Lisa is a brilliant musician and teacher! The only thing that matches her musical skill and prowess, is her passion for teaching and developing students.
My son has been with Lisa 18 months. He had never played an instrument or learned reading music. Eli can read music like you say ABC. How in the world Lisa has taught a leftie to play I will never know! Did I mention she accomplished most of this virtually? We absolutely love being a part of Psalm Streams. I promise Lisa will find your child’s way of learning and off to the races they will go!

I went to this place to have them perform my marriage ceremony. While I was there I looked around and seen many great guitars. The people there were great as well.
They fixed my favorite guitar…thanks much!!! Pic of another…
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff!
It’s a standard small music store. There aren’t a lot of new high end instruments here, but they are all very nice folks.
Large selection!! Beautiful instruments!!
Nice place. Good selection conveniently located.
I read reviews for this shop and thought it was an honest place to sell my gear. I walked in with an Epiphone AJ 220, with an Epiphone molded hardshell case I bought seperately, and an Epiphone “Snake Pit” 15w practice amp. ALL in like new condition. She plugged the guitar in and it was only the fourth time it had ever been plugged in. I never put the guitar in the case without wiping it down first. Look everything I listed up for yourself, and you’ll see what I lost. I messed up and let the lady know that I was in dire need of money for my family. The old guy asked where I bought it, and when I told him, he said he’d lost alot of business to “places like that”. No. I looked around the shop, and all he had was used gear that had been repaired and put up for sale. Junk. My guitar was the nicest instrument there! The reason he’s losing business is because he’s trying to sell junk and beating people in need out of what their instruments are worth. The lady acted like she was on Pawn Stars! If I hadn’t had needed the money really bad, I would have told her where she could stick her $200! That’s all they gave me for everything I brought in. Look up the items I listed, and you’ll see I did my part to support this business! The reviews I read must have been friends of theirs, because they definately misled me. Not fair at all.
Walked in today to look around and from the moment I walked in the door, the older gentleman (I guess the owner?) had his eye on me and was watching me like a hawk, made me feel unwelcome to be there. He asked if I was looking for anything in particular and when I told him very politely he didn’t have what I was looking for he arrogantly told me “I opened this store in 1973 and everything you see in the store is priced the same as you’d get it online” like ok bud I wasn’t complaining about the price you just don’t have what I was looking for. When I told him I wasn’t looking to buy today, and was just looking around he made a sarcastic comment about “well if you’re not buying, we can just put this back on the shelf” ??? I continued to walk around and look at some more product and he continued to watch me like a hawk until I got in my car and pulled out of the parking spot. All of my musician friends have recommended I don’t frequent this store, and I can honestly say, after that experience, I will not and will tell anyone that asks not to either. Lousy excuse for customer service.
4. Gadsden Music Company
Address: 607 Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35901 , Ragland , Alabama , United States
The store is stocked well with a large variety of instruments and equipment, the staff are knowledgeable and resourceful, and for the most part, prices are very reasonable. If you’re a drummer, by God, this is the store for you more than anyone else. Sticks as far as the eye can see, cymbals, full kits, aux percussion, you name it. There are a lot of low to high-mid-range guitars in terms of prices and quality. It’s not Guitar Center, but It’ll do.
I’ve had good experiences with repairs on my saxophone and setups on my guitar and mandolin. For those who are picky about setup, they do a good job.
There’s a small inventory of guitar pedals from what I could see, but there are a lot of guitar accessories available. Fair supply of keyboards, basses, etc. Instrument rentals are available for wind instruments. I believe that they rent out orchestral string instruments, too.
Lessons for quite a few instruments are available through the store as well, if you’re interested in those. I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with the instructors in the past, although I haven’t taken lessons from them. They’re very kind and professional people.
VERY helpful
Very friendly and kind staff. Good selection of instruments.
Nice store. Super staff.
Friendly helpful
The staff was completely rude
If you are looking for music instruments, and accessories, i promise you, you will pay FULL retail price. No discounts there. It dosen’t matter that accessories have a 70% mark up. The best thing to do is buy it online.
Rip off & don’t know measurements for nuts/ saddle’s probably anything just a store that takes suckers for a ride
5. Art’s Music Shop, Inc
Address: 4647 US-280, Birmingham, AL 35242 , Ragland , Alabama , United States
Great store with friendly and knowledgeable staff. I always find out something new when I visit. It’s also nice that the employees are gigging musicians in the area. Would recommend.
Very knowledgeable and helpful. They had strings for a 1/8 violin we had been looking all over town for. Definitely the place to go in town if u need items for string instruments other than guitars.
Had what I needed. Great service.
Very helpful but the instruments are pretty expensive
Very helpful and friendly
It’s nice that stores like Art’s are still around.
Took in my guitar to get set up and to get the fret buzz handled. They told me it would take them three days. I took it to them on a Monday and I called them Thursday. They hadn’t even gotten started on it. (They said it was school season but if you tell me three days then stick by what you say) I told them I needed it by Friday morning and they told me they’d have it ready. I go that Friday morning and it was “set up” apparently. They didn’t even do my intonation and I’m pretty sure they didn’t use the string gauge I requested. To make things worse the fret buzz was horrendous. Like my guitar was unplayable, even more than before. Horrible service to say the least. I absolutely do not recommend getting your guitars set up here. Downright disgusting.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT rent instruments from here. All they want is your $$$. I can’t begin to tell you what a nightmare it had been renting our child’s instrument from them this year for school. I wish I could give negative stars. The breaking point was last week when we returned the instrument but was charged another $90 for the month of June. ITS NOT JUNE yet!!!!!!
Schools have no business partnering with companies like this!
No help prices to high
6. B&C Music
Address: 314C Billy B Dyar Blvd, Boaz, AL 35957 , Ragland , Alabama , United States
Been doing business here for 16 plus years awesome people very knowledgeable and easy to use they don’t ever pressure you in any direction great people and business
The place to shop for musical instruments on Sand Mountain.
Very nice people work here. Their prices are competitive and I will buy here again
Over priced. Only good if you need to grab a pack of strings or something small last minute.
Excellent locally owned and operated business!
Friendly local place and with high prices but a good selection and knowledgeable.
this place is burnt!
Awful place with cheap brands and overpriced / broken used instruments.
The people are not friendly, the merchandise is overpriced, some equipment is not even new (and it is damaged) although they don’t disclose that information, and getting around in a wheelchair is next to impossible. The lady at the register didn’t know anything about the equipment. It is definitely worth the drive to go somewhere else.
7. Martin’s Music
Address: 5000 US-280 Suite C, Alexander City, AL 35010 , Ragland , Alabama , United States
Super friendly and helpful and accommodating. I needed ukelele strings and he had them and helped me learn how to put them on! Very patient. Nice store. A bit hard to locate from the street.
The best in repairs!!
Great on pricing!
The owner is very friendly and willing to help you out. Can order things if he doesn’t have it in his store. Good place to go for musical supplys.
