Friendly and intelligent.takes the time to help you.really like goin there.wouldnt go anywhere else
When and to check this place out and I received excellent service. The worker was very knowledgeable about things.
Very friendly service. I had my Les Paul rewired after a nightmare experience with a shop in Monroe, La. Big Event did a superb job with my guitar! I also had a guitar with a Floyd Rose turned into a hard tail by blocking the tremolo. The prices are very reasonable and the service is great.
It’s over 100 miles from home but Big Event EARNED a new customer!
Thank you!
Dr. Steve Owen
Excellent service
Does it have a recording studio? I want to make a song
Nice music shop.
Not enough inventory
I bought everything from guitar cases to a JBL top of line PA from them before I found out they are totally BOGUS! Sold me used merchandise as new, then got an attitude when I called them on it! Cuss me out when you’re a thiefing liar? I don’t think so! I wouldn’t buy a guitar pick from these people!!!
Holy cow. I didn’t even know this place was open until I went inside. Not very inviting and the whole building needs renovations. Seemed very trashy. Almost made me feel like the items there have less value just because of how badly ran the building is.

Some of the nicest people I have met in a long time. I plan to become a regular or as much as they will tolerate me. Enjoyed the impromptu jam. Felt very welcome.
Had to drag my husband out of there. Lol
Broke a string? Lost your pick? Need instrument repairs? THE place to go!
Fun and nice
Friendly and very helpful . big range of instalments to pick from I give it 4 stars.
Rude and very hateful people. I have been going here for more than 10 years and I will never go back, and be treated in such a rude manner.
3. The Musician’s Exchange
Address: 2221 Alma Hwy, Van Buren, AR 72956 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Best music store in Arkansas!
Bill and his crew are friendly and honest.
They can fix anything, correctly. At a fair price. It’s mostly a guitar store but they have a little bit of everything.
Great place with helpfull staff I’ve bougt all my gear from there and they’re great
Hey, I and a collection of preachers, musicians and singers always stop there on our way to PRISON to play and sing and share Gods love with the boys in Tucker. The staff are smart, working players. The prices are great. Area players swear by the place. When I’m on that side of the river, that’s where I Go. Once, they were out of a brand of strings for ms and gave me a FREE SET of equivalent to make up for it. THEY ARE GREAT
It’s guitars what’s not to love. Good folks here.
Friendly people but kinda pricey
Interesting selection of mostly used gear. Friendly folks!
Dropped a guitar off for the owner to look at. He told me over the phone he’d give $150 for it and only a few hours later when I came in to get the money he prints me a ticket off and hands me $100. I reminded him that wasn’t what we agreed on and all he said was “that’s all I can do unless you want me to undo the transaction”. Not good business in my opinion. He lost a customer over 50 bucks. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
And now he’s calling me a liar. This isn’t some story I made up when I was bored, it actually happened. Remember the guitar was dropped off so it could be appraised. I don’t enjoy writing bad reviews but this one was earned.
Unfriendly staff
Bought a brand new acoustic guitar here after years of using this store for my musical needs. The guitar wasnt staying in tune and i noticed the intonation was a little off as well. I took it back 4 days later and they offered me 100 bucks for it. It was brand new and i spend 400 on it and bought a 150 dollar case as well. Thats not the way you treat repeat customers. I will never be returning to this store again.
4. Houck Music Co
Address: 806 W Main St, Cabot, AR 72023 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Cousins has the best costumer service of any guitar/repair shop I’ve been to. Beau is the only person I let work on my guitars. He is a miracle worker and his work is amazing.
Very happy with the full setup and minor repairs! Beau did a great job after listening to what I wanted and then offering his own insight and the price was very reasonable. Best of all, he didn’t judge me for wanting some TLC for my precious POS.
Beau did an outstanding job on my tele. Completely setup and went above and beyond. I will definitely bring my other guitars in and let him work on them.
