Pete’s music & guitar shop is awesome!!! Mike was friendly and did a Great job putting on my son guitar strings. We were really satisfied with our first time experience here. We will come back here for all our guitar needs.
Good service knowledgeable and have or can get what you need for music
Very knowledgeable staff. A wide selection of band instuments, guitars, drums, just about anything you may ever need. Often has an interesting odd or end. Found a banjolin there once busted up in the process of restoring it.
In a era when local music shops are hard to find this one is a gem. Great service, great staff, fair prices. Their guitar techs are top notch and extremely reasonable…
I’m so glad they got rid of “Dr. Evil.” It was the best decision they’ve ever done in my 20 years of coming here. Buying guitar strings from him was like pulling teeth. I heard he was eventually assaulted, which is unfortunate and kind of reflects on the managers for not getting rid of him sooner.
The bearded gentleman that replaced him is worth his weight in Gold.
Give that man a RAISE. He deserves it.
I had some questions about a guitar repair on 9/23/14. I called to talk with Pete but he was not there. I talked with someone else about the needed repair. He couldn’t help me and when I tried to get some more information about when Pete would return he was non-helpful and then he told me that he had “a room full of customers.” Or in other words, this phone conversation is over. Am I not a customer? Just another employee filling a seat over there. I gave 3 stars for my rating only because Pete is awesome, but my experience with his fill-in was in complete contrast to working with Pete.
Very obnoxious dude
I cant say i have been to alot of music stores but this is defiantly one i wont be going back to watch out for the middle age bald guy. Literally the rudest most obnoxious man i have ever met in my life. DONT GO
Place is so uncomfortable. 3 people working. Complete silence. Just staring at you. Wanted to look at guitars but felt so uncomfortable.
2. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 1800 N Perris Blvd, Perris, CA 92571 , Perris , California , United States
It was the perfect place to put and have everything you can really need or want under one roof….
Super long lines, but they usually go pretty quick. Stop by early in the morning to avoid the lines.
Was very alarmed when I went to the shampoo aisle and saw that all off the hair care products for African Americans were locked up in a glass cabinet
El servicio y la atención Exelente pero mucha gente estaba comprando sin mascara Sentí mucho temor
If you shop here regularly, I recommend the Walmart app. Use the savings catcher and then scan your receipt into the app and it will automatically credit you the difference in price if a lower price is found. I have only used it for a few months and already made over $30.00 for doing nothing different than I had been doing except for scanning a receipt when I finish shopping.
Waited 30 minutes to warranty a battery and after every employee told me that someone was on the way to the sporting goods counter. No one showed up. Finally one employee told me no one was coming to help because they had left for the day and there was nobody else that could process the warranty. Horrible customer service!!!
Do not order anything online to pick up at this store! I’ve been waiting for an hour and a half in my pick up space. They do not let you go inside to pick up. They sent me outside to park. Other customers sitting in their cars said they have been here for two hours waiting. No excuse for this mess. Bottom line is bad management. Period!
Had to wait 20 minutes for service. Nice rep but bread was crushed as well as some boxes of frozen dinners.
3. C J’s Music
Address: 23898 Sunnymead Boulevard, Moreno Valley, CA 92553 , Perris , California , United States
C J’s is a very small music store. When i first entered i thought they wouldn’t have anything that great but ohh man was i wrong! I found top notch electric guitars, acoustic guitars, amps and accessories! Just take time and look and you will find! I’m a professional guitarist and was impressed!
Got my first electric guitar pedal from here recommended to me, and ever since then it’s been my number 1 use for guitar playing, plus the guys gotna good taste in music so he knows how to get top notch sound , I’d prefer this place over any guitar center or any guitar place, this is the place for guitar.
excellent service
He has a great selection of brass equipment and is very helpful with any questions.
Good customer service.
Good service.
15 years ago, I took my mom’s guitar here to be tuned for my guitar class. The owner stole the ivory tuning keys from the guitar and replaced them with white plastic tuning keys without asking me. When I came back to pay, he made it seem that he had upgraded my guitar for free. I went home and my mom broke into tears. I hadn’t realized that I had been ripped off. We returned, and asked for them back. With a smirk on his face, he told my father and me that he had thrown them out and that there was no way to get them back. It was obvious that he was lying. He ripped off a child, and that always plays back in my mind.
