My son had some birthday money burning a hole in his pocket and wanted to find a music store. I was surprised to find that there was a place so close to us on Back Beach Road (98), which I had driven past a million times and never noticed. The instant we walked in we were greeted with a friendly smile by one of the owners, Netta, and soon after by her husband Mike. These guys are friendliest music store proprietors you will ever meet! If you want to learn music and are in the area, I encourage you to visit them. They clearly care more about music and their patrons then any big box shop you might otherwise waste your time with. They have some amazing instruments (gorgeous limited edition Alvarez Yairi guitars) at ridiculous prices. Mike took the time to show me several instruments, including a real gem he had in the back to maybe keep for himself, and demonstrated not only his incredible knowledge of and skill with these guitars, but also his desire to spread his love of music with anyone who walks through the doors. I can’t wait to visit them again. Thanks Mike and Netta!
Great job repairing my well used guitar. The work was done promptly at a fair price. I think I found the music store I’ve been looking for.
My husband and daughter love taking lessons here. The instructors are knowledgable and friendly. This prices are AMAZING!!!
The lessons are expensive $30 for 30 minutes I don’t recommend it but I mean it’s good
Nice little place, but somewhat disorganized. Nice folks, lacking on the communication side. Lessons are good!
Needs variety
Went in to purchase strings, was charged double the price for them. Next time I will get them online, put a end to that kind of crazy happening again.
I used to go before the ownership change to have my violin serviced. I went to the counter and talked to Seth and I left wanting to cry. When I opened my case he picked up my violin then out of the blue asked if I wanted him to take off the finger tape. He said he didn’t like his students using it since it was a crutch. I said no thanks I like having it and he said “oh… ok” in a very judging and condescending tone. He then asked how much I paid for it (super disrespectful and unnecessary?) and when I told him he scoffed and said he wouldn’t have paid half of that. He then proceeded to turn over my violin and point out every imperfection (something about the bridge being too high, fingerboard not angled properly, and spots of varnish). He said it looked “haphazard” and was shocked I paid that. This was a violin I’ve had for years, absolutely love, and that my parents worked hard to afford. I was too shell shocked to take the violin back from him and leave, and after all the insults Seth said “it seems fine you don’t need service” then asked if I wanted lessons from him. The audacity?? At least he didn’t try to sell me stuff I suppose. I know this is a small business and I hate to not show support but like I said before I left in tears and with a horrible experience. I can’t recommend this store and especially not Seth for your classical instrument needs. I don’t understand how anyone can stand him for a lesson, I’ve never met a more condescending person in the customer service industry.

Such a chill and comforting environment. These guys are what I needed to help me get somewhere with my music.
Got to hop in for a 4 hour session with T Love and his engineer. It was a super streamlined recording and I felt like I could comfortably perform while the producers handled the technical stuff. Extremely satisfied with the final product.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, I got exactly what I was looking for. They have some great unique stock too!
Was told to put half down on a glass piece and he would order do you the one that I wanted. Now I cannot get a response from the business after they took my first payment.
THIS IS THE WORST SERVICE EVER HE DONT PUT HIS ALL IN IT HE ASK FOR MONEY AND INT GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME
This is a joke.My experience is they don’t want to work nor have passion. I tried to book a few engineers. “Tony High Class” ,whom I never met only discussed with to book, never followed through. I was only looking for a studio while vacationing to get a little work done. I got close to the time we arranged and he block my number in his shame. Overall BAD REVIEW DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!
5. Leitz Music Company (DT)
Address: 508 Harrison Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
Bought my first ukulele there always like to look around last couple times I’ve been it’s been a tad bit messy however I think that’s just from cleaning and rearranging 🙂
any time I need anything music related, this is the place I go
Didnt Even have irig and They dont have all the bands and but They did have a case i liked
I have been visiting this store for years. It has been a must stop when in Panama City. I stopped in today and found the usual great selection of instruments and accessories. I played a nice Fender P Bass today and practiced for the first time 4 new contemporary Christian tunes I will be playing at my home church next weekend. The store was not busy and I didn’t see anybody wanting to get where I was playing. I was shocked when after the second time through my 4 songs I was asked if I was going to buy the bass I was playing. I said no explaining I was playing these songs for the first time in preparation for next weekends service. I was asked to stop playing to make room for other customers. So I stopped playing and purchased a pack of music flash cards, which I found when walking through the store. I mentioned to the guy that asked me to stop playing that I play like this at Sam Ash and Guitar Center stores across the country and they welcome me coming in to play and I have never been asked to stop playing until today. Having bought a guitar, mixer, speakers and other accessories here before, I left the store wondering if I will return again after today’s experience in the not busy store.
