Billy is awesome! He’s really cool, and knows EVERYTHING about setting up instruments. I brought him a brand new MusicMan Sterling SUB series 5 string bass, and although it’s a nice instrument it needed alot of work to get it to be playing it’s best. Billy was very upfront about everything; what needed to be done, how long the wait would before he could get to it (he’s very busy!), and how much it would cost. He had me play the instrument so he could get a feel for my playing style, I handed it off to him and he went to work. As I said before it needed a lot of work, including the neck needing to be thrown into the neck heater so he could get it leveled out. We were in touch daily about the progress of the work being done, and he had it back to me in a week. WOW! It was like playing a whole new instrument. I’d recommend Billy and B&D to anyone that is serious about needing a REAL setup done on their instruments. Give them a call and use their services, you’ll be very pleased!
Best In Town!!
Billy has a wealth of knowledge and experience and super friendly. So glad I found this place!
My experience was less than stellar. A vintage pickup mysteriously stopped working while in his care. I forgave it. Then, one guitar was given back filthy even though I specifically asked him to clean it as part of the service. Spare parts strewn in the case. And he was late. I was in a hurry when I picked up my stuff and didn’t realize most of this until I got home. I guess it’s just me he does this too. I try to frequent local small businesses, but why bother. You can’t count on anyone nowadays.
Person was rude on the phone. I was trying to explain how a guitar’ bridge was causing me problems.
Then he tells me “not to take my frustrations out on him” when i was simply attempting to explain the situation.
He seems arrogant and condescending
Nice posters, but where are all the tools???? Instead of wasting your money on bogus YELP adds, spend it on tools.
2. Hunt Amplification, LLC
Address: 2202 W Lone Cactus Dr #4, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
A friend of a friend of a friend told me about this place when I asked where I should get my app worked on. It’s a bit out of the way north of Phoenix in an industrial park however very knowledgeable staff and from how they treated me very honest. The potential of me being ripped off based on the repairs was very high but I was told it would not be worth it my time or money to have the amp fixed it would be cheaper to buy a new or used one. I appreciate that very much.
Took an amp to get fixed. He said he would look at it. A month later, finally said he never really got around to it. 3 mont I called and said I would just pick it up. He said it would be best. Maybe take it somewhere else. Didn’t charge me and even loaded it in my car. He failed to put it all back together. Now, I’m missing the 2 fans in the back along with a whole circuit board. What a crook! Now, I can’t take it anywhere.
3. Boogie Music
Address: 3562 W Cactus Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85029 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Great small business with lots of patience
We went in to look at violins for our son. We were unsure if we should rent or buy, what brand to go with, if it was even worth it. The y were patient and took the time to explain everything to us. He even let our 5 yr old play a ukulele. We will be back for sure!
Haven’t even brought the guitar in yet to be worked on, and I’m already sold! The awesome dude who took my call literally answered every question I had before I could even ask them. Solid pricing as well! \m/
A small mom and pop music store surrounded by the chain stores (GC and Sam Ash) offering guitars amps and drums plus accessories. Their specialty is their selection of quality Taylor guitars and was the first store to bring the Taylor line to PHX. Clint is a seasoned, very knowledgeable owner who takes the time to gift expert advice. After 2 visits I became a customer today and can’t recommend them highly enough. It’s rare these days to find stores like this that go the extra mile and are not bound to corporate dictates and thus provide fair pricing and generous trade in values. Spread the word!
They will not sell you small pieces for bass instruments (i.e. springs, valve corks, or other small parts) instead they insist on bringing the instrument to their repair shop (not really expensive to do either) but if you are a person like me who needs their instrument on the daily it would be more time efficient to just buy the piece and fix it my self.
I have been renting a flute from Boogie music for my daughter for 3 years now. DON’T believe the 100% return on all rental fees towards purchase of a new instrument! There are loopholes for them. Not 100% of the fee you pay a month is the rental fee, roughly 2/3 is. They also only will give you this credit if you are purchasing a higher end instrument. I will have to rent a flute from them for 8 years to pay for the 1000 dollar flute they will give me the credit on. They have a much cheaper flute on their websight, but say it is not American made and that one will not count towards the credit.
While they do have repair facilities and will fix anything broken, they have not done any maintenance or cleaning on this flute in 3 years and when asked if they would, I was told bring it in and they will check it out, but no maintenance is needed.
