Got a great deal on a used guitar. I highly recommend this shop.
This place is great! Amazing service, friendly staff, and great gear. A lot of guitar and musician’s gear places nowadays, sadly, seem to have removed themselves from the passion of being in the music industry, instead taking a purely business-like perspective to the trade. But not these guys! They are focused on providing their fellow musicians with the best gear and services to meet their needs, period. Plus, they take an active role in the community, donating guitars and gear to schools and other institutions, thus providing the means for children and students to express their creativity through music. I am now coming here for all of my needs as a musician, and implore all musicians who are passionate about their art to do the same.
Terrific store! Great prices and expertise!
If you’re looking for some assistance or direction, this is not the place for you. Person at the counter made me feel completely unwelcome. Because of his unwelcoming attitude, I did not want to stay in the store for another minute, let alone ask any questions. Five stars for the wide selection, zero stars for service.

Went in to purchase two sets of guitar strings. I got some cheap Earthwood strings which usually cost $8. Idk why they charged me $15 per set.
The manager was completely disrespectful and totally rude. He ended up treating us so badly that my husband told him he felt like he was being disrespectful and the guy kicked us out when we where being friendly and respectful and asking questions. Will never go there again. Completely uncalled for.
these guys rip me off everytime i buy something there, they lie and just plain are shady AF.

Best place to shop for music related items. Super staff.
Yayyy
Super nice people and great service
I went in looking for harmonicas and their variety was not good. I was very disappointed but they had a large selection of guitars.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff good selection of instruments
Helpful service people, variety of instruments and lessons, parking lot a nightmare
Pour services
Took my vinyage 70’s modified stratocaster to be flipped from a righty to a lefty and they didnt even flip the nut they just used some glue to raise the strings to make them fit. Seemed like they didnt care about doing a good job or doing the job right just to get it done as fast as possible and collect there money. Dissapointed because i always try to help local business over corporate monsters like bananas but even at bananas i feel like the staff is more attentive. If your a high class snob this might be your perfect fit.
I was pretty amazed by the amount of instruments that were in the store, it was pretty cool. I walked in, only greeted by a man behind the counter, facing towards the wall, raised his hand with a half-attempt “Hey.” I was there to pick up some tenor sticks for marching band, so I walked over to the stick rack. There was almost no marching percussion sticks, but a really good variety of other sticks. I found some tenor sticks, poorly packaged and plastic with some cuts and tears. There were only 3 pairs, so I picked one up to see the price… Sad, I must say at the least. I spent $30 on ONE pair of Promark TS8’s. I didn’t want to buy it, but I had no choice. Probably won’t be buying from there anymore, I’m better off getting 4 pairs of TS8’s on Amazon for $30 !!!
3. Bananas At Large
Address: 531 College Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95404 , Roseland , California , United States
Everyone in this store is super friendly and helpful. Their manager Zach always goes out of his way to help me with finding any gear I inquire about. This is the only guitar store in this area worth going to. I’m so grateful for these guys!
This place has a friendly and helpful staff and everything music. I highly recommend this shop.
Thank you for your help very much appreciated
Although I often wish they had a larger inventory, I am always impressed by the service I recieve here.
Muy bueno
Great guitars!!
I would like this place better if they didn’t try to upsell me super expensive guitars. I mean honestly I don’t know how this place is in business with these prices during covid. You would think they were for the people.
Theyre called Bananas at large cuz it’s robbery and they’re basically criminals at large. Decent selction at outrageous prices.
4. Relentless Sound
Address: 1314 Petaluma Hill Rd, Santa Rosa, CA 95404 , Roseland , California , United States
I’ve known Mick for 40 years and he is painfully honest. I wouldn’t let anyone else work on my instruments. As for a “$450 dollar violin,” that is the absolute bottom of the student violin range if you want a fiddle that actually plays. I look forward to purchasing a high-end Chinese-made violin in the near future for my outdoor gigs. I know I’ll get the best bang for the buck from this shop.
Excellent service and sales.
The nicest family owned violin shop. On the expensive side, but nice customer service
Muy vien
Left 130 year old violin for repair.
Diferentes y variados sabores de pizzas
Eselente y buenos
What turned out to be a truly horrible expirence!!
Two years ago we purchased a violin here for our daughter. At the time we paid 3500 for the violin. Since that time my daughter has switched to a different instrument so we decided to sell the violin. Upon contacting several other shops they let us know the we had grossly over paid and had been ripped off. What was sold to us as a 3500.00 violin, turns out to be worth roughly 500.00. We have now had several shops tell us how horrible they feel in knowing a violin shop would sell items so dishonestly. Very disappointed. Will be reporting them to the B.B.B.
Drove a long way to buy a violin..they were closed. When it said they were open
6. JD Bauman and The Boot Band
Address: 40 Maxwell Ct Suite 3, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 , Roseland , California , United States
Fine people, they know music and instruments, they took time to help me get exactly what i wanted. And the store is charming, full of instruments ranging from world exotics (what IS that thing?) to local folk art (Aa 3 string bass made from a wooden toilet seat? Seriously?) as well as familiar guitars, basses, ukes, etc. And they have everything a musician needs–picks, strings, tuners , music books and lessons. Always my first stop when music shopping.
Lots of cool and different guitars and amps.
The owner is a genuine kind human being who cares about the musica and musician ship. I went in and was looking at some acosutics and he gave me a mini lesson for free and even wrote down the guitar tab for me. Most welcoming music store in sonoma county. They care about the music first business second. Three thumbs up!
People’s Music use to be better, but it’s still a fine local music store for grabbing some supplies or renting a school instrument. It has the charm and “treasure hunt” qualities of a small-town music store, you can find a cheap guitar for a beginner or a full-on vintage Gibson SG, so it’s always worth a stop by.
Nice people
Nasty and uncaring owners; Get music somewhere else! pointed out a safety hazard in the store, where someone could easily trip, fall and be injured. I suggested yellow tape. The owners got mad and told me to “leave my store!” Avoid these nasty owners.
Andrew is one of the very few people who understands the golden mean as applied to violin making. He is a master in everything he does and the fruits of his labor remains for an eternity.
Andy Caruthers is a master Luthier. He crafts beautiful instruments, and did some very fine repairs on my cello, including a perfect sound post adjustment, fingerboard planing and more. He also carefully looked over my very old cello to make sure everything was in perfect condition, and what to watch out for in the future/ what kind of work it might need. He is extremely kind and personable, and very experienced.

