Excellent coffe, but probably the worst croissant ever
Decent cafe
Slow
Coffee and Affogoto were very disappointing. And a staff who took our order today needs to learn how to treat customers.
When you are handing someone a croissant to go through the drive-through and you feel it is harder than a brick maybe not put it in the bag. I ordered an almond croissant this morning took a bite and nearly broke my tooth
Dan is easy to work with a d I am sorry I didn’t put these old movies on a thumb drive sooner.
I brought a box full of family videos to be converted to digital and was very happy with the final outcome. I received everything back in the time promised and the quality of the conversion was better than I expected. I don’t know how they perform their magic, I’m just glad they do and that my families memories are now properly archived.
Dan did a great job transferring a LOT of my music cassettes, home videos and dvds to digital and did it quickly, too! Very reasonable and one less thing for me to worry about! Thanks, Dan!!
Highly recommend. Dan was easy to work with. Now I have my treasured memories forever!!
7. Solo Classic
Address: 476 W Half Day Rd, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089 , Riverwoods , Illinois , United States
This is the only local store where the owner is a professional violin maker. Per my conversation Roumen , he is a graduate from Chicago School of Violin making. All the instruments at the store are custom set up for optimal playability. You cant beat the price for the quality you are getting. Last week left my bow to be rehaired and as usual he did an outstanding job. A friend of mine plays for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and he referred me to this local family shop. Keep up the good job guys!!!
I have taken lessons at Solo Classic ever since I was little. Dani and Roumen are so nice and every teacher I have had has been professional and experienced. Really grew as an individual and as a musician.
The owners are incredibly fantastic and kind people! They really make you feel like family with how affable they are. In addition, they are very active supportive of the local music community.
I recently had my bow rehaired and Roumen did an incredible and very fast job (even cleaning the stick thoroughly), ensuring I was ready to play once again once the new week rolled around. Price is very reasonable for a rehair and I am incredibly satisfied with the work done!
Rental service is ok! Never returned inquiry for piano lessons inspite multiple follow ups and promises to arrange !
Both of my boys take lessons at solo classic. My 12 year old has been taking lessons for cello for more than a year now. My 6 year old just started piano lessons few weeks back. The teachers are great here, Very accommodating per your needs.
Do not recommend this place. In 1 year we were going on our third instructor. When I received an email to switch my lesson times is how I found out. When asked to just be done and receive a refund for the rest of the lessons that I paid for, I was told NO my son needs to finish with their new guy. I’m sorry but I would actually like to meet the guy first and decide if we even want to work with this person.
The other annoying thing is their total unorganization. Plus you can only pay cash or check. They do not take debit or credit cards for lessons. I don’t walk around with that much cash on me nor do I carry a check book around like my grandma does.
Its painful to deal with the lady at the front desk
8. Great Lakes Music Academy
Address: 2549 Waukegan Rd, Bannockburn, IL 60015 , Riverwoods , Illinois , United States
Mary was extremely helpful and friendly. I had lost the keys to my locker and needed to have the lock drilled. She asked if I could wait, as she was waiting for a customer. The customer never showed up and after 45 minutes or so, Mary put the “ back in 15 minutes “ sign in the window and went to my locker to drill the lock. I even returned to the office while she was working on my lock, no one was waiting. Not only was she committed to getting my lock drilled, but she was aware that another customer also needed her attention…
This is the nicest, cleanest storage facility I’ve ever been in. The prices are very competitive for the area. Out of the 3 facilities I visited, Cube Smart was a little lower, with the nicest facility! The general manager, Bill was very professional, very helpful and greets me by name every time he sees me, after only meeting me once. I highly recommend Cube Smart on D.eerfield rd in Riverwoods, IL
I had a storage space at public storage in Naperville that left a bad taste in my mouth. When I found this place online, I assumed the tasteless experience would be the same. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong.
The sign up was seamless and the ladies in the front office were extremely professional and helpful throughout the process. Not to mention, they always spoke if I came by to check on my items making me feel my stuff was in good hands. I don’t remember the other lady name. But that Mary customer service was exceptional and she always went above and beyond.
The inside is clean and well kept. The elevators didn’t have left over debris or nor was it all stinky. I personally don’t like carpet in storage places. However, the carpet at this facility didn’t smell or look bad. I checked out today and although I’m happy I don’t have to pay monthly for a unit anymore, I’m going to miss the friendliness and the experience this place offered. Overall, my experience was superb and if I ever need to rent a unit again in this area or if I know someone in this area or if you’re looking for a unit, this place is #1. From the quality of service to the units. Leave your belongings in good hands.
When Bill the original manager was there the service was exceptional. When it came to renew I was offered one rate if I paid for a year upfront, but when I returned from Europe the rate was not honored. I would have moved out sooner except had too much inventory at the time.
New, clean, well lit facility.
Everything was great.
Staff are not very helpful and confusing to find your way through the maze.