This flute has been fine for her in grade school, but I will need to pay for it almost all the way through high school to get the trade in they will do. Just be careful make sure your child wants to play an instrument forever before getting into the contract if you want to be able to get any trade in credit.
They are very helpful and answer my questions about learning how to play the guitar.
The person at the store followed me around the store the entire time and was super critical on how I played the guitars (which was not abusive or disrespectful). Made me not feel welcome or wanted. I would buy from anywhere else. Wish this was not true, I love little music stores.
Rude and condescending.
They told me and my friend that we were in the wrong store!! How rude!
4. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 4402 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Sam Ash is great if you’re not in a hurry. The service is slow. They are friendly and knowledgeable but Everytime I stop there it takes forever. Prices are good and I like the used stuff it’s usually a good deal.
Good selection with slow service.
Told me what I needed to get my mic to work. Price was triple what Amazon sold
I have my first visit to Sam Ash today, and unfortunately, was not impressed. I was in the store around 15 minutes, walked past at least four store associates, and not one of them spoke or offered to sell me anything. I needed a new interface, three mics, a new set of headphones, and all kinds of wires for my home studio; could’ve easily spent over $1000 in the store… Only there were no associates walking around that I could find. The only one I saw at the counter where the microphones and interfaces for around 10 minutes and watched the only associate in that section talk to one lady (I think had already checked out), and even take the time to look at her pictures on her phone. I understand a great customer service experience comes with a certain level of conversation. However with my experience, I had no conversation with no associate in the store . I saw the microphones I wanted, so I was really disappointed… On my way out a man says “thank you for coming in” and that was was my entire experience. The store was pretty empty, so I felt ignored. Luckily Music & Arts had the same stuff.
Overpriced compared to what you can easily find online. Not enough selection.
As me and my friends were trying out some drums we were told by a white Lady to let some white guys try them out. Also when we went to look at the sticks the lady followed us and watched us the entire time. This was a very uncomfortable situation and I will never return here, we are Hispanics and I don’t feel that we should be treated this way. I usuall don’t get offended by these things but this lady was very disrespectful. I’m not sure what her name was but she was working in the drum department.
5. Guitar Center
Address: 2750 W Peoria Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
The. Gentleman that helped me was very helpful and friendly. Wasn’t pushy at all!
Dan (a manager, former Drum Specialist) Garrison (Pro Audio/Software Specialist) and TJ (Drum Tech Specialist) are the best. I’ve been going there for years and they’ve always helped me with any questions that I have.
My favorite place in the whole world!!!
Good place
Very helpful and resourceful staff. Appreciate their help and assistance
Went to buy a needle for my record player. Was helpful in showing me where they were.
Went in for a pick holder for my mic stand. Guitar guy “Those are in Pro Audio.” Pro Audio guy “Those are in the Guitar section.” I ended up at Samash a few blocks away…
I had ro click a star to post. They deserve -0.stars
Bought my Guitar from their store. Did it online while on the phone with rep in store. He was more than helpful.
Paypal took my funds and submitted my order to them.Someone at this store cancelled ny order that same night at 9:17pm! Verified this with Paypal agent and transaction history.
Run around from agent on the phone that they sold my guitar to someone else the Next day after I purchased it. “”They never recieved the order”” Even though it was verifiex. He did not seem to care.
Soon as I purchased this item I checked to see it left there inventory and it did. So no doubt it was allocated to me. Plus”” Paypal verification of someone cancelling it at this store””.
I will never buy from Any Guitar center ever.
Just out of Frustration I purchased a New one and I had a great transaction with the new supplier!
Understaffed
6. Strum University
Address: 320 W Lone Cactus Dr STE 1, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Nick is such an amazing teacher that knows exactly how to get the students motivated and confident. I have my 2 daughters taking classes with him and they love it! The new studio is state of the art, very professional, excellent location, modern and so hitech!! Love it!! TOTALLY recommend!
As a student, Strum University has taught me so much in such a short time. It’s challenging and enjoyable. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to learn to play an instrument.
Strum is amazing. You won’t find better instructors anywhere. Both of my daughters attend Strum, one guitar the other a drum player. They love attending their lessons and look forward to them every week. Can’t thank Strum enough for their continued encouragement and watching my daughters confidence grow.
