Great for a small Love’s, fuel islands are set up nice and actual parking for bobtail tractors
Very nice
Has seems good and about the same price as everywhere else. Nice travel store.
So clean! No beer or wine, though.
Went into Arby’s.
Nice place but gas prices were high!!!!
Some drivers says: Not enough parking space for trucks…. They need to sell diesel to drivers as much as they can and other stuff … who cares about parking ? Buy your stuff and go ! ☝️
Big sign in front . Propane available 24/7 . That is a lie . Stopped today at 4:12 to fill 3 rv tanks before leaving town . Told there wouldn’t be anyone available to fill them until tomorrow. Really need to take that sign down . False advertising.
I love their hotdogs and come here three or four times a day, and they never have chopped onions for the hotdogs. I end up just leaving without buying anything. They need to train people to keep the condiment bar full.
3. Redbox
Address: Dollar General Outdoor, 1815 E Main St, Olney, IL 62450 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
Good manager ….bought hellmanns mayonaise from newer DG got home was past exp.date so took back to the older DG store .Was handled friendly and quick
I really like the new one
Nice place. Very friendly
Just about like any other D.G.
Easy to find what your looking for and friendly staff
On the edge of town this is a good place to stop and get something you need for cheap, either on your way in or on your way out of town. Sometimes you have to wait for help but a friendly staff makes up for the delay in service. There is a big parking lot that is usually mostly empty and a wide variety of items inside the store.
Cashier was almost to back of store had to holler at her to get her wait on us..but did get checked out fast.
Why do you have a sign on your door mask required but I was there as a vendor an at more than 25 people came into that store no mask. I was the only one an I was outside the store. Take down the sign your a joke. I will not shop @ any DG because of this an hate hate coming there as a vendor.
Good luck on any help.
5. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 1001 N West St, Olney, IL 62450 , Richland County , Illinois , United States

Good place, always find what were looking for. Very helpful workers.
Normal
A one-stop shopping experience. One main issue is one cannot be sure a particular item will be stocked ever again
like I said it’s walmart
Awful. Only 2 lanes open. Been this way the last 3x ive been here. Really!!!!
Couldn’t get anything from the deli do to not enough help again 1 person working the front 2 in back cleaning with several people waiting. Got fed up and left. It’s almost always that way.
6. McDonald’s
Address: 701 E Main St, Olney, IL 62450 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
The young lady that took my order was great. However, when I got home to eat ,both my sandwiches were wrong. So….just going to leave this here.
Service could have been faster, but over all it was clean and friendly. I will return .

