The hermitage is a great place to stay with lots of things to do! There’s foosball tables, a pool table, an air hockey table, a basketball game, a mini movie theater, a large toy room and more! It’s a close destination to the beach as well, in a cute town. I would recommend this to anyone going through or wanting to stay somewhere near the beach!
Nice place ,beautiful stainglass of sandhill crane
Perfect place for a family reunion.
Recently stayed here and was very displeased. We stayed here over ten years ago and to this day, nothing has changed. Everything is run down, there are leaks, the floors creak, all fixtures and rooms are not up to par, and the upstairs, (where all the bedrooms are,) has no Air conditioning. This is a great space with so much potential. It’s not being used to it’s benefit. I would recommend this place to large groups, just don’t expect your stay to be comfortable.

Excellent little music shop. We went to rent a trombone for my middle-schooler, and they were very helpful finding us just the right horn for her skill level in our budget.
Great place to buy Instruments!!
The sheer amount of gear is impressive for the floor space they have. They don’t have some of the coolest stuff, but well, that’s in tune with the local market. Price are what they are, same as everywhere.
The staff is very friendly, experienced and helpful, a lot more so than the average big-national-company employee. That’s what sets them apart. That, and the quality of all the extra services they offer on the side, such as guitar tune-ups (which I used) and lessons (I’ve heard good things about).
grate serves grate insterments
Awesome because of the quality instruments. Not very organized though.
We bought our first Merlin Guitar here and we love it!
Staff needs to know when to hang up the cleats.
Mr Dorsey is very rude! He is very condescending when he talks to people. I’m surprised he gets much business but it’s probably due to there not bring many options for music stores.
Don’t try and buy a guitar box from here, it will cost you $30. American music in Caldwell will give you one for free.
5. Rick’s Music
Address: 915 W Flamingo Ave, Nampa, ID 83651 , Paris , Idaho , United States
Rick is great. He will take care of you. Definitely check it out.
Rick’s music has always shown me quality, professional service!
My daughters are professional singers and they buy their microphones there.
The members of my band come to buy strings and cords , gear for every day use.
Rick himself helps me with the set up of my guitars and my overall sound .
I highly recommend this music store ,it is excellent !
This guy is a life saver/ miracle worker! Brought him 4 old guitars and he made them all amazing. Seriously. Why go anywhere else? Service, knowledge, and just amazing skills don’t exist like him anymore. A true gem in the world of guitars.
I had Rick set up my guitar. He did a Fantastic job. Fast and reliable. One day service. I would Recommend him all who needs guitar service. AAA++++
Rick is a great guy, and there’s always a gem or two hanging on the wall. Good prices, too!
Last Saturday I took my most prized possession to Rick, I paid to have a set up and new strings put on my Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute pro. When I got it home I pulled it out and wanted to play it. I noticed right off the bat that Rick took a Utility knife or some other tool and shaved off the binding all around the fret board The fret board has gouges all the way around and the frets stick out and gouge your fret hand when you try to play it. My guitar is completely ruined! I haven’t slept in several days I’m so pissed. I in no way implied, asked for or mentioned that he do this to my guitar. I can’t even open the case it makes me so sick! I would not recommend Rick to anyone again. Rudy Rodriguez Nampa Idaho

Absolutely love this place has everything you need and more. Recommend every one check it out, your bound to find something you’ll want ☺️☺️☺️☺️
This is the best thrift store for miles around the employees are friendly and always ready to help you with anything you need.
I found some amazing goodies here! The pricing is good as well. The workers here were exceptionally nice and I will def be coming here again!
We really enjoy this thrift store! Every time we go in, there are more improvements to the organization of the store. Keep up the good work!
Unsafe place. Mice with their dropping everywhere. Owner will not take of it, nor will he get rid of the black mold growing in the basement. The spores are spreading through out the building. I wish I could give a minus 10.
7. Dunkley Music
Address: 3410 N Eagle Rd, Meridian, ID 83646 , Paris , Idaho , United States
Dunkley Music is my go to for all things
music. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!
Maddie was very helpful and professional. Had a misunderstanding about instrument rental equity, but they made it right. Very happy
Very helpful staff. Beautiful store. Quality merchandise.
Nice location. For service, I prefer the Nampa store.
I have bought a Kawai CN25 from Marion in a total of sale price of 600 plus 13 month renting period. Ends up with about 1645 U.S dollar. I am really happy with what I’ve purchased. And Marion is very nice on settling the deals with me.
Back when Dunkley’s was in-town in Boise, I was an avid customer…they always have been professional and friendly all-in-one! They still are.
All of my musical equipment, specifically my violin and flute for school orchestra/band, came from here. And I am impressed with it nowadays!
GOOO Dunkley Music!!!
