Steve and Beth are the best! A young couple working together, along with their 3 adorable kids, at making a business successful. I drove an hour away and I’m glad I did. Steve is a caring person and has great knowledge of his product. Beth worked through the paperwork with ease. If you are looking for a great experience to purchase an awesome mower come to Princeville and deal with the Potter’s!
Great service and support for Echo brand products!

Hasn’t ever let us down. Highly recommended for anyone with exhaust issues
This guy is awesome at his craft. He was able to replace my old muffler/exhaust was parts that he had in his shop and it only took one hour to do it and he charged me at a very fair price that saved me about three hundred to five hundred dollars. If I should have any other problems in the future I will be coming back.

6. Kidder Music
Address: 7728 N Crestline Dr, Peoria, IL 61615 , Princeville , Illinois , United States
We love Kidder. We bought our daughter’s flute from here recently and they were super helpful and patient with my 13 year old. It was a big decision for her. We also started weekly lessons and are very pleased with the facility. My daughter loves her teacher.
Very helpful
Always helpful with great selection on music for all local schools.
Great lessons. Decent store for beginners.
The store is pretty good. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to help you find what you are looking for, whether it’s sheet music, instruments, or accessories. They also offer lessons with some great teachers.
Friendly and knowledgeable
Have issues taking money off cards don’t say why just say sorry we can’t help
7. Flores Music
Address: 3831 N Sheridan Rd, Peoria, IL 61614 , Princeville , Illinois , United States
They replaced all of my guitar strings so I looked around the store in the meantime. All of the employees were so nice and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.
Great music shop. Highly recommend
Great place for guitars and more. Love this place. Both Pekin and Peoria store are great.
Nice music store.
It was awesome na Kevin Gray Is such a good drum teacher
Pros: I just moved here and was told by a guitar center employee that Flores music down the road has the best guy around to diagnose a problem I have with my very expensive guitar. Three shops had tried and failed at this point. I wish I could remember the technicians name; it started with a “j” I know, he takes one look at the guitar and checks a couple things. He then tells me that the problem is easily fixed. I tell him I’ve heard that before. But while I waited he fixed the buzzing problem and even corrected a couple other things that were bad. I’ve never had a guitar play this well ever! The con is when I was done thanking the savior of my taylor guitar a man from the store got mad at me for peeking my head in the shop to talk to the technician who I am trusting with my guitar. Sorry Flores music for bothering you with my business. Great repairs and lousy customer relations.
Do not visit if you have brown skin. Clearly has a preference for whites only…. cannot believe this place and the racist service exists in 2014!!! Had a horrible experience. They would rather not serve me or take my money….. beware black and brown people of Peoria!!!
Last year my son was supposed to be getting a pretty nice Fender Telecaster, which they said would be held on to for us until we saved up enough money for it. However, they ended up selling it to someone else. I will never step foot in this store again.
I have bought $1,000’s worth of stuff from this place. I always have felt like I had been treated fairly and given a good deal. I have even taken some of my stuff in to have it repaired and cleaned. I bought a fantastic pair of speakers no one has heard of and that have a goofy connection on the back. I went in and spoke with them about it and decided to try banana plugs. I was under the impression that if it didn’t work I could bring it back in and return it. So my wife stops in with the original receipt and in the original packaging (unopened) and they refuse to give our money back. In store credit is all I can get. It’s terrible business practice and I should have been told up front that they would not except the return, especially since I had been talking to them about what I was doing. I will from now on do my business elsewhere.
8. Princeville Jr/ Sr High School
Address: 302 Cordis St, Princeville, IL 61559 , Princeville , Illinois , United States
Well equipped, highly knowledgeable, and good prices, with a friendly staff and owner. Small town but not small time.
Really nice music store and much bigger than I expected. I have family in the music retail business and can recognize a well-run store with a positive atmosphere and happy employees, which translates to happy customers like myself. As a musician, I loved the selection in there. Lots of great stuff – they’re a Fender and PRS dealer among others – and a wide variety of used gear, which is always my favorite part of a music store.
5 stars
Good amps but they didn’t get down a guitar i wanted to play
Super nice store and very helpful always
Been going literly for 20 years. Decent service. Nice ppl. Definetly has everything a musician would need.
These guys are crooks. Everything they sell is overpriced, and their services are terrible. I went in to install a new bridge pickup for my electric guitar, and they quoted an unreasonable price for the job. Since I was already there I figured whatever, go ahead. They estimated the job would take about 24 hours to complete. Little did I know “24 hours” meant a month and a half to them. I’m not even kidding. Every time I went in to the store to check, they yelled at me and said “there’s a guy who comes in to do the work, but he’s been just swamped lately. He’ll get it done when he gets a chance”. So 1.5 months later I receive a call, and it’s finally done. I go to pick up my guitar, and plug it in to one of their amps to check out how it sounds. It sounded like something was damaged in the guitar. I told them that there was something seriously wrong here, but they said it’s probably their amp and I should go home and check it out. I went home, plugged it in and it was messed up. It literally sounded like metal springs grinding against each other. The strangest noise I’ve ever heard from a guitar.
When I took the guitar back to them, they were incredibly rude and told me it was not their problem and the pickup was broken. So I was out $130, and left with a broken guitar. I ended up having to spend another $200 to get the whole thing back to playing condition.
I learned my lesson, and have warned all my friends against this store.
Got a “better than” feeling in there. Short, unhelpful answers for my 14 year old grandson.
Last five years I have purchased several guitars several by I’m talking around 10 I walked in to this music store a lady did not even ask me how they can help me all she said was what are you looking for looked around for awhile noticed that the pricing was a little bit outrageous. But the main thing was the woman that put the sour taste in my mouth by acting like it was a bother for us to even walk in the store. Oh well their loss my game I’ll continue purchasing equipment from American music supply Sweetwater. Won’t go back

