Always GREAT working with Christian!! He really knows his stuff and I’m confident we’ll always get exactly what we need. Fantastic Service and Excellent Quality. Thanks Christian 🙂
Fantastic down tension bar, fits as a factory OEM tailpiece would, fantastic addition to your Bigsby.
I can’t speak more highly of Christian and his Towner products. In my quest to install a Bigsby on my 17 Sheraton II Pro, and not have to fill or drill, I found the Towner Down Tension bar. I immediately ordered the tension bar and also his Bigsby hinge plate adapter with short hinge, all in gold. I may have been a bit impatient, as I ordered the bar before i saw the plate! Luckily Christian responded to the on-site chat almost instantly, and bundled my orders to save shipping.
It arrived quickly from his machine shop, with links to instructional videos (by the man himself). Although good instruction doesn’t prevent obstacles. Turns out my Sheraton has very non-standard spacing and the tension bar was a tad too long to fit. A quick message to Christian and he instructed me on shortening the bar at home. His recommendation was perfect! Tension bar looks, fits, and works very well.
I look forward to getting more Towner products and am excited to see what Christian brings us next!

Very happy with my bow rehair experiance. It didn’t take my bow long to be completed ! Would recommend.
Brought Jason my cello after the fingerboard fell off. He reattached it and replaced my bridge as well. He was a pleasure to work with – kind, easygoing, and honest. More importantly, my cello sounds better than it did before! I will be back for sure!
My violin sound post came out of place and when I searched for a violin repair person, I called several places and Jason Bechard answered and it was a true amazing experience. Jason was able to schedule me right away, and within a matter of an hour, he was able to assist me with the great repair. I am glad I found him and highly recommend him for all types of violin and viola repairs. Thank you

Great place to get hard to find new and used Vinyl records.
Living in Wyoming, we don’t have the best selections of vinyl, so on vacation I decided to find a place. Very small shop but packed with great albums! Organized so simply, it was easy for me to pick out a heavy stack that was a trick to get home on a plane. Owner was a cool guy who helped me find what I was looking for and shoot the breeze a bit too. I am just getting started in collecting so it was great to get that help. Love this shop. Highly recommended.
Super dope record store! Very clean and organized a perfect selection of a little bit of everything.
Overpriced and small. Mostly hip hop or trendy music. Mostly vinyl. Staff was not helpful or talkative.
Feel it records has a great selection and good prices
The Staff not the friendliest
Was at this recordstore today. Was to open at noon but was till closed at 12.30. Waited about 15 minutes but still nobody showed up. Very disappointed. Either open on time or make sure your store information on the internet is listed correctly. Visiting record stores in the USA coming from abroad, but this was a real bummer. Won’t consider comming here again.
Good selection, over priced records!

I love the lessons that Craig has given to help my voice.
Craig is amazing! I taught myself what I thought were the basics on YouTube and with tabs but realized I didn’t know anything about theory or why things are the way they are. He’s an expert and helps break things down in a way that made sense for my learning process and skill level (which is basically zero)
The best recording experience ever. Craig was really help to get my voice right, capture harmonies which I’ve never done in my life and accompany my instrumentals. Highly recommended.

Address: 550 15th St UNIT 102, San Diego, CA 92101 , San Diego , California , United States
Wonderful spot. Found some real gems on vinyl. Whenever I’m in SD, I’m stopping here.
Cool
Love love love! This is a great place to fill up your collection of old and new records. I could have spent hours days in this store. Caleb is absolutely great! Check ’em out!
I like this store. Great location (love the new space).
Accessibility: well right off the bat, the parking is a nightmare here. I looked for parking for one full hour until I found a spot about 3 or 4 blocks away and had to walk. As for getting inside, there is a pull door, then small inside, but a wheelchair could make it in.
Experience: besides the really bad parking, I loved this record store. They have older records and artists as well as newer ones from currently. From The Nujabees to Dua Lipa to death metal and classic jazz, they have it all.
Pricing: the newer artists and records are more expensive ($20-$50) and the older records are less expensive (a bunch of them $4).
Cool, tucked away shop that offers a decent, wide range selection. Heavy on modern sounds.
Not very friendly
This place just looks nice. Their records mostly were very expensive and very little to choose from. If you’re a true digger then stay away from here you’ll be very disappointed.

