Playground is THE Best! Wonderful customer service.
Well located pleasant store with great variety of instruments, including wind instruments. I went there because my Yamaha PSR-740 had a loose key. They took care of it and charged me a very reasonable price. Customer service was exceptional. Big shout out to Jeremy for being so helpful. I definitely recommend this store!
I had an amazing first impression days ago, but today was all the contrary.
They make me feel really bad as a person.
Never judge a book by its cover.
Do not pick out an instrument on their so called rent to own plan if you are picky about that exact instrument They were supposed to fix a sticky tenon and instead gave my daughter a diff instrument that she disliked. I tried to get a response via email and they did not get back to me so I called and was told that I could not get back the original. I was contacted by the store after much hassle and then spoken to like a non musician and given back the flute without them doing anything about the sticky tenon! Only go here if you are wanting to try beginner instruments!
I went in looking to switch from viola to cello. Paul was super nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an instrument.
I’ve had a few dealings with this establishment over the past 10 years and overall am not very happy. The first time, I had them refurbish my wife’s mid-level flute, which I believe they contracted out to another location in the FL panhandle. The service rendered it playable again, but the technician scratched the silver in a few places. More recently we rented a French horn from them for my son. After a year, they would aggressively solicit us by phone and text to upgrade the rental to a nicer horn (at a rate of over $150/month). They continuously addressed me by the wrong surname and/or salutation even after I offered corrections. Furthermore, they mislead my wife and I about the credit we would acquire through rental towards the potential purchase of an instrument. This benefit is extremely limited and restrictive! The guys working in the shop were nice and helpful, so I have to believe that all of this is really an issue with management/ownership. That said, I can’t recommend them as a good music store.
Update: Thank you for your response. Just to clarify, I understand the cost of these instruments quite well. My wife and I just do not feel like a 7th grader is worthy of an instrument that retails for roughly $5-6k and felt that the sales calls were far too pushy. With regard to the flute incident, this happened many years ago, and I did reach out to you by phone. I was transferred to the repair technician, who explained that the cause of the damage was difficulty in disassembling the keys. No offer was made to polish or repair the scratches at that time, and I’m not even sure if this could be realistically done.
I have called Lamar’s person # that was given. me by the school Numerous times, as if this date, I have not received any form of response. Initially we went to band night ordered starter kit. Finally ended up going to Metro Music. They were very helpful. I now have everthing needed.
So bad my child had to experience a bad start to something that is so wonderful . Go to Metro Music, or their other affiliates, you’ll be happier.
Accounting department is lacking. Starting with their company rep incorrectly completing Rental Agreement, billing errors (which I called to correct), followed by their text messages threatening repossession without the courtesy of a phone call has led yo more headache than it’s worth.
3. Sound Collective
Address: 1113 Beck Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Panama City , Florida , United States
This is a great little music store right in St. Andrews. They have very fair prices, and a fun/ great collection of instruments/ amps. I like to stop in here from time to time. Laid back vibe. People are always friendly. They also have a small studio in the back.
Staff was really helpful and nice. They have drums, guitars, and basses along with tons of other equipment. Lots of cd’s, vinyl’s, and cassette’s. Also A great place for band t shirts.
Great little music store on Beck Avenue great service

This Place Is Useful But you must look carfully for the place
Casey is a great teacher
A collection of acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, and more. Music lessons are reasonable and staff knowledgeable about music. The staff is also helpful and knowledgeable on products sold.
Friendly and very helpful. Prices are a little high.
Ripped me off. Sold me a horrible chinese violin which broke within one hour of playing. They tried to pass the violin off as good for a beginner. The thing is literally disposable and was already used. Staff was also untrained and unqualified. Will NOT be back. DO NOT SHOP HERE
12. Tadlock Piano
Address: 6827 FL-22, Panama City, FL 32404 , Panama City , Florida , United States
They charged a church a couple hundred dollars to come out and fix a problem with a warranty covered instrument, and still didn’t fix the issue. Couple hundred dollars just to say, “sorry, we don’t know what’s going on and can’t help you”. If you can’t fix the issue with an organ/piano you sold, you don’t charge them then, especially if it’s warranty covered!
13. Best Buy
Address: 1000 E 23rd St, Panama City, FL 32405 , Panama City , Florida , United States
Everyone who works here is super helpful with finding stuff you need, and the prices are fair.
Sales staff seem to be a little peculiar but somewhat knowledgeable The geek squad were very helpful also kind of peculiar but that’s what you expect from a geek isn’t it all in all I’ll give it four stars it’s got a lot but it’s missing something that’s all I know to say
Helpful. And knew what I needed.
