Great music store. I play the guitar and they have a good selection of guitars, amps, and pedals.
I just wish they had Gibson guitars but that’s pretty much out of their power so no fault to them.
I contacted Chesbro through email looking for a guitar for my son to start guitar lessons with. Chris was super helpful and got us what we needed. The shipping was fast and the guitar was packaged very well. My son loves his guitar and is excited to learn on it!
They had amazing set up, music stock, instrument stock, and friendly people. Great place to go for most music needs. Repair for instruments is around the corner, though.
Very nice place
Friendly service had what I was looking for
I went there, asked to borrow a guitar cable, and the old guy there said “what for?” After explaining the obvious, he said he didn’t want me playing anything unless I was going to buy something. He then tried to force me to use an amp that I didn’t want to use. After he walked away, I plugged into the tube amp that I wanted to use. He then came back and told me that I wasn’t allowed to play any of the tube amps that were out for people to try. My question is this: why have the tube amps out on the showroom floor if people aren’t allowed to try them? I’m never coming back.
Not thrilled at all with the service of piano, lessons 110.00 a month for a child only, once a week totally outrageous. Piano gallery was way, cheaper and nicer .
I would never shop at this store, I made the mistake of signing my son up for their rental program which is nothing more than a high interest, high harassment loan scam. These guys are a complete joke. The complete lack of customer service, along with the harassing phone calls, and creepy home visits are enough for me to contact law enforcement. DO NOT give this company your business!

I had Rick set up my guitar. He did a Fantastic job. Fast and reliable. One day service. I would Recommend him all who needs guitar service. AAA++++
Rick is a great guy, and there’s always a gem or two hanging on the wall. Good prices, too!
Last Saturday I took my most prized possession to Rick, I paid to have a set up and new strings put on my Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute pro. When I got it home I pulled it out and wanted to play it. I noticed right off the bat that Rick took a Utility knife or some other tool and shaved off the binding all around the fret board The fret board has gouges all the way around and the frets stick out and gouge your fret hand when you try to play it. My guitar is completely ruined! I haven’t slept in several days I’m so pissed. I in no way implied, asked for or mentioned that he do this to my guitar. I can’t even open the case it makes me so sick! I would not recommend Rick to anyone again. Rudy Rodriguez Nampa Idaho
3. Mike’s Music
Address: 2455 N Yellowstone Hwy, Idaho Falls, ID 83401 , Sarāqib , Idaho , United States
Great selection and good prices especially for guitars and associated equipment. Very helpful staff.
Great service and help when we have questions.
I bought some cymbals here a few years ago. They are a great music shop and have a great selection of percussion instruments. The staff is very friendly and the store has a comfortable atmosphere.
ok shop but nofenders or gibsons to name afew midrange to entry level gutairs good shop for first time buyers
Great store, very knowledgeable folks and informed!
Knowledgeable and friendly. A good selection of acoustic guitars and ukuleles
I been going here for the years. I’m done. Instruments are old and well used. We’re have had issues with everything: from picking up an instrument that stays out of tune to, picking up an instrument that the string breaks when tuning it prior to playing, getting a cello bow for a viola, handle falling off a case, and Most recent, trying to put a violin g string on as the viola a string. I’m going elsewhere. Encourage others to do the same.
Only buy stuff when certain people around, won’t be back
I was given 2 piano books for my birthday and I need the easy print books…so I asked my friend where he bought them..Mike’s music….so I went in and tried to exchange….said not unless I had e a receipt… its NOT like anyone gives the receipt with a birthday gift!!! What a jerk….I wont go back EVER
Great store with nice people brought home a seagull s6 original yesterday it’s fantastic I love it
Great service.
Love these guys. Very reasonable for some repairs I needed on 2 of my guitars. They know what their doing. Next week I’ll be leaving a 3rd guitar with them to make some necessary adjustments. Just plain nice people. Very down to earth guys.
Really good but switched my sax mouth piece for clarinet mouth piece
The music store to go to!
bought nice drum for great price. thanks 🙂
Staff helped, but it felt like I was bothering him. The only instruments for sale were on consignment. They had a few new instruments mainly guitars and bass. It was darkish. This wasn’t the music store I remembered has a child. And it breaks my heart, at least they had a flute cleaning rod that I needed.
