Shout out to Dave and Bob at Mr Music in Ft Myers. Spent Christmas at father in law’s in Bonita Springs. We were looking for a case/bag for our son’s banjo. I called left message at Mr Music. Got a call back from Bob in a few minutes and he informed me that he was pretty sure that they had a bag and that Dave would be in shortly and call to confirm. Got a call from Dave about a half hour later said he had two bags. My wife and I found the store easily and Dave had the bag waiting. The store had every kind of Instrument. String, brass, woodwind, percussion and accordions. Dave’s family has a long and famous history as accordion playing. After a great conversation about accordion players and music in general, we decided to look around and ended up getting an electric tenor ukulele for one of our daughters. A nice wooden percussion set for another daughter and a stand and banjo lessons for our son. Mr Music offers lessons for any kind of instrument, seven days a week! I’d just like to add that I’ve been a musician for over thirty years. I’ve been to a lot of music stores across the country and Mr Music is certainly at the top of my list. I would highly recommend Mr Music for any of your music needs. From sales and service to lessons Mr Music has the experience and expertise for all your music needs. Thanks again to Bob and Dave, and we hope to see you next time we’re in Ft Myers.
The owner and staff are all professionals. Everyone of them is helpful and very encouraging. I highly recommend Mr. Music to anyone looking to improve their life with music.
Had everything I needed for my banjo.
I took music lessons here for a while. Everyone inside was really nice and the instructor was really knowledgeable.
I didn’t like that I was being pressured to pre pay for continued lessons even though I couldn’t with my work schedule. When I told them I couldn’t schedule anything further until a week of two, the guy started telling me i would lose my spot and there would be nothing he could do.
Overall, not a bad experience, just really put a damper on it.
Plenty of parking , decent customer service, good selections of instruments , prices not that good, sales rep tried to push sales instead of suggestions.
Nice Place but very pricey… A lot of things you can get on Amazon for way cheaper.
Can’t give zero stars. If you feel like you need to form your own opinion that’s fine. But I can promise you that I never write bad reviews. Take it or leave it.
Made a HUGE mistake purchasing a digital piano from Mr Music, Inc – Fort Myers. I wanted to support a small local business and I did something I don’t usually do and purchased it without looking the product up online. I figured I would be paying a little more by not buying from a big box store but turns out I paid over DOUBLE!! And the owner is very firm on the no return policy. Do NOT make the same mistake I did. I take responsibility for my lack of research but am disappointed that this small business is ripping people off so bad.
Carl says he’s “reactionary” teacher (no lesson plans). Be prepared to tell the teacher what you need to learn??? 6 lessons and what I learned is how good Carl can play guitar and that it’s a really difficult instrument to learn. What a POS! Dave (the owner) is okay.
Great selection and friendly staff, it’s always fun to go there.
Such a fun place to bring our family and learn about music and instruments.
Good selection. Some guitars with rusty strings need some love. No sales pressure, friendly.
Good prices and a large selection.
Very busy, prices are in line with most national places. Nice selection, a little dirty, lack the personal touch of local shops.
They told me on the phone “Yes we have that in stock”. I get to the store, 12 miles, and sure enough they have it in stock. And if I pay full price I can order it, wait a week, then finally get to see and play the thing. Of course if it has any flaws or defects Guitar Center will gladly give you a check that takes 10 business days to clear the bank, or….. they can order another one shipped in, another wait of a week at least.
It seems that Guitar Center doesn’t understand the most basic idea of a “music store”, allowing the customer to try an instrument and compare it to others before deciding to spend their hard earned money.
Seriously Guitar Center you need to give me a reason to even drive to your store here in Ft Myers. Consider this fact! Musicians Friend offers the exact same process of buying an instrument that the Ft Myers store does. Buy it first then see if you like it when it arrives.
And under that buying process Guitar Center has made it clear they don’t really want/need customers in their stores.