7. Central Music
Address: 5038 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85012 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
The old saying that you can never go home again is mostly true — except in the case of Central Music.
Back when Phoenix — and my skills as a musician — were less developed, I spent lots of time at CM buying all kinds of blues guitar learnin’ stuff.
And the high point was getting to chat with Roy the manager; he always made me feel right at home.
Fast forward lots of years and I get nostalgic for a visit to the place. And amazingly, it’s exactly as I remembered it. And there was Roy, still standing behind the counter; a bit older, but still as friendly as ever.
At Central music you can get sheet music, instruments, picks, strings, straps, and a whole bunch of other stuff. It’s certainly no big name, big box music store like we see all over town, but that’s the beauty of it.
Stepping back into Central Music for me was like stepping back in time… and proof that sometimes you really can go home.
I can always count on them to have the music I need.
Red and white stand out
really great service but nothing is perfect
Cool little shop. People and staff are nice there. Remember that this is a great shop if you want to shop for sheet music! They have tons of sheet music, and odds and ends for instruments. This isn’t the place to go for buying or renting instruments. Cool place, but mainly just for sheet music.
I go there frequently to buy strings, picks (I love the “cool picks” and the “ice picks”), polish, fretboard conditioner, etc, and no matter if I’m spending $1.00 or $100.00 they’re always friendly and helpful. I just wish they had guitar parts and things like effects pedals. Maybe someday they will but until then I’ll keep buying my essentials there.
They didn’t help me they said I had to make 4 other drives to get it
No tiene variedad de cuerdas,no ve de guitarras de calidad.
CentralMusic purchase policy of NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS: bought a gig bag/very nice. Also bought, and am now stuck with, Kremona KNG classical guitar pickup: rubber on the plug end is brittle/cracking. I tape-wrapped it BECAUSE NO REFUNDS/NO RETURNS. However, I do apologize to you, Central Music, because I should have examined that pickup, should have said “rubber boot has breaks” or something to that effect. But I bought it the day before my wife’s funeral service where I was scheduled to play for a bit. So, I was a little pressed for time, grieving My Beautiful Wife’s passing, not thinking before I posted my comments about Central Music. So, I am sorry if I sounded rude, because that’s not who I am. On the bright side, your shop was open, item was available, product does work, and I wish I could read music better because you have lots of sheet music available and other gear for sale.
8. Ziggie’s Music
Address: 3309 N 3rd St Ac, Phoenix, AZ 85012 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Always a pleasure to go into ZIggies Music. Dionne and her warm smile, great people who can make, get, fix anything! LOTS of amazing pictures on the walls documenting the history since the 1920’s! First to sell Leo Fender’s Guitars. A gem in the desert!
Place is amazing. A small little shop that has houses tremdous surprises. You can find vintage equipement to latest marvels. Friendly atmosphere and local family feel. Need repaired or purchasing an instrument or just a set of strings. Everything I found there was in great descent shape. A variety of Instruments from accordians to brass to strings instruments of all sizes. Plus nice sortment of great name brands and nice selection of amps as well. I noticed that the instruments were all tuned and not looking all pawed by tuns of people. The person behind the counter I believe was the owner. She gave me a nice discount and a great story. I can share lil. Every first Saturday each month THEY hold a community event were locals and anyone out of town can participate in the Vintage swap and trade meet. Right there out on the side walk and the street next to them.
Amongst the other little story she shared.
Great nice little place to go. Enjoy.
Had my Fender P-Bass set up there and the result was outstanding. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the lessons there are great.
Very helpful the information what’s good
The perfectly imperfect music store with a hometown feel.
Store hours say 10 til 6 M thru S but they don’t follow them…..went by at 230 and no one showed up…..zero stars if I could
Was looking for a decent music store but this is not it. The place is dirty, and only carries used gear. The selection was very disappointing. Look elsewhere
literally 30 minutes b4 it was supposed to close me my mom and friend were trying to get in it was closed and we were looking in it was dirty that didn’t bother me it was just the fact there were no employees there 30 before close hours meaning it wasn’t we had just missed it meaning they had closed before hand
9. Monty’s Music
Address: 4845 E Greenway Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Stopped in to pick up some supplies. Owner (Monty) was very friendly and helpful. I commented that I’d never seen a certain guitar and he took it down and let me play it even though I told him it was out of my price range. That was very nice and not something he was obligated to do at all.
