This is a great little local music store. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I’ve never felt rushed like some places.

I was with a friend buying strings
Dropped off a American Fender Strat Highway One HSS to get set up and get a fresh set of string. They lowered the action to low so now I have fret buzz on the low E just picking the string and fret buzz all the way down the neck on the low E and the A string. Pickups are way to low still. The bridge (closest to neck) pickup on the low E side is almost flush with pick guard still. Mid pickup is in the same place, and the pickup on the humbucker closest to the tremolo is still tilted at an angle. The tremolo is almost completely flush with the guitar. I can lift the whammy bar maybe a 1/4 inch at best before its flush with the guitar with no more room to work. And, as far as pushing it down maybe an inch before I start to feel to much tension. I’ve seen on line where people have a whole lot more give on the whammy bar almost being able to push it as far down where its nearly touching the guitar.
My one time teacher could teach the basic but did not know how to play on my instrument. The owner charged me for a whole month of lessons for my one time lesson. Did he need the money that bad?

ARC Music and Sound is the best place to get setup work done, to get lessons, or just to see what new and interesting guitars and basses Nate brings into the shop. Since relocating from New Jersey two years ago, I trust no one to work on my vintage guitars but Nate. His setup work is impeccable, he always has great recommendations for string types, turnaround time is very quick, and he is extremely knowledgable in all things music.
ARC Music is also a great place for lessons. Nate is a skilled and patient guitar teacher. I’ve played “by ear” for nearly 30 years, but Nate figured out a way to work with me so I could begin to understand the importance of scales and theory and not simply rely on muscle memory.
If you live in and around the Gulf Breeze area, be sure to visit ARC Music and Sound. You’ll be glad you did!
Nate is always awesome to talk to.. took about 6 lessons and got significantly better in a short amount of time.. Definitely recommend stopping by this little shop!
Has everything you need and friendly atmosphere
I’m honestly shocked at all of the good reviews this place has. This is a guitar shop, not so much a versatile music shop as I had originally anticipated; and they let that be known as soon as I started to inquire about flute accessories and information. The guy was unfriendly and short saying, “we really only work on guitars here” and seemed disingenuous and annoyed that I was even there asking about stuff for a flute. I’m appreciative that I was able to leave with a little something of a cleaning kit but, I have never felt so unwelcome in a shop like that before and will not be going to this “music store” again. They should probably change the sign to “guitar store” in the near future to avoid anymore awkward, uncomfortable encounters.
They’ve been in business in Fort Walton as long as I can remember. Great business.

Staff were very professional while still having that “coolness”. I understand the business caters more to the school band type of customer but the $1,000+ guitar i picked up to try was in rough shape. Dusty and strings were just old. Made me not only want to hang it back up and NOT plug it in and play but definitely not buy it. Imagine a car lot selling dirty cars, not easy to sell if the experience isn’t pleasant. Let me come and be your guitar guy! I have some suggestions and i know i would sell some guitars
Brought a guitar and wiring harness in back in June. The guitar needed a fret job and I wanted the harness installed. They said they didn’t have someone in their staff could work on it, but one of their teachers can. I left it with them. A MONTH LATER, I got tired of waiting and came in to ask the progress. They messaged the teacher and then he messaged me. According to him, they never told him he was to work on it, so a month of NOTHING happened.
Two weeks later, the guitar is supposedly done. Me thinking my patience has finally paid off, took it home to play around with it. The frets were fine. The wiring was absolutely abysmal. The neck volume still sent signal despite the switch being on the bridge setting and on 0. The bridge volume became insanely bassy rolled off. I figured that was the fault of the company that made the harness, so I took it back and they messaged the teacher. He later messaged me and came across as standoffish. Claimed he spent 4 hours checking the results.
After a while, they told me either the company who sold it screwed it up or it was like that “by design” (i.e. not their fault). I asked if they could adjust or rework it to see if they can fix it.
I wait a week later and call back in to ask the progress. They told me they guy that was meant to work on it had been gone for a week due to tragic circumstances. I would have been inclined to believe them if the news weren’t delivered to me like a middle schooler being asked to read from a textbook. I decided to take my guitar back because I didn’t want this headache anymore.
I PAID $400+ DOLLARS AND WAITED ALMOST TWO MONTHS FOR THIS BOTCH JOB. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. You’ll honestly have better luck doing it yourself.
I avoid normally avoid this music store unless i have an emergency repair on one of my guitars. The customer service is pretty bad. normally i get ignored when i walk in without any acknowledgement. Do not come here for guitars or drums. They have Fender and Epiphone products. That’s it. Although they are a licensed Jackson retailer, they carry only 1 or 2. They have 3 drum sets with a good selection of cymbals. If they had decent customer service i would say that it would be an average music store. Until then, go to guitar center instead.
Took bass to find a part told them I only wanted them to find said part not fix or place they never called me to tell me the price or if they found it came back and turns out they stuck the part on without my authorisation and then proceeded to charge me 53 with out ever giving me a quote for it or telling me the price for the part will never go back hope no one else gets screwed over by these con people worst experience i have ever had

I came to the store looking for some help on purchasing my first violin, I ended up getting snubbed. I was trying to get some general information on purchasing and what I needed, instead I was told at least 3 times how expensive they were. I was deffinetly judged upon walking in the door, as it was I had just returned from a trip and did not feel I needed to dress up to go into a music store. In the end I am glad I had this experience because it allowed me the opportunity to find another business that was actually customer service oriented, and was not judgmental. I am now on my second violin and enjoying every minute of it, no thanks to this store.