Waste of time have nothing they advertise on sale
I’ve been here multiple times and every time I go there and the employees are helpful but always very pretentious about everything. I leave empty handed because I’ll ask about a product that is in my budget and they usually say that that is not a good product and trying to out-smart me about things that I have researched however they always end up having a “better”, extremely more expensive product. I am on a budget and I really need this product and don’t want to spend shipping costs on it if they have it at the store. I understand if they don’t have the product in stock, but they don’t have to be pretentious and assume I don’t know anything just because I am female. It is extremely annoying and I am done doing business with them if they are so interested, in trying to make me look stupid and having me go way out of my budget on simple adapters and products.
7. Jay & Kay’s Organ & Piano Co.
Address: 1400 Colonial Blvd Ste 1B, Fort Myers, FL 33907 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
I’ve been taking piano lessons here for a month now (with Carol, who is absolutely lovely!!), and I’ve met both Jay and Kay, who are very kind and helpful. I love their store, it’s very welcoming, and I enjoy my time there every time I come. I always look forward to coming and seeing their friendly faces.
As for Carol, she’s extremely sweet, and I love my time with her. Half an hour is too short! She keeps me on track with what I want to learn, while also teaching me theory since I’ve never had a foundation. She keeps it fun and does a great job of telling me kindly when I do something incorrectly, and showing me the correct way, along with ways to remember for the future.
As I said before, I greatly anticipate every week, usually before I even leave the lesson I’m currently at 🙂
I was very pleased with the attention that I received and the demonstration of the organ that I was interested in. I was allowed to play the organ at my convenience(with my organ shoes!) and as long as I wished. I was particularly impressed with David Jozaities’ talent and also his understanding of my needs. I am glad I found Jay & Kay’s!
I am a senior hobbyist I visited with Jay recently for help moving from keyboards back to more traditional instrument. Jay was most helpful in showing benefits of Roland newest line of organs, since I used to play many different types of organ’s in the past Jay’s skill with the instrument and his comment’s led me to purchase a Roland organ. Now that I have played this organ for several days, I am sure I made the right choice—-
Friendly and knowledgeable … good experience!
Shopping at Jay and Kay’s is always a pleasure.
Great people very helpful highly recommended
I’m new to the area being only 4 years in Cape Coral. While our 1st home we built didn’t have room for a Piano. I made sure that our 2nd home we are building now does. With all the shortages of product inventory I decided to buy a Piano now. Being a former business owner I try to buy everything from local companies. I called Jay & Kay by phone I explained exactly what I’ve told you above. I said to Jay I’m picking up a sandwich from Parkway subs and illl be there in 20 minutes. Upon my arrival I entered the store. No greetings. I walked around for about 25 minutes. No one ever approached us. I took a card off their desk and wrote a note. Left my phone number. No one has ever called me.back. That was on 07/26/2021. Not sure why Jay invited us to his showroom with detailed instructions of their location. Waste of time. I drove down to Piano Distributors and then to Nicks Pianos. I was greeted very well by Anthony and Nick at each location. Then I drive to Dave’s Piano’s Tamps area again another professional very knowledgeable as well. I compared the 3. I made my selection and place a deposit on the 60k piano
Don’t bother going to Jay & Kay they don’t need to waste your time
Sadly to say I wanted to buy in my local neighborhood. Support the local businesses after the Covid 19 destruction.
I personally left their business card on the counter and had wrote a note on the back asking them to call me with my phone number on it. Crickets !!!
8. Fort Myers School of Music
Address: 1400 Colonial Blvd #260, Fort Myers, FL 33907 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
My son has had an amazing experience in this school. His teachers are super professional (Ms. Diane and Ms. Melissa). A very special thank to Rosa (front desk) for her patience and attention to details. We appreciate her and the excellent job she does. Thank you.
Sensacional.
Fort Myers School of Music is great place to learn music and instruments.
We have had 5 lessons so far and 2/5 the instructor has called out. The very first lesson they didn’t even let us know until we were already there.
Was interested in taking lessons. The location & pricing were good for me. Perhaps the instructors are great, but we will never know as the person who answers the phone is really not a good representative of the business and is losing you customers. Almost sounded like a 14yo girl who didn’t know the answers to any questions, didn’t understand why you would want to know a little about the teacher u were selecting…just there so the phone stops ringing. So annoying as I really wanted to try this place out. Giving a 2nd star for at least there being a website & someone answering the phone.