Good repair work
6. Music Center
Address: 2809 W 28th Ave, Pine Bluff, AR 71603 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
I took my guitar in for new strings and general cleaning. The gentleman on the phone told me that it would be a couple of days if I remember correctly. I got called about three hours later saying it was finished. They had straightened the neck of my guitar and gone the extra mile to do you some custom adjusting to make the strings closer to the frets for easier playing. Recommend these guys very very much!
I had an issue with my Taylor and I wanted to get it fixed by the most qualified place around and I’m glad I chose these guys to help me. They are very accommodating with thier service and fair with thier prices. Glad to see that great customer service is still around! Don’t waste your time with inexperienced technicians like you would find at the big “chain stores”. They will mess your guitar up and you’ll wish you made the “only right decision” in the first place. PPS has my vote for best guitar repair in this state! Great job guys!
Joey’s great, I’ve always received great service from a knowledgeable staff. Prices are fair, and if they don’t have it they will work with you to try and find it.
Usually busy because they’re good at what they do!
I was looking at electric guitars and they didn’t offer to let me plug any of them in. How are you truly going to know if you like one or not if you can’t hear the sound.
Talked to Joey in the store today. He took some time to help me plan for an upcoming purchase for our church. They have a large selection of all kinds of musical instruments and they do lessons, as well. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Highly recommended! Thanks, Joey!
Went in expecting to buy a new guitar on 01/26/2023. The man behind the counter was very unfriendly & unhelpful.
I found one I wanted to buy but I just didn’t really want to give my money to a person who didn’t know how to smile.
Another employee walked by and was even more emotionless than the other guy. I left feeling very unwelcome.
I will not be back.
Go to GUITAR CENTER instead (you can actually have FUN there).
8. Music City
Address: 5121 Warden Rd Suite A1, North Little Rock, AR 72116 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Musician? It’s worthy of stopping by to check things out and say hi.
I recommend Little Rock Violin Shop to my beginning violin students for all their instrument needs. This is a quality shop with a trustworthy team. They have a wonderful selection of instruments for players at all levels, a trusted rental program, and proven repair expertise. Great place for all string players in the central Arkansas area.
Great Service Very helpful and kind
Unique violin shop
I love that there’s a local place to have your stringed instruments adjusted and usually while you wait. My only complaint is that they charged me two different prices for the same service. My family is new to violin lessons and the instrument, so I can’t be absolutely sure that there was no difference…but there should be a uniform price for tuning/restringing a 1/4 sized violin. The staff is very courteous and informative. They also have a list of great string instrument instructors.
10. Guitar Center
Address: 12315 Chenal Pkwy A, Little Rock, AR 72211 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
I love this Guitar Center! Casey, Brandon and Eric are amazing to do business with, and they are so nice and so professional. I even bought a used guitar, and it was in mint condition!! I also highly recommend getting the pro coverage on any of your purchases… it’s an amazing company that will replace your product should it break or have issues. GREAT company to do business! Even a Snark Tuner!! Lol (I had to do that!) It was completely hassle free. If you want a great deal, and excellent customer service, go to Guitar Center in Little Rock! You won’t get better service!! Thanks GC!!!
I just go to watch my bf play on their instruments n buy new equipment… it his go to place
Muy amables las personas .
Good selection and helpful employees
No guitar tech, other than that nicely presented and friendly staff.
The display rack have products in the wrong spot with the price indicates one price. When you get to the register its a different price. Other than that. It’s super duper.
TERRIBLE customer-service experience at this guitar center. Spoke with a salesman named Jacob (or Jake, it was easy to remember since we had the same name) about selling them a used amp. He offered me a price that was less than half of what the amp was selling for used at guitar centers all over the state. My amp was in mint condition but he tried to tell me that they would have to sell it at a price well below what other stores were charging. The amp wasn’t the nicest amp on the market, but it was a good amp with 2X12 speakers that was well taken care of. Jake, however, told me that no-one would want it because other amps had better built-in distortions. I told him that this was a practice amp that was perfect for people playing in bands, people in bands typically don’t use the build-in distortion – they have effect pedals. However, Jake told me that people in bands ALWAYS use the built in effects of their amps. This is obviously OBSURD and demonstrates that the staff at this particular guitar center has NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.
