What a great place to browse for books! A great addition to our vacation. A great variety and atmosphere.
Fun place – books, collectible toys, antiques, lots of stuff for kids and grownups.
The book store and the neighboring yesterday’s fun are great places to visit for locals and tourists alike! With excellent prices and large selection of books toys it is fun for children and adults alike.
Meh. Not a great selection.
Way too crowded.
Neee more of a selection.
4. Drifting Grounds Coffee House
Address: 117 Atlantic Ave, Ocean View, DE 19970 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
Great coffee shop! Plenty of seating, great pastries and food! Coffee is good but more on the acidic side. All you really need is a splash of cream or a packet of sugar. I highly recommend this little coffee shop! Support the local business!
Decent cup of Joe at good price
A fine coffee shop in a dank spot that includes a hip bookshop and a retro toy store. Swing by, you won’t be disappointed!
Great coffee, friendly service and artwork for sale by local artists. What more can you ask for.
Good coffee. Espresso drinks with flavor are a little too sweet.
Asked for cold brew coffee blended with ice instead of over ice. Was told their blender can’t do that. Guess I’ll continue getting my coffee at the Juice Box where they are accommodating.
5. Sonority Records, Inc.
Address: 34029 Peppers Corner Rd, Frankford, DE 19945 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
New store now open in the old grocery store next door. Seems well laid out. Had plenty of what I went in to purchase.
Our community hardware store is the best! Home Depot & Lowes has nothing this store and the customer service is impeccable!
A REAL Hardware Store with excellent service.
Great service. Store has everything a handyman needs.
Awesome service
Thank you
Usually have what is needed, not this time.
Today at the new store I waited in line for a while to purchase an item. Ok it is what it is. I asked if they sold lumber to which I was directed to the warehouse. Upon my arrival three gentlemen were outside but none were interested in assisting me. The person who begrudgingly helped me named “Bob the Builder” must of been offended when I asked him what the actual dimensions of a 1×4 were? In a very condescending tone, he kept repeating 1x 4.
I do know that the
real width is not 4 ” but not sure of the true length. I then asked “Bob the Builder ” the price as to which he didn’t know. He told me to go back wait in line and ask them. I again asked if he could just call and explained I had just waited in line, could he just call and ask. He became totally indifferent at that point and flat out said Nope, they are too busy he’s not calling them. When I conveyed to him that I would not do that, his response was something to the tune of good don’t buy it and “why don’t you just go back to where you came from” . What does that even mean? His verbal attack was totally unprovoked .This person was very rude and totally unprofessional. I will never patronize any Hocker establishment ever again. If I could give them a real assessment it would be in the negative.
Just wanted to exchange a $10 valve for a different size. They wouldn’t do it without a receipt. I’d prefer to shop local, but when the big guys treat you far better, it’s not worth spending the extra money on over priced items to do so. Last time at Hockers for me.
Awful service. Came in to get some screws, asked for help no one helped. Then when at the register was told to go back to find a price. Not returning. Very disappointed.
10. Bethany Beach Books
Address: 99 Garfield Pkwy, Bethany Beach, DE 19930 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
This book store was great for a local book store. It’s neat and organized and the staff are friendly and give great recommendations when asked. They usually have a local author doing a book signing and they have a special shelf just for local authors. The store has some cheaper things and more expensive things. The notebooks here are a little pricey. They offer a great selection and have a variety of books. It’s a great little store which I would highly recommend dropping into when you are there
It’s a really nice store with a wide range of all kinds of books. But I was a little put out by the unfriendliness of the two cashiers. I bought three items totaling $28 and was asked if I wanted a bag. Of course, I need a bag as I’m walking the streets and boardwalk and don’t want to carry three items in my hand. Also, I was informed after I inserted my credit card, I was being charged a one dollar surcharge for using a credit card. I didn’t see that posted anywhere and didn’t appreciate a fee for it after the fact. I realize some places have a minimum for charging but $28 dollars should have been enough of a purchase without having to incur a fee.
Friendly staff!
Nice store and staff. Conveniently located right at Bethany Beach inlet. Nice staff. The selection is small but the quality of books is very good and they cover a broad range of genres.