Staff have very poor customer service skills, their attitude was down right rude. My issue was not resolved- despite being a customer for 8 years. It seems loyalty no longer matters to Mark Dunkley.
Best wishes to you.
I hesitate to share this review because I’m sure they have quality product and talented professionals at Dunkley. However, both times I have visited the Boise location the customer service was non existent. I won’t speculate too much why (although I have my suspicions) but being completely ignored (not even made eye contact) by multiple employees for the entire duration of the visit is unacceptable service. I’ve heard from other people who’ve had the same experience. I’ll continue going to Dorsey music in Nampa for this reason.
I took my guitar to Dunkley Music to repair its broken bridge. A week passed without so much as a phone call or e-mail to give me an estimate for the work. I stopped in and an employee told me that they intended to give my guitar to an independent tech to fix it. Fine; no worries. Four weeks passed. FOUR WEEKS. No phone call, no e-mail. I finally returned to the store to get my guitar. A different employee greeted me and retrieved my guitar from among a dozen or so others, which were no doubt collecting dust while not being worked on. She said, “Let’s take a look and see that the work has been completed.” Shocker: it hadn’t. I told her that they had had five weeks now to at least take a look at it and give me an estimate. The fact that they hadn’t was a sure sign that they didn’t give a damn about me, my guitar, or my business. I would call the service terrible, but “non-existent” is a better descriptor.
8. Blue Rider Music & Instrument Repair
Address: 595 W Ustick Rd, Meridian, ID 83646 , Paris , Idaho , United States
Excellent place! I’ll be shopping there more.. take the time to check out everything. They can usually get your needs from the inventory… very polite employees… ☠️
Run by people who care.
This place has cool vintage gear and friendly staff.
Great help and service. Instruments were priced Right and in great condition for being used.
The store is small, and the selection of instruments is not exactly large. Chances are, you’ll only find between 3 and 5 bass guitars for sale. There is usually an adequate amount of electric guitars to browse through though. Also, a fairly good selection of acoustic guitars. And, you’ll probably find some other instruments, like cigar box guitars, ukes and banjos.
If you are looking for used instruments and good deals, I think Gigs is worth visiting.
Andy, the store’s proprietor, is friendly, quite helpful, and easy to talk to. Several musicians I’ve talked with say he is a very good guitar tech.
There are one or more guitar teachers working there. I heard one was quite good, but I can’t remember his name, sorry. The teacher or teachers work with both adults and kids.
The worst thing about the store is sometimes people smoke in there. I don’t like being in an enclosed environment in which people are smoking. I tend not to stay long when I smell cigarette smoke. That’s just nasty, and discourages business.
If this store sold more bass guitars, and if no one ever smoked inside, I’ve be giving Gigs a 5 star rating instead of 4.
I remember, not too long ago Gigs Music Company was owned and operated by Rick and Debbie Schroeder. They had an impressive enventory. Then it changed hands you another great musician who worked for the Schroeders from the beginning and held it’s integrity. It seems those days are over. I’ve been there a few times lately and it saddens me to say it’s really gone down hill. To say the service is poor would be a understatement. The inventory lacks quantity and quality both. It’s definitely not getting a favorable critique from me. Three stars is more than generous in my view.
Ordered a Christmas gift for my husband from this place last year, and I’m still waiting. I called them 3 times about it and was told it was on order and they would call me. Never received a call. Very unprofessional. I believe in shopping local, but not at this Boise business.
Were supposed to open at 11, showed up at noon and waited 20 minutes and nobody showed up.
Went by to sell a couple guitars and amps on a Saturday. Hours on the door say they open at 11, but it was 1115 and noone was there. Another customer in the parking lot told me that “sometimes this just happens” and said he texted the owner to see when they were coming. At 1130 we both left. Follow the hours you show.
10. Burt’s Music & Sound
Address: 1123 Sherman Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 , Paris , Idaho , United States
Great small local business. Good assortment of instruments. Great knowledge and care for their products. Go here and support local businesses! They restoring and clean up our guitars for a very reasonable price and make sure we know all the details when picking it up.
Very helpful and friendly staff, above and beyond.
Got a strap…mask…and screw for my daughter’s saxophone they had what we needed for a decent price…we will make this place our go to place for music needs!!!
Friendly staff
Over priced.
Really good but switched my sax mouth piece for clarinet mouth piece
Two people there. One was great and full of advice the other made us feel like we had no business being there because we weren’t master musicians. I will take my business and money elsewhere.
The person working there that day didn’t really seem to want to make a sale…. The sign saying not to touch the instruments without permission was a bit off-putting.
Then, after inquiring about trying one, he selected an instrument, took it down, re-tuned it, and hung it back up. There was no sense of being encouraged to actually try it out or anything.
It was very uncomfortable and we felt quite unwelcome.
They fix guitars but your screwd if you got a Floyd rose. Other than that good store good people.