Really tight space with a great selection of various instruments. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. 10/10 would recommend!
Great music stores in Santa Rosa.
Best food in that part of town, big portions and great salsa!!
A lot of instruments, friendly staff. Very cramped space though, otherwise I’d give it a better rating.
Very expensive but has some good brands to pick from
I chose this establishment when it came time to decide where I was going to buy my guitar I had a good relationship with a former manager who sold it to me. I have been in and out of the store from time to time and purchased a few items here and there but honestly I was not happy with the phone conversation I had yesterday with whom ever picked up the phone.
He was very cordial and businesslike of course which anyone but expect from a well-seasoned established neighborhood outlet. I have enquired about a couple of items I needed to complete a project he said that he can order them for me but when I added I believe I can get them on eBay as well he said okay thank you very much and rudely hung up on me.I don’t believe that’s just because I choose to get one or two items from a different resource that I should face such reprisal and for this reason alone I will not return to the store and it really is a shame when you walk in you get that old time flavor that was so calm and many years ago. It was just not professional behavior and now my trust is lost. Sorry I just left this message by way of microphone I think it may be hard of hearing completely Miss worded the whole thing
I had a great experience, purchasing my piano from this store, so I contacted them to move my piano to my new home in the area. They did not coordinate with their movers in advance, so there was a conflict in the day of my move, despite having reserved it many weeks in advance. No one contacted me proactively, and I only learned when I called an hour before the scheduled arrival to confirm the day and time that there was a conflict. They tried to resolve the problem with an alternative van, but did not communicate throughout the day, when the van apparently kept breaking down. So I waited for hours in my empty, unheated apartment, waiting without updates. Then the same thing happened on the delivery end. And when we very respectfully approached the owner about all the issues, he got very angry and was incredibly rude. I could have moved the piano, myself, but paid a lot of money to have someone else do it to spare the stress and hassle. Instead, it ended up causing much more stress than it was worth. We were treated unkindly despite the shops own mistake. Would not recommend.
While I sent my fiancé into your store to inquire about purchasing a piano ~ I heard back that the person in attendance, Wayne, was obnoxiously rude and condescending. I then was told by someone who knows Wayne, that he is rude and everyone knows it.
My fiancé is one of the nicest people in the World ~ you LOST a customer, BIG TIME.