Very few acoustic guitars, not one salesperson acknowledged my presence in the store.
I guess you need to be a musician to be worthy of help at Guitar Center. I called them earlier today because I wanted to purchase a banjo and lessons. I am not a musician and have never really played an instrument, but I have always wanted to learn to play Bluegrass on the banjo. The friendly gentlemen I spoke to on the phone (no need to mention names online) told me to come in and ask for him.
I went by there this afternoon and he said he had to leave for a lunch break, but he could show me where the banjos were located. So he pointed me to a wall of banjos and then left for his lunch break. I understand needing to take a lunch break…no worries at all…but I asked if someone else could help and supposedly someone was going to come help me.
So after standing there picking up random banjos for 20 minutes, and feeling like a total idiot, I went up to the front desk and asked for help and asked a couple of questions.
I was told he would check on my question. I walked around the store for about 10-15 minutes, always within sight of the front desk, and saw multiple people arrive and get help. I sat on a stool for a while and finally a different gentleman came up to answer my question and I said I came in to get a banjo and sign up for lessons and that I needed someone to show me the banjos and answer questions. I was interested in a nicer used one (more expensive) versus the lower-end new models. He asked me to wait a moment and he went to the desk to answer a returns questions for another sales rep. That was no problem, they are busy, but he then moved on and helped other people. I stood around for another 10 minutes or so thinking he would return. I again watched as they helped other people that not only came in after me, but even ones as they arrived through the door. And at different points in time the gentleman behind the desk was helping no one at all and even looked over at me a couple of times.
They were clearly very busy, and I do understand that. But I was ignored consistently and felt foolish. I had cash in hand and was ready to make the purchase. I was really disappointed and felt silly…like I really didn’t belong there.
I am not big on writing negative reviews, but this really bothered me so I thought I would share my experience so other people new to the music scene will at least be aware of my experience. Perhaps this was an anomaly…I just don’t know.
11. Saied Music Co
Address: 4300 Rogers Ave #55, Fort Smith, AR 72903 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Super-friendly and helpful, well-stocked, good prices, WIll go there again and again.
They are very friendly and have good service. I believe they are high on their prices.
They had the components I needed and were very helpful.
I bought a keyboard DGX-640 from this store which is cost $920. Then I realized the keyboard was not brand new and there was no box at all. Later, I did a research online, (Ebay, Amazon..etc.) and found that the original price was only $599 including everything. Most of the keyboards they are selling are not brand new at all. Be ware!
I showed them the kind of guitar strings I needed specifically not knowing entirely the name because they’re the experts right? I said I needed bullet strings for two fender guitars… they sold me a pack of “strings with the ball on the end” and when I opened the package they weren’t what I needed. A musical instrument store where the workers don’t know anything about musical instruments. Don’t waste your time or money or money, you’ll just be gaslit.
12. Shuffield Music Company
Address: 610 Main St, Arkadelphia, AR 71923 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Staff goes above and beyond . Well educated and a true music store where the owners have a passion for music
Gotta enjoy this place. I mostly go for strings for my guitars, primarily D’addario, Dunlop, and Exlir, which they carry here. I’ve bought the handful of others, though: straps, picks, cables (Stagg, to be exact). All solid and worth it. Quality stuff here.
My “go to” place for any band gear, lights and sound. Paul knows his stuff and is always ready to help. I love dealing with an Owner Operated family business.
Not to bad
Great local music store. We have shopped here for years.
Rude
Good place to buy guitars, don’t ask them to fix anything you own uness you want it damaged.
