Danny and Amy are a great team. I am positive you will be entertained and blessed by the work they do
Amazing performer! Still rocks the show!
2. Tuttle’s Seahorse Shell Shop
Address: 362 Periwinkle Way #3, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
I visited Tuttle’s Shop October of 2021 and after looking around at all the wonderful items for sale, I decided to buy a handmade bracelet by Pauline. When checking out Bob told me if I ever had a problem with it I could send it back in for repair at no cost. I thought wow that’s great, if this is true. Well let me tell you. I loved the bracelet and wore it every day. I got several compliments on the bracelet too. After about three months, one of the beads became loose and fell off. The bracelet needed repair. I contacted Tuttle‘s, and Bob told me sure, send in the bracelet and we’ll get it repaired. I sent the bracelet in along with my return address and waited for it to be repaired. It was gone a few weeks. I was beginning to wonder if it got lost in the mail or if I wasn’t getting it back. About three weeks later, the bracelet came back to me repaired beautifully with no charge. I can’t say anything but wonderful things about Tuttle’s Shop. For a small business to stand behind a bracelet, repair it, and return it is almost unheard of nowadays. I will definitely go back and visit the shop when I’m in Florida again and I would recommend you visiting their shop. I’m sure you can find something perfect with so many items to choose from.
Thanks Again
Nice place to get a souvenir when you visit the island.
Great to have local businesses open again. Friendly staff.
Tuttle’s gift shop is always an interesting stop when visiting. Unique gifts that you probably won’t find elsewhere and the old rock n’ roll vibe that greets you at the door. At the East end near Lighthouse Cafe.
Over priced for what they are selling. They have a big variety of gifts but the music and speaker for the restaurant next door are way too loud. Really busy due to the location so it’s kind of hard to look at things.
Very unfriendly. Took a moment from his personal phone call to yell at us for entering the store with ice cream. Here’s a tip – try putting up a sign in a prominent location if you forbid food and drink.
Owner can be a real treat. Grumpy old man syndrome. “Get off my lawn” = translates to buy or leave. Took all of our souvenir shopping to the store on the right (EMOcean beachwear) of Lighthouse restaurant. Much nicer service and treatment of their customers.
Not open after enjoying ice cream so went nearby shop. No reason for not being open.
3. BIG ARTS Sanibel
Address: 900 Dunlop Rd, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
An awesome center for the arts on Sanibel, offering a variety of classes throughout the year. Check their schedule of events for live shows, theater and concert performance.
Geocaching adventure log brought me here. Couldn’t go in for a tour due to being closed. But got the answer to my question. The grounds well maintained.
4. MacIntosh Books + Paper
Address: 2340 Periwinkle Way H-1, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
Cant find that local book you are looking for? Check out MacIntosh books! I am so impressed on what they have to offer in this great little spot on Sanibel Island! The staff is amazing and always helpful! You can catch one of your favorite authors here signing books several times a year! Make sure you check out the local authors you will be amazed!
Always love stopping by McIntosh’s when we are on Sanibel Island!
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Wrapped the book I purchased as a Christmas gift.
5. Sanibel Music Festival
Address: 2050 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
Cutest shopping center on Sanibel! Full of unique items – handpicked and curated gifts, clothes, jewelry, books etc. And, they are all women-owned boutiques. Come here for a special experience! Unlike any other shops on Sanibel.
Great haircut.
The Cioppino at T2’s is the best. I know everyone likes to eat outside, and there is plenty of outdoor seating. But indoor seating is very quiet especially before 5pm!
Food is delicious and the staff was fantastic.
Most of the shops were closed
Great tropical vibe. The stores/restaurants there are beautiful and upscale. Love the bookstore. Wish the shopping center was full. It’s such a pretty and tranquil location
We went for ice cream, I felt at home with the SU poster but there were not cones for ice cream and no malt for shakes.
7. Redbox
Address: 1700 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
Perhaps the last store on the islands to have remained true to their roots. High quality brands and fabulous style.
Was working down my list of usual stores and was becoming very disappointed as so many have just become high end t-shirt outlets.
How refreshing it was to walk into Adventures in Paradise and find island style clothing.