Dropped my guitar off with a case, cracked my case and cracked my guitar when u got it back, had to send it back a again because they diddnt do a good job the first time (they made it worse then I brought it in) took another 2 weeks for them do a decent job. Don’t recommend, ended up with a crack/ chip in my guitar, crack in my case that was brand new and can not be used anymore, and a dirty guitar, they did not clean it after leaving their marks on the guitar
They weren’t able to help me.
4. JKEAA Music Services
Address: 19069 Van Buren Boulevard # 113, Riverside, CA 92508 , Perris , California , United States
Great service here got my instrument and it works really good
The best attention. Thanks so much
Very good service! Thanks Martie and Andy
Update: We had a recent issue with being given much higher pricing on an instrument we rented than initially quoted. However, the manager got involved and, while the price we paid wasn’t what we were initially told when we first rented it, the final price that we ended up paying for the instrument was fair. It’s a good store. There just needs to be more consistency among the staff so that customers feel that they can trust what they are told.
the employees who work here have a great attitude and will help you with whatever you need the prices aren’t to high and they have good quality for their products. this is the only place i go to, to get any thing i need for my guitar such as picks and straps. I highly recommend shopping here!
Things have changed at the music repair shop within the last year. It’s all about money and not customer service and satisfaction. On top of that I had a conn 6m alto saxophone that I took to them over two years trying to get fixed correctly and after shelling out over $500 I repair costs I finally took it somewhere else who guaranteed to get it fixed right and said they never fixed the problem.
5. Guitar Center
Address: 2550 Canyon Springs Pkwy A, Riverside, CA 92507 , Perris , California , United States
These people are my “2nd family”! They are GREAT! They know what they are talking about! Very educated on music. They know what I like, my style and they will even fix or repair what I have. This store ROCKS!
Awesome
This is a neat place to check out. They have a great variety of instruments and they’re very friendly and knowledgeable.
Probably the best customer service that I’ve gotten in a music store. The only reason why I’m giving a 3 stars is because they outsource there guitar repairs to someone who has absolutely no concept of quolity assurance or even knowledge of how to do a standard set-up.
IN SHORT go to the store for lessons and to buy stuff while feeling really welcomed, BUT for the sake that is all holy with electric guitar repairs; DO NOT TAKE YOU’RE GUITAR THERE FOR REPAIRS.
I really like this place, it sells really good reeds. Quick question.. Do you guys fix violin’s?
11/08/2017 EDIT: No longer Music Mike’s, they sold out and it went corporate. Some of the employees stayed behind, which is pretty cool. I recently bought a breedlove guitar, and that transaction went well. Their inventory is really low at the moment during their changes and remodel, they didn’t have my fav strings. I’ll update after they become a bit more established.
(5 Star) Music Mike’s: Parking on the side street or in rear, from Brockton. Pretty cool place. Within a few seconds I was asked if I needed any help. I shop local a lot, mom and pop stores to support small businesses, this place def on my list now.
Send my guitar for set-up and never see and talk to the technician and tell the salesman about the problem and they said they will fix it and took the payment. But when i got my guitar the problem still exist.they to send it back twice and never fix the problem. I will never again to send my guitar without seeing a technician and a work shop in a store. I learned my lesson. Beware!!!
I love the instructor’s, but it seems as the counter staff are confused on company standard operating procedures. As a family we started in October of 2022 and by January we noticed excessive billing. This is the Riverside plaza location. If I don’t understand the billing process and neither do the staff then I need to take my money elsewhere.
They take simple things and make them very complicated. All I wanted was a simple return and it turned into a week long ordeal. Not shopping here anymore. Sam Ash is cheaper anyway.
7. The Salvation Army Thrift Store & Donation Center
Address: 24201 Orange Ave, Perris, CA 92570 , Perris , California , United States
Very roomy, clean. Good sales. Wish their linen selection was larger.