Needed some things for my sax and they had most everything I was looking for
I’ve never been in the store,I called looking for someone to do a repair an set up on my violin. They referred me to Bill Carter. The best most giving string instrument repair guy I’ve ever met. So they get 5 stars for that
Nice place for your instrument repair
They are great. But they closed the business. They still do instrument repairs from home though.
Very rude!
14. Saied Music Co
Address: 2880 Point Cir, Fayetteville, AR 72704 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
we needed a slide whistle. we got a slide whistle. thanks
Great area to buy and repair items of school instruments also very nice people
Always very helpful. Some hard to find items too.
The repair guys are always fantastic!
When I got there I was excited to be buying a ukulele something I’ve been wanting since I was little and when I asked how much taxes were because $82 up from the $54 seemed outrageous the man said idk and didn’t even check it just took an extra $21 and when I was asking questions about other instruments he had. No information literally making me. Still waiting on the money to be back in my account had to go to bed hungry tonight
Pretty great selection of instruments, however I felt extremely awkward with the staff and felt like my questions were intrusions. You could chalk this up to me just being anxious, but I would have much more appreciated an employee who could recommend stuff to me, and willing to help me find what I’m looking for. I’ll be going to A different shop to get what I need
Do not let them store your debit card on file. I have an unauthorized charge on my account. ONLY PAY THEM THROUGH THE WEBSITE, NOT OVER THE PHONE.
15. Guitar Center
Address: 160 E Joyce Blvd, Fayetteville, AR 72703 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Great places to get information about and test your products before you buy. Also you can get free lessons on everything in the store.
I go here for so much and all the time! Best crew to get you connected with the music gear you need. From mic stands, to looking up drum parts across the world, to great guitar set ups (a guy going through from Texas said these are his favorite gtr setups and he might just travel here for his setups) , this is a great guitar center!
Better services, and customer care
Nice selection. The staff wasn’t very attentive but other than that I would definitely go back.
Good service and a nice selection
They’ve usually always got what I need.
One star about sums it up, I believe . . .
Aron Baker drop the ball twice .when running promotions and not following up.
Terrible service. I ordered a peavey 6505 mh stack from there website that said it was available and ready to ship. Paid $115 for 2 day shipping and when it arrived today I find that they had only sent the cabinet with no head which is pretty much usless. When we called they told us that the head was on back order and wouldn’t be available for another two weeks and that they just hadn’t listed that on there website. If I had known that I wouldn’t have wasted my time or money on shipping.
16. River Valley Music Center
Address: 407 N Arkansas Ave Suite 5C, Russellville, AR 72801 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Love the selection and staff here. Their selection of Aria classical guitars is lovely, and their prices are fantastic!!! Everyone whom I have had the pleasure of visiting with has always been a delight to talk with as well. Was first referred up here by Josh over at Hippie Palace. Stop in and check them out; you will be pleased you did
Wonderful teachers very flexible schedules and I always feel at home being there!
Arrived around 1:00p.m. and doors were locked but lights were on. Luckily there was a kitchen gear store across the hall with the sweetest ladies running it (seriously, give them a visit they’re so nice) killed about 30 minutes in there before waiting on the hall an additional 20. Dude showed up and unlocked the door, I got excited, then he turned off the lights and relocked the doors. I just wanted some guitar string and a string winder… So yeah, Valley Piano was great, just go there
I’ve been by here twice to buy a guitar case and sign my kid up for lessons. First time they were closed (not a holiday) and the second time, they were open but no one was inside.
17. Been-Around Records & C D’s
Address: 1216 S University Ave, Little Rock, AR 72204 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
This place is a local store that has a large cult following. Store is amazing, owner friendly and helpful. I have been a patron of this store for 25 years. I would have never been able to afford or hear 80% of the music i was able to enjoy because of been around. I would say if you are into Vinyl than it is a must to go check out
My daughter loved it, lots of good CDs and a bigger cassette section than most. Well organized
Great service
Great guy that owns it… Place is crowded though
I went here for the first time on Saturday and I nearly emptied my bank account. If you’re like me and have odd taste in music you will surely find something here! The place was a little crowded but it looked like he was restocking his shelves with new merchandise which is always a good sign! Love this place!