Firstly, my complaint isn’t about my instructor. Steve has been fantastic from day one; he’s extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. I stuck with this school as long as I could because of him, and it’s hard to leave for that reason.
Be prepared, DON’T miss a lesson. They won’t reschedule and you’ll still have to pay for that week. You can go to a group meeting to make up, but you’re paying for a private lesson; makes perfect sense.
BE AWARE, they remind you of your first renewal, and then renew your lessons without as much as a heads up.
DON’T call with ANY complaints or questions; they don’t seem to care. They just remind you of the paperwork you signed, that they hardly explained (and what they did explain, they were very vague). You won’t get anything but a nasty reply. I had called to inform them I wanted to cancel my lessons while I was out of town for the next few weeks (being I didn’t want to pay for them and not be there) and the only thing they could say was “well, aren’t you doing them online?”
Great professors, not so much with the front desk staff. I will truly miss working with Steve.
9. Palm Coast Studio
Address: 6225 Presidential Ct #150, Fort Myers, FL 33919 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
Terrific teacher, each lesson brings new challenges and improvement to my playing. Her insights are so helpful. A perfect place for anyone young or old to learn piano or improve their skills.
Dr. Teruni is an exceptional instructor and goes above and beyond for her students, she truly cares about her students progression. She quickly recognized my level of knowledge and has really helped guide me through with efficiency and patience to truly understand the fundamentals of the piano but also the fundamentals of reading and understanding the technique required to perform it. Highly recommend her services for anyone of any age who wishes to learn the piano.
Sidenote: She has a wonderful studio at her home.
Dr. Teruni is an incredible teacher. In just a few lessons, she has given my son the tools he needs to make huge strides. And he continues to improve and learn quickly. Even he seems surprised by the difference her instruction has made. We absolutely adore Miss Asya, and recommend her wholeheartedly.
13. Stellar Records
Address: 4204 Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33901 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
So Nice to have a music store in Ft.myers with friendly service and great music.
Best record collection around and knowledgeable. Also some of the best people run and own the store.
We had some records that we thought that they would be interested in. Liz and Chris were so pleasant to talk to. Liz did end up buying some of our records. We wish them all the success in their new location.
Excited for what this local vinyl spot will become. They are working on increasing inventory at the moment. Had a nice conversation with the owner, Liz. Friendly chill environment. Wide musical options – jazz, heavy, hip hop, alternative, rock, soft. They’ve been open for a few weeks now. They have a listening station to check out used vinyl quality before buying which I really appreciate. New/used and a bargin $2.99 bin. From what I looked at the grading of used vinyl is in line. Also some 8-track and cassette items for purchase. She is reviewing and purchasing collections by appointment at the moment and was interested in my “want list” should she come across it. Picked up a Wu-Tang (forever), Tribe and OXO vinyl. Thanks, Liz!!!
They were out of stickers. She’s getting more in and she promised to set some aside for me.
14. Best Buy
Address: 5019 S Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33907 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
Great place to learn an instrument. My nine year old son is playing the drums so well because of his teacher!
I purchased an Oscar Schmidt OG2 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Koa Gigbag bundle, OG2KOA BACKPACK… Thanks guys… I’m impressed!!
First, the guitar came in perfect condition and quickly enough since i also ordered it on a Friday evening.
Secondly, It’s beautiful…
Lastly, The sound quality is exceptional!!
I’m not going to hold back…GREAT BUY!!!
THANK YOU TOTAL MUSIC SOURCE!!
Epic gang
I came in here with my friends interested in a particular product, only to find out that this stores prices are completely outrageous. Will gladly take my business elsewhere.