Went to donate a few things and the guy helping threw a porcelain mug and plate set into the back of this trailer as if it wasn’t going to break. It broke and he looked at me as if nothing. I could have just thrown it in the trash if they are going to be careless like that. I donate there because I knew people that have benefited from the programs but after seeing these trailers packed to the brim with no.care. I will not be donating to them anymore.
overpriced used tools. you get cheaper at harborfrieght
It ok
8. Harvard Street Music Exchange
Address: 134 S Harvard St, Hemet, CA 92543 , Perris , California , United States
Great music shop very knowledgeable & friendly staff
Nice selection of guitars & amps
Nice store, helpful people!
Great selectiob
Great music store in Hemet right in the downtown area. Good selection of guitars & bass guitars. I just wish they had a larger drum section with selection of snaredrums & cymbals.
Record selection is hit or miss but ever growing and well priced
This is a very nice local music store, but it is also a very arrogant and unfriendly place if you do not fit their desired profile. I wrote the owner before posting an adverse review, no response. Too bad, but they are the best excuse for not supporting local business.
Over priced on everything…service has gone bad
Left my acoustic electric guitar to be diagnosed on Saturday for no sound output. Was promised by Jason that it would be looked at and I would receive a call Monday with a quote on the repair. Monday passed with no call. I called Tuesday to check on it and the guy that answered seemed bothered and impatient with me. He said he didn’t see my guitar anywhere in the store and had no idea what was being done with it. He put me on hold for a couple minutes and looked for it, it was still in the store. He abruptly answered saying, “I found it I call you back in a little bit” and then just hung up on me. 3 hours passed and I called back. Someone else answered and said the previous employee had taken it apart and then just left for the day. No call back again to let me know what was being done. Wednesday passed, no call back. I called today Thursday and was told they sent it to their outside technician to fix it, not quote it. I told them to just bring it back to the store so I could pick it up, I was tired of the run around and lack of communication on their part. Completely unprofessional and lack of customer service here. I will never step in this store again!
9. Music & Arts
Address: 39520 Murrieta Hot Springs Rd #223, Murrieta, CA 92563 , Perris , California , United States
Master Musician has friendly helpful employees. I play the violin and i LOVE to shop here.
A few months ago, I entered the rent-to-own program for a Yamaha violin. The instrument is very nice, and the staff is very friendly whenever I have questions as a beginner!
We had my daughter’s flute tuned and replaced parts. Great customer service experience so friendly and knowledgeable. Calm first (we stopped by on a Friday night) for an open music session.
Very good service.
Great place to go for all your musical instrument needs! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, wide variety of services. However, I would lean away from buying any brass or woodwind instruments from them, as their instruments are poor quality and tend to break rather easily.
Customer service was great, but products were out of stock without knowing the next restock date or available only online.
Horrible customer service, Managment and corporate. Have been owed $280 for a refund for 3 months now and have got the run around from Kirk the store manager, Samantha the district manager doesn’t answer or return calls. Can’t do refunds at a store level according to them but corporate says to go to the store and they’ll handle it. Have left over 10 voicemails with Samantha and received 1 call back stating the refund would be processed the week of September 19th and October 21st and no refund and no call back from anyone.
Rented instruments there and throughout the year were good but then I was charged when I returned them by mistake. I have been calling them for a refund and have been unsuccessful. Spoke to the store manager Kirk and was told he would send another email when he had sent one 4 days ago and did not get a response. He was careless about the customer and did not consider my frustration with the situation. It should not take almost 15 days for this still not to be taken care of. When I addressed him about the situation and asked to talk to his boss, he stated he could not give me her information and to call the call center myself. Absolutely unacceptable the type of customer service I have received. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
We had NEVER owned a violin in iur lives. My daughter wanted to try the violin and the instructor suggested renting to own at this stoee. We rented 1/2 size supposedly new rent to own ( BY the way my daughter maybe played 3 weeks and both even that much on that violin) when the teacher said the violin was too big and we needed to exchange for a 1/4 size. When we exchanged the tech told us the bow was not it, and when we returned he did gave us a crapp bow that really lookes like it had been used for MONTHS and he told us that came from our box. Like i said, we NEVER owned violins before. Now we have a basic worthless bow back. And by the way. The bow that came with the 1/4 size does not look new and did not come wrapped in plastic. Just to be written somewehre so when we return you will not accuse us of returning something that we did not. Buyers beware and take pictures of what you rent/ buy or return.