Great local record store. A hidden gem for record lovers and collectors of vinyl, tapes and vintage t-shirts. Friendly staff and you can custom order with ease and assurance. Recommended stop to buy vinyl, listen and discuss music.
Awesome selection and knowledgeable, friendly staff!
I’ve been a customer of Eric’s for almost a decade. From the University location to his new location. He’s got a great selection and if he doesn’t have it, he’ll order it for you. Super nice , yet professional.
Small room of a place, probably a couple of hundred records, tops. Not much space equals not much material. If folks are really saying, “Wow, I’ve never seen this much hip-hop selection in my life,” then it’s obvious they’ve never actually been to a record store. I feel for the owners, doesn’t look like there’s any room to expand. Still, not really worth the trip if you’re more than a mile from here.
Great hip hop cassette tapes and vinyl records
Fancy
The most expensive used records (that are not rare or hard to find or out of print) in the history of the world. There is no question that they will have any hip hop album you are looking for. But the average price for a used record is $65 and up. We aren’t talking about the first Beatles or Elvis album here. This is hip hop. Any true hip hop head should be outraged by these price. Unreal!!
8. Mark’s Guitar Exchange
Address: 3233 Midway Dr, San Diego, CA 92110 , San Diego , California , United States
Awesome experience with getting my Seagull acoustic guitar tuned up. The turn around time was way shorter than expected, and when I got it back they told me it was in decent shape so they reduced the price! I never got a guitar professionally set up before, and I can’t believe how well it plays now, like a different guitar. I will definitely be coming back, and recommending to my fellow guitar buddies.
Huge selection, nice guys, cant wait to get my next ukulele there!
Nice variety of everything.
Crowded but mostly friendly.

Cool place. Nice gear.
Came here while on vacation and wanted to check out some guitars in the area. Do NOT go here if you actually want to play an instrument that’s worth anything…
Super cramped place and was treated like a child when I wanted to take down a guitar. This was after discussing already owning a vintage instrument with a guy there…lol. Would not recommend if you actually want to play anything…otherwise you might as well be going to an art gallery.
Too much inventory on the floor makes it hard to navigate the room. The repairman had a rude retort to anything I inquired about and when I finally got the info I wanted (I just wanted to buy some strings) he goes into a dissertation on the packaging detailing cost and contents like I was a child. Will not recommended and will not spend another minute there.
Vanessa is a fantastic music instructor. She is well versed in classical music, jazz, and even blues. Her musical knowledge is extensive, and she will always listen with an open mind. She has a natural talent for instruction and a mind for understanding and answering the unusual questions that many people shut down as ‘not important’ or ‘weird’, but understands each student has to reach a goal in their own unique way, and does her best to help the students reach their goals, instead of putting all students through the same cookie cutter course. Could not recommend highly enough, and she has great people skills, which not all great musicians are blessed with, as well as being more than willing to work with students with difficult schedules. She truly loves music and teaching, which shows in every lesson in the most positive way.
For the past seven years I have consulted with Fountain of Harp, Vanessa Sheldon Fountain, regarding questions I have about harp. Her knowledge and expertise have been extremely valuable to me as I compose music. Her music theory knowledge is outstanding. Anyone who wants to further his/her/their knowledge of harp or rudiments of music would make a wise choice with Vanessa.
Dr.Vanessa Fountain was wonderful. She arrived on time and played beautifully. I would definitely use her services again.
10. Sam Ash
Address: 3418 College Ave, San Diego, CA 92115 , San Diego , California , United States
The Sam Ash in San Diego is light years ahead of any Guitar Center I’ve ever gone to in regards to customer service. After multiple HORRIBLE experiences with the Guitar Center in La Mesa I swore I’d never go back. Sam Ash was where I took my business. As a producer/performer and musician I have unique purchase needs and require specific information. When I’m dropping a lot of money on a purchase it’s awsome to have a staff of salespeople that aren’t pushy, yet knowledgeable and direct. Wess and the pro audio staff are all great. My only criticism is that they do not carry a huge stock in store, even for highly in demand items, so you end up having to wait for them to ship. Kinda blows to wait over a week for new toys when you spend a couple grand, but worth the sacrifice for the customer service.
Best music store in San Diego. Great selection and super helpful staff. Max was a big help in the drums section.
Great place to shop. Jeff in guitars is very helpful and knowledgeable.
They have a good selection of stuff, but everyone is either a punk rocker or a hipster. I don’t feel safe, but rather I feel intimidated when I go there.
Well I was in your store the other day just there to simply purchase some drum sticks and misc. items as well. But however you have employees that not to knowledgeable about drum and it assessories. On the other hand your store don’t sell bundles packs of drum sticks like Guitar Center dose. You only sale individual and yoi charge to much for one pair. Need to re evaluate your cost and prices.
Several friends and family members have purchased equipment from Sam Ash and my two children have just started taking piano lessons from Colin. It is always fun going in and my kids have a great time checking out all the instruments. I’ve been to other music stores where the employees were condesending and pretentious – not here! All the people I have encountered are friendly and very helpful.
If you’re a person of African decent don’t waste your time going here! I was highly disappointed w/ the lack of customer service I received on July 16th last night. The store was FAR FROM BUSY! And I received far below the expectation of standard customer service. I ended up buying online because the guy kept me waiting for 30mintues while he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT THE COUNTER HE WAS AT! And when I finally went back up to him because he was taking forever he said OH, OH let me check on that, well what were you doing this entire time while I watched you, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! So sad! That will be my last In store visit 🙁 ! Really nice stuff, horrible staff
Well i got scammed out of $1500 when i ordered the Adam a7x bundle. Only the Subwoofer was in the box, i waited months to open the box for a new studio so i guess its my fault but I contacted Nick Palumbo who helped me order it and i guess he does not work there anymore because i can’t contact him at all. Also currently scammed me out of a regent guitar case that was supposedly arriving early May. Speechless, what did i do to you? Nobody has contacted me for anything
Trust me just go to Guitar Center. Customer service sucks, I’ve spent thousands of dollars here but not here any longer. Their products they sell are all out dated. They have all the old versions of everything none of the new ones. Not spending a dollar at this place ever again!!! – Nick B.

