The sales rep I spoke to gave me a lot of good information and was very knowledgeable about music. He helped me find what I was looking for. overall it was very positive experience.
I bought a limited edition Gibson sg,and these guys really bent over backwards to give me the best possible deal on my trade in..I’ll never go back to rip off guitar center,I’d rather give my business to the smaller ma&pa shop because the people there are very knowledgeable and top notch..
One of my personal favorites as far as purchasing items for music. With an exceptionally well informed employees that can help with just about anything. They are located right off of the Merritt which is extremely convenient for easy access in and out.
Great help available
Smaller than I expected as I was only used to their website so I guess I was thinking this place must be huge, but it’s about the size of a GC. However the people were nice and helpful and the gear was great.
The only thing I can actually complain about doesn’t even involve the staff or product. It’s hearing stairway to heaven…the breakdown…leading to no solo…if i have to sit listen then lets hear the solo! Anyways yeah…there’s other songs too. Very patient staff. Kind helpful and a sense of gratitude for the shared passion. Next to an an liquor store, need I day more? Hah nah there’s good burgers adjacent. Wow what a review right? Should be able to review reviews… gg
Edit: This review was written over ten years ago but a small edit and it has now posted as recent. Not sure why but that’s not why I’m writing this edit here. This review being posted prompted a manager from Sam Ash to contact my father (who has the same name as me) to try and address whatever issue prompted the negative review. My father called me to let me know and told me the manager would like me to call him. Well… I’ve called around 6 times now and can’t get through, it simply hangs up on me after pressing #2 for a manager. I decided to give the 1-800# a call to see if they could connect me to the New Haven store manager because it kept hanging up on me. Guess what? Twice I called the 1-800#, twice they hung up. At this point it’s comical. I don’t even really remember what my issue was when I wrote this review but things must not be any better down there at Sam Ash since I can’t even contact anyone. Keep up the great work guys.
Original Review:
“You want a real review then look no further. When you walk into Sam Ash it is like walking into a garage sale. Used products trying to be pawned off with brand new retail prices. Almost everything I purchased from Sam Ash had to be returned or replaced. Customer Service hah! Forget about it. Some preemie-punk band wannabees who know only what their 1978 computer programmed screen tells them on how low they can go without making a commision. If you are a novice they will clean your wallet without even blinking! Do not buy into their trade-in program HUGE let down. They will not take anything!! You are better off going to the local pawn shop with your gear. I brought in a workstation worth triple what I was trying to trade for and they looked as confused as George Bush at a press conference and still would not trade. Do not waste your time with this Flea Market! Do yourself a favor and make the extra trip to Guitar Center or if you need orchestra instruments see your local music shop you will be 100% better off. I am a 25+years musician and HAVE NOT and DO NOT work at any music store so what you read is the truth do with it what you want.”
Merchandise walks out the door with disgruntled employees and no one seems to care. I had recently checked the website to see if they had what i was looking for and it said limited stock. Fair enough so i call the store and yes they confirm there is one left. After sitting in traffic for almost an hour and a half because the closest sam ash is quite the drive for me, i finally get there and it is nowhere to be found. They made a feeble attempt at offering to order it and take something like 9 dollars off which basically amounted to not paying the sales tax but i would now have to wait several more days and make the long trip out there again plus i would have to pay for it now for them to order it. Needless to say I declined and left disappointed. But the next week out of curiosity i checked the website and sure enough it says they have it so i call and and the guy says no we had one but our old manager took it but i can order it for you. Again i would have to pay in advance and it would take a week to ten days. So several weeks later yes it’s still listed on the website but is not in stock and no one seems interested in restocking or updating the website. Needless to say i go to guitar center which is about 5 minutes away from me. They’ve been friendly and helpful when i order things it takes maybe 3 to 5 days depending on the items and they actually restock their inventory. I gave sam ash 3 tries and they blew it every time. Go to guitar center in Orange CT not sam ash in new haven.
