’s wedding where Fretless Strings is playing!

Great place to buy my yarn. Very friendly employees and I always find what I need.
This is my wife’s favorite store
It’s always great going to the Hobby lobby! I always find what I’m looking for and get great deals.
Good Deals
Need more products on hand and cashier need to know what’s what. Young men just walk quickly past you avoid trying to ask them a questions. 5stars for the associate at fabric counter.
They have enough to keep the whole family bussy on all types of hobbies and decorating items to put that little change in your space.
No glue paint
Rude cashiers. Make sure you take photos of the discount signs before heading over to pay; otherwise, expect to walk your cashier to the back of the store to fill her in on information she should know already.
P.S. Avoid Monique’s register if you don’t like hostility.
I placed an order for a custom frame a few weeks ago. I was supposed to have the order completed within 14 days. I waited longer and when no one reached out to me, I phoned in and spoke to the manager of the frame shop. He informed me that my frame had not come in but that he would call me two days later with an update. Of course, I did not hear back. I just phoned again and a salesperson answered. He explained that the frame still had not come in. He had no tangible answers on when it would come in and had not one ounce of concern that, as a customer, I was upset because I have to keep contacting them for an update and they are not proactively providing updates. I will just go in and cancel the order. It doesn’t benefit customers to offer “affordable” pricing if you do not deliver the frame! Ugh!!

12. Kagan and Gaines Music Co., Inc
Address: 7655 Roosevelt Rd, Forest Park, IL 60130 , North Riverside , Illinois , United States
I was so glad to find this place when I moved to the area 7 years ago. As a violinist who teaches and performs, I know I can send my students here to get quality rentals, accessories, and instruments. I love knowing I can stop in to grab a book or accessory I need for a lesson or performance last minute. They are always so great about helping you find the right instrument for your needs and have a beautiful show room. Everyone I’ve talked to there is attentive, accommodating, and friendly as well!
Fantastic music store with fantastic customer service. The administrative assistant is also very polite and knowledgeable! 5/5 would recommend for any of your musical needs.
Customer service was above and beyond. Took my mandolin to get set up, the gentleman behind the counter (sorry never got his name) said I didn’t need to do that, fixed the bridge, tuned it up, give me some tips and it plays great. Been stopping by for years now I know why I keep coming back.
45 dollars for an on the spot (30 min) electric guitar restring, minus the price for the strings, is a little steep, folks. I appreciate the good work, but I can get the same treatment for a lot less at A Sound Education off Ogden.
Really great staff, knowledgable and well stocked.
Unfortunately I won’t be able to justify shopping there any longer for my business because their three day return policy and extremely limited store hours make it difficult to get back over there within the period.
(I’m unwilling to pay a 20% restocking fee for unopened cables)
Hate to say it because I wish my business was going to an independent store rather than the corporate or online big boxes.
Nice and helpful staff, but they require you to give them your phone number to make a purchase. No thanks. Took my business elsewhere.
I hate to agree with the user below who complained of a dishonest experience, but we are going through the same. I’ve read all of the other 5 star reviews and notice a pattern: it seems that for violin and stringed instruments, this is a great place. For renting brass/woodwind instruments via their monopoly with the school districts, they are subpar and dishonest. We should have just purchase a used instrument which would have resulted in us obtaining a superior instrument at, I am not exaggerating, 1/4 the total cost. We just had to call them to stop processing our credit card when we noticed we had been paying an abnormally long time on my daughter’s VERY USED, VERY DENTED saxophone (4 years!). We were “reassured” that, coincidentally, they were just going to call us as well as our payments happened to be completed. Yet they have no records of all the payments that we made, and are asking us to provide payment records going back to 2017 to “prove” how much we have paid in total. Luckily for us, we can easily provide them as they have all been made on the same credit card for years. We are also disputing the amount owed as our daughter’s original “nicer” model saxophone broke, was taken in for repairs, and she was given a loaner, student-model, older and dented sax. Her other one was never repaired and instead she’s just had this one forever. We were told at the time it would be “worked out.” Now they want us to pay the same amount as they were going to charge for the initial instrument to keep this replacement instrument permanently, as they also claim to have NO record that any switch was ever made or that the original saxophone was ever brought in for repairs. Typically, I endeavor to support neighborhood shops, but not when their record keeping is straight out of Mayberry. This is taking a lot of our time and energy to sort out, and we’ve ultimately laid out over $2300 to own an instrument that I have found at multiple music stores online for around $600 and under. We understand that renting the own is typically more expensive, but this feels like being swindled in every way. Extremely disappointed. My husband has been playing music for over 40 years – he also used to play saxophone – and his mother is a professional classical musician. He is used to dealing with all sorts of music shops and has never had an experience like this one.