I have been a loyal customer and supporter of this local business for years. However my experience there for the past several years has been less than satisfactory. I have been made to feel as if I were a nuecense there by one of the shop owners I believe.
Unless this man is just a disgruntled employee which is the vibe that he puts out each and every time I have been there during the past several years.
I have never gone there only to browse and play instruments. I only go there to purchase musical items and support local business as I strongly believe in doing so being a small business owner myself.
This man puts out a vibe so foul and offensive that I vowed not to patronize this place ever again solely because of this.
This man acts as if he’s been awakened by a door to door solicitor at his home each and every time I have shopped there.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I will probably make this complaint known elsewhere so that the local public can be aware.
If one is either a proprietor or an employee at any establishment where intimate customer service is the foremost priority and that individual is vicious and repulsive with an obvious disgust for customers than they need not pursue that career any longer.
I have shared my honest feelings about this. THANK you for the platform
Bad experience
6. MusiCare
Address: 391 W Broadway St, Idaho Falls, ID 83402 , Sarāqib , Idaho , United States
Quick turnaround knowledgeable friendly. Wasn’t cheap but seemed to be a good value
I was so incredibly impressed and charmed by this shop and its owners! Purchasing a new instrument here was not just a transaction. The owners truly care about what they do and want you to love your new instrument and be successful. They are definitely not just in it for the money. I don’t think they would have let us leave without feeling absolutely satisfied that we knew what we were doing when it comes to my son’s new oboe. Knowing that the oboe is finicky and not a super common choice, they spent extra time (basically a mini-lesson) teaching us both how to assemble the oboe, care for the reeds, clean the oboe, and they helped my son play his first notes. Getting a new instrument is such a special time, and they treated that moment the way it should be, enhanced it, even. Thank you so much for sharing your passion with us! It was our first time, but you’ve made us customers for life!
Awesome service. Very informative
Just a little expensive but they had what we needed
The guy that was working there was not very friendly but they got the job done
They had what I needed
7. Gig’s Music
Address: 611 N Orchard St, Boise, ID 83706 , Sarāqib , Idaho , United States
I went into Gigs Music back in September and was pleasantly surprised. A friendly gentleman approached and was extremely helpful. It’s now December and I’ve been back àt least 30 times or more. Their prices are more than reasonable. The service is superb which makes it a even better experience. All in all on a scale from 1to 10 I give Gigs Music an easy 9 1/2. That’s how impressed I am
~ Dave Robinette.
It took a while to get parts for my amp shipped in but Andy kept in touch and did an amazing job. Purrs like a kitten now. Won’t take my gear anywhere else.
My daughter started 5th grade band today and we had no idea how to work with her school-issued tenor sax. The guys at Gig’s knew exactly what she needed and even took the time to teach her a few things. She left there feeling confident and supported. We’ll definitely be returning.
Good shop. Needs more stuff.
The store is small, and the selection of instruments is not exactly large. Chances are, you’ll only find between 3 and 5 bass guitars for sale. There is usually an adequate amount of electric guitars to browse through though. Also, a fairly good selection of acoustic guitars. And, you’ll probably find some other instruments, like cigar box guitars, ukes and banjos.
If you are looking for used instruments and good deals, I think Gigs is worth visiting.
Andy, the store’s proprietor, is friendly, quite helpful, and easy to talk to. Several musicians I’ve talked with say he is a very good guitar tech.
There are one or more guitar teachers working there. I heard one was quite good, but I can’t remember his name, sorry. The teacher or teachers work with both adults and kids.
The worst thing about the store is sometimes people smoke in there. I don’t like being in an enclosed environment in which people are smoking. I tend not to stay long when I smell cigarette smoke. That’s just nasty, and discourages business.
If this store sold more bass guitars, and if no one ever smoked inside, I’ve be giving Gigs a 5 star rating instead of 4.
Great help and service. Instruments were priced Right and in great condition for being used.
