I’ve been in there several times I was in there today and picked up a couple pieces of used vinyl in good shape at a fair price. I’ve bought some new vinyl a couple of times at reasonable prices. I’ve enjoyed the store as the merchandise is growing and the ability to have genres in stock .I wish them well in their business
Great store for you to go buy vinyls and appreciate the music more
Thanks for helping us pick out an awesome present for this birthday kid! Love the new store!
This store is very good. Although they play heavy rock (I dont know the exact genre), pretty loud, and they have a great selection on vinyls. I came in to look at the new store and came out with 3 vinyls. They didn’t have a record player I was looking for, but I wouldn’t expect them to, due to it also being a skater shop. All in all, this store is great, and they have a large selection in all they sell.
I don’t usually write reviews but have to say the gentlemen at Harris Band Instruments are highly professional. They are just what others have said before me…knowledgeable and friendly. A big thank you at Harris for assisting in making my son’s presentation that much more interesting. He earned an A+ and was invited to a county competition.
Knowledgeable and friendly
Great place with friendly knowledgeable staff.
8. Dollar General
Address: 12861 GA-142, Oxford, GA 30054 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
Always love shopping at Dollar General. Most employees here are very nice.
Pretty general idea if dollar general staff was usual. They had everything we needed.
Easy stop on the way home for items
Good store friendly staff. A little cluttered.
Great
Wider selection than you would expect. Easy in and out. Staple items fairly priced
Refrigerated items a plus.
Place sucks never has anything in store. Spose to close at 10:00 pm but I went at 9:45 and woman told me and others she was already closed. But store doesn’t close until 10:00 pm
I live a mile from this store, but when I have to pick up more than a couple of items, I will drive into town to another Dollar General. Why? This store has two shopping carts and 90% of the time, those carts are full of items that need to be put on shelves. There is never a manager on duty, or at least that’s what you’re told by the employees.
Never fully stocked.
9. Music & Arts
Address: 1596 Dogwood Dr SE B, Conyers, GA 30013 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
This is a wonderful store! The staff is very friendly and experienced in all things musical!
Friendly staff and great environment!
Music and Arts ain Conyers Georgia is a great place to visit. The staff is very courteous and helpful. They match Guitar Center’s coupons which is nice. They are always helpful to look up any item that is not in the store. I enjoy visiting the store periodically just to talk with the staff when I am in Conyers as well as to buy items when I am needing them. I have bought three guitars and they can make any adjustments you need to you gear. I have bought several guitar pedals as well and miscellaneous studio gear. They stand by their products! I recommend anyone that is in Conyers to drop by for any musical needs. Thank you all!
Need more and a greater variety of stock, but awesome place otherwise.
Very helpful I got exactly what I needed and nothing else.
Buyer BEWARE of unsatisfactory customer service and possible discrimination… Don’t be fooled by the cheerful “welcoming”. After completing the “rent to own” paperwork, I was presented with a horrifying, overly scratched clarinet. Asked for more options to choose from and a particular brand. I was told that it was the last one in stock and it would take a month to locate another. As I proceeded to step away from the deal/contract, MIRACULOUSLY, he offered to check the inventory again. No thank you, attempted to forcefully initiate a contract on a below standard instrument. Went to a different store and purchased a one-owner Yamaha clarinet that appears brand new. New to instrument rental, but is nobody’s fool!
Went for a guitar setup, my guitar was returned with the tremelo bridge so low that it slammed into the guitar body cavity. Also they used lemon oil on a maple neck which is a no go for me. Did not make a scene there because my son was with me. Essentially paid $50 for a new set of strings which werent weren’t installed correctly. My guitar has locking tuners yet they still wrapped the strings. Spent 2 hours fixing my guitar myself. I would advise everyone to steer clear. If you need a guitar setup, go to a luthier.
Went there to buy a pair of sticks for my student and the employ acted as if I wasn’t even there and simply didn’t care. She wasn’t welcoming at all, I didn’t even get a simple “hello”, just a stare. Then when I seen that the product wasn’t there I asked if they carried the product she told me “if it’s not there then we don’t have it or just look harder” and proceeded to talk to who ever she was speaking too.
10. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
Jackson’s is a great local business! Their education reps are always especially helpful with our instrument rentals, repairs, and equipment needs and go out of their way to make sure we have everything we need in our band room.