This place has an awfully rude rep in the office. At the beginning when we were looking to rent a unit she was somewhat pleasant but once it was eented the next day she did a 360 turn and was rude every single time we had a question. We have rented in the past but it had been awhile so we had questions and let me tell you..we were sorry to even ask. I had to go in and ask that I needed the light fixture on our 10X30 fixed and it was like asking for the sun to be brought down. She made a face and said:”noone complains about a 2nd light”. Which to my response was, then why is there a light, plus since we have a bigger unit I cannot see the items in the back without a light. Needless to say she was bothered and said: “well I’ll call the handy guy and I don’t know when he’ll come but you have to come when he’s available or you have yo leave a key ” I agreed to get this convo over with but 1 week past by and nothing. I went back in to remind her and it clearly looked like she had forgotten and NEVER made that call and just said:”I haven’t gotten a response I’ll call again”. a few days later it was fixed..no apologies or nothing. It was dreadful dealing, asking that lady a question. Another time when i asked when the special would be over, if i was able to get another deal she quivkly responded:”no, you pay full price”. I asked: “what about if my son rents out a unit”..she quickly said: “ill flag your account. I can flag you right away and if you dont pay, ill have your stuff taken out!” We were asking questions to see if there was any ways we could save some money after our 2 month rental in case we needed more time, but this lady started going off and assumed way too much. I believe in Customer Service and that place does NOT have it. The units itself are ok but half if the time when we were moving our stuff, we noticed that the AC was not working. Perhaps they turned it off or had it low but it felt more like a fan running. There were 2 more new reps when we were moving out of there, so hopefully that awful rude person is gone. But if you care how you are talked too..youll avoid this place. Needless to say we moved our stuff to a different storage area with kinder reps. and saving more money because the other rep is willing to work with us after our 2 month rental in case our garage is not finished.
I got the worst service in my life on the day I moved in. The location is 3725 Deerfield Rd, Riverwoods, IL. I was asked to prepay a hundred dollars in cash to secure my use of the reserved truck. But I don’t get any invoices. The issue from the elevator was not available due to the size of my sofa. There was a delay of about twenty minutes when I’m return the truck. I was told by the service manager that it was impossible to get the $100 bond that was supposed to be returned to me. What I got answers from her is I need to leave immediately. Otherwise, she would call the polices and sue me for affecting her normal off-duty hours. As a customer, I have never been treated this way. I feel that I have received severe discrimination. So I don’t recommend this nice building to you if the manager continues to work at here.
10. Dr Woods Guitar Emporium
Address: 304 Lincoln Ave, Fox River Grove, IL 60021 , Riverwoods , Illinois , United States
Wish I had known about this establishment sooner. Buddy & his associates made me feel very comfortable without any sales pressure & performed exceptional work on my LP. This will be my future “go to place”
SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESSES
Buddy is the best guitar teacher on the planet He is great with kids and teenagers. He makes learning to play fun
Very friendly, asked for advice on a project gave great direction. I will definitly come back to give them my business.
A very helpful and knowledgeable staff. A relaxed atmosphere with some really great looking guitars.
Buddy is an expert musician. His advice, insights, and customer service are worth the visit. I support this local shop because they offer value that I can’t get from the web or a large chain.
I called 45 minutes before they closed and was there about 25 to 30 minutes before they closed to get a guitar pick the lady with a dog looked at me walking out locked the door and got into her car and left mind you there was still about like I said 25 to 30 minutes left so if you’re gonna close at 8:30 put it on your page on Google that closing is at 8:30 and I’m still gonna buy a pick tomorrow because you’re the closest but that will probably be the last time I’m there and I will be returning the saxophone either Friday or the third
Its a long story. In the end it was a bad experience.
I think if I didn’t check up with them things could have been much worst.
I’m not doing any business with them and advise the same.
I debated posting a review or not, but I think I should if it’ll keep someone from having a bad experience. First off, the employees are super kind people. Couldn’t be happier with the staff. But unfortunately the work I received on my guitar was really poor. Took a guitar there, first time bringing them one of my instruments. Was told I could expect a turnaround in under a week. Ended up waiting almost 2 months. Honestly not a big deal, happens a lot with instrument repair. Got the guitar back. Took it out to play it and the truss rod cover is missing. Find it in the case and put it on. Turn the volume knob, it falls off. Have to spread the top of the pot and reinstall it. Start playing and there’s a weird oscillating noise from the amp. Find the output jack totally loose, have to take off the cover and tighten it. Screws for the cover are stripped in the body. This is a new guitar by the way. Notice the G string sits higher off the neck than all the others, very noticeably. Figured they would fix this when doing a setup but I guess not. Had to file the saddles out myself. Should have just done the job myself at this point. Ended up taking the guitar apart to make sure the wiring wasn’t as bad as the assembly and setup. Got it playing good now, but after paying for someone else to do it and then having to do it myself, it wasn’t worth it. I figured the extra time taken would have meant it was 100% ready to go when they called but apparently not. This was a mid range guitar so I’m not terribly upset about it, but if it was something really nice I would have definitely been upset. Take this into consideration before dropping off your favorite axe. Hope they learn to slow down and do quality work.
11. Music Center of Deerfield
Address: 811 Waukegan Rd, Deerfield, IL 60015 , Riverwoods , Illinois , United States
Great staff. Very knowledgeable about many instruments. I’m glad to have the music store so close to home.
They are very helpful and kind!
While this location doesn’t “specialize” in guitar equipment like the sister store in Libertyville does, they did have a nice selection of beginner/intermediate guitars (both acoustic and electric) and a few cheaper amps. More suited to band/piano needs, but still very helpful and nice staff. More well rounded than the music store across the street, but not quite as much band specific as the other either.
Inventory boasts hundreds of items… actual store has none of them
I visited on a Tuesday evening. Because the product I wanted was not in stock, I requested that it be ordered. I was informed the order would go out Thursday (as they are closed Wednesdays), and would take one week. I called the following Thursday (the anticipated delivery date) to check the status, and found out the order was never actually put through. I will not do business with a store which cannot handle such a simple process.