Disappointing Best Buy.
Didn’t have what I was looking for
For the 2 time
Warning do not buy insurance for bought items .
14. Panama City Center for the Arts
Address: 19 E 4th St, Panama City, FL 32401 , Panama City , Florida , United States
Wonderfully nice people there! Great representation of art, local and beyond. Clay studio is great for novice and experienced clay artists.
Great event location. Clean. Would come to a concert here anytime.
Have loved all the events put on! Always support local art!
Went on Oct 30, Halloween event with the spider tunnel. Saw the Raven witch on stilts and her costume was fabulous. The spider tunnel was just ok, not scary at all, but fun for the younger kids. Enjoyed seeing some things but didn’t really get a chance to view the art. I will definitely go back!
Most of the exhibits were closed when I visited.
Pretty cool art center. Not loads of art so you won’t be overwhelmed but there’s lots of different pieces scattered all over- don’t forget the gift shop to look at art. They have a gorgeous Christmas themed in the holiday season. When we were there, the second floor had art from one artist, trying to sell overpriced nothing. Everything except the special exhibit upstairs was fantastic. The statues upstairs are pretty cool though
I only gave it one star because when I got here it’s closed. I mean it’s physically open but the Galleries and Exhibits are closed to the public currently while they fix things up and renovate and prepare for a new exhibit. But the executive director was terribly nice to me and helpful in explaining Panama City to me and also explaining why we’re getting torrential rains which are part of the feeder bands of hurricane Ida. Very lovely lady kind. And friendly.
15. Panama City Hot Glass of MG&S
Address: 1331 Harrison Ave, Panama City, FL 32401 , Panama City , Florida , United States
The people here are fantastic. We had a large group, and for nearly 3 hours Amir and Simone (hopefully I spelled those right) patiently guided each of us, one at a time, through the magic of our first blown glass ornament. The two were like clockwork, and it was as much fun to observe the process as it was to take part! Chase made sure those of us waiting our turn were comfortable and knew where the fridge of beer was, haha! I definitely recommend checking them out!
I visited Hot Glass on Saturday & bought a pretty cool water glass. Great prices if you’re looking for unique glassware & I definitely intend to take advantage of their glass blowing classes at some point as well!
I took a frame to have mirror replaced in it. They were very nice reasonable and did a great job.
Hangout and watch artist make and break things!
Interesting place, very nice staff.
The experience was not what we expected. We have blown glass before in several places and since we were visiting pcb we thought we would do something on the other side of the bridge. The teaching and hands on part was not very thorough and we felt like we learned a lot more at other studios. this was pretty expensive for what was offered. Won’t be back.
16. String Queen Roni
Address: 1500 N James Ave, Panama City, FL 32405 , Panama City , Florida , United States
Amazing service amazing workers they always help me out!!!
I’ve have been going to the Alamo for years. They treat their customers great. And they are very nice people.
I put something in pawn. I had them explain the terms of the pawn twice when I first did. After the first month I came in and paid the interest on time. I was finally in a position to begin paying the principal, and went over the payment plan multiple times with him – I’d be paying weekly until the end of the month and the loan would be paid off, at which point I’d owe interest for the time it was being paid off.
I went it to make my first weekly payment today and somehow another month of interest is owed even though I paid it last week. They tried to tell me that I must have just missed knowledge of the extra payment in the five times it had been explained to me.
Thankfully I was in a position to pull the whole deal – do NOT wait until these scammers have you at their mercy. Scam likely.
Edit. I had already paid the interest for that month, and was only two days into the second month – interest for the second month wasn’t due until May 1. They are trying to say that after the first month interest payment you get charged a second time for that first month. If I’d paid it off at the end of the first month, I would have owed the principal plus the month’s interest, $1000. But since I was going into a second month, suddenly interest on the first month is owed again. The loan agreement was $200/mo. I’m two days into the 2nd month and suddenly owed $400, not $200. And at the end of this second month, I would have owed ANOTHER $200. Tell everyone why I’ve had a one month loan at $200/mo and have had to pay $400 instead. People aren’t stupid. This is the kind of scammy thing businesses are doing lately. Panhandle Gun and Pawn has jumped on to the scam bandwagon.
The Guy Johnny that deals with the cars there is a CROOK!!!!
Prices are way too high and they aren’t willing to negotiate like some of the other stores in the area. I thought going to a pawn shop prices are negotiable , but that didn’t seem to be the case with this pawn shop.