Really cool shop with demo rooms and helpful staff.
We love supporting local business, but enough is enough. Local or not, we will never enjoy doing business with a retailer with a nasty attitude.we could have ordered, but we chose to keep it local. Our mistake, apparently there is an endless supply of graceful customers standing at the door. It hurts me to say, but hello Sweetwater, Musicians Friend, and Amazon. At least their website is polite and courteous.
Sad day truly.
Went to buy my daughter a ukulele.
Staff was rude and basically had to wave my hands as if in danger to get anyone’s attention.
Tag clearly stated that on ukulele came with a case.
We were told in order to get a case one needs to spend hundreds on a more expensive ukulele.( even though the tag clearly said includes case.
Seemed as though every customer that came in was a big sigh from the employees and a what do you need from us attitude.
I will never buy from here. That’s all it takes for me.
Would have liked to keep it local.
Called to ask if they had two common guitar items in stock, and was promptly told they do not carry those items. Stopped by an hour later to find they did have them in stock. While brousing the store more than half of thier merchandise is packed up (bare shelves), and I was instructed by the staff not to touch anything I was not going to buy.
Unacceptable Service! It seems as if they just rather be closed, and don’t want any one comming in to shop. Ridiculous.
6. Gulf Coast Panama Jack
Address: 1411 Moylan Rd, Panama City Beach, FL 32407 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
Gulf Coast Panama Jack is an awesome company and they have great products! I definitely recommend them for your beach supply needs!
Lost a screw to our new umbrella anchor. Staff was very courteous and send us a new anchor! They are very customer oriented.
Great company. Great products. For all your beach supplies.
Nice people. Real slow unloading trucks.
We came in from Louisiana and I forgot my swim trunks. The ones that i bought looked fine in the store. When I put them on this morning they are super short. Like cough and your balls fall out short. I guess that I should’ve gone to Walmart to start with
Extremely fair and curteous. Was given a very generous price on my item 10/10 would reccomend.
Really great people! Love going there!
I just love Panama Pawn, and highly recommend it to everyone, I had old jewelry just hanging around, and decided to check into selling it. I went there first, got a price, and checked quite a few well known business that promice to pay the most for your gold…..NOT…..I went right back to John at Panama Pawn, he and his wife are super people, honest, fair, and he also does jewelry repair etc. If you are in the market to get rid of old stuff and make some bucks, don’t waste your time, go see John 🙂 I’m a very happy camper. Thanks John
I’ve used these guys for years buying and selling guitars, TV’s and video game systems, the owner has always given me a great price, and great service
Very Clean and nice
The employee is nice, but not much of a selection…kinda a small place.
Was leaving PCB from spring break and decided to sell my diamond/sapphire bracelet an exBF had bought me. I had the receipt from Zales (a highly respected jeweler), it retailed for $6,395.00, he purchased it for $5,700.00 (cash price). I also had a private appraisal which appraised it for $5,800-$6,000.00. Anyway, I took it to this pawn shop and the guy behind the counter looked at it and said he would “go about 500.00”. I laughed and attempted to show him my paperwork, while in the process of digging it out of my purse, he looked at once more and said “I can actually go $700.00, if you just want to sell it.”
I wasn’t expecting 6 or 7 grand, I know it’s a pawn shop, but FFS, at least don’t try to screw people over. I finally showed him all the paperwork and he said “well, I’m not interested, I don’t spend that much on jewelry, it don’t move fast enough.”
Whatever, I do NOT recommend this place!
The guy who owns it is a rude man , treats customers like he doesn’t need them . His sister on the other hand is an absolute sweetheart . Unfortunatly She does not make up for how bad he is , he will try to undercut you at every turn and the dirty looks get old real fast .
1st I called the guy and asked if they had any silver rounds and he said no but went in anyway because I was curious on what the had and turned out they didn’t but they did have fake silver rounds. I ended up buying them but later found out they were fake. Ver disappointed will not go again.
9. Playground Music Center
Address: 27 Harrison Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
Awesome staff.. Very knowledgeable. Clean store and fair prices. Will come back for any music related needs for sure
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Local favorite. Been there as long as I can remember. Never been inside but had my share of poor boy window shopping dreams.