My experience with Sam ash music was very bad there service down right sucks there staff is not business oriented what so ever they have no clue in what there looking at I would strongly recommend guitar center because they are the real deal located off RT 1 orange CT thank you
2. Windsor Music Centre
Address: 95 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, CT 06095 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
We had them repair/resurrect an old flute for us. Great work at a great price. I recommend the business to all.
Low cost repairs. fast, convenient respectful
Got the book I was looking for and awesome customer service!
Nice guy and great service so far!
It’s okay.
My grandma brought two ukuleles here to be repaired before she passed away. They were from the 1940s and held a lot of sentimental value for me, as they were the first instrument I ever learned to play on. After she passed away, a family member went to retrieve them and the store conveniently had “no record” of them. Scammers and low lifes.
Not bad.
terrible repairment
3. The Music Shop
Address: 22 Mc Dermott Ave, Torrington, CT 06790 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Our 13 year old son has been taking private saxophone lessons at ” The Music Shop” for over 4 years, starting with Leo Liddle. Keith Wilson, a very talented musician took over as his teacher and we love his dedication and perseverance to help expand our son’s musical knowledge with the sax, while also making it fun. The expansion of his new location makes the updated atmosphere a wonderful learning environment, and also has great on site repair service.
Keith was very open and helpful during his purchase of my son’s used drum set. He explained everything clearly and followed through on his statements. Courteous and respectful throughout, he helped make the transaction pleasant. I would definitely return to his shop.
4. Guitar Center
Address: 50 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT 06477 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Very nice. Informative staff. I love coming here always good fair prices and everything is well organized.
It’s ok. Not a great selection of premium instruments, and considering the size of the place I’d expect more variety of almost everything. They need to learn how to pack a music store like the independent guys do — but they’re hard to find these days…
Not Happy with associate’s knowledge of products
Customer service is nonexistent. Came in with my boyfriend to pick up an order that was placed online and was to arrive at the store within 5 days. Associates said that an email would be sent when the order arrived at the store. Two weeks later, no email is sent so we track the package and come to find that the package was delivered a week ago. We arrive at the store and wait at the service desk that says “Online Order Pick-Up” for a while. 10 minutes later, we are redirected to another part of the store. Why would there be a specific part of the store for online order pick ups when it isn’t used?? We wait for another 15-20 minutes while one salesperson is standing around not helping a customer. Finally, someone helps us and all we had to do was a sign a piece of paper and leave with the product. We spent about 30 minutes waiting to sign a piece of paper and pick up something we already paid for. It sucked.
Do not rent any instruments from them for your child’s school music program. I rented a Clarinet for my son, last year. Returned it at end of school year in June. They apparently screwed up the paperwork and I have been getting bills for this since last July, saying I returned a different instrument. Every time I call them they say their rep is looking into it. (Since July, and it is now late November…). Avoid buying or renting anything from this store at all costs!!!! You have choices, go to your local music store or Sam Ash instead.
Don’t know whats going on with this place. Stopped by last week, couldn’t tell if they are going out of business, or just got robbed. Next to no inventory, things out of place. Store beat up and run down looking. Was once a great store. Almost always walked out buying something in the past. Now just a handful of overpriced guitars behind 1 counter and bunch of junk hanging on 1 wall. I wish them the best.
5. The Music Shop
Address: 405 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Cannot saying anything negative about the Music Shop. I always recommend you to friends and family. My experience has been positive. Your staff is friendly and always helpful. My teacher amazing. I’ll miss my lessons but will stop in now an then when I need something. Sincerely, Claudia “
Been going to this store for over 20 years. Great service, friendly staff and they do the best repairs around. Scott is very knowledgeable and always takes the extra time to help you out. Prices are great as well. There’s a reason they are still around in a time of superstores and online shopping.
Very nice small music shop. I went to purchase a drum throne and received excellent customer service. I believe the gentleman’s name is Scott? He was very pleasant. I will definitely shop there again.
The cellos were in not in good shape and we had to pay a luthiere to redo repairs that were poorly done when we received the instrument.
Great place but website could be better such as pics of some used equipment. I’m a drummer and would like to see what they have for new and used cymbals, stands, drum kits etc. And prices. I have done business with them and always had a great experience the reason for three stars is the website doesn’t do the music shop justice. All and all great store great people.
