Patrick is wonderful!! Our daughter has learned so much. She can read music and play the guitar amazingly at age 8 all because of Patrick. Best part is she LOVES going to lessons!!
Patrick is a wonderfully gifted musician and teacher. He has created a very welcoming environment at his studio for all ages to learn and improve. I have been a musician for many years and in my first lesson with Patrick after playing a little he knew exactly what I could work on to improve. I would not hesitate to reccomend him to any of my family or friends or you reading this review.
My daughter is currently taking vocal lessons with Jess. I highly recommend her as a vocal coach. She is very patient and encouraging to her students. She always has a very positive attitude towards her students and takes the time to explain the different vocal techniques to ensure understanding in order to help students achieve their musical best.

5. The Guitar Workshop

Had some fret work completed. Mario did great work with a fast turnaround. Will be bringing all my guitars to him from now on. Highly recommend.
I’ve had 4 guitars set up by Mario. Each one plays better than new. He has a fine eye for every detail. The prices are very reasonable and the turn around is quick. I just can’t say enough good things about The Guitar Workshop !!!!!!!
Highly recommend Mario. Did great work on my PRS. I also send my students and acquaintances to him for any guitar work needed!
Small local, full service repair shop. Nice owner. Spent time with each guitar asking questions about what I wanted and took notes. Turn around time is a bit long, but that means alot of people think the work is worth the wait.
Great place for guitar repair.
6. Left ‘Round Records
Address: 24402 Lockport St Unit 118, Plainfield, IL 60544 , Plainfield , Illinois , United States
This was a very well organized record shop. I also appreciated that there was some thought on what they took in, so you didn’t have to dig and dig to find the treasure. That is just my personal preference (my husband is a digger) it was clean and smelled nice, and the staff were super friendly. They even had some vintage video games there. Along with cds, cassettes, and some laser discs.
Great Store!!! Best selection and Best condition Vintage Vinyl!!!
This store has a moderately sized but comprehensive jazz section. I Immediately found records I could not find elsewhere, like Walter Wanderly and Cal Tjader. The music playing in store was not ear bleeding loud nor offensive. It was a nice experience.
Very nice people,
Friendly staff, wide selection
Decent selection. Exorbitant prices.
Nice environment with a friendly worker with tons of records but Sadly for any Hip-Hop Fans they have no designation for Hip-Hop vinyl with only a hand full lying around so that’s why I am giving it one star would think They would have more because Hip-hop/Rap music leads in music genre in the United States but unfortunately here it’s not the case.

You couldn’t ask for better people to own a record shop. They’re incredibly knowledgeable about the subject matter of an artist and their music and their cat is so cute and super sweet. They’re probably some of the nicest people I’ve met and I definitely recommend stopping by.
Super cool shop. Pricing is very fair and records are clean and shiny. Finally another shop on the far south side of the area. Collectors, give them your business!
Awesome experience. Very friendly. Exchanged new music between Alex and myself. Amazing selection of vinyl.
Wonderful Place – to have Fun and Start kids off learning to have fun with music! We Love You Maggie!
SOR- Plainfield has turned out to be one of my best musical investment. Hands on Professional Approach to any Genre of Music-Great instructors, and a staff with supporting Owners.
I am very disappointed with the work of the School of Rock Plainfield, in the 9 days that have passed since the agreement on a trial lesson for my six-year-old daughter, none of the managers of the School of Rock Plainfield checked and noticed that the lesson time was not set correctly, and when we arrived, they simply offered to come to the next week. My child was very upset because all this time, she was looking forward to this lesson, and I had to think carefully and reschedule her other classes for the time of the scheduled lesson. I was upset that the manager did not even consider it necessary to approach us. She spoke to me, standing at the opposite end of the hall. I don’t know how they teach music, but the management is very unprofessional.

Average retail experience. It’s a nice change of pace to be able to go into stores and see musical products in person before buying. This guitar center had plenty of instrument options to explore and had a few staff on hand to help. Odd arrows were taped to the floor but no directional shopping was really necessary.
Rob the store manager isn’t a good person
I go in to try out a new bass and ask for a chord to plug up and theytell me to there is some already out. First off I do not like the attitude and I refuse to test out a expensive bass using a amp of 100 watts because those are the only ones that have a chord in them. then When I finally get my chord after asking someone else all of the quality amps are not even plugged in. On top of that there variety in basses is atrocious. I would like to play an american deluxe precision or dimension or even a jazz even though I already have that jazz bass. They do not even carry the american elite jazz bass yet. Every other gc does.
Not much to add here. All the people that rated this store one star, pretty much nailed it on the head with their comments. I’ve been shopping at guitar center since I was 14 years old (now 41), going to the old south side location on cicero ave in burbank and this store at the Joliet location…..well….its just a sorry store. The last two times I went here since the new year of 2014, I’ve walked out shaking my head and saying to myself, “Why did I come here”. The last time I walked our pissed off almost yelling at the guy’s that work here. They have absolutely NO KNOWLEDGE OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS! Sorry GC, but you’ve become the Walmart of guitar shopping and I’m done shopping at your stores. I will either go to Sam Ash now or just take my chance on an ebay purchase.
13. Black Dog Vinyl Cafe

Great spot to catch live music, grab a cup of coffee and look for my next record (or 3)!
Friendly staff, great selection of vinyl and a variety of drinks food items available. Looking forward to stopping in to experience the live music next time.
Amazing coffee in the morning and great beer options at night. The whole place has a great vibe, I love browsing all the new and used vinyls! They also get some great acts at their open mic nights as well!
It’s a great place to hang out and chill. There are music performances weekly by smaller artists. The food is also pretty good as well. The record selection is also very nice. Overall a pretty good cafe.
Nice atmosphere, great people
Entertainment was great. DMTM.
Went to this record store excited because who’s ever heard of a Cafe vinyl Store?? Nice people and nice environment with cafe on one side and vinyl on the other with lots of records but sadly the only Hip Hop record I saw there was The Fresh Prince so sadly I was let down again with another store with little to none of A Rap/R&B selection so that is my reason for the one star
Very small selection of records. I didn’t see ANY ABBA ones especially.
