Specialists with string instruments, luthiers, are getting harder and harder to find. Especially those that a restore and refinish vintage guitars and amplifiers.

Is this place still in business? I’ve tried to stop by 3x now. The sign in the (dirty) window says “open” but there were no lights on inside. I also can’t find any posted store hours. The store still looked stocked, however.

Joel fixed my acoustic electric guitar a few months ago that had some wiring issues, and he did it fast and the price was very reasonable. I’ve been wanting to use this guitar for the longest time at our church in San Pedro and now I can and it sounds great!

What an amazing record store! P M Sounds has curated a nice selection of jazz, funk, R&B, rock, etc. I’ll definitely visit again next time I’m in the area.
Mellow atmosphere
Great jazz selection. Earving is a really nice guy, knowledgeable and helpful. A staple in Old Torrance for many years, it’s worth a stop!
If you are looking for used vinyl, CDs, or cassette tapes, this is a great place to go. They have an impressive inventory of used media. I found several vinyls that I have not seen anywhere else. Their inventory is well organized, prices are very good, and the place has a great vibe. If you are looking for used media, I highly recommend you visit this friendly, unassuming shop.

I was in LA for the first time. Visiting my daughter who moved there. Found this record store on line. I am a life long record collector and mostly collect jazz. It is close to my daughters house. Also my girlfriend and I like to support Black owned businesses when possible. So this store seemed ideal. We got there on a Tuesday before 5, they state their hours are 12-6, they were closed with a sign saying they would be back Wednesday at 12. We couldn’t get back until Saturday. Saturday hours are posted online as 12-6. We got there at 12:10 they were closed. Went to a few thrift stores in the area, came back and they were still closed. My daughter checked social media nothing posted. So although the window displays are very cool and from what I could see looking in looked like a nice shop, I was disappointed. I would suggest you call before making a trip. I will return when I get back to LA, however they get 1 star on this trip.

Stopped by this shop after eating at The Whale and Ale down the street. The shop is filled with a large assortment of vintage books and records. The owner has a very nice NPR style voice and complimented me on picking up a used copy of The Canterbury Tales. This is a really good shop to scope out some vintage books and records and maybe chat a little with the owner.
Awesome store! I recently moved to San Pedro and stopped in here because I’m a book junkie. Chuck, the owner, was very polite and even gave me a discount on the two books I purchased! The books are in great condition and you can tell he doesn’t just pick up any old book. This is a great place to shop if you’re looking for some classic literature. I’ll definitely be back to add more to my collection.
Greetings were welcoming. The shop is beautiful and very clean. There’s so many things to look at. Wonderful books and things of interest. I love this place ❤️.
We were looking for a particular CD but they didn’t have it. The owner said he would try and find it. He takes a lot of interest in his business.
Closed an hour or more before posted time of 5pm. Drove here to check out all the shops in the area to see them all close hours early 🙁

Happened to catch that this cool little spot had opened up on Gaffey on my way home from grocery shopping (now that I’ve been getting out more with the pandemic easing off) and had to swing back by after dropping off at home.
Great selection and variety, great prices and the staff were very friendly. Willing to have a conversation as much as they were willing to let me kick back and dig. Very good vibes.
Hope to return soon! In my opinion a quality record shop like this has been missing from the Pedro area, especially with the re-rise in popularity of vinyl.

JDC is in old town San Pedro and is the nicest record store. They have everything you could want and the service is great.
Parking is free and easy on the street.
The service is just amazing. I was with my grandson and he wanted to buy some vinyl for his mommy was not sure what she would like. The woman who took care of us was so nice to him and they looked and looked and he noticed some covers with photos and recognized the artists–he is speech delayed–and pointed to those and the two of them made two great choices. His mommy was so pleased.
They also have CDs, cassettes, Tee shirts and other items.
The store is not huge, but big enough to find what you want and the prices are very reasonable.
We can’t wait to go back.

Pretty good selection here. Staff always nice and knowledgeable. Prices float towards the higher end, I’ve seen worse.

Music lessons with Mrs. Roxana during this pandemic have been invaluable for both of my kids. Mrs. Roxana is passionate about teaching music, her zoom lessons are organized, and she is determined in her teaching methods with both of my kids: piano and guitar! She’s always available via e-mail or text for any questions.

I love this studio…. . Nova Blisto and the whole Vision 415 team really helped me finish up a few songs that I was stuck on a few bars. Such a great experience!

Whenever I’m back in Cali… I will be recording at this studio… I loved it. Great vibe and talented engineers. I gave the 4 out of 5 stars because engineer didn’t have my file’s pulled up when I arrived for my session, but he did apologize…. and added an extra 30mins for free.

The studio is very nice and feels like home inside. Kyje is great to work with, he makes sure you sound as good as you possibly can and makes you feel comfortable to record in front of him if you are nervous to record. 10/10 recommend BlueWav Studio.