Bought a guitar for my 11 year old son we got and it was heavy and to big so we returned it cause Totalmusicsource says yes we do refunds.before putting it back in the box I looked it over there was no scratches I went to the length of wrapping it completely in bubble wrap and taped the only way it got scratches on it is from Total music source cutting the tape. Any way had to open a case up with eBay there attitudes and customer service is terrible. I know good customer service because I own 5 retail locations and have been in business for over 25 years. So I spent $806 dollars they were to minus shipping around $48 received a refund of $515. Let this be a lesson when you purchase online . Terrible service.
not good enough store, 2/10
16. Master Mindz Music
Address: 3614 Evans Ave, Fort Myers, FL 33901 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
Clint and his sidekick did a wonderful job solving my problem and I would recommend them to ANYBODY who needs assistance with the electronics in their home.
I have used this company on several jobs, from hanging a 77” TV on the wall to cleaning out my cabinet full of spaghetti wires for various components. Every time they have been quick to respond and completed the job above my expectations! Do not consider anyone else for your A/V needs!
Robert called me back right away and actually helped me resolve my issue over the phone, saving me an in home visit. Great customer service.
18. Andre Dean Audio
Address: 3706 Broadway, Fort Myers, FL 33901 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
The owner of this place is awesome! He helped me with replacing an amp in my car and had it done within 30 minutes. His pricing is very fair. I highly recommend going here.
Craig treated me right. He stayed over late to finish the job. Took the time to work thru any issues etc I had the next day. Very professional
What can I say. What ever you need he can do it and if he can’t he’ll let you know it… Honest, hardworking and trustworthy. There is no 1 better I would trust with my car…
Always very helpful
Paid 500 for a new radio, then another 500 for installation and a bunch of harness adapters so it could easily be returned to stock, with no cut wires. This guy shoved a cardboard box in my dash because he couldnt get the radio level, and never installed the harness adapters he charged me for, instead cut the wires, as well i brought my own amp wiring kit, he gutted the kit and used my wires where easy to view, and put in cheaper wires where he thought nobody would ever check. He also tried to get me to pay cash so he ‘didnt have to charge me sales tax’ i paid with my credit card once he said that. BUYER BEWARE, RIPOFF ARTIST!! When confronted craig will curse you out as well.
One of the most nasty attitudes I’ve seen in a while, the teck. that installed a smart start device on my vehicle was dumber than a box of rocks I am that it is either family , friends or someone he paid to wrlte those reviews cause the guy that was there yesterday isn’t even qualify to turn a stereo on not to mention install one. What a rude person to yell at a costumer like that.
Repeatedly made me wait and call back and keep asking for my refund. Ended with me thanking him and aaking one last question of logistics of the refund and finishing with him cussing me out in an awful tone over the phone.
20. Educators Music
Address: 110 NE 2nd Pl, Cape Coral, FL 33909 , Pine Manor , Florida , United States
Love this place, staff is knowledgeable and has a ton of experience!! If they don’t have it they will order it and they give the best lessons in town.
This is always a go to place if i need stuff for my guitars. Nice people.
EM is the real deal!!! I bought my first guitar and amp from Educators Music in May of 2019 – Chris D. was super helpful. I take lessons every week from Tim – awesome instructor. I can’t say enough good things about Educators Music….and I can now play Hair Metal that my wife recognizes and sings to! It’s never too late to start playing guitar.
Decades old institution in SWFL. Quality teaching for various musical paths and a modest store with competitive pricing. Fun laid back cafe with live music rounds out the experience of this gem in cape coral!
Instructor was playing on his phone while my son was in his lesson and the front desk is rude and incompetent.
I don’t recommend this music store. The woman working couldn’t find our violin case and blamed us for not calling ahead. Very inconvenient as we have to make another trip to retrieve it.
At first I thought it was a decent little store. It does not have much of a selection, but it had guitar strings, which is what I needed at the time… then I tried talking to the sales person. He wasn’t much help, and seemed like he had better things to do.
It got worse when I was talking with the owner. I was trying to make small talk with him, but he was a bit standoffish. He Became rude when I was telling him that it was an interesting little place, but I’d come back I like it. After that he acted like I should just buy the strings and get out… which is what I did.
After that experience I have decided that I will not be buying anything from them.
