Never been here but I’m gonna rate it 5 stars because I’m nice 🙂 lol
Also, do you guys take barely used instruments?
I have a snare drum I’ve had for two years and I don’t use it and so I’m looking for a place to sell it to.
Big Event is the place to go for your video production or audio recording needs. Great staff that is very knowledgeable and can help you with any of your needs. Brent, the owner, is a great guy and one heck of a guitarist. Give them a holler and they can hook you up!
Great place! The staff knows there science.
My one stop shop for all my musical needs. You can also record tracks. Awesome place.
Very Helpful! Thank you for your service to our community.
Nice music shop.
Holy cow. I didn’t even know this place was open until I went inside. Not very inviting and the whole building needs renovations. Seemed very trashy. Almost made me feel like the items there have less value just because of how badly ran the building is.
I bought a lot of things from Brent when the store sold instruments and amps and was always happy with them. Unfortunately, things have changed. I brought a guitar in that needed a rewire job. I was aware they were busy with festivals but they kept my guitar for 2 months and finally called and told me they didn’t have time to fix it. Needless to say, I wont be back.
Not enough inventory
2. Guido’s Hot Springs Music
Address: National Park, 812 Higdon Ferry Rd, Hot Springs, AR 71913 , Piney , Arkansas , United States
Guido’s is by far one of the best guitar shops I have been to. I’m new to the area and needed help and his knowledge of guitars is phenomenal and has quick turn around. Thank you Guido for the awesome work and experience, I look forward to future interactions.
Great place for musicians
Guido has an excellent selection of used and vintage guitars and amps. I have purchased dozens of guitars and amps from Hot Springs Music. He has a great selection of acoustics, electrics, amps, and basses. He has instruments from under $100 all the way up to over $10,000. He’s competitive on price and easy to deal with. He constantly brings in new gear from customer trades, and from various guitar shows he attends across the country. I highly recommend Guido for your musical needs. Just don’t tell him Chi Town sent you.
Great service and reasonable prices.
I was playing an acoustic while the owner was making a sale. While seeing he was making a sale, I knew to play quietly. The owner stopped, looked at me and my age, (19) and told me to put the guitar up if I wasn’t a serious customer. He then proceeded to take the guitar himself and tell me to ask to play the guitars. I’ve never had that happen before at this specific store. So, I then went to the electric section to try out a Fender Jaguar. After I plugged in and tuned up, I went to play. After the owner made his sale, he proceeded to tell me that I was being disrespectful by not asking and yanked the guitar for me and put it up. He then kicked me out. I’ve never been treated so poorly at a music store in my life. You sir, have a lost a loyal customer.
Does anyone know if $5 is a fair price for two plastic bridge pins we bought here? We also bought a string which was extra, so the total was well over $5 according to the receipt, which I kept. Seems like you can find six bridge pins for $5.99 online with free shipping. Wondering what the price for a full set of six bridge pins is at this store? I’m guessing $15? Just asking… (update Jan 10, 2019: Big Event on Grand sells bridge pins for 75 cents each, as opposed to $2.50 each at Guido’s.)
I drove from Benton to look at a guitar I called about for my son. This has been several months ago but it left such a bad taste in my mouth I found myself thinking about how bad it was and decided I should warn others so they won’t be disappointed by a similar experience.
The guitar was beat up pretty bad but straight otherwise. The owner (the tall heavy set gentlemanwith longish gray hair) was asking $125 for the guitar and was the only person working. The guitar is $145 new (Ibanez Mikro) and was on sale new for $125 @ guitar center. I offered him $100 (way more than I should have). He didn’t bother to look up and said no. I asked would he budge. Again he answered no while hardly acknowledging me. I showed him that it was in sale for the same price new. He told me I should by the new one because he wasn’t budging on his price. I took his advice and that’s what I did. It seemed as if he didn’t care if he sold anything or not. I’ll never shop there again. I previously bought a MIM strat and nice amp from one of the other sales men. I mentioned to him that I was a repeat customer, he just didn’t care. Very disappointed. I wish I were writing g a glowing review about the great deal and excellent service I received. Unfortunately it was a bad experience from the time I stepped in and hardly acknowledged to the time I left. I notice that someone has an excuse for every negative review. I’m anxious to see what the excuse is for my experience considering I was hardly spoken to. I think you have to be friends with the owner for him to care you are even there.