Always go here. Decent plaza and always parking.

A lot of stuff for a low price. Many items get rotated based on the season. I always find interesting items.
Esta muy bien alli ay de todo buenos precios
Great spot for party game gifts
Here now trying to shop. 9:25am. The store says it opens at 9am.. store still closed. Guess I’ll go somewhere else with my bussiness. Some one needs to change the hours of the store online. Waste of my time and gas!
Never pick up phone called 10 times
The store itself was okay and clean. My daughter likes going here but to me it’s just a big candy store now I use to find good buys.

They do fantastic work. Totally rebuild our 100 year old pipe organ using the original pipes and their sliding chest operating system along with a new console. Everything was first rate. We couldn’t be happier
I tried contacting this company several times within the last year. I never received any calls back. Considering that I called EVERY contact during business hours and had left messages, I am completely appaled by this type of service.
Awful communication. I would not recommend anyone attempt to contact this company for anything.
Very kind man. Always let’s me sit and wait for my sister for her lessons. One day it was really cold and he let me in to wait for her. I see others come in and I see the way he interacts with them and it’s just a very nice experience. Go check this place out but please be respectful because although it is his shop, it is also his home. He also has a dog and a cat so be respectful of them and ask before you pet them.
Brought my #1 in to be looked at by a professional, which in the ten years of owning the ’78 Les Paul Custom has never been done before. I just returned the guitar to being 100% original parts (T-Top Pickups) so the timing was right. Frets were in awful shape as well.
Here’s the breakdown: Fret crowning and polishing, fret-board polishing, full set-up, and a polishing of the nitrocellulose finish.
Outstanding work with the frets and set-up, the low action and 10 gauge strings made the guitar sound like a Gibson again! The ebony wood fret-board has never felt so playable.
A professional job done by a real professional.
Great restoration on 1955 Gibson J45
This was just a tragic experience… The gentleman was very nice and said my guitar would be ready by Saturday/Sunday. I said I’d love it if it were ready on Saturday because I was singing kids songs in the morning Sunday. I’m sure it WAS ready Saturday, but unfortunately the woman responsible for calling me did not do so correctly, as I received no message or missed calls. When I checked in on Wednesday, the woman over the phone said that she did call me and that I didn’t check my messages. I informed her that I did check, but there was no message. Rather than apologizing or taking responsibility for misdialing or simply forgetting, she responded annoyed, “check again, because I did call and you do have a message.” I hung up and went ahead to check all of my missed calls and messages… Nothing. When I arrived shortly after in the store, there was no mention of it and no attempt at responsibility.
My kids enjoyed the friendly dog and my guitar is fixed by the nice gentlemen. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back to this store because the woman was unnecessarily condescending and stubborn.
what he lacks in person to person customer service skills, he makes up for with quality work. this man can bring dead guitars back to life. he can fix ANY stringed instrument.
prices reasonable to high, but worth it.
friendly and cute dog too!
I paid $65 to have a brand new Squire Telecaster set up. This is a fair price and he did a great job. It was ready when he said it would be.
Terrible experience here, reeks of cigarette smoke (would never buy an instrument here for this reason), he literally grabbed a guitar from my sons hands (who’s an accomplished player, not just a kid) and I just heard he sold a guitar that was there for repairs to some stranger out from under a friend of mine – without offering to compensate him or getting the guitar back. Shady place.
I was thinking to stop by this store but after reading that this guy has no patience, better look in another place!
If you have an store you should learn how to interact with people,
paid $250 to have a guitar (worth maybe $200?) cleaned and set up. 3 way toggle switch was broken and tuner bushings were falling out. Got guitar back (paid my $250), the toggle switch wasn’t fixed, the switch arms were basically bent around until it barely held the selector switch in place, it broke again the next day so I just ordered a new one and fixed it myself. there were untaped and unsoldered areas in the pots that were not fixed. They used the wrong style bushings on the headstock tuners so I removed them and put in my own. The nickel plating on the hardware was cleaned, so that was nice (the only nice thing I can say about this experience).
So i basically spent $250 on a action setup and the action wasn’t even bad to begin with! I got totally ripped off and will never use this shop again. Flushed $250 down the toilet.
19. Atwood Guitars

The owner and sole employee keeps irregular hours, asks that you come “by appointment only,” and hardly even responds to texts and phone calls. Friendly guy, good wares, and authentic atmosphere otherwise. He can repair broken instruments for a cost, and makes his own for you to buy. Various types of guitars are available, but the selection is small. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to this store, honestly. Probably cheaper than Guitar Center, but it isn’t worth the inconvenience and hassle of getting in touch with the owner just to visit his shop.
