Kristin played the piano at our wedding at the State Botanical Gardens, and did a marvelous job! She has a great repertoire of both traditional and classical pieces, and played our selections beautifully! I would not hesitate to recommend Kristen to anyone needing a lovely pianist for a special event. Thank you, Kristin!
My son wanted to take on piano. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon, and even though they were closed, the co-owner spoke with us, and set up a trial lesson with Mr. Tom.
Tom, is an amazing teacher. He is patient, fun, energetic with my son, which makes learning something new so much fun. Tom, comes out after every session to tell me what they went over, as well as what to work on. (Even when I was not at the last session, he messaged me to update me on my child’s progress)
I am extremely pleased with Oconee Music, and would recommend them to anyone who would want to pick up music.
We bring our 14 month old son to the music classes here and they are great! Ms. Amber is kind and welcoming. We’re so happy to have Oconee Music in the community!
So, this was a 5 day morning camp. My child made many new and like minded friends…she had a wonderful time. There was an adoreable recital at last day of camp. The ladies are very nice….and they seem to enjoy the kids very much. My child loved camp…and liked both ladies.
It was advertised online (and in a phone conversation) as a working camp. No way to really tell how that went…as…
We were never provided with a syllabus, or schedule of any sort regarding daily activities…or camp goals…etc…and we were not allowed to remain there in order to see the activity, ever. It was a strictly drop off/pick up arrangement. There has been no recap or assessment regarding our child’s work…progress… or places she might like to focus on improving…since end of camp.
There were a couple of young teens….majority of campers were very young….and it appeared that the more experienced and novices participants were all lumped together.
Seeing that we werent allowed to have any insight into what was happening…
It would be extremely hard to make a fair assesment about rating the camp on what, if anything, we feel our child learned that appears to be even slightly equivalent to the money we spent.
Totally didnt love the 3 hr wait each day in Watkinsville…Watkinsville is a really nice little town (emphasis on little)….having said that….hasnt got much to offer to do to kill 3 hrs from 8:45 AM – noon….5 days in a row.

Jimmy has anything and everything you are looking for… From the classics to the new stuff, in every genre. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT.
Jimmy has a great collection including the classics but also a lot of newer and more current artists! He also knows a lot of rock lore and can tell you some great stories
Quaint, but energetic spot for record collectors. Jimmy is a good guy with a great selection of new and vintage vinyl at reasonable prices. Love doing business with him whenever I can.
4. Full Moon Studio
Address: 10 School St, Watkinsville, GA 30677 , Oconee County , Georgia , United States
I purchased a gift card and they were so easy to deal with!!!
I emailed them and they responded almost immeadiately answering all my questions and put me in touch with the musician the gift card recipient would need!
If the experience with the music school class is as pleasant as getting the gift card i’m pumped to give it as a Christmas gift!!
My son loves his lessons at Full Moon!! If you are looking to enroll in lessons, this is the place! Mr Spencer rocks!!
5. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Oconee County , Georgia , United States
Visited this store yesterday for the first time and had a phenomenal experience. Me Ed was absolutely awesome in how he treated me and my family. This store was not pushy at all and left me be while I looked around and played several different guitars. Then as I had decided Mr Ed made sure it exactly what I wanted. I had a great experience here and will be returning. I buy a lot of guitars and this was by far the most pleasurable and easy buying experience I’ve ever had. Thank you Mr Ed and your staff for being so friendly and helpful.
Excellent, extensive, beautiful inventory. Super knowledgeable, very friendly owner! Can highly recommend!
Fun store with very helpful staff!
Check out the new location!
Very nice store but not a great variety of guitars
Professional assistance provided.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
My son loves learning guitar with Full Moon. They are laid back, but very experienced, and a lot of fun!
The best place locally for my musician! The instructors are extremely talented and thorough, and have inspired her to pursue her love of music. We’ll stay forever.
Excellent school with great instructors. My son has enjoyed going for two years!
9. Classic City Vintage Guitars
Address: 149 Oneta St Unit 6A1, Athens, GA 30601 , Oconee County , Georgia , United States
Easily the best guitar shop in Athens, and possibly the best I’ve ever seen. Fantastic deals on vintage guitars!
Dylan took my 1948 Gibson and fixed the broken tailpiece and refretted it. I now trust him with all my vintage repairs!
I drove up from Gainesville to grab a rubber bridge guitar after a strong recommendation from a friend. It’s an incredible addition to my collection and I’ll definitely be back for more vibey vintage pieces.
10. Greer Amps
Address: 160 Winston Dr Unit 11, Athens, GA 30607 , Oconee County , Georgia , United States
Beautiful music for our wedding and so easy to work with – what more can you ask for?