Made a modest purchase, but have my eye on a few more items….
Great variety of resort wear and regular stuff, love the tees
Good but very expressive
Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Willing to answer questions from first-time visitors. Store looked well stocked with island life clothing. Will likely return there on a future return trip.
I found them rude and the first to make me feel like I was there to steel from them. I walked out!
Very nice set-up.
But the prices scared us away sumthin seconds.
Day over priced.
Bad business! Not a good look for Sanibel Island.
9. Cadence Music, Inc.
Address: 5215 Ramsey Way, Fort Myers, FL 33907 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
A lot of instrument and accessories. Knowledgeable personnel.
I was looking for a flute and Todd had the flutes in stock that I wanted to try. He was extremely helpful on the phone. I went into the store and spent quite a bit of time playing them; they were very helpful and I was able to find a wonderful flute that I am so happy with. Their prices are very competitive. I really appreciate being able to buy my flute locally and help a local business.
Just had my instrument overhauled and and it’s better than new and a pleasure to play again.
I broke a clarinet and without a problem the next day Cadence Music picked it up and fixed it very fast about 4 days and while it was being fixed I got a loner…GREAT EXPERIENCE
They had what we were looking for and easy parking. I found the customer service average; clerks on duty seemed less than motivated to help.
I will say they have made an extrodianary effort to correct the issues we had. They have a fair rent to own program. The only reason I am rating 4 stars is because it did take some time. Overall make sure you are very clear what you want and what you will get
Be Very careful with this company. They charged me for a Rental on a snare drum that i never saw or even asked for. They said they delivered the drum to a Middle school for my son and the school knew nothing about a drum. Cadence then sent me to collections for $800.00, I found out about the drum from the collection company. FRAUD
The owner is extremely rude and the employees are incompetent. I usually go to Mostly Music in North Fort Myers because the owner is nicer and knowledgeable about all instruments. he is not just out to make a quick buck by ripping off students. I am going to try First note in the Cape next because I heard, from a music teacher, they are less expensive and more honest than Cadence.
I had my oboe fixed there about a month ago and when I got it back it was still broken and it cost $150 originally for them to do nothing to it, but on the bright side they polished the keys so then it made it look like they actually fixed my instrument
10. Pandora’s Box
Address: 2015 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
A delightful assortment of treasures! Lovely jewelry and art imcluding whimsical glass jellyfish. A must-see for a keepsake or thoughtful gift
Amazing place for beautiful things.
This is a magical, special store that is a must stop for shopping for that perfect find.
Very nice store for jewelry and trinkets, staff is friendly and helpful. Took off one star just because how expensive it is, not just the jewelry but everything in the store. For instance a Santa ordiment is over $45 and a box with a shell on it is $70!
Fewer choices compared to years ago
A great selection of vintage and artisan jewelery and decor. Eclectic and interesting, I would recommend stopping by to check it out.
The lady working there was rude. Would not recommend this place.
Nice shop, we have been there many times in the past years. This year we purchased a couple of pieces of jewelry (Michou). Later we looked the artist up on line and realized we paid about double the retail price. Buyer beware I guess, you can’t trust anyone.
Super rude salesperson.. plenty of other places to shop if you’re going to treat customers like that
11. JRod’s Surf Fish and Style
Address: 630 Tarpon Bay Rd, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
We ate at cheebuger cheebuger.
It’s was good burger. And good service
Great little shops. Pretty things to look at.
We ate at CheeBurger CheeBurger here. Awesome burgers
clean shopping center, accessible bathrooms and beautiful garden areas to sit.
We ate at the diner, food was not cooked as ordered, not hot, water has off flavor, would not go again
You’re on an island dependent upon the tourist trade, to a large degree, yet only open until 5 and closed on the weekend. At least, according to Google. Seems quite limited.
A rather sad, disappointing outdoor shopping strip in which most of the shops are either closed or completely out of business.
Save your time and head elsewhere, nothing worth seeing here as there are only about 5 or 6 open shops out of dozens of closed shops located in the plaza. If there is a particular shop you are interested in and know it is located in this plaza then its an easy in and easy out venture.