6. Woodbury Music Shop
Address: 766 Main St S, Woodbury, CT 06798 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Woodbury Music is the best shop around of all of your instrument needs! The shop owner Dave, is both friendly & knowledgeable! I have gotten both common things done (fixing of saxophone keys) as well as unusual things done (fixing of a dulcimer bridge) and everyone has always been great! I have also taken lessons for almost three years now, and my teacher Mike is not only a dedicated teacher, but also a very talented professional. Stop by and check it out!
Great honest shop here. Had a great online interaction with Dave via email. Want to know why I trust them? Because they talked me out of a purchase. Ha! Thanks again!
A hidden gem UPSTAIRS. Don’t miss it. Dave the owner is great, and talented. Patrick Gill is the PREMIER guitar TECH in the whole northwest CT region. He works miracles at a very fair price. Excellent teachers, Will for piano and keyboards and Mike for guitar and bass. Better check them out. I only trust my guitars to Dave and Patrick. Won’t go anywhere else. Seriously.
7. Matty’s Music LLC
Address: 654 Enfield St, Enfield, CT 06082 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Matty shares his knowledge of guitar repair to the extent of being fair about what he can actually do and not do to help you. He is honorable to share what you can do yourself to facilitate the repair.
Please support locally owned businesses.
When my 10 yr old wanted to start an instrument, I only thought of Matty’s Music, and my daughter is so happy. I was unable to take her to look into the Baritone Horn, so my mother did. She explained how Matt was beyond helpful and informative in making making the right decision about the instrument. My mother is a hard one to be patient with, but Matt answered all of her questions and concerns. Even the ones my daughter said were silly! Thank you Matt!
Great service.
Dirty, stuff everywhere, completely disorganized.
8. George’s Music Center
Address: 905 New Harwinton Rd, Torrington, CT 06790 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Owner is very helpful whenever I’m there
Great place, really knowledgeable, very helpful and kind.
Super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Large selection of guitars on premise. Easy to get to. Had a great experience.
Nice shop
If you’re not looking to go too far to get musical instruments. Look no further. Expensive though. But if you don’t care about prices, go for it. Not much of a selection though.
Meh
This place is just awful. The owner is so rude to us that i will never go back. We rented an instrument from him because our normal music store didnt have the instrument and when the instrument broke he said it was our fault and that it wasnt covered and then bad mouthed our local music store.
After going to this place; I must say I will never go back there again. The owner is so rude and disrespectful. Its not even funny. The owner needs get off his anthropocentric state of mind.
9. Guitar Center
Address: 120 Hale Rd, Manchester, CT 06042 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Number one place for DJ’s & Musicians and people that want to learn to play a instrument. This is the place to shop or hangout & learn something about music Become a Rockstar shop at Guitar Center in Manchester CT.
A great music store for more than just guitars.
best music store on earth
I visited here 3 days ago, what a difference the walls are populated with about one-third of the selection they used to be 2 years ago. I like to put my hands on a guitar and inspect it prior to buying it. Had a quick interaction with one guy and he was accommodating and friendly. Thanks.
Wide selection of guitars, drums, and other musical instruments. Lots of accessories and used instruments, too. Wasn’t thrilled with the prices and eventually bought my guitar elsewhere. Playing lefty limited their instruments and wasn’t happy when they only put right handed guitars on sale and won’t match the price on left handed ones.
Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. The go to place when it’s time to rock.
So I jist called this store because I had purchased a gift certificate that was emailed to the recipient and now they can not find it in their email. So I called the store to get some assistance and the person answering the phone said he was the manager and basically told me there’s absolutely no way to track it either my phone numbers or email. Before I could even get the question out of my mouth, it seemed like he had an answer, he seemed either too lazy or just not willing to help me any further, so purchasers beware there goes $100 down the drain.
Condescending staff over priced used gear and low ball you on trades and this one is the best guitar centers if that counts
Pushy sales people (when they’re around), with all the heart and nuanced character of the nearby Wal-Mart. Homogenized, monolithic, soulless. Demanded I show my receipt and let them look inside my bag. They explained that this was a helpful gesture for my protection, to assure I had all the items I paid for…I gave them assurances that I had shopped at a wide variety of stores and I had a proven track record of successfully identifying and carrying items in the little bag. My assurances fell on deaf ears.