Great music store!
My daughter has been having guitar lessons here for six month, I’m very pleased with Monty.
They don’t close at 6. The sign says 6ish. Literally. That means before 5:45 anyway.
I love these guys, but just close at 5 or whatever. 6ish isnt helpful at all.
Rude… yep rude. Not sure why.
Would not recommend this store to anyone, the teachers are sarcastic and condescending. Very underwhelming, uninspiring store, not to mention the Guitars are Rip Offs. Guitar Center is much Better.
It was 5:20 when I pulled up and it didn’t look like anyone had been in the store all day. The sign says open until 6ish. Mom and pop store or not if your sign says sixish stay open until at least 6 for crying out loud. I own my own small business and could not imagine doing something so selfish and stupid to turn away a customer.
10. Amazing Mobile Music Instruction
Address: 426 E Rimrock Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85024 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Both my son and daughter have been taking lessons from Ben for the past 4 months. They have both taken lessons in the past with other people but we just weren’t seeing the type of improvement we were hoping to see, especially from my daughter who plays the piano. Since starting lessons with Ben, our daughters piano playing has taken off in a way that I couldn’t be more happy about! Our son plays the guitar and I see more playing outside of his required practice time now than I ever got out of him before. He was already a fairly decent guitar player prior, but now I feel like he is truly learning the fundamentals of guitar playing that will take him into being a lifelong musician! We could not be happier with our decision to have Ben work with our children and I can’t wait to see where they’re at this time next year!
Ben is a great teacher and I would highly recommend him! He has been teaching my daughter piano lessons and he is always very nice and respectful. She has vastly improved with her skills and Ben has been the perfect teacher for her!
Ben is a wonderful human being with an extreme amount of patients, and vast knowledge of musical instruments. He by far, surpasses others in the industry! He has been so gracious with our two boys in their music endeavors. Not only does he provide mobile services (which, let’s be honest ~ music lessons wouldn’t happen in our crazy schedules without this luxurious service) he has knowledge about nearly every instrument. He approaches every lesson in a precise manner insuring foundations, such as music theory and form are JUST as important as the music being made. We’d recommend him a thousand times over. We’re so lucky to have such a wonderful, talented, caring individual teach our children the beautiful gift of music.
* our kiddos are current receiving lessons for guitar & piano.
11. Agave Music
Address: 2317 N 16th St, Phoenix, AZ 85006 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Chris at Agave Music is the most proficient and honest instrument repair guy I have used in over 60 years. I have taken my flute to him for regular maintenance and it plays beautifully. Thank you Chris!
Chris overhauled my Selmer Super Action 80 Serie II Tenor Sax. I didn’t know my horn could play so well until after he worked on it.
Great sax repair. Sounds better than ever! And reasonable prices too!
The guy in the back was cool but the bitter lady up front sucked
Chris the technician is extremely competent! Highly recommend!
If you need your musical instrument repaired take it here
12. Atomic Guitar Works
Address: 8550 N 91st Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
These guys REALLY know their trade. They took 2 guitars that someone screwed up years ago and brought them back to life. The setups were SPOT ON!! I will be going to them as long as they are in business.
I just had a vintage Gretsch Nashville refretted and am very satisfied with the excellent quality of the repair and the friendly service. Highly recommended.
It was perfect..Really helped me find the right strings for my niece guitar..I’ll be back…
You have been warned. They talked like they knew the product very well to build trust. They overpromised and underdelivered when I got my guitar back and still wanted to make excuses???, the work I asked for was clearly stated in the receipt.
A great place to get a custom made guitar
Small but impressive guitar shop. Nice selection of after market parts and strings.
I bought a charvel jake e lee model that supposedly was built by someone at atomic guitars and it was the worst thing I’ve ever played, held or experienced. Everything about it was off from the neck pocket to the fingerboard and frets. I was told that it was built by the guys at atomic guitar and I hope that wasn’t the case at all.
Just got off the phone with one the associates here. Arrogant and unhelpful.
I took a mid-level Martin to them with a crack. They humidified it to where the crack closed. They told me it was repaired but to be sure and keep it humidified. The fact is they humidified and the crack closed they didn’t do the repair but they charged me for it.
13. The Record Room
Address: 2601 W Dunlap Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85021 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
They had a wide selection of records and had wonderful suggestions for a beginner record collector!!!!!