– The person who replied to this made my pint for me. If the guitar came with a case why wasn’t that mentioned to my wife and I. We questioned why a guitar with dings and scratches was priced the same as new one. Wouldn’t that have been a great time to explain that it came with a $75 hard case. It should be no mystery why you can’t make a deal with everyone with these sales tactics. Take some responsibility for you actions and stop blaming your customers. You have accused them of stealing, damaging your equipment confusing you with a pawn shop. Lol!! I would bet every excuse you’ve replied with is a lie to excuse your actions and blame your customer. There are tons of guitars for sale on craigslist, in pawnshops, online I suggest anyone thinking of shopping with you use one of these other options. Have a nice day.
3. FYE
Address: 4501 Central Ave #142, Hot Springs, AR 71913 , Piney , Arkansas , United States
Fun store lots of cool music and memorabilia. Definitely go here everytime I visit the mall. Now keep in mind they still charge mall prices, but I don’t care o like this place.
I love this store. They have great service. I could just brows all day.
Music a.d anything pop. CUlture

Pretty cool store just rude staff
I mean the only one in town. But love for cause can find alot that you can’t around town. And love the sells
Wandered into the Hot Springs Mall location. Yes, there is so much to look at but the prices are stupid high even with whatever sale they have going. Second, my 16 year old daughter was purchasing a marvel canvas and the clerk talked her into a 10% discount by signing up for a music online service that had a rotating fee. The clerk knew it was for adults over 18 years old but still convinced her to sign up. My daughter was happy about the discount when she told me outside but when I read the print at the bottom I had to explain what it meant and the clerk never told her. I went back into the store and confront the clerk who admitted to doing so to a child because she even admitted she gave a false date of birth to do the subscription. I talked with the manager about policies and procedures. Not happy with what happened.
Went to this FYE and the store was fantastic up until check out where the cashier tried to sneakily enroll me in a monthly magazine subscription without being upfront about it. I know employees are unfairly pressured to get a certain number of people to sign up for these things but this is not the way to get them. Very slimy, dirty, and underhanded.
Shelley Martin is simply the best flute teacher I ever had.. She was my flute teacher from 1996-2001 at Henderson State University while I studied for my BA in Music and she never gave up on someone who was so far behind everyone else in her studio. She just pushed me to become a better musician little by little over the years through her teaching and by being an example herself of what to aspire to.
Love Miss Martins she has so much experience, Patience and dedication with her students she is doing a wonderful job with my daughter and I which we didn’t had any experience with piano but her dedication has bringing us to learn and discover how beautiful piano lessons can be
Thank you for your patience, skill, and ability to make learning the piano fun for my son!
Awesome selection and service. Recommended to anyone with any sort of affinity for records, whether they’re a collector or a casual listener.
Random Records is one of my favorite spots in Hot Springs due to the vast selection and a really friendly owner who loves what she does. A must visit for sure.
Love getting my records here very good price and super nice! TCB ⚡️
This store has made significant improvements! A good rotation of new stock hand picked by the owner and cautiously graded make this a store to visit often…
Was not even there
10. Crystal Hill Recording and Sound
Address: 541 Prospect Ave, Hot Springs, AR 71901 , Piney , Arkansas , United States
I was in there store yesterday, i found both guys very friendly and easy to get a long with, I bought a 4 string base at a pawn shop that i really liked the day before because i could not find them thanks to gps and google map. They have a smaller one that i am going to go back and get. You could not ask for a better store to do business with and there prices are better than a pawn shop. Five stares all the way
I already have the instrument I want.
The Guitar Shop made it sound as sweet as I wanted. (Did I make my point?).
This is small B&M guitar shop trying to stay alive in a market dominated by Guitar Center and online retailers like Musician’s Friend and Sweetwater.
They don’t carry Gibson or Fender, but do carry a lot of other quallity brands and quality guitars. Mark, the tech there at the time of this writing is great – He’s done work for me on several of my guitars and has given me honest advice (even when that meant NOT selling me something) for years.
Ronnie, the owner is an opinionated guy, but he does know his stuff. If you can tell what it is you’re looking for in terms of what you want to play, he’ll be able to tell you what guitars can handle it and help you find one that fits you in your price range.
They also get a great discount if you order Curt Mangan strings through them. I just got a box of custom gauge pure nickel for $84 that would have cost $108 if I ordered direct from Curt Mangan’s website. They also have a lot of Curt Mangan strings a variety of gauges and materials (both electric and acoustic) in stock – they’re great strings, try them and I don’t think you’ll be going back to D’Addario or Ernie Ball any time soon.
They don’t have the selection of a mega store like Guitar Center. What they do have is a very knowledgeable staff, and great service before, during, and especially after each sale.’
Edit: the location on the map is a bit off – they’ve moved to a smaller venue in the strip mall in the Walmart shopping center at the junction of Airport Road and Albert Pike.