MRW Artisan is the place to go for ALL your woodwind needs. Not only is Dylan proficient in playing woodwinds, he’s a master at cleaning, tuning, and repairing them. His one on one instruction has been very beneficial for my daughter, who is in concert & marching band. The care he takes with each clarinet is beyond any service we’ve received from your run of the mill music stores, as he is thorough in his assessments & repairs. Dylan has definitely earned our business with his personalized care & incredible customer service! And also…you should hear him play!

Cool people, subpar service. I sent a saxophone in for repairs at the beginning of April. They said it would be $120 and take roughly two weeks. Sounds good to me. Two weeks later and they haven’t even started on it. I finally get a text message at the beginning of May notifying me of my saxophone being ready. The total has been raised to $150 without warning. Friendly staff, especially the guitar techs but probably won’t go there with another repair.
Let me start by saying, this is the first bad review I have ever given anyone. My experience yesterday at Blue Angel was horrible. I drove an hour to get a guitar after having a 15 minute conversation with one of the sales associates on the phone to make certain the guitar was there. I had the guitar on back order from sweetwater and it was gonna be a few months to wait for it. I called blue Angel to see if they could give me the same deal and told me yes they could and even give me 5% off. So, I drove to pick it up and the associate by the name of Jacob I believe told me that “there must have been a misunderstanding “ I made certain the details were clear before driving out there. Jacob told me, I wouldn’t be getting the 5% off and also the tunning peg locks would also not be thrown in either “as we’re promised to match the deal with sweetwater” He was very condescending on talking to me and unapologetic. So, I would recommend Sweetwater or even guitar center , at least they have good customer service, rather than just standing behind a desk being rude to customers. I can understand if the deal could not be done due to a mistake or a misunderstanding but I made sure it was clear on the phone and it’s not an excuse to be rude and unapologetic of someone’s time.
This store has been around for a long time, I have gone many times and have purchased quite a few pieces of gear. The last few years though I have received terrible and condescending service from the employees, especially Jacob, blonde hair with glasses. Jacob has actually tried to talk me out of purchasing items on several occasions. When I bought my PRS he asked repeatedly why do I need a full scale? Why would that matter, I’ve played guitar for years I know what I want, that is why I picked that guitar, “NOT” because I want to be questioned by some music store clerk. Thanks for your condescending opinions Jacob, because of you this business has lost a loyal customer…

I’ve been looking into making the switch from guitar to violin for years, but never made the change. This afternoon I went to Guitar Center to see what they had in stock. While the store only keep one model in stock, Kel immediately informed me that they could order one to the store if I wanted a different model. I decided to go with the one in stock due to impatience, but the staff is very friendly, multiple team members were quick to offer help as I looked around, and made what had been a years long internal struggle an easy, painless process
Staff is knowledgeable, store is well organized and clean. I just wish they had a larger selection.
If you’re looking to buy any kind of music equipment this is the place you want to look. Not only do they have a ton of different products to choose from, you can actually try out and play most of them right there in the store before paying. It’s really a blast being able to go around and test out different instruments you had always wanted to try. I will say that the prices are pretty steep on most everything in the store, but they are willing to negotiate or match another store’s price. Definitely the place you want to be if you like music, you just have to make sure your wallet is pretty thick.
Music associated misc items
Walked in ready to make an expensive purchase. Not a single employee even looked up. One guy was too busy drumming on a pad at the front, another guy was talking to what I thought was a customer. Turned out it was just two employees talking. Guess I’ll just buy it online
Waited 20 minutes for an associate to check for strings as I watched him help 3 people with their purchases before me while he was “looking.” Spoiler alert — didn’t have my strings.
I went there because their website said they had several brands onhand which their competitor did not. Their selection was terrible, and I had trouble holding the attention of a salesperson. When finally I did pin one down, it took over a half hour to get them to order an instrument off their own online site. The salesman said to expect a week for delivery. I asked that it be delivered to the store, so they could check it for defects and set it up. The receipt said to expect 7-10 days. It’s been 10 days, and it’s still not at the store. I expect another day after it finally arrives, for set up; but wouldn’t be surprised if it takes a week. Avoid them, ever after.

He was very easy to communicate with via text and without a lot of direction from us he was able to read the crowd and flow of the evening.