Sons trumpet was having a valve issue. Jacob was able to fix it in no time. Super grateful for his speedy assistance!!
i had an issue about paying extra for financing but the owner Jo called me to make it right. just ask about the interest free financing before purchasing. staff is friendly but financing was a different story
I like buying local. I got good service on a brass instrument repair. ( I didn’t try to use a pick )
I come here for instrument repairs. I’m a professional musician that need his instrument asap. Mark at this location always fixes my sax perfectly. I’m going for a repad in the next two weeks
Very friendly staff. They make you understand about the different instruments if you have no knowledge about it.
I called to see if they could do a repair on my son’s flute. They said to bring it in, they could do it but would charge an extra
20% for a rush job. I dropped it off and called in the next day to see if the repairs had been done, as my son had a Christmas concert he needed it for. I got Doug the repair man on the phone. He said he doesn’t do rush jobs and he was way to busy to deal with it. He treated me very unprofessional and they honestly don’t care about keeping anyone’s business. Please don’t waste your time here as I did.
My music teacher wants me to have a metronome. Went in looking for a metronome. They didn’t have any, which was odd for a music store, but I wasn’t upset about it. On my way out, another associate clarified that they don’t carry metronomes because most people simply use their phones; totally reasonable. I clarified that I prefer a physical metronome, and I’d look somewhere else. The associate then told me that “professionals and real musicians use the app” and undermined my preference for a physical one. “The customer is always right” is not a maxim held by Jackson’s music. They assert that they know best, and in my experience come across as somewhat unhelpful and arrogant.
this store is downright awful. the service is terrible and they try to pull every penny out of your pockets. small fixes can be charge to up to $200 and is downright despicable.
11. All Star Music Center
Address: 3981 Athens Hwy, Loganville, GA 30052 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
John is a wizard…He has worked on 3 of my guitars and has made them all sound like new…All Star Rocks…I’m a customer for life or until John expires..LOL…you can give him a stick and a shoe string and he will tune it up…MUCH LOVE ALL STAR
Been dealing with this bloke for years, will continue 2 do so..
This was the store I always had available to me throughout childhood. Everyone there has always been nothing but nice, and even helped make minor adjustments to guitars for me growing up at no charge. Fantastic place!
Great owner; he didn’t perform the type of repair I needed for violin, but he contacted his buddy who made the repairs for less than $80.
John is always really helpful but the other guy gives the cold shoulder alot of the time. Overall though, great store.
Guy running the store was very helpful and knowlegable.
I’ve been here 3 times during store hours. nobody at the store go to another shop.
Literally 4:08pm on a Saturday I show up. They were not open. Sign on the door says 10am-6pm. Very disappointed.
Place needs to just close! doubt me, go see what I’m talking about.

Magic. Love these guys ♥️ Studio, sound everything ❤️
A very talented team at Tunedesigner! They make the process of producing a song unitimidating, easy and accessible. They’re selection of tune-ready songs is very cool… Great communicators as well!
13. Group Music
Address: 1042 Chestnut Oak Ct NE, Conyers, GA 30012 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
I brought my daughter here to see about getting the lower half of her clarinet fixed. The two gentleman working were very helpful and professional. We left our clarinet there to get sent off for repairs and while we wait we got a rental clarinet. The process was headache free and quick!
We’ve been coming here for months for lessons and I can’t say enough about Mr. Keltner and Ms. Kelly. They are phenomenal. Such a great staff. Dallas is a great instructor. Overall a Great location highly recommended and we appreciate all their hard work.
Always pleasant staff working. Never a bad visit. They go above and beyond to help customers. I was able to order stick from another location thanks to Kelly!
It had what I needed, so that was good. However, the staff seemed like they would’ve loved to be anywhere but at work.
16. Music & Arts
Address: 5236 Stone Mountain Hwy, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
If I’m driving two plus hours from Chattanooga, you know it’s a great place.
Awesome place I have gone to this music go round for years incredible people working there as well! The most Incredibly friendly honest and laid back sales people ever. This is definitely my favorite music store in Atlanta. You have no idea what you’ll find. If you have never been plan to give your self plenty of time to look/hunt around. One thing I will say from experience is that outside of guitars, amps and probably band instruments they aren’t often too helpfull but aside from that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for some great gear at an incredible bargain. Go there NOW!
Have been a proud buyer and seller at this location for over 2 years. You literally can’t beat it. Thanks guys
Awesome!! Geeat music shop. Good service by employers
Ok
Very knowledgeable staff for any instruments. Learners to pros.