One of the best record stores in the valley! Great selection, friendly staff, and solid prices!
This place is great. Got some good deals on some punk/hardcore records. I was happy. My fave record store I’ve been to so far in Phoenix.
Staff greeted customers. Lots of used vinyls. Nice place.
Nice shop lots of records, however they are selling some unofficial releases or pirated releases.
Good selection of records. I found some good stuff. Employee (owner?) wasn’t super friendly. But if you are cool with just being left alone to browse, like I am, that’s not really a complaint.
To pricey
Sorry, but this place is going downhill as they say. Boxes everywhere, prices missing, damaged records way overpriced. They do not inspect records well and I am tired of paying good money for records that sizzle like bacon and skip. In the store’s defense… Stop complaining about trade-ins. They are in business to pay rent and make money. Your Kenny loggins CD and your old Neil diamond album are not priceless treasures.
Well at first I thought the dude is cool he probably knows math. Then out of the Idk out of about 250 records he peeled off 60 of them. Now the covers on most were shot out. So he said 50 cents each for single albums $1 for double albums which there were several double albums he added them and come out with $30. Now I’m no math wiz but if there’s 60 records and say 15 are doubles how does that amount to 30. I got paid 50 cents on all of them and so disappointed I felt sorry for him and took the $30 and told him he could have the rest. He obviously needs them more than me. The lord works in mysterious ways. Went to desert diamond and won just a little over $1000. So keep your $7 buy a calculator and ditch the flip phone 2021. The new ones have calculators built in.
14. Castle Megastore – Deer Valley, AZ
Address: 21815 N 26th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Great place! Selection was awesome. Lingerie was on the low side but I can see it’s because they were selling like crazy. No big.
It was my first time there and Nina was very helpful, she made sure all questions were answered and advised us in a few things, no pressure, just being helpful. Even gave us a short tutorial on how to take care of our products.
It was super fun, we’ll be back for sure.
This place a great selection for a reasonable price. It was very clean and the staff was professional and helpful. Great experience.
Outstanding service and fun! Our salesperson was absolutely the best!
We’ll be back, thank you!
No
Had a good experience “wìndow” shopping. Brought a friend ŵho had never been there ĥe was amazed. Helpful staff but prices seemed higher then ì remember.
.thanks for the fun time.
The guy was a bit rude and acted almost pretentious. I knew what I wanted and just had some basic questions and he was just kinda like snooty about it all. 3 stars
The door man hates women. Called and waiting on a real answer.
Not worth a star won’t spend my money at this location anymore. I got no hello or welcome upon entrance. I got eye balled all the way down to the area I was shopping, verrry uncomfortable. To confirm this intimidating non welcoming environment the manager had some one try to take my tote bag(my property) that I have gone in there multiple times with and the manager and associate have both helped me wgike I wore it!!!!!with it,I spent my $150 at facinations. No wonder the same people have been there for years. I’d say some additional soft skills and trainning is needed remember you sell your not loss prevention businesses have write offs customer lost
Store looks nice . Terrible products , purchased dance apparel which broke the second I put them on .
15. Audio Edge
Address: 1725 W Williams Dr Unit 9, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Very professional shop with attention to detail .speaker upgrade sounds great install was clean and wire management was awesome. Definitely headed back for more upgrades
Colin knocked it out of the park on my enclosure! In a time when materials are at an insane cost, Colin made some great recommendations without cutting corners. Highly recommend
Best Audio Store Ever
Excellent install, sound system is GREAT.. I’m always jamN to work I’m morning.. and after work.. great sound quality
Colin and his mother were awesome to talk to and both were very knowledgeable unfortunately the device that I purchased could not function as I need it to so the installation couldn’t be done however Colin found a deferant unit that was able to do what I am looking for that and only that is the reason Audio Edge is not receiving 5 stars but I am sure that will change when the job it comple .
I brought my 2022 Subaru Outback over to Audio Edge to get an amp and subwoofer installed awhile back. They couldn’t install the sub correctly and said nothing on what they did. They hacked up the internal body/panel below the steering wheel. They also got the rubber boot on the firewall under the hood loose and didnt re-secure. This prevents water and outdoor elements seeping inside the car and damaging the electrical. They also damaged the inside the car panel around the radio. \
I had a friend get the sub and amp working and showed me the hack job they did. Rest assured, I wont be taking my $40k car back to AE to be hacked up by noobs.
