I have purchased an upright piano from Heavenly Pianos for Bach to Rock Music School in Arlington Heights and also had Mark come out and tune our pianos at both Northbrook and Arlington Heights locations. I cannot say enough great things about Mark and Heavenly Pianos. Fantastic care and patience when purchasing the instrument as well as an incredibly efficient and accurate job tuning. I HIGHLY recommend this store and Mark for any piano purchasing/tuning or repair needs.
I had been earnestly looking to purchase a new Grand Piano for about 6 weeks when we made our visit to Heavenly.
Bob was very gracious with his time and introduced us to various lovely instruments. I ultimately gravitated towards a restored 6’2′ Steinway Grand, and when I voiced concerns on the voicing in the upper keys, Bob immediately agreed with me and suggested his technicians would address it if I was interested in playing the piano again afterwards. I came back 1 week later and they had done an excellent job. Bob’s no-nonsense, direct approach helped us reach an agreeable price quickly and within another week, I had my dream piano delivered + assembled in my house. Thanks Bob and Heavenly team!
Very easy to fix a problem I was having with my guitar. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Great products, but they’re always short on staff! I bought some Zildjan drummers gloves to replace the drummers gloves that were wearing out.
Mike the drummer was so helpful!
The store seems to always be in disarray. Every time I go there, the place is a mess, and I can’t tell if I’m looking at new or used items. The prices are usually reasonable on most things.
Went to get a drumset no staff present someone said was going to help me but nothing…..had to leave the store def not going back
Disappointing… Overpriced, poor return policy, high restocking fees. Better find another store. Look up the same stuff they sell on Amazon – always find a better price. Comparing with Amazon’s and other stores’ return policy, Sam Ash – outsider.
I called ahead of time for a product. The associate assured me they had it and reserved one. When I got there, they apparently “sold the kit reserved for me” and I had to spend more money than I had budgeted. there was no discount offered or anything. I am thinking they said that just so they could get me to spend more money.

My daughter loves this place, very professional service!!!
From Mozart to Rolling Stones….
It is rare to find music teachers with strong classical music education. Zhivko is an amazing teacher with a lot of patience, great customer care and amazing attitude towards students of all ages. A lot of teachers do not have the proper education and I am glad to find a teacher with Masters degree in performing arts and music.
Follow your passion and sign up. They offer lessons with various type of instruments – guitar, drums, ukulele…
Great teachers! My son enjoys his guitar lessons and I am so grateful for Zhivko’s dedication and patience. Thank you

They’re always looking forward to attending their lessons. I will definitely recommend friends and family members to Breaking Grounds in Music. Chris has also been extremely helpful from the beginning since we were new to everything. Thank you, Chris, Lucas and Inna!
I would definitely recommend Breaking Grounds in Music. Chris is a wonderful drum instructor. He is very patient and breaks things down to meet my son at his level. His passion for music is inspiring!