15. Why Knot Sanibel
Address: 2340 Periwinkle Way # B1, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
Always a visit to Why Knot! The best clothing store on the island. I always looked forward to going.
I LOVE this store, the great people working there, and the clothes are wonderful. Hoping you’ve recovered!!!
I love this shop. They have top quality clothing. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. I have been coming to this shop for 15-20 years, and what I said above has always been the case. It’s one of the fist places I stop when I get to Sanibel Island.
Nice clothing, a bit snooty.
16. Traders Restaurant on Sanibel
Address: 1551 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957 , Sanibel , Florida , United States
The white gazpacho is the best thing on the island! It’s very unique, and I would never have thought it could work. I’ve never been disappointed in anything at Traders!
Great Salmon
Head hostess somewhat haughty.
Great food. The bartender was very chatty and was also very attentive. We were there for lunch and the food was excellent. The lunch crowd was a little older but there were young children there as well. They also have a gift shop/boutique with some interesting items. Overall it was relatively quiet at lunch but we would return.
This is a nice restaurant. But to me the food is just ok. Service was good and friendly. But the food wasn’t bad , just kind on lacking for the price. For 2 people no drinks just over $100.
We are annual visitors to Sanibel and have tried several restaurants. The fish and service was ok. The side dishes with the entrees were fresh out of the freezer and strictly hospital food. Also, the food was just about cold. Worst meal on Sanibel for as long as I can remember.
They need Gordon Ramsay!
Please RUN!!! Been comming to Sanibel for 30 years now, 2018, 2019, Best place on the island!!! last year we noticed a drastic change for the worse, but blamed it on covid which is totally understandable. Tonight we went to give it another try, (It was our favorite place to go). Right away People behind the Bar complaining they only had half bottles of liquor not sure how it would last the night. My wife and i were the only two customers there. Long story short we received our food i had a cheese burger, and my wife had mussells only given a gram cracker slice of garlic bread. We would always have been offered as much bread as you could eat in a flash. When my wife asked for some more they said we will have to put it in the oven first, (REALLY)! The minute we received our food the same waiter started sweeping the floor, So bad i had to tell him to stop, once again (Really)!!! No Manager there, or at all. It was such a great place to go and hang out. Traders has completely Flatlined with no defibulator in future site,
We have been on the island for a week and come every year. Traders was one of the few restaurants we had yet to try. We arrived a little late, about 40 minutes before 9:00 but there were still plenty of people in the dining room and the door said open until 9:00pm. Walking in, the hostess didnt give us the choice of sitting in the dining room. She sat our party of 4 at a small table in the corner of the bar. Our waitress, whom I would name if she had told us, asked us if we were ready to order 4 different times in the first 5 minutes of being there. She then informed us she is only asking so much do that she doesnt have to tell us they are closing the kitchen on us. She was very abrasive and rude and the service went downhill from there. She was very awkward and made us feel very uncomfortable being there. She hovered over the table at times creating an awkward experience. The food was very good but once again, when it came time to pay, the waitress’s attitude was unbearable. After asking to speak to a manager, her attitude got very snotty and she informed us Traders does not have a manager and that the staff runs the restaurant. After talking to the chef he informed me to call the owner the next morning, which I intend on doing. Its a shame, with a better staff, this restaurant would have been great. By far the worst restaurant experience I have had on Sanibel Island.
This store is great. Plenty of choices & very knowledgeable staff. Definitely better than the larger music stores.
The visit to this store was pleasant and informative. The staff was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend Total Music to anyone interested in music equipment.
Epic gang
Completely trash, walked in looking for the Kanye West The College Dropout on vinyl, would’ve thought Total Music Source would have it, WRONG. Not only did they not have it, but an associate, I think his name was Paul, told me “Why would you ever listen to Kanye West, who ever listens to them doesn’t know music.” Terrible customer service!!
Not open
Pretty unhelpful on the phone, like I was bothering him at his own job. Would be great if some of these local music stores would have hours outside of a standard job and weekend hours to support all the local musicians.
Amy’s is amazing. Their sales personal is helpful but not high pressure. Kind but not gushing and highly knowledgable about the products they sell. They have high class, one of a kind items. This shop is certainly worth visiting.
I love Amy’s!!