Classic City Strings performed the music for our Wedding this October – and it really set the tone for the entire event – live string music! Our guests loved it and it was so memorable. I would highly recommend them for anyone planning a Wedding or other event!
Athena quartet played the music for our wedding ceremony. They were so easy to communicate and work with, prompt, and really just masters at what they do. The quartet added some extra elegance to our ceremony, and all of our guests talked about how beautiful the music was!
After multiple great experiences with Classic City Strings, I can say that they’re the best! Whether it is a concert, worship, recording, or other setting, these musicians are always right on spot. Professional in every way, yet pleasant and easy-going, they get the job done with musical excellence and aplomb. Thank you for all your kindness and beautiful music-making, Jennifer, Alison, and Eunice!
12. The Record Booth
Address: 1743 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605 , Oconee County , Georgia , United States
One of if not the best place in Athens for vinyl. Everything is reasonably priced and I have found albums here that I’d never seen anywhere else.
Really cool record store
This place has great inventory. Many titles you dont see very often, and of course all the popular commons as well. The higher end stuff was priced accurately. There is a large discount bin as well. The booth is in an antique store, which also has cool stuff. Great experience all-around.
Note: This is a booth inside an antiques store. Good prices and selections for this booth of both records and CDs.
This place is a booth inside Lexington Antiques, this is a great place to find deals on vintage ephemera, post cards, cook books, photos, records, toys, dishes, jewelry, garden items, marbles, a few clothes, they also offer paint classes
I love this Best Buy because they always take care of me everytime l come in with new needs they go above and beyond to make sure my family get what they need whether its a new car speaker because my Ex-man decide to blast the radio to the max & blew the subwoofer out to damaging the amp. New Kicker Subwoofer for $83 and fix the wiring problem solved. Whether its a deal on new 40in T.V. for $140 because stepdad didn’t want to help mount it so Son did it and learn how to mount it but crack screen in process. Washer machine door broke off so ask for Geek squad they said they dont fix cosmetics but its the door they trying to help with this one. Brought a new microwave because the old one gave out. Move into a house with electric stove when l always had a gas stove. So they actually help me get a Stove for less then 300 with warranty with open box item. The stove was in brand new condition with no problems. So yes this store is awesome. Go see for yourself. Proud mother of Seven kids this store keep us going
Didn’t have what I needed, but computer and TV guys were very helpful.
Really lovely people working hard to get customer the best solution! After a long waiting period where my laptop was shipped out for repairs, it came back still broken and without the expensive accessories that I had turned in with it. Geek Squad and managers in store were wonderful and patient working with me to get a new computer that better suited my needs and honored the cost of the protection plan and lost property in the exchange.
buena atención…
I would be so bored and lost without best buy. The staff is friendly and helpful. I. Some how find great deals and enjoy everything. Updateded Review as of December 7,2018. This is the second pair of Klipsch headphones I’ve bought because headphones R one thing I will spend extra money on. The first pair I lost, but this second pair, which I tried to return last night because one ear phone went out. The customer service rep told me even though it was a year warranty, I needed to contact Klipsh that they would not exchange or let me return them there at the stores I mean she didn’t even bother asking anyone if it were possible. Well, turns out not only is it possible, but that is the only way to get a refund. Well, so the guy said do u just want cash back? Since I paid with cash? But since I was told the wrong throng I hAd already bought another pair of Dre’s, but that wa gonna be too much work to return those and then give me the difference bCk in cash. I was forced to keep the Dres and given store credit in the amount of the Klipsch. You know what that’s called. Someone not wanting to do a little something extra and make me pay when I was supposed to get them replaced or repairedz. I’m very disappointed! An elite member as well!
It’s ok
Do not buy appliances here – the delivery process is a mess and you will be lucky to get delivery once you actually get a date (that will not be close to date of purchase). They randomly don’t show up, don’t notify you, then set your appliance back to a status of “waiting for customer to schedule delivery”. There is no way for Best Buy call center to contact dispatch and address problems. Their policy states you will only be charged for the appliance once its delivered, but I got charged a week before a delivery that never happened. Use Lowes or Home Depot instead.
Six months (along with Samsung–the blame should be distributed evenly) failing to repair a television, after a dozen maintenance visits and part swaps. Three weeks avoiding a Samsung approved store exchange, going as far as to avoid my calls (if I hadn’t called their main corporate number, I’d still be waiting on that). And then they couldn’t even meet their own appointment to deliver the replacement. And then they didn’t even send an email to reschedule. Lesson learned: don’t buy a television from them again. I know I won’t. They’ve actually managed to fail every single step of this process over the last half-year, a genuinely impressive level of incompetency or malice.
Went in there twice in the last six months, stood and walked around for over 20 minutes waiting on help and wanting to purchase things. Was told each time someone would be with me when they were done with their current customer. Never saw that employee again. Hate going in there unless I have to.