Pros: Maybe one or two. The rest are just tweens, trust-fund babies, and long-haired wanna-be’s.
Cons: Con-artists? That’s the only good thing about these guys – the prices.
10. La Salle Music & Sound
Address: 993 Main St #2233, East Hartford, CT 06108 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Very curtious and quick service went to fix guitar ❤
They really helped on some amp repairs.
Super nice and friendly in the store, and Mr. LaSalle did a wonderful job restoring my dad’s old 1962 guitar that had not been touched in decades and needed a lot of work. Definitely recommend! Photos are before and after.
First, the employees were excellent; friendly and helpful. I was extremely disappointed in the store itself. This was basically a dark, messy pawn shop, not the store I was familiar with from years ago. My only reason to go back would be to pick through dusty items to find something I might be in search of, more of an adventure.
Went in to sell my cello, the woman that was working there was amazing and very professional. She had to call the owner to ask about the selling price. He had her look up what my model last sold for on eBay (it’s 2021 my dude) and there were no matches so he had nothing to go off of. I paid $1400 for it, I was looking for around $500. He wanted to give me $50. An absolute joke. I’m not looking for top dollar but I’m also not looking to get completely ripped off.
Ordered lugs for my snare. They sent me receipts and invoices and never shipped my lugs. I called and emailed multiple times and never got a response back after leaving numerous messages. Been 2 months and I still don’t have my lugs and am out $60.
Sent me a different accordion with no straps and a case that should of been thrown out
11. Bethel Music Center – Instrument Sales, Rentals, Lessons and Repairs
Address: 273 Greenwood Ave #101, Bethel, CT 06801 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
This place is amazing. The people working there today were super helpful and professional. From the phone call inquiring about an instrument to actually renting it. The whole process was super easy and fast. I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking to rent an instrument.
Fantastic folks at BMC! Skilled lutgiers as well.
Staff is excellent! Highly recommend!!
Just stopped by quick. Had a great hour. They are the best
Good info from employees
Instrument rentals are great for their prices
12. Guitar Center
Address: 839 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Staff was awesome and knowledgeable. They were able to direct my wife and I to find the things we needed for our holiday shopping
I get to try out stuff and sometimes buy from there but prefer my local music store, Music and Arts. They are second favorite but great nonetheless
Awesome service
Needs more used Alvarez guitars.
The place is nice and the instruments are very good but the 2 employees at the time I went, were not to friendly
Pretty good set of people there they know their stuff
Horrible customer service
without option to give negative 5.
we were going to spend like 10k on equipment. first i asked on of the managers if they have military discount and said no, which on the website says they do. I gave the person a list of the instruments we needed with the quantities and model but everything was wrong I was there for three hours I had only managed to sort half of the list which was wrong he kept putting things wrong.
I ended up canceling the order which they didn’t even know how to do.
Dropped by today for my second time and was incredibly disappointed. The place was way too loud with some sort of music demonstration to the point that I couldn’t hear the staff at the checkout with their masks muffling their voices. Employees didn’t seem too eager to help out either and I felt like I was inconveniencing them just by being there for a purchase. I’ll stick to online retail from now on.
13. The Music Score LLC
Address: 2315 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Came here for some guitar strings and the employee was super awesome
Gil is a super friendly guy! My son really enjoys guitar lessons with him!
I have been taking piano lessons with Gil Flores @ The Music Score studio for the past 2 years and have had an excellent experience. Gil brings a wealth of musical experience and teaches in a very understandable, nonthreatening manner with reasonable expectations and positive feedback. Relates well to all age groups.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
My daughter is signed up for lessons and her teacher is great (I hear the others are as well). Just try not to deal with the guy that owns it.
Arrived at 10:00am (they open at 10am, but not today). I waited and they finally arrived. All I needed was guitar strings, but they had none. What a waste of time.