Do not pick out an instrument on their so called rent to own plan if you are picky about that exact instrument They were supposed to fix a sticky tenon and instead gave my daughter a diff instrument that she disliked. I tried to get a response via email and they did not get back to me so I called and was told that I could not get back the original. I was contacted by the store after much hassle and then spoken to like a non musician and given back the flute without them doing anything about the sticky tenon! Only go here if you are wanting to try beginner instruments!
I had an amazing first impression days ago, but today was all the contrary.
They make me feel really bad as a person.
Never judge a book by its cover.
I’ve had a few dealings with this establishment over the past 10 years and overall am not very happy. The first time, I had them refurbish my wife’s mid-level flute, which I believe they contracted out to another location in the FL panhandle. The service rendered it playable again, but the technician scratched the silver in a few places. More recently we rented a French horn from them for my son. After a year, they would aggressively solicit us by phone and text to upgrade the rental to a nicer horn (at a rate of over $150/month). They continuously addressed me by the wrong surname and/or salutation even after I offered corrections. Furthermore, they mislead my wife and I about the credit we would acquire through rental towards the potential purchase of an instrument. This benefit is extremely limited and restrictive! The guys working in the shop were nice and helpful, so I have to believe that all of this is really an issue with management/ownership. That said, I can’t recommend them as a good music store.
Update: Thank you for your response. Just to clarify, I understand the cost of these instruments quite well. My wife and I just do not feel like a 7th grader is worthy of an instrument that retails for roughly $5-6k and felt that the sales calls were far too pushy. With regard to the flute incident, this happened many years ago, and I did reach out to you by phone. I was transferred to the repair technician, who explained that the cause of the damage was difficulty in disassembling the keys. No offer was made to polish or repair the scratches at that time, and I’m not even sure if this could be realistically done.
I have called Lamar’s person # that was given. me by the school Numerous times, as if this date, I have not received any form of response. Initially we went to band night ordered starter kit. Finally ended up going to Metro Music. They were very helpful. I now have everthing needed.
So bad my child had to experience a bad start to something that is so wonderful . Go to Metro Music, or their other affiliates, you’ll be happier.
Accounting department is lacking. Starting with their company rep incorrectly completing Rental Agreement, billing errors (which I called to correct), followed by their text messages threatening repossession without the courtesy of a phone call has led yo more headache than it’s worth.
10. Sound Collective
Address: 1113 Beck Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
Staff was really helpful and nice. They have drums, guitars, and basses along with tons of other equipment. Lots of cd’s, vinyl’s, and cassette’s. Also A great place for band t shirts.
Amazing staff and the coolest store in St. Andrews. They have band ts, records, musical instruments, and lessons!? I stop by at least once a week.
I love this shop’s vibe!
Guitars and accessories plus a nice selection of records.
11. Walmart Supercenter

Very nice and spacious environment to shop everything you need
Take all ur money.
LOVE Wally World!!! Staff is incredible!
They serve their purpose but many were not following CDC guidelines for wearing masks. To bad.
First visit – not impressed. Ok.
No service/help at paint department. 35 minutes waiting for help. Even other WM associates tried to help. Self check person spread too thin for helping at check out
Can not find me anything. Since moved store around. No one to help. Gone down hill past 6 months.
Two workers was very rude to me and I am 65 yrs old with emphysema! I will shop there again! Not go back!
Unbelievable, the people waiting one hour to pay
12. Ms Newby’s Liquors
Address: 8711 Thomas Dr, Panama City Beach, FL 32408 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
Great place to go for drinks dancing and to just hangout. They have an outside band on the upper level, a lounge cocktail area also upstairs but inside, downstairs they have a pool hall bar inside, and karaoke and dancing outside. It was a fun atmosphere and the people were great!!! I definitely recommend visiting this and trying their fruit punch drink it will rock your world!!!!
Love it
LOVe, LOVE hunch punch
Lots to choose from
It’s a bar and liquor store in one. I had never seen this before. It is pricey but a pretty cool setup.
Great place for social activity and drinks.
Im very disappointed in the music… been on every level and its all the same..not feeling it at all
They don’t know how to take ID’s from other states. You’d think a popular bar in a tourist town would know how to read ID’s from other states besides Florida. Especially being the “manager”.
Great hole in the wall outdoor bar. However, 99% of the customer are active smokers. Therefore of you have one lung like I, you will not survive.
13. Cassette and Compass
14. Redbox
Address: 9998 Front Beach Rd, Panama City Beach, FL 32407 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
We had a blast on our golf cart from JOJO AND DRE they are so sweet and always helpful and accommodating go see them at 553 Richard Jackson Boulevard
Jojo best service so sweet very good at her job!! Will come back and rent from her again!!
