Excellent selection and friendly people went to get new strings, such a wide selection.
Neatly kept. Helpful but no price tags for browsing.
It is more of a place to have your instrument worked on. I love it because real musicians work there and there is all kinds of vintage parts guitars, and amplifiers I never know what they will bring out of the back.
Great place got great gear but barely any left handed stuff
Complete trash heap. All fake or poorly kept used instruments, staff has no information or skill with instruments. Employees are just random friends of owner, who is apparently the only one with a shred of knowledge, which is still very little. They also charge 100$+ over retail value for amps, guitars, etc. wouldnt waste your time.
Selection is sub-par and overpriced. You are always able to talk them down on the price however and the staff is serenely helpful and extremely knowledgeable. You can find a few brand name guitars and a large selection of drum kits. I think it deserves repeating the staff is fantastic!! (no I don’t work there) ha
This may be the place to get an instrument repaired, but certainly not the place to buy. It does not look like the photo inside. I would compare it to looking like a run down flea market inside. As other reviewers have said, it was very overpriced. I asked for ukulele strings and they didn’t even have any. Most items on the shelf were very outdated and dirty. The selection of music books was awful. I can’t even see why they are still open as a music store.
2. Back Beat Music
Address: 613 Southwest Dr, Jonesboro, AR 72401 , Poinsett County , Arkansas , United States
I can’t say enough good things about this place. The entire staff has always been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They’re always willing to help me with trade ins and if they don’t have something in stock, they will help me find it at a great price. I even have all my instruments serviced here and they always do a fantastic job.
Everything is so fabulous here!!!!
Great selections with help staff
I have been coming here for years as most of the reviewers. I have always had a decent experience. I’m just an amateur guitar player who doesn’t practice much and i don’t know much about music. I have to be fair and mention that, yes, the staff has at times, seemed curt and disinterested but I’ve never had an out-and-out bad experience here. It’s possible that they were simply just distracted or overwhelmed, it happens! I got lessons here from a swell guy several years ago. I wish i could remember his name. They seem to have a large variety of items like accessories-tuners, picks, strings, stands for your chords, chord books, guitar cases and guitars. They offer stringing services, although I’ve never used them. I think I’ve seen a few banjos and mandolins for sale over the years, although those may have been instruments taken on trade, i don’t know for a fact if they stock and sell those instruments. I also don’t know if they do trade-in as I’ve never had anything to trade. I have seen ukuleles there for sale. It is possible that they have expanded the lessons they offer into other instruments, such as wind instruments but I am not sure. That would depend entirely upon there being any such instructors available here in Jonesboro that don’t already have their own business giving lessons. That’s a lot of “maybes”. It would be good to call and just ask, if this is important to you. I do know that they used to give drum lessons, it’s possible they still do. If you are a musician or have a musician in your life, check this place out!
Great place to shop,
However one small issue I had there was when I was wanting to repair my Fender Guitar. The guitar was beat up a bit, had no strings, paint was damaged, and the knobs for the tuning were gone and the plate was cracked. My friend found it in an abandoned place and it was a decent guitar it was just badly damaged.
I went there to the receptionist and all I got was, “You are better off buying a new guitar” Etc. He was insistent on me just buying a new guitar. It was a very arrogant moment.
There are good thing’s about the place but from my only experience on this It was a huge waste of my time trying to repair, love the shop, the staff is pretty chill but I believe there can be changes.
I usually do not write reviews about businesses, but I had to about this store. The customer service is absolutely horrid. There staff is arrogant and condescending. If you have any questions about a product, do not be surprised if they are rude and treat you like you do not know what you are talking about. They do not have that bad of a selection for a store that size, but all there items are overpriced. If you are looking to buy a reasonably priced product, buy it online from somewhere like Amazon or Sweetwater, and save yourself from a bad experience.
If you are looking to do a trade in, be prepared for them to give you as little money as possible. You might as well sell it online or sell it to a pawn shop. You will earn more money that way. They will find the lowest price online of the item you are buying, and that is what they will offer you. It does not matter how bad the condition of the product online is, or what condition your item is in.
This is one of the only local music shops in Jonesboro besides Allstar Music. I will not be returning to Back Beat Music. If you are trying to decide whether or not shop there, I will save you time: DO NOT! It is almost worth driving to Memphis to buy a product. I know this review seems very one sided, but I can not think of a single good experience I have had there. I wish there was something good I could say, but there is simply not.
Yeah, I like the shop, but didn’t have the best experience. I brought my classical guitar in from out of town, and called first to specifically ask if they could restring with nylon wound. I brought another electric guitar in as well, since it needed new strings too. When I picked them up, they were both restrung, but my classical guitar was restrung with steel strings, not what I asked. They said they were out of nylon strings, but that these would work. It really changed the whole sound, and was not what I wanted. They didn’t show me the package, or indicate what type of strings for either guitar, but the invoice for both was almost $100! No set up, or anything, just a re-string. And I have no idea what they put on there. I guess it’s probably my fault that I have no time to put on my own strings, so let that be a lesson to me.
I was charged $60 for strings and when I got my guitar back I had to tune it.I also feel they were a bit rude.
3. Mr. Crisso’s Music Shop
Address: 1233 Flint St, Jonesboro, AR 72401 , Poinsett County , Arkansas , United States
We always receive good service and advice at Mr. Crisso’s. Don’t be fooled by its appearance; this is a great store and Chris is a very knowledgeable and talented musician. We have been impressed by his friendliness and helpfulness. He has much patience with our young musicians and all of our questions.
I came with an old guitar to get it re-strung. I ended up consistently coming back to this store 4 times in the same week for all my music needs. The guy there is as friendly as it gets. I felt genuinely taken care of and I felt my guitar was as well. I would definitely recommend for any music needs.
Have used Mr. Crisso’s music shop several times. He is very knowledgeable about a large variety of instruments. We are music newbies with lots of questions and he has always been very patient and helpful. His prices are reasonable and his service is excellent.
I’ve seen her live streams and am so amazed at her talent! She has incredible range and I had asked her to play a song that was pretty challenging vocally and she exceeded my expectations and she had never even played the song before. But she nailed it on her first time. She seems like such a bubbly person and I am excited to see where her music career will take her!
I have booked her for several events & she is the absolute best EVER!!!!
My family and I enjoy listening to Dalanie play and sing. She is very talented and has an amazing voice!
Currently live in Black Oak Arkansas. Right down the block from Jim. Had an excellent turn out for Rickie Lee’s celebration of life in town. We still rock in this town !!!
I’ve had the pleasure of listening to him online and in person. He’s as genuine a person as you’ll ever meet. His talent of singer, songwriter is a gift to him and all who listen to him. I’m very particular to music, and he is phenomenal. He’s a very special person and is a benevolent young man. If you ever get the opportunity to hear him sing, you’ll be happy you did.
I purchased a home concert during a campaign fundraiser and it was the best thing I have ever spent my money on !!! Matt Maverick is very professional and is extremely talented. My friends who attended had the best time ever. He went above and beyond anything I expected.
I had people that was not a big country fan but they were so pleased with his amazing voice they are ready for another concert. Matt was extremely entertaining and had the fans up and dancing, laughing and truly enjoying themselves!!! Highly recommend Matt Maverick for any event you may have planned. Thank you Matt for the best time of my life!!!