7. Redbox
Address: 1001 N West St, Olney, IL 62450 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
This is a great, locally owned music store. Wide selection of instruments, and knowledgeable staff.
I love Byassee Keyboard and Sound. My first clarinet came from them many years ago and they’ve been excellent! Keep up the great work!
Best store in town!!!
Really nice people, just very overpriced
Very friendly and helpful. Nice to still have a brick and mortar music store in the area.
Had everything we needed.
They sold me a violin for 2,000 and when I had it appraised the specialist said they cost $100 for a set of three. I will never do business with them again and I urge anyone to go elsewhere
10. Mojo’s Music
Address: 144 N Main St, Edwardsville, IL 62025 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
The crew at Mojo’s are some of the best in the biz. Competitive prices, excellent customer service, and great selection are what you’ll find. I get treated like family everytime I go in. They make it too easy to spend money (in a good way).
Nice Guys
The team at Mojo’s Music is second to none! Their exceptional customer service, knowledge, and selection will forever keep me coming back. Even if I am a few hours away.
Fun shop for sure! Eye candy hanging on all the surrounding walls. The shop’s main focus is guitars so it’s definitely the place to go if that’s your go to instrument. Workers are knowledgeable and always very helpful. It’s no breaking news that guitar shops tend to give off awkward, intimidating vibes (understandably so when you visit any shop with high pricetagged merch) and I do have to try and hide my feelings of squirminess while there, but I enjoy going and will continue to.
Lots of inventory and they are willing to deal
I went in to get my guitar repaired, the staff members sat at the counter and talked and ignored me for several minutes. Then after they finally looked at my guitar it turned out to be a very expensive repair so I decided to just buy a new guitar. One would think this would be cue to start selling a guitar, instead they ignored me some more and made me feel awkward for playing any guitar they had. So I went to swing city music right down the road and they instantly came to help and found a guitar that was right for me.
After years of taking time off from playing music, band break up really made me step away, I’ve decided to look around for a new guitar and rig, have gone to Mojo’s, have purchase three terrific instruments from them in the past 15 years, never had a bad experience, today, however, was not the same. I walked into a store deflated of its prior pulse, I was seen and ignored, walked around looking for what would be my next stage guitar. Two employees, yet no time to greet, or attempt to make a sale, to show products, I even made an attempt by asking what’s new, even then not a singular spark of interest in my affairs with them was of significance. I walked out of there for the last time, sad to see such a place become so cold and uninviting.
11. Mike’s Music
Address: 816 E Main St A, Carbondale, IL 62901 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
In my opinion the best music store in the tri-state area. There is no reason to go anywhere else.
Always great stopping in the music shop, great place to buy and trade at for your music needs
Not only did he give me an amazing deal on an acoustic, but will be attaching a know the makers left off, to hold my strap, For Free.
Great guys and fair prices. They also offer repair and maintenance of instruments which is nice. Pay with cash and they will eat the tax!
Nice little pocket shop to pick up some accessories and or a guitar you had no idea was there lol. Drum sticks are decently priced too although limited to two brands. I absolutely love the mascots too!
Some vintage gear and some brands I’ve never seen before. Mike was very friendly. If you’re visiting Carbondale and need a quick fix, swing on by. Easy to find on main drag.
12. Halpin Music Company
Address: 88 Northport Dr, Alton, IL 62002 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
Small guitar section but affordable and nice place and location
Wonderful customer service and friendly staff.
Excellent place! Friendly staff! Quick repair and rental!
Buy local when you can! Give these guys a chance, they have great service 🙂
Nice place, friendly workers
A friendly place.
My son’s saxophone has been there a number of times. The last time he got it back the band director said that it wasn’t fixed. It went back and still hasn’t been fixed for 3 weeks! I have traveled down there in the past and had several words with them. This is the last time it goes back!
It seems as though the technicians that repair instruments can’t repair the instruments correctly without having to send them out for repairs. The customer has to tell and show what exactly is broken or needs repairs. Th oo bad they are the only musical instrument repair shop in Alton
3 weeks, to have simple repair done. Repair tech in Centralia is discriminatory against people with disabilities, and is a hateful man. He refused to work on my horn after it had been in the Centralia shop for two and a half weeks. They never called me about anything, I had to call them every time to find out any information about my horn. Left several messages that was never returned. Ended up having to have my horn worked on in the Alton shop, I had to to drive TWO and a HALF HOUR OVER 200 MI and pay full price for a repair with no discount even after the tech in Centralia was belligerent and derelict in his responsibilities to fix my sax after it was there for over 2 NEVER AGAIN
13. Swing City Music Co
Address: 1811 Vandalia St, Collinsville, IL 62234 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
This place is very helpful for all of your music needs.
I’ve not only been a teacher at Swing City but also, the customer service is AMAZING! They go the extra mile for sound, tech, instruments and sales. Love my musical tribe!
These guys form RELATIONSHIPS with their customers. They know my name, they remember what I like, they help educate me, AND their prices are GREAT. I prefer SWING CITY over any national chain music store because at the other guys, I’m just a number and a sale.
It’s a really good place. Sorry, we were the ones that crashed intk the building
A good old school music store.
I frequently purchased merchandise over my years, normally I do business up north. I decided to buy a guitar for a gift about several months later I noticed that the bridge on the guitar was coming apart so I took the guitar back for exchange but was refused to exchange because of warranty. I didn’t expect a new guitar to come apart especially at the bridge we have several at home and never had an issue besides basic maintenance. I don’t feel as if I need to bring rulers, micrometers, calculators to purchase a instrument. Please spend your hard earned money at some other music shop if you want quality and respect.
I am in a spot where I need a bass today. I came in 10/8/22 ready to buy. After 10 minutes, a sales associate said hi from across the room. After another 12 minutes, every staff was chatting with the one other customer in the store, ignoring us. No wonder the place is empty every time I drive by. I hate going to guitar center, but places like this leave you little choice when you’re ignored and not helped at all. I couldn’t reach the bass I was going to purchase, so I’m just done waiting for the chatting giggly employees hanging in their “clicky” circle.
The entrance was beautiful the photos of all the different artist and musicians was wonderful and gave me an idea of what I could be some day. I was greeted appropriately, and they answered all my questions, but that was just what they did. They didn’t ask any further questions or give me a reason to be there and learn about the infinite possibilities of music from them and their instructors. It seemed like their knowledge of music and instruments had become just a job.
14. Miller Music Inc
Address: 4510 N Illinois St #3, Swansea, IL 62226 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
My son had a problem with his saxophone. Place where we purchased was unavailable. I talked with Steve on the phone and he told me most if not all repairs are done in house and they could have it fixed in a few days. We made a mad dash there and spoke with them about the problem. They were very knowledgeable and found the problem in a few minutes. This was black Friday and they had it fixed the next. They gave my son some great advice and tips. It was very reasonable and the were very pleasent. Steve and I talked about some personal experiences having to do with music. I walked away a little more knowledgeable and a better understanding of how a Saxophone opperates.
Very professional, and good people.
Highly recommend
This is one of the greatest places to get your instruments fixed, and the owner is a very nice and sweet man. Fixed my flute in 2 minutes, wished I had seen him this morning before my churchcheistmas recital
They appear to no longer be in business.
Simply call to find out the brand of acoustic guitars they sold when I mentioned name brands the lady was set off very rude on the phone and hung up on me her name was Sharon
Do not put an item on consignment with this business. You will never hear from them again. Disgraceful business tactics + no communication regarding the issue. I will do everything possible to discredit this business.
I took my niece to Miller Music to see about having an issue fixed with her flute. The guy working looked at it for a few seconds and said he didn’t notice any issues (leaks) visible to the eye. I then asked if it would be okay for her to play the instrument for him so that he could listen, and hopefully make a diagnosis that way. He responded with, “Yeah, hurry up.” Needless to say, the instrument is still having an issue. When we purchased the couple of instruments we have, he was polite. Now that there’s an issue, “Mr. Nice Guy” left the building. I’d never recommend anyone to buy anything else from them again.
15. Fireside
Address: 215 S Whittle Ave, Olney, IL 62450 , Richland County , Illinois , United States
Always friendly and helpful in finding what you need.
The people put 100% effort into getting you what you need. Even if that means they miss a sale. Because of that ive done all my business with them.
Very helpful staff
The girls who waited on me couldn’t have been more cordial and helpful. I wish they had a broader assortment of the classic oldies sheet music I was looking for. But there is always the internet. Perhaps my age has caught up with me. LOL.
18. The Practice Pad

19. Don’s Music Land

Kidder Music provides wonderful customer service and quick responses. I highly recommend their business!
The store is pretty good. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. They take the time to help you find what you are looking for, whether it’s sheet music, instruments, or accessories. They also offer lessons with some great teachers.
Friendly and helpful staff!