Anna is very personable and humble. Beginning voice lessons for the first time can be very daunting and nerve-wrecking, but her being so matter-of-fact about the whole process makes it a whole lot less intimidating, which really made me feel comfortable about challenging my voice and putting in everything I got in me to get better and better! She’s very enjoyable and has a great sense of humor too!
I love my lessons with Anna and she really ignited my passion for learning to play the piano.
She is a talented professional musician herself so her technique is very refined.
She is always positive and supportive and makes it fun and simple — so you learn fast.
She also suggested that I should take singing lessons and I have seen a big improvement pertaining to my range in a short time.
Her professionalism is hard to find and she creates a friendly vibe while being in a comfortable atmosphere.
Highly recommend!
Anna is one of the most talented musicians I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Also a fun person to hang out with.. Amazing artist.
Received my Aquila Lava GCEA strings for my baritone and they sound great.
The UPTL Gotoh Uke Tuners I received from Terry Carter’s Music Store are fantastic! I even drilled larger holes in my Martin 2K Tenor uke to install these tuners. They streamline the look of the headstock, balance the instrument perfectly and provide uniform tension for pitch accuracy. Nothing wrong with guitar style tuners . . on Baritone ukes! For me, I prefer the Gotoh tuners on Soprano, Concert and Tenor ukes. Gotoh tuners are my “Go To” tuners. Service was great. Fast shipping. Highly recommended product and store.
Received faster than I expected & I love it!
Cool place to go look at music instruments
I ordered some heavy, Herco, guitar thumb picks. They are just what I needed and wanted. However, the ad made it sound like I would get a pack that included several picks, with different colors. I was very disappointed when they arrived and it was only 1 pack with 3 picks. I think $7.99 is pretty expensive for just 3 picks.
Order arrived as scheduled.
The shop is overpriced and the owner is shady as hell. If you even do the most basic of comparison shopping, you’ll see how much he’s trying to take advantage of ukulele players.
Carter’s NOT the only game in town and uke players deserve better.
Well product said ukelele humidification system and ended up just humidification pouches that are way too big for ukelele sound hole only able to put in case with instrument wasn’t really what I was looking for thought they’d be smaller I’ll use till I find something better like Dadario guitar type with humidity pouches shipping was kinda slow also I guess their a bit smaller than guitar ones not much though
it has been 6 days and I still have not received my strings I will never buy another thing from you I EVEN HAD TO PAY FOR SHIPPING! ! !

JCB Music is the safest and most secure place any person wanting to explore or expand their talent can enter. Craig Blaine’s only interest is to make you and your music all it can be. The atmosphere he has created and the person he is allows your creativity to flow and add his knowledge of music and recording to that mix and you will leave with an ability or finished song that will eclipse your wildest expectations.

JCB music it’s very welcoming studio and good place to record music with experienced producer.
I have been going to see Craig to record my projects for the last 6 months. I will not go anywhere else in San Diego, Ca.Craig is professional, patient and very efficient. I always feel comfortable in his studio and free to express my art without judgement or pressure. He is very flexible with time and works with your schedule. I would definitely recommend this studio to anyone who is serious about following their passion and creating projects that they can be proud of. Definitely getting a 5 star rating from me!