Shoutout to Colin. He was able to get me hooked up. A+ Service. I recommend this place.
—–
Update: Saddened to have to come and update this. I bragged and vouched for the place. Turns out I didn’t get the battery isolator that I asked and paid for. I found out the hard way that I did not have one installed. I recall asking where it was and the representative pointed under the system so I thought ok its under there somewhere, cool. Was I lied to? Did they forget? The isolator was on the receipt.
So I replaced my battery recently and the two batteries have been draining each other. Needed a jump a couple times. I wouldn’t of have had any issues if the battery isolator was in place.
I ended up installing one by myself and everything is fine now. In conclusion just check your system thoroughly after install.
I left a review praising AUDIO Edge in the beginning, now after the experience I’ve had, I have to say, I TOTALLY REGRET DOING BUSINESS WITH COLIN! I NEEDED TO WARRANTY OUT THE SUB I PURCHASED FROM HIM, THINK HE’D BE WILLING TO HELP AS THE BUSINESS THAT SOLD IT TO ME? NOPE, I HAVE TO GET AN AUTHORIZATION FROM SUNDOWN AUDIO, THEN PAY SHIPPING, AND PAY FOR A REBUILD!!!! STEER CLEAR OF THIS MONEY HUNGRY SHOP! He TALKS A GOOD GAME, THEN LEAVES YOU WITH POOR SERVICE AND NO HELP! I EXPECTED BETTER, BUT I WAS SHOWN HIS TRUE COLORS! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF FOR DOING A CUSTOMER LIKE THIS! STAY CLEAR OF THIS HACK SHOP! HIS WORD MEANS NOTHING!
16. Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
Address: 21611 N 26th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85027 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
This place has THE best pancakes EVER!
An unexpected but welcomed surprise.
The food is always good and service cheerful and fun. There’s a breakfast plate for everyone here. Call me boring but even if it’s lunch I have a breakfast and make it Brunch or if it’s dinner time I call it BLinner. Did I mention that I like the Breakfasts here. Order what YOU like ‘cuz it’s gonna be good.
The foods was really goods
Food was ok to fair, long wait to get our food, very noisy.
Always good food and can look at all the great things they have in their store while waiting for a table.
Hash brown casserole and biscuits!! ❤️❤️
Took forever for food to come out. Everyone’s orders weren’t correct, found hair in my food
This place is great, if you like your bowels exploding afterwards
Service was pretty bad. Our table was given away and there was no sense of urgency to provide another one in a timely manner. Chicken was great, pancakes were blah, meat loaf… didn’t like it. Maybe just an off day? Who knows?
17. Acoustic Vibes Music
Address: 2070 E Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Incredible experience and wow level attention to detail. I will continue to be a customer and will happily recommend to others!!!
If you’re looking for a guitar, this place is a must! Seriously. Great selection and environment for finding your instrumental soul-mate!
Dylan and Phil at Acoustic Vibes are awesome!! Very knowledgeable, super friendly, A+++ experience all around.
Best acoustic guitar selection I’ve seen
High end guitars on an eclectic atmosphere with no pressure sales.
Nice acoustic design,
all acoustic guitars top shelf brands.
Good selection, but weird atmosphere and left me feeling unwelcome. One might think such a ‘high’ tier guitar store would offer a ‘high’ tier experience, but that wasn’t the case for me. When I first entered the building I was met by a few older customers and employees and got nothing but a sour face by everyone just by opening the door, no greeting, nothing- super awkward, everybody literally stopped talking to look at me with an irritated look, as if I had interrupted something. I then had to excuse myself past the small gathering of what looked like employees talking to customers that wouldn’t move just to get to the first guitar room. I then was greeted by a salesman who instead of letting me tell him what I’m looking for, proceeds to go into a shpeel on all the different Martin models, basically making me interrupt him to tell what I’m looking for. The salesman also told me HD28s don’t come with dot inlays yet here I am looking at older models with them all over the internet. There was nobody else browsing the store in the guitar sections. I was then told I could play guitars, but the adjacent rooms are used for things like Banjo, which made it so I couldn’t even hear the guitars I was trying to play because somebody was in there clawing away. I really don’t think I’ll be visiting again, regardless of the selection. I’ll spend thousands of dollars somewhere else that takes every customer seriously. I went to Milano music right after and was treated respectfully and seriously without hesitation, and I didn’t need to schedule a high-pressure sales pitch and waste an hour of my time.