11. Rock Solid Studio
Address: 309 N 2nd St, Dunlap, IL 61525 , Princeville , Illinois , United States
I can’t say enough about this studio. The space is the most inviting and inspiring studio I’ve worked in by far. The guys are wonderful people and Jimmy is a rare talent in production. The quality of work is exceptional. Rock Solid studio is really a cut above.
Great business to work with.
What an amazing experience- helped me with exactly what I wanted!
We had a very good experience here! Nice studio with professionals. I would definitely return!
12. Younger Than Yesterday
Address: 2615 N University St, Peoria, IL 61604 , Princeville , Illinois , United States
Awesome place. Amazing selection. Owner was cool and offered to play anything we wanted while there while browsing the huge selection they had.
My favorite music store! Craig is a fantastic well of knowledge. Always has amazing finds and if you catch him at the right time, you can listen to a wealth of information and history.
Great selection of used music. Way WAY overpriced. Purchase cheaper off the net.
When in for a few thing,z talked to a few people , great place to go ton,z of music
If you want to be surrounded with enough vinal to side your house this is the place. They got it all, seriously they got it all. If you love music, you’ll love this place.
. Totally made us feel unwelcome. He has TONS of stuff. We made a purchase but will never go back to the overpriced elitist
Eh
Never will return. Had records out on the floor that evidently weren’t for sale yet??? had no interest in helping me and then when he did was a total jerk. Unbelievable.

Great place for classic rock vinyl albums. Plus all types of antique toys, furniture, home decor and so very much more. You can spend hours in there and not see it all. Fantastic place to shop. Customer service is great
Record booth located inside antique mall. Wide variety of music genre on vinyl. Cassettes and cds are available. A new arrival section of vinyl. A nice place to search for records and physical music media.
Fun antique store with variety of items. Cute little cafe.
Good place to get some old stuff
So much to look at.
16. The Music Shoppe Inc.
Address: 2940 Constitution Dr, Springfield, IL 62704 , Princeville , Illinois , United States
The people here are super friendly and very knowledgeable. If you are buying any instrument this is the place.
Doug and his staff at the music shoppe in Springfield make it so nice to come in and shop. Mallory can talk drums with the best of them. Doug has been a long time friend and have made many sales in his shop for years. The new store is so nice and very well laid out. I love that they carry Ludwig drums along carrying other varied brands such as Yamaha drums. The only local music shop in Springfield I do business with. Thanks Doug for my recent purchase of my Ludwig Classic Maple kit.
Great prices and customer service
Staff is helpful and they have lots of instruments to view. One bad thing is that they always seem to make you feel like they are waiting for you to steal something. I realize there is lots of theft that happens but you don’t need to follow me around while I browse.
Selections ok but lacks depth if you follow… staff is okay but not engaging at all.
Every single time I come here it’s nothing but problems. Being misled by an employee on a price of an instrument. After calling the day before getting one price, to going there getting another price, and then her calling back and giving me yet another price. To finally I had to just sign up for something because I was told they didn’t have any available. Was told today they have books and now they don’t have any available.. They basically couldn’t tell me when or where they could get another. I highly suggest going to another store.
*update*- the owner took care of all of my issues and is addressing the problem. Nice to see people still care!
This place will go the way of the rock shop if they keep treating customers like suspects.
It was not like this at the Stevenson location.