Small and cluttered. I was looking for vinyl records. He seemed to have mostly 70s music. Did not have anything I was looking for. The good thing about this place are the prices. You actually get a deal here unlike a different record store in LR we visited.
So the times say 10am-6pm but…I get here at five and it’s closed, kind of disappointed.
Went there to try and sell some CDs and record and cassette tapes and they were not open the hours said Monday to Friday was 10 am till 5 pm no body there.
Shop was closed when i turned up within the opening hours. I will not be returning. Difficult to park there fyi
18. Record Rack
Address: 2801 S Olive St, Pine Bluff, AR 71603 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Excellent people and products love the relaxed atmosphere great place!!!!
Should be a record rack in every city
Only place in town with such items. Music, jewelry, metaphysical items, essential oils, incense, games, items for the bedroom , etc. Lots of other items. Very nice and helpful owner and employees.
Good
Love this place. If u love good music and want the original cds n not the edited versions then this is the place to go. Also the only place like that in Pine Bluff.
I’m so glad they sales ticket, for the major attractions.
It not all the names says. You would think they would have more records then anything else. And this is not a store to bring kids in to.
19. Steinway Piano Gallery Little Rock
Address: 657 AR-365, Mayflower, AR 72106 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
These guts are real piano technicians, not self taught tuners. Tim is wonderful. He has tuned both of my Kawai pianos- my grand and my studio-height upright. I played the grand after he finished today, and it is amazing how crisp, yet rich and full it sounded after he finished. Their price is amazing. So glad my friend recommended Steinway Piano Gallery.
I was sad to see my old Baldwin grand go, but the pin block was shot. I purchased a used Kawai grand from Stephen and have been very happy with both the piano and expert tuning services he has provided. In the process, I was given ample time to play floor models, and Stephen expertly handled the delivery and removal of my old piano. I highly recommend Stephen Wirges and his associates at Steinway Piano Gallery in Mayflower, AR.
The movers were on time, professional, and made sure that the piano was exactly where we wanted it placed before they left. I have been a music educator for 25 years, and I highly recommend Steinway Piano Gallery Little Rock for you piano moving needs!
20. FYE
Address: 4501 Central Ave #142, Hot Springs, AR 71913 , Obón , Arkansas , United States
Glad this place is still here! My husband and I travel just to go to this store! Only place in the mall that has much value!
The salesperson made sure i found what i needed fast,!
Very clean! Helpful! Kind! 🙂
They didn’t have PSD I was looking for
The customer service is okay and has plenty of good stuff to sell
Great spot and a great anime spot for the anime crowd
False advertising
BOGO beanies (no exclusions listed) are not BOGO….they are BOGO with exclusions. I spoke with 2 staff members who could or would not help and there was no manager.
Take the signs down or honor them.
I wouldn’t get even one star spent over $50 on DVD they play for 20 min and start skipping this is the third time this is happened called to see about a refund and the manger wouldn’t listen to what I had to say he keep interrupting me I would say just save your money and stay away from this store if u don’t want the headache
Wandered into the Hot Springs Mall location. Yes, there is so much to look at but the prices are stupid high even with whatever sale they have going. Second, my 16 year old daughter was purchasing a marvel canvas and the clerk talked her into a 10% discount by signing up for a music online service that had a rotating fee. The clerk knew it was for adults over 18 years old but still convinced her to sign up. My daughter was happy about the discount when she told me outside but when I read the print at the bottom I had to explain what it meant and the clerk never told her. I went back into the store and confront the clerk who admitted to doing so to a child because she even admitted she gave a false date of birth to do the subscription. I talked with the manager about policies and procedures. Not happy with what happened.