Kim has very unique items at her store. Some with such rich history and others that are begging to be in your living room. She carries a lot of decorative styles including MCM, modern farmhouse, and traditional. I can’t wait for our bookshelves to come in so that I can buy all the decor for it there. Very pleased with her variety.
She was so nice! Very helpful!!
Very friendly and she has some unique things here!
Great place good prices
I tried to go to the restaurant next door and she demanded me to move when I wasn’t parked by her store then when I didn’t move she started harassing me about it

I’ve been taking lessons from Patrick for years. He has been such an amazing influence on me and I feel as though he is not only my teacher, but my friend as well. He has increased my love of music and my knowledge of it so much that I feel I am truly able to appreciate it. I would easily recommend Patrick to anyone who was looking for music lessons at any skill level. There is no one more talented and as caring as him.
Amazing teacher with a long history in the game! Patrick is very patient with me and makes me feel very comfortable while trying to learn music! I also no longer have to leave my house to get quality lessons! With him, I have learned how to play several instruments, including piano and guitar!
Both of my children, ages 10 and 7, take FaceTime lessons from Patrick. I think the biggest testament to his amazing teaching is that they both run to the piano when it’s their turn, and they actually argue about who gets to practice first! I love how Patrick teaches theory in a fun way, so that they will become true musicians (not just able to plunk out a recital piece by rote, the way I “learned”!) It’s also so convenient for me to have the lessons on the iPad at home, or at the grandparents’- wherever there is a keyboard, even on vacation. Price is super reasonable, lessons are fun and engaging, my kids love piano!!

Nice friendly staff
Small, quiet, local run music store. Good prices and owned by a knowledgeable friendly man who is happy to answer your questions. I’ll definitely be returning.
I’ve purchased things from here before, but today, I felt as though my business was not wanted. I took a violin in due to having issues tuning it and the bridge popping off. Was told what I need to do. Told them thank you and asked my daughter if she wanted to look around. Was told to have a nice day. Was not asked if I needed help with anything else. Employee just walked away
Very rude to my wife and all she did was ask a queston please don’t do business with these people we don’t need rude people in this town.
They are selling stolen property.