I tried to return my daughter’s Viola due to the school no longer providing classes. It was a total nightmare to get an answer in regards to my credit. They are very irresponsible and I am very disappointed by the lack of care towards my return which was even misplaced! Mom and dad are not helpful at all and he should really look at keeping them home, they make things worse!
14. JC Music
Address: 529 W Main St, Meriden, CT 06451 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
JC Music have sold my amplifier, clarinets, trumpet. They are very fair and courteous and works with you on getting the best price. I highly recommend using JC Music for you consignment items. Joe D., Cheshire, CT.
Kevin and Paul have been great to work with! My daughter loves her lessons and is really becoming a self described “band geek.” It is especially wonderful that she has been able to take piano and baritone lessons back to back, thus helping this momma reduce the chauffeur duties!
If you are looking for a great place for music lessons, instrument rentals or repairs check out JCMUSIC in Meriden. The staff there is amazing. They can answer all of your questions and trust me I have had a lot. Plus my kids love the teachers and the music director Sean is so patient and wonderful. Really I cant say enough good things about them
Would like to obtain some nice brushes and some type of top hat set used and very sturdy since I break percussion instruments all the time when I perform?
My son, Roberto Luis and Rosa live in Meriden. Are you far from the mall? I have spent a lot of time jamming in Puerto Rico to salsa, merengue, etc but my favorite is funk like Buddy Miles.
My grandson really enjoyed the music lessons and they are very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend them.
Never have any of the literature or instrument parts I’m looking for. Took 3 months to repair a trombone. I tried to return an item and they wouldn’t give me back the cash to go to another place. The owner has blatantly disrespected my mother on several occasions and doesn’t have much knowledge of much of anything outside of rock music. As far as i’m concerned, this is the worst music store i’ve ever set foot in and would not recommend to anybody.
This was a horrible expierence. They need to get their stuff together, they had already-sold instruments on shelf. They had an amazing guitar sale and when I went to buy, it was already sold! They got my hopes high and let it down and I will not give them my money any longer.
Completely disappointed. I placed an order in store on a instrument that was never placed with JC music. The customer service was poorly displayed and the options they gave us was not acceptable. I asked to speak to the owner several times and would not get on the phone and made his new employee talk to me. I ended up going somewhere else that was amazing
15. Westbury Music
Address: 686 Main St, Watertown, CT 06795 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Mike the owner is one of the nicest guys. This is a great place for equipment, supplies and lessons.
Awesome place, great staff, very knowledgeable
It is very convienent to take lessons.
Staff is very friendly and knowledgable.
excellent store, good Fender Selection, nice acoustics, lessons, and school instruments.
Ordered instrument for my son, was told to pick up the next day, went the following day to pick it up and it wasn’t there. Also bought a box of reefs for the instrument and was given the wrong kind. The gentleman that waited on us was polite, although he didn’t recognize us even though we had just been in the day before!
16. DuBaldo Music Center
Address: 881 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Prompt and professional! Recently purchased an SBMM Majesty guitar online and it came in perfect condition with Dubaldo only upgrades, Will definitely recommend them and will be making more purchases in the future. Thanks Dubaldo team!!
That was likely the most pleasant guitar buying experience I have ever had. I could not recommend patronizing this amazing store more. Thank you so much!!
I’m not sure how long this review will be, but I will say upfront that buying a guitar from DuBaldo Music was a great experience, from day one until I took delivery of my instrument, and beyond!
I ordered an Alvarez-Yairi Honduran series (FYM66HD) guitar from Pete at DuBaldo music in April 2021.
For those reading this review in the somewhat distant future, allow me to set the scene a bit:
There was a LOT going on in the world during this time. The COVID Pandemic was still raging, and supply chains were snarled at every turn.
Ports were closed, dock workers and truckers were striking or working limited hours under delayed timelines. Parts availability was questionable at best, etc.
VERY long story short: The guitar had to be hand built in Japan, then shipped to the west coast, then shipped to St.Louis, MO, then shipped to DuBaldo Music in CT before I could take delivery. All the while, considering the conditions of the world as described above.