Great place for instruments and other music related equipment!!
Great attitude and service!
No encontre lo que buscaba
Nice helpful staff. But I was trying to talk to the one guitar teacher but he was not available so I left after 15 minutes of waiting. I’ll go back.
Great to get your hands on a musical instrument and feel it before buying. That said nothing like the old days when they had everything you needed and more! Miss them days . Dam you internet shopping.
I stopped by for a quick Fender bass check and had just a few minutes. This dude handled me the guitar and asked for my ID?? Are you serious?
Will never go to this store again! I left my ID in my car. I guess I could go and get it for whatever reason he wanted it. I should asked him for his high school Id because he definitely was acting like a kid.
I went to many Guitar Center locations but this is the first one for me to ID me???
Thanks but no.
And no more Arlington Heights Guitar Center period!
I came here twice and spent almost an hour both times trying out acoustic guitars. Not once did an employee offer assistance. One employee came in, offered assistance to someone else, TWICE, and completely ignored me. Maybe it had something to do with my skin color, I don’t know. I’m happy to report i recieved my $1,000 dollar cordoba c10 (a guitar they didn’t even have in stock) from american music supply and it plays lovely.
I contacted Guitar Center in Arlington Heights, IL to arrange a weekend equpment rental for September 4 through September 7, 2020.
The equipment I rented included 2 speakers, 2 speaker stands, and multiple lights.
The lights worked fine- no complaints there. However, one of the speakers was busted, and did not function in an optimal manner. This turned out to be a significant hindrance to my event, as I had to amplify a very large backyard space.
Furthermore, one of the speaker stands did not have an interlocking pin, which allows the speaker to be elevated and stay in place. This was also very disappointing.
For paying over $500 to rent equipment, I frankly expected better service. The associates of mine that picked up and utilized the equipment for the event also remarked to me that the employees at the store took almost 45 minutes to gather the equipment.
This occurred despite me having arranged the equipment rental two days before, and being told that it would be ready.
I suppose that I should just be grateful that they even had the equipment like they assured me they did, as they wouldn’t send me a written confirmation via email.
The “icing on the cake” of my experience with this branch of Guitar Center is that they were only willing to issue a $50 refund when we returned the equipment. One would think that they would be willing to concede more than $50 of a refund for a $500 rental, especially considering that one of the speakers didn’t work properly.
All and all, the employees conducted themselves like amateurs, and not like event professionals.
The usual sound company that I rent from in Chicago is presently not providing service due to effects from the COVID-19 Pandemic. I thought that Guitar Center would be able to “save the day”.
Because they provided the service that i requested, I will give them 2 stars; however, some of the equipment malfunctioned, and their conduct was unprofessional.
The real deal for portable field sound systems. They’ve put it all together for you. Very professional tailor made for the purpose packages.
This was my first time using this company. We ordered a parade banner and frame. The customer service was really good right away. They misspelled something but fixed it before production. My main issue that I had was that they sent me the cost and I submitted it to our school PTO for approval. I told them the date it would be approved (it was within a few weeks) and then I would pay and we could start production.
I then received an email saying that if I didn’t pay in the next week, they would be changing the price and adding $100. They said they could do that because my estimate expired right before the date I was to have it approved. After I complained that that seemed very wrong to me, they backtracked and said even though they could do that legally, they could extend my estimate. So why couldn’t they just contact me and extend it to the date I gave them in the first place?
It all seemed shady. Had I not complained, I would have been charged $100 more for my product. I am glad I said something. Not a great overall first experience. It’s too bad because the product turned out great!
Very Disappointed. I had heard great things about this company. I was hired very late for a Marching Band Director position and was told McCormick’s would be able to help me get things quickly and reliably. They had a 1.5 week production pushback and I had to reach out to even be told this information. I understand this is a business, but no courtesy call or automated notification? Maybe things have changed.

my son took guitar lessons there a few years ago, great school, professional teachers. I highly recommend taking music lessons here!
El Rey has been more than just music lessons for my son, it has been a nurturing music community. Participating in shows and helping him form a band has expanded his music experience. My son loves El Rey Music!
El Rey is great. They have awesome teachers who promote an environment of collaboration and creativity with the instruments. I took lessons there for several years and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had. I recommend it for anyone.

For the past four years, my son has been taking piano lessons at this outstanding music school. Andy, his teacher, has been an incredible mentor. His patience, guidance, and encouragement have been instrumental in shaping my son’s musical journey. I am profoundly grateful for Andy’s dedication and the positive impact he has had on my son’s growth.
One of the most cherished highlights of our experience here is the semiannual recitals held at the local Arlington Heights Library. The recitals take place in a beautiful grand room that provides a perfect stage for the students to showcase their hard work and progress. It is truly awe-inspiring to witness the talent and progress exhibited by these young musicians. These recitals not only boost their confidence but also create lasting memories for all involved.
Been taking drum lessons with Matt for a few years now, cannot recommend highly enough. Great staff, great space.
Amazing teacher for kids and adults. Highly recommend

Great teacher to learn piano with! My daughter has been taking lessons with Mr. Gregor for about two years now and she loves it! He is very patient and creates a calm and supportive environment for kids to learn. We are happy with the progress she has made. The recitals at the library are a great bonus for kids to show their skills to friends and family and to build their confidence. Mr. Gregor was recommended to us by another family, and now I would also highly recommend him. Five starts with no reservations.
Great piano lessons, highly recommend!
My daughter took her piano lessons
with Mr. Gregor for eight years, she can play beautifully. My son started to play when he was five years old and he is still continuing. Wonderful skill to have.
Gregor Cembala is a fantastic teacher. He is forever encouraging and provides superior instruction. He understands his students and what motivates us to want to play piano and keyboard instruments. He challenges us and brings joy and appreciation in playing music. I would recommend Gregor for all ages and all levels. Gregor Cembala and his Family are wonderful! Beatrice D. O’Donnell, returning student.