We went here on a rainy day during our vacation with our two and four year old boys. We read books with them in the children’s section and perused the store, which was empty save for one other family with a young child. The boys were fully supervised the entire time and did not disturb any of the merchandise. My husband and sons were watching the rain as I walked to the desk to purchase our books, when the clerk critically looked at my children and recommended that we leave and visit the library instead. I was shocked and remarked that our children had been well behaved, quiet, and supervised the entire time during our visit. She agreed, but complained that they were standing at the windows and climbing into the chairs. I replied that they were reading books in the chairs with us, and were watching the rain through the windows, not bothering anyone or any merchandise. She argued that there were cords near the windows and asked us again to leave. I was, and am still, completely shocked. Our children didn’t bother any merchandise, disturb any customers, were completely supervised, and we were planning to purchase some books. Instead of asking us to not sit near the window, we were asked to leave. Just horrible customer service. I would not recommend this store to any one, especially families with children.
Was not happy with customer service.
They have a large extra fee for using credit card.
Square reader fees charge businesses less than 3 or 4 percent. Others charge less. If you buy a $15 book here, you pay the bookstore 7 percent.
I don’t believe businesses should attempt to pass this nickel/dime fee on to customers.
11. Ocean View Jewelers
Address: 35785 Atlantic Ave, Millville, DE 19967 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
Awesome service. Needed a watch link removed and was in and out in no time at all. Highly recommend.
Took my engagement ring in to be looked at because it had 2 broken prongs and a broken bridge after 30 years. Jeweler recommenced a new setting and showed me some options. Now have a gorgeous ring in a beautiful setting that will hopefully last another 30 years! So glad we have a local jeweler. I am extremely pleased with OVJ and am so thankful for my new ring!!
My engagement ring and wedding band were custom made by these folks. They were amazing through the whole process – even when I changed my design!! It clear that they take pride in their work and to make sure their customers are happy. My husband and I plan to go to them for all of our jewelry needs in the future. I can’t recommend them enough!!!
Severely overpriced for repairs & their jewelry. Then again , we are in a resort town w/ no competition what do ever!!
12. Beach Music
Address: 9809 Stephen Decatur Hwy, Ocean City, MD 21842 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
Great, great staff, very informative, good selection too
Darren is very knowledgeable and knows how to work on guitars.
Found my shecter guitar here! It is awesome to have a local music store that has great instruments and I’ve always had a good experience with the staff. It is also very nice to not have to travel 30mins for a new set of strings when you happen to break one : )
Can be convenient for a quick pich and you need something. Otherwise better suited for getting instrument lessons.
I’d like to like this place more. The selection and prices are good and it is worth your time but all the cool stuff is on the front wall and not for sale. Keep your collection in your own home and don’t tempt me. How many times a day do you have to tell people “I’m sorry that’s not for sale” before it dawns on you? Also, they could use the space. If they have a lesson going on then you can’t demo anything. Again, I’d like to like this place more but they need to think things through a little better….
Business has been there 17 years so definitely got the goods but staff not very friendly! They do lessons but not with that attitude would they teach my kid…just saying!
The single worst, most useless guitar store on the eastern seaboard. I string my 8 string electric with about a .58 gauge string on the bottom, then the A bass string of a similar pack, then medium electric strings. When I said I wanted a 58 for my bottom string, he sells my mom a pack of .50 bass strings and light acoustic strings, almost a point skinnier than my 58 and a whole lot smaller than my slightly beefy electric strings. I said a 58 and he literally said he didn’t know what I was talking about. This place is great for mindless purchases like picks and tuners but completely worthless for anything else. Don’t go here unless you want to be scammed.
Opened the store door, a dog rushed out. Next a man ( the owner ) pushed me aside and chased after the dog. With dog in tow, he asked if he could help me. I told him I’m here to look around. He said no, I’m giving a lesson you can come back in 10 or 15 minutes. No sorry from the owner, just a rude attitude. I search different area guitar shops ( I’m on vacation ) for vintage or unique guitars. This place from the outside looked interesting. My 15 second glance inside proved me wrong. The place is a mess, and after that not so welcoming reception, forget about it!!
Went in store to purchase guitar, the owner said to me as I walked in that he was in a private music guitar lesson to someone, and seemed upset someone came in his store. What a joke looks like he lost out of a major purchase .Going to guitar center to purchase a gibson. Real star rating is negative 10

Great place filled with instruments, music accessories, and a knowledgeable staff
Great experience here today! Calum and the dude with lighter long hair were awesome. They didn’t hound me, but they were helpful when I needed assistance. I went in to buy strings and ended up with a new guitar (and strings)! Thanks and I appreciate the friendly customer service!