Went by to sell a couple guitars and amps on a Saturday. Hours on the door say they open at 11, but it was 1115 and noone was there. Another customer in the parking lot told me that “sometimes this just happens” and said he texted the owner to see when they were coming. At 1130 we both left. Follow the hours you show.
Egh. A big, mostly empty space filled with pawn shop guitars, dusty packs of new old stock strings, and rack gear from 1991.
Ordered a Christmas gift for my husband from this place last year, and I’m still waiting. I called them 3 times about it and was told it was on order and they would call me. Never received a call. Very unprofessional. I believe in shopping local, but not at this Boise business.
8. Discount Music Supply
Address: 5380 E Seltice Way STE C, Post Falls, ID 83854 , Sarāqib , Idaho , United States
Very friendly environment. Good place to buy strings, drum heads, picks and they have instruments for a decent price to!
I bought a discounted guitar for $79.it was on sale normally $129.
The owner was a pleasant fellow who was very helpful.
I had gotten my daughter a violin for Christmas and she had a broken string… I know nothing about instruments Terry was very helpful and installed the string and everything for free very good customer service!! I will be going back for sure… customer service like that is few and far between.
Needed strings. Good selection. Manager willing to help find anything you may need.
Good deals decent service.
This is the soul of music place…
It’s really too bad these geniuses have the most ridiculous hours of operation. Tried to explain to their feeble minds that people that can afford to spend money on musical instruments are WORKING for a living. Nobody is going to take time off of work to go shop at this place. Open at a decent hour and I’ll shop there. In the last 4 1/2 years, I’ve spent approx. $5,000.00 ELSEWHERE as a direct result of their terrible hours. This I must say is regrettable as I would much prefer to keep the money here in Post Falls. Note: I’ve heard these jokers complaining that sales are very poor at that store. No wonder.
I made the drive out here from spokane based on reviews I thought it would be worth it to check it out. I got there at 3:44 and it was closed. I understand it’s in a sort of secret place but if you’re gonna close early you should maybe close around half an hour early rather than nearly an hour and a half early.
I am on tour with my band, and I am in dire need of some new sticks. We call the store around 5:30 pm to ask them when they close. They close at 6pm and we tell them we are on our way right then. Get there at 5:45 pm and they are closed. I mean, no one there, they counted out, gone. I know many musicians who tour around the area often and I have told them to NOT go to this store. Go to Burts.
9. Dunkley Music
Address: 1160 Blue Lakes Blvd N, Twin Falls, ID 83301 , Sarāqib , Idaho , United States
Always have what I need at the best price. The staff is friendly, and helpful as well. Definitely recommend for any instrument needs.
Have nothing but great review. Excellent equipment. Great service with guys who JAM! Love my new AJ and epi !
Went in today and were helped by Jason and Tony, I am a novice and could have easily been taking advantage of. They were both so helpful and most importantly honest! I left with a fixed amp, a tuned guitar and a new guitar stand, I was only charged for the new stand and a good price for that. I will be a customer for life.I plan on upgrading and when I do I will only go here! Thanks again guys!
10. Guitar Center
Address: 5761 Fairview Ave, Boise, ID 83706 , Sarāqib , Idaho , United States
does not have the Best Vybz it’s definitely a branch of a corporate company however the staff is helpful although it always feels like they’re trying to sell you something you definitely can go in there and test any product you want and ask questions about different products they’re always happy to help you out and usually are able to match the best prices around!
Some of the best new instrument selections in the entire state.
I purchased my first and second guitar from them during high school. Later on I went back to sell one back to them. The manager said he couldn’t find a record of my purchase, or the serial number on their system, and accused me of stealing the guitar and trying to pawn it off. I’ll never buy anything from that location again.
I love Guitar Center. Over the years, I’ve spent tens of thousands at their stores and online. What I don’t care for is the Boise GC. The employees are pretty good but I think the management kind of, well, they’re not good. I get the feeling the managers turn up their noses at Epis and Squiers if you try and trade them in, they act like they’re being put out by buying your guitar and then selling it for twice what they paid you.
They need a bigger location. Boise is populated enough to support a larger store if management didn’t work so hard at chasing away customers.
Went in to get my guitar restrung and tuned and nobody that worked there could help me .