Pete, Lisa and everyone else at DuBaldo music helped me along at every stage, kept me updated, empathized with and tolerated my frequent calls for updates, contacted the distributor in St. Louis on my behalf, and were generally very pleasant to work with over a period of just over one full year.
I will not pretend that I wasn’t itching to receive my guitar, or that the extended delay didn’t bother me. It was a maddening wait!
But I want to make it crystal clear:
DuBaldo music did their absolute best to get it to me as quickly as possible, considering the extremely challenging circumstances. I can’t say enough about their customer service. It was exceptional at every stage!
When I made my order over the phone, Pete answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with what I was ordering as far as the specs were concerned. We made a deal on a VERY good price, and the wait began.
I won’t bore with the details, but between Japan and Connecticut there were numerous significant delays. Mostly unavoidable and one or two caused by decisions that St.Louis Music made, and/or failed to communicate ahead of time.
Pete and Lisa worked through all of this for me deftly, and professionally.
I am not local to the store. I live in DC, about 6 hours away. When the guitar finally arrived, there were 3 in the order, and Pete and Lisa let me know that I could have my pick of the three. Instead of having Pete play them for me over the phone and choosing from pictures, I decided to drive up and try them out in person, and drive it home myself.
Lisa and Nick were more than accommodating, and I was made to feel very comfortable while taking my time to decide. All 3 guitars were incredible instruments and it was a tough decision. Nick provided periodic feedback and assistance as I tried them over a period of about 3 hours. I never felt rushed, bothered, or unimportant. They made sure I was attended to but was not hovered over.
They knew exactly how to help a musician pick an instrument, and it is clear that they wanted to make sure I was equipped to make the right choice, and leave satisfied.
On the way out, as they knew I was a visitor, they even provided local restaurant recommendations, since I had mentioned that I was making my best effort to eat at great places while I was on the road.
I was, and am still, very happy with the decision I made, and with the entire experience of buying from DuBaldo music.
I cannot recommend them highly enough!
My only disappointment was that after a year of talking to him several times a month on the phone, I didn’t get to meet Pete in person, since he was out sick the day I visited.
Hopefully he’s feeling better now, and if I’m ever back in CT, I’ll be sure to stop in and thank him personally!
Thanks again to Lisa, Nick, Pete, and everyone at DuBaldo for a trying, long lasting,, but ultimately completely satisfying experience! The guitar is utterly amazing and will be with me forever, as will the experience of shopping with you.
Great service
17. A Sound Choice
Address: 267 E Main St UNIT 3, Branford, CT 06405 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Great service and great guitars. Kenny is a good man.
Great local place. Go to them for all my guitar needs.
When I can I prefer to spend my money at mom -n- pop businesses and A Sound Choice is a great guitar shop. Knowledgeable and they have a great selection of music making products. The corporate guitar stores don’t always hire staff that even know what a treble clef is so my advice is spend your money here.
Cool little music shop. Worth going and especially if you need a setup on your instrument.
Very convenient
18. Music & Arts
Address: 50 Main St, East Hartford, CT 06118 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
Both of my sons began instruments this fall, and both got amazing attention, and we were given high quality new products. Will always use Music & Arts.
A great store. It is well stocked and organized. The staff is friendly and helpful. They both rent and sell instruments. They also do lessons and repairs. We have now bought two instrument and rented 4 from them and would definitly go back again. We tried the Glastonbury School recommended service and it was a mistake. These guys ae are local and awesome. My highest recommendation.
Very nice and knowledgeable staff. They always hook me up with the best equipment. Deffinatley my go to store for anything music related.
Cool place, very expensive
Good selection and price
I went to the store 7:45 pm because I need to rent an instrument. I’ve been waiting because the employee was helping another customer. Then, when it was my turn he said : I can’t help you because we close at 8 come back tomorrow. While I was waiting I saw another employee he just looking at us and he didn’t of help us.The worst customer service I ever experienced.
I had been taking lessons at this location since March 2019. One of their instructors stopped teaching in June 2019 and took the summer months off. The store called me in August to say the instructor was not returning in the Fall and my account would be closed but if I wanted to begin with a new instructor I could. To my surprise upon starting with the new instructor, my account incurred a new student fee of $30 which is out of order since I am a continuing student; I asked the store to provide a credit and they recently did so. The new student fee is inappropriate due to no fault of mine.