If I could give no stars, I would. My daughter found a violin ONLINE that she called this store and asked about. A friend of mine wanted to purchase it with his credit card and have it shipped as a gift to my daughter in Kansas. They refused to let him purchase it with his credit card and ship it somewhere besides his billing address. He called them, and I thought maybe he was just coming across harshly; therefore, I called them. I spoke to Josh (I think that was his name). He told me that they had someone arrested just last week for fraud, and shipping it out somewhere besides the billing address is a “red flag.” Really?? I asked to speak to a manager, and he said that they “manage themselves.” Interesting. I apologized that I would not be purchasing the violin from them, and his response? “We’ll survive.” All I can say is that my daughter’s violin won’t come from this place, nor will I recommend this place. You have products online, people. It is Christmas. They aren’t going to want to purchase something that they can’t ship to someone out of State. You’ll survive, though.
Also, just so the owner is also aware, Josh basically told my friend who planned to by the violin that he would like to have the conversation with my friend in Duluth, GA, and accused him of trying to pull a fast one on him. Over a violin? C’mon! He asked to speak to the owner, and Josh told him he would have to email the owner When my friend told him he was calling from Houston, he hung up on him.
I don’t think training is going to change the cocky attitude.
Cheap, well used gear.
Stay away and do not support this joke of a music store…Look at anything advertised on their site. Then look at the shipping cost! For example, they charge $96 to ship a 3 pound cymbal! What tops the cake is the worst customer service you receive via phone or direct email. “We rather sell it in the store that’s why we charge so much for shipping.” Yeah, you read right: I actually was verbally told this via phone…and to back this up, they refuse to give the business owners name and claim the “Floor Manager Naeem” is the store owner and shot caller…who is the reason behind this disgusting practice. Ann Wood is the owner. Be sure to call and ask for her if you have the same issues and she’s the real problem. This review was posted after experiencing the same situation twice here, and four other times nationwide. Do not buy anything here, shop where service and fair market value is the standard.
19. Music & Arts
Address: 12182 Hwy 92, Woodstock, GA 30188 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
Cailey S. helped me tremendously when I went to the store on 3/25/2020. She was amazing! She tuned my guitar and showed me how to use a tuner, she certainly took the time and she was such a very pleasant person. She should be the next in line for promotion. She’s great with customers. Ellen of Woodstock
Great little music store. Super convenient. Surprising selection. Really nice people.
That guy Blake has kinda weird hair, but he hooked me up with a distortion petal so he’s pretty ok.
Good service and very knowledgeable
Will not use them again. We had a signed contract for a rental and after several months, they realized that they made a mistake on the pricing. They did not honor their agreement and changed the terms and we had to pay higher price. Signed agreements mean nothing to them.
The lady who waited on us basically turned us down on every option we had to schedule a fitting for an instrument. She didn’t have very good customer service skills. Seems if she wanted our business she would have said “let me see when we can do this for you”. I realize it is a busy time of year but it is not the customer’s fault. I called the Johnson’s Ferry store in Marietta and was met with a much friendlier response.
Went to this location to rent a Cello because that is where the school told us to go. Despite calling to confirm they have every size Cello available, upon arriving, I was told by the Associate that she does not have anything to size my child for a Cello. When I told her we were sent to this store and if she can’t help us we would have to find a store that could, she said she was sorry that she could not help us and allowed us to walk out of the store. Will not be renting or buying from this store ever!
20. Musician’s Warehouse
Address: 245 N Lumpkin St, Athens, GA 30601 , Oxford , Georgia , United States
Just had the best experience at Musician’s Warehouse! Ed, the owner, was so helpful. We picked up a Yamaha drum kit. Our first kit, and they were super patient and helpful in showing us how to set it up, hello us choose the right sticks, and giving tips for beginners on things we may need down the line. Highly recommend!!
Shoutout to Ed! He’s the man. I’ve had to come in on several occasions to borrow stuff last minute for our gigs and he’s nothing but a great guy who loves to help! Him and his employees are always super helpful!
Professional assistance provided.
Nice selection of stringed and percussion instruments. Pretty decent prices, too.
Check out the new location!
Dude I’m not sure what happened. The first floor is desolate (empty for everybody that’s currently reading this while dunk). I understand social distancing, but I’m I am attending Warehouse, I do not care about the current situation, I’m here to rave. Open the first floor for a mosh pit.
Really wanted to like this company. I was cheated and conned, and after a week with zero communication I contacted them. They fumbled around for another day or two then stated they couldn’t find the item. I was left empty handed and confused. No attempt at finding the item or ordering another. Nothing. Zip. C’mon guys!
Poor selection. If you like grandpa guitars this is the place. Wouldnt recomend to any modern guitar players.