Very unfortunate visit, coming in to try out and buy a steel string guitar. We were greeted with passive aggressiveness and a magazine thrown across the main entrance before entering the guitar room from the shop keeper, young guy. incredibly rude and 0 customer service.
Made the whole stay unpleasant.

18. Stinkweeds Record Store
Address: 12 W Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85013 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
Stinkweeds is a great place to visit for music. The store is clean, well organized, nice staff, and parking in the back. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but was very happy to find a 1975 Willie album! I will be sure to stop in again during my next trip to town!
Great record store.
From tapes to posters, record players, new and used vinyl. This place has lots of options.
Park in the back.
One of the best independent record stores in the valley. The owner, Kimber, is a champion of all things local and a damned treasure. She does great things for the music and art communities in Phoenix.
One of the best places for hard to find vinyl. Great people in there, and always fun to dig through the bins. Some of the prices may be a tad higher than what I would pay, but I always find something when I go.
I like how organized the store is and the speed at which orders come in when placed but the staff has never been overly friendly on any visit. They make me feel like I’m bothering them when I have questions.
Interesting selection of CDs, cassettes, vinyls, books, and other merchandise. Only thing was that the store was a bit dusty.

19. Target

Great Prices ! Fast service! Easy online ordering! I give Target a 10
friendly, helpful staff. Seemed to always be stocked.
Bought a TV here the other day and Caleb was incredibly helpful!
I rely heavily on this Target. Makes life a little easier. (Scanning everything for cartwheel is not a little easier with little kids shopping with you)
Mostly for convenience order items to be picked up in drive up, checked in, took over 15 mins for someone to deliver the items. Once they approached my car they asked me to “reset” my time that I signed in to parking spot, I’m assuming to make their wait time look like a lot less. The wait was longer than expected, but got all my items and employee was cordial.
Boffo
Store was a complete mess. Stuff everywhere
The price tags never match the prices we pay. I probably spent $100 more on each shopping trip because of this. Price matching everything is a pain. I’m not sure if this is the issue with every Target or just here but I think I’m done with Target.
We use delivery service on a regular basin a regular basis in regards to shopping for groceries or any needs that are made of a home. Today not only did we order like normal but we were also disgusted with the outlandish behavior from the Shipt delivery personnel whom took it upon herself to remove items from my List. She also decided to lie to me indicating that they don’t have any chicken in the entire store verified by a store manager. We had contacted the store to find out that the inaccuracies of the inaccuracies of this information the contacted target customer service who in all this whole entire aspect gave a $5 gifts for Jeff a gift for my patience that is a slap in the face to a patron who spends money on a regular basis within your company Due to this I have since canceled my membership it’s with my membership I have notified my bank I have also contacted shipped who hung up on us and told us that there are no supervisors or managers that work on Sundays
20. The ‘In’ Groove
Address: 3300 N 24th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016 , Deer Valley , Arizona , United States
You will find a wide variety of vinyl as well as other types of music and associated electronics
Nice jazz collection.
Very clean, very well taken care of records. Everything is wrapped in cellophane sleeves so there’s no shelf wear as customers rifle through the inventory. Large selection; my guess is they have every new LP currently in production. Used selection is a little spottier. There’s even a selection of receivers, amps and turntables. It’s kind of like going to a record store back in 1976, for better and worse. Prices are definitely 2019 prices, though. This is the first record store I’ve gone to since moving to the area (I came from Long Island, NY) so maybe this is just how it is here, but even the used LP’s are generally $20+. New LP’s are $5-$10 more than you’d pay online, so even factoring in shipping it’s not a great deal. I did buy one new LP because it’s what I went there for, but I’d probably wait to go back until there was something new that I just couldn’t wait for.
Never would I shop here. Their parking lot is precious and sacred so they’d rather cause people towing fees than have actual business.
How dare you guys humiliate a postal worker thats just trying to do their job…shameful ….what do you think happens at the plant.?if their packaged correctly with handle with care first off package handling wouldn’t be difficult..I mean were any of them damaged?? I think certain people dont neex access to cameras…and i have so many classic records but i would never do business here..poor guy was just doing his job
Unfriendly employees. Large selection of merchandise.