Insanely talented, if you want to learn this is your teacher.
Cameron is a great Teacher and person. He’s helped me tremendously in my journey to learn more about my instrument. Along with the his talent on guitar he possess the gift of teaching which many don’t have. Cameron is always professional and is ready to get to work with me on concepts and ideas. I would highly recommend taking lessons from him no matter your level, whether starting out or years of playing. He will open up to you new ways to see things and inspire you. Every time i’m done with a lesson I feel excited about playing and that it was a great investment. All in all He’s a guy that takes what he does seriously and won’t waste your time, Plus you’ll have a lot of fun working together. I’m proud to have him as my teacher and friend. Highly recommended!
My students had the amazing opportunity to experience Onye through the power of his drumming class. The culture, the storytelling, the passion, and the joy in life are all extremely important for middle school student’s witness. Onye was a powerful representation of a positive role model and we throughly enjoyed his class. There was so much laughter and joy brought to my 7th grade class. Thank you Onye for your influence on these students.

I bought a midi interface for my home setup from these guys yesterday. They were really helpful! They’re not just selling products, but they actually had some really useful information about how to get it working and to call them if there was an issue. Great customer service. Great selection of keyboards! And the general vibe of the store was just righteous. Really appreciated the atmosphere. Guy I spoke with was Matt and he was really really helpful.
Love going in here. And .. though they always have it when I’m out of town – never gotten to make one yet – they have this SATURDAY (usually) where you come in and make a charitable donation – and – they restring your guitar for you. Some day ..I’ll make that day.
They also have a little learning thing – where – you become part of a band and get to perform and all that, too. I suck so badly at guitar – that – and I’m too old to do it … I think . . . never too old, right? But .. you get to perform and learn from the pro’s .. it’s soo cool.
It’s a great place to go in and look and drool and dream of that next THING you need.
They do great set up’s, too. I had a guitar given to my grandson and had it set up there .. just as a walk in. Just great people and great gear. And giving back to the community is what they enjoy doing.
These kids are doing their part to make America great again
This is what a music store should be like
Friendly and knowledgeable staff, relaxed atmosphere.
Helpful service and some quality gear.
So, I’ve been in here twice since I’ve moved from East Bay to Rohnert Park last year. On both separate occasions the staff watches me like I’m going to steal every item in the store somehow. Very, very, very uncomfortable to look up and have every worker in the store staring at you from across the room, yet not one word of helpfulness or a ‘hi’ or anything. I wont be stepping foot in ‘this boy’s club again’.
They’d rather make $50 or so than lose a customer and get a negative feedback. Not sure that’s a winning business strategy in the long run, but best of luck.

Yo People, I recorded many of the tracks that went into my CD, Miles of BLU/MOB at Northern Lights Recording. Berry Chiffman was the music engineer at the board. Mike Clark of Herbie Hancock and the Headhunters is my music producer. He and Berry worked in great harmony together on Miles of Blu. Berry Chiffman is the top music engineer in the Santa Rosa area and beyond. Miles of Blu/MOB went on to chart on the Jazzweek music charts in the USA. A mighty hip thanks to Berry.
Tony Adamo/Urbanzonerecords
Quick efficient and affordable.
Very perfect and relational as well. Musicians and up coming Musicians should give this place a trial.
I never went there but the guy did return my call
20. Garcia’s Stereo & Installations

Horrible Horrible Horrible DO NOT GO HERE! I went back two times first the lady was super rude and said to come back that he didn’t have time to look at my radio. I called the next day to make sure I could go in on my lunch hour and when I drove all the way across town they where CLOSED FOR LUNCH! who does that?! The guy Garcia needs to get his priorities in check! Rude Rude Rude My advice is that he get a calendar and keep appointments if he schedules them!