Rented a saxaphone for 2 years. Summers were free. Returned the sax in the fall and was charged for the summer. 300$ which is the yearly rate. No notification or change of contract. Its a scam. Free summers not part of the contract, just a gift to you until you return it. Hours spent on hold to corporate as the local manager has no power.
19. Blue Bus Music
Address: 6 Prospect St, Ridgefield, CT 06877 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
I bought a Maton Mini from Blue Bus – great service, price and product. Will definitely go back to them again!
A great local music store with a variety of Maton guitars, occasional performance showcases, and fab music teachers available for lessons.
I can’t say enough about this place, it really is much, much more than your average music shop.
Owners Sanna and Patrick are kind, thoughtful and very customer focused. I purchased a beautiful Maton guitar and an AER amplifier there and also had Patrick do some work on my old Guild acoustic, and my experiences were extremely positive. Patrick took time with me and really understood what my goals were musically, and all his advice and recommendations were very useful. Sanna was also great, and always got back to me very promptly with any questions or concerns I had along the way.
Blue Bus also has a dedicated team of teachers that I also highly recommend, available to teach people of all skill levels.
They also have an “open mic” evening which has been put on hold because of the pandemic, but I know they want to resume it when things get better (which can’t happen fast enough).
It has been a real pleasure to support this local business, the individualized customer focus from them makes it so worthwhile.
Highly recommend!!
Nice looking small shop with an interesting selection of off brand guitars. I always like when the smaller shops aren’t afraid to stock higher end gear. The selection of acoustic guitars especially. The pedal section could use some fleshing out.
Needed one string for my son violin rental. The lady was trying to sell me on a pack of strings that I do not need.
Bought a Maton guitar ….. company doesn’t have a clue on how to set a guitar up….. I have purchased no less then 50 guitars been playing for 50 years…. this company shouldn’t be allowed to sell guitars much less Maton .
20. Music & Arts
Address: 1863 Post Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824 , Sort , Connecticut , United States
People are passionate there ! I really enjoyed my time at this place ! Thanks again and I’ll be back soon for sure !
My son has been taking guitar lessons with Paul for about 6 months now, and we have been extremely pleased with his progress. Paul Fredericks is a great teacher. He has good rapport with his students and makes the lessons both fun and challenging. My son always looks forward to his lessons. We highly recommend him as a guitar teacher.
Great experience with the staff, friendly and helpful with renting equipment and taking lessons.
Sales staff were not super knowledgable. We rented our son’s violin for school through them and billing was always an issue even though it was on monthly automatic payment. Glad the saga is over.
The prices are ok. The parking can be tough. The person working the desk was dismissive of my questions. Not a lot of inventory on display. They seem more about instruction.
Thank you for your service n attention. Thank guys for helping me to pick the perfect gift for my wife.
Very bad and rude customer service, hang up my phone.
Don’t rent any instrument from this place. People are very rude. Calling customer service takes forever to get someone on the phone. Unfriendly customer service, supervisors don’t want to talk to customers. Find another place to rent instruments for your children.
WARNING! WARNING TO PARENTS!! DO NOT USE THIS SHOP FOR RENTALS! Should be ZERO stars.
We rented from here for 5 years, the first 4 went off without a hitch. This year has been an absolute nightmare. We rented two instruments, same address, same name, same payment. ONE account had no issues, the other the local store put in the wrong address (where we have never lived). Over the last 4 months I have called their headquarters, left messages, emails, etc. trying to get a paper bill MAILED so that I could pay whatever was owed. They were incapable of sending this, and every time I called in could not even find the right account or would tell me everything was fine and they did not know why I was being contacted. When asked why they could not have looked at our other rental account for the correct information they were stunned into silence. Absolute incompetency from the sales staff all the way up to the billing department supervisor who assigned our missing “account” to a collections agency and then gave us the WRONG agency. Save yourself the trouble and stay far, far away from here.