Excellent selection of fine instruments and accessories. Guitar items and lots of gear for reed players.
I lot of choices

15. SALT Provisions
Address: 123 Garfield Pkwy, Bethany Beach, DE 19930 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
Very cute store!
A lovely variety of products, although a little pricey, the quality is very clearly really high. Some products seem artisanal, and very unique or handmade.
The displays are gorgeous, and the beauty products in the back were the highlight of our shopping.
I love this store so much. It’s got everything – from clothing to candles to bacon jam. Great gifts and local brands. My favorite stop every time I come to Bethany.
My husband and I love this store so much – it’s our favorite place to go down in Bethany!
I bought something online. After two weeks it still hasn’t shipped, no one responds over email and I have heard nothing. Horrible business practices.
16. Millsboro Music
Address: 28482 Dupont Blvd, Millsboro, DE 19966 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
Because there are so many cool things here and its like a country store
This is a cute little store but as soon as the lady started complaining about “outsiders” we walked out. If it wasn’t for the “outsiders” this store wouldn’t exist. I won’t be back there again. Let the locals pay your bills.
Wonderful country gift and antique shop
It was really cute, but definitely a spot for older people to shop. They have a lot of home decorating items
We really loved all the thing in here i would pretty much pack up & buy everthing in this little country store if i had the space & money must go see & vrry friendly staff.
18. Sorella Amore LLC
Address: 32630 Cedar Dr, Millville, DE 19967 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
What a wonderful place! Melissa and Tiffany were the best hosts! We had my daughter’s Squishmallow 8th Birthday Party in the adorable party room. They had everything we needed, we brought our own decorations, but the room was so pretty, we barely needed them. Tiffany created a custom craft and the kids had so much fun making their Squishmallow bags. The shop itself has the cutest stuff and parents were able to shop while kids partied. I loved how these ladies were able to bring my daughter’s party vision to life!
Had an amazing experience on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Great shop with all kinds of neat gifts and the DIY room of kids dreams! So many options and reasonably priced!
Great items and excellent service! Melissa and Tiffany at Sorella Amore went out of their way to make sure I could get the item I wanted and were very nice and professional. I definitely recommend their business!

Have you been searching for the perfect piece of jewelry? You’ll find it here, for any reason, be it a gift or for your personal collection. The most interesting pieces and they are very knowledgeable about what they have. I got the most lovely garnet ring at an amazing price! They even knew the history. If you aren’t shopping here you are missing out.
Rhonda and her sales associate are wonderful. I had a great time looking around their beautiful store. I also found some wonderful finds. It’s a must for any antiquers. Please visit them.
Used computer repair shop at same location. Fixed the problem and cost was reasonable. Nathan the owner is very knowledgeable.
Had some coins appraised and bought by appraiser. 1st Saturday of every month
20. Raye of Light Studio
Address: 117 Atlantic Ave unit 3F, Ocean View, DE 19970 , Ocean View , Delaware , United States
Yesterday I attended the beginner’s watercolor class, Coastal Tides, at Raye of Light Studio. The studio is a lovely, very relaxing place. Kathy is a very good and very patient instructor, particularly if you are a bit timid or unsure of yourself or your “artistic talent”. I look forward to taking more watercolor classes and also trying another medium as well. I highly recommend!
Fun acrylic wave class. Kathy makes it very enjoyable for all participants. Studio is lovely. Just a gem of a place to experience.
What a pleasure and great learning experience I had with my friends and others this past Wednesday at Raye of Light Art Studio. Kathy is an outstanding teacher and her studio is outfitted beautifully for all entering it. It was so much fun learning about the many techniques of working with watercolors. I am anxious to practice, practice, and practice so I too can create some of the beautiful pieces of watercolor artwork I saw displayed on the walls of this crisp, smart looking studio. I look forward to returning to Kathy’s place many more times. Thanks again for the lesson in watercolors, I learned a lot.
My first lesson in painting with a pallet knife! It was such a great experience. As a lifelong artist looking to learn new techniques; this will enhance and refresh my skills. It was a pleasure meeting Kathy in her new studio by the beach. She is an experienced teacher with a passion for the joy attained by creating.
Truly a most for artists of all levels and ages!