JoJo and Amanda were the nicest staff! We had a blast and will definitely be back soon!
Lady was very rude after calling about a disparity between the price I was told and the price that I was charged.
Rentals not bad, great looking bikes, good deal and friendly staff
Extremely rude. Was told one price on the phone when I get there the price was something different. She did finally match the price quoted on the phone but acted like I was the problem. I would never go to this place again.
10/10 Would NOT recommend. They are very rude, scam artist who should and will be shut down soon!
They dont even offer insurance so if the thing gets stolen you’re out 5k. Talk about about a gamble.
16. Bob House Antiques and Furniture
Address: 8108 Front Beach Rd, Panama City Beach, FL 32407 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
The best selection of unique nautical items and was the best selection of man cave appeal I found used in the area! Very friendly staff and owner.
Favorite Antique place
Nice lil place nice treasures
Check it out!
Cool store with neat stuff. Was in town from Ga and stopped and looked around. Signs are little more than I would pay but just my opinion. Still a good store to look through
Ok selection of merchandise , prices reasonable. Young lady at counter not friendly, not helpful, a cpl items I picked were not priced, lady at counter was put out and said owner goes to buy drops off merchandise and forgets to price it….. That’s ok, I understand that but to get an attitude and tell me I don’t have time to call him, come back Sunday. WOW.. Business must be fantastic.
I sent pictures of antique glassware a couple of months ago, didn’t get a reply back. I thought I would check into it today. The young lady said, if he didn’t reply that means he’s not interested. An “I got your pictures, I’m not interested at his time” would have been an acceptable reply.
Apparently the shop doesn’t welcome children or isn’t recommended for then
17. Dollar General
Address: 9001 N Lagoon Dr, Panama City Beach, FL 32408 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
Fantastic place to grab your late night snacks. Candy for $1? Yes, please! Great selection of cereal, chocolate, sodas, popcorn, doughnuts… everything you need for a late night movie or games. I’d pick this place over a gas station any day.
Great staff!! Store is always stocked full and employees always make you feel welcomed.
good buys
Great
Can get so many things there. Greeting cards are beautiful and very inexpensive.
Found just the right laundry basket I needed with help from a worker!
Parking lot is the trashiest place I’ve seen in a long time. Poor management to allow it to look like San Fransisco in beautiful PCB.
Not all of PCB is super-clean but this place stood out above everywhere else we saw on a recent trip.
Turned around and went somewhere else.
Terrible service. Broken items.
I have been a customer there for a long time. I’m in there at least 2-3 times a week. Every employee there is amazing. Then I ran across James. He is a rude, disrespectful human being. He rang me up this evening and didn’t give me my kitten litter, when I called back to have him hold it for me he was extremely rude. I asked for his manager number and he would not give it to me. He told me to clean out my ears and call back tomorrow I wish there was a no stars option.
18. Sunrise Cafe & Bakery
Address: 10616 Front Beach Rd, Panama City Beach, FL 32407 , Panama City Beach , Florida , United States
Нереальное место!!! После фастфуда везде, это место просто находка!!! Все очень вкусно, персонал замечательный!!!! Всем советую!
Cutest little spot with really good (and hot) coffee! We enjoyed their delicious donuts, and omelet, and a hashbrown bowl and were very happy with everything. Environment is warm and friendly and food delicious.
The baklava was fantastic! The rest west of our donuts were ok. Cute place and very friendly staff.
5 star service. Coffee & food overpriced for quality.
Good breakfast, really good donuts/pastry
We were staying across the street and came by for breakfast based on the reviews. Had 6 different doughnuts, one of each chicken, potato, and beef pierogi, traditional breakfast, macarons, and croissant sandwich. Doughnuts were a bit better than Shipley’s or Krispy Kreme. Croissant sandwich was similar to what you’d get at a fast food place or gas station. Macaron was wet and not as flavorful as expected for those cookies. Pierogis had undercooked puff pastry. That said this may very well be one of the best places around, but compared to other places we’ve been (not in PCB) it is mediocre at best. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend this place beyond the doughnuts.
I tried this place this morning, I saw all the great reviews and I’m sad to say it wasn’t good. I got 2 grit bowls. The grits were tight w/ no flavor. They looked nothing like the pics online. I went around d 9:30am so everything should’ve been fresh. I also got a apple cinnamon roll and it was dry with no icing. For the price I was expecting it to be great.
I purchased 2 slices of cake and a small coffee. The coconut cake was old, it was hard and dry. The coffee was luke warm and tasted like an old brew. Very disappointed
