Savannah Guitars is a great little shop with friendly and knowledgable owners and repairmen. They work on both electrics and acoustics. Support this place!
Great guys and a well-stocked store!
The owner with the mutton chops is a character right out of a cartoon. I’ve caught him out gigging a time or two and he sings and plays well, but don’t ask him to play Margaritaville cause he’s no parrot-head. He’d rather groove to some Dead tunes or pick a bluegrass song or two. I ordered some “air guitar” strings and a Tee Shirt to show my support for his fine establishment a couple months ago. The Tee shirt is well made and fits well, tight in the arms and shoulders and leaves some room around the belly (for a guy a little overweight). The strings were everything I needed to get me through an old Van Halen video from the 80’s cranked up to 10 that I jammed out to in the garage. What’s great is that if you break a string, the replacements are free!!! (haha).

Extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Top notch establishment. Looking forward to returning
Dying breed of business, found my everclrar CD album for my truck, car wash broke off my antenna so so 90 alt rock w/o commercials it is for my road trips
Great place. Great people. Great music available ✔✔
Got a super clean copy of Armed Forces on vinyl and I really enjoyed digging through the crates! Usually, when I visit a record store on vacation, it’s not everything I hope for. Rody’s was great, though. They have a nice selection of Record Store Day selections on hand as well. Groovy!
My husband is an audio file and got 3 albums.
Good selection but pricier than some places I have been to when looking for vinyl and cds.
Went on record store day. One of the workers brought his dog into the store unleashed and let it roam around. This is unsafe and unacceptable.
A customer asked about the Taylor Swift single that was a record day exclusive. One of the workers said it was in a back room when it was at the front counter.
The owner is untrustworthy, makes false promises and does not follow through on things. I suggest taking your business elsewhere instead of terrible run, shady business.
Edit: the comment made by The staff member is straight up lies. The person who brought the dog in was not a customer as they went into a he back and then came back and went behind the counter. The dog was NOT on a leash.
Further more to elaborate on the shadiness, the store claimed to be giving a copy of a limited edition single to the highest bidder who commented. My partner was the highest bidder and was never contacted. What a scam.
record store is cool but i went in their for vape juice, the vape juice is extremely expensive. $25 before taxes for a 60ml bottle. I understand they got rent to pay but good God lol
If my vinyl collection is worth what these guys think their vinyl is worth…then I am sitting on a $150k worth of records. Gi e me a break.
7. Thorough Entertainment
Address: 310 E Montgomery St, Savannah, GA 31406 , Savannah , Georgia , United States
It was great and being a DJ… I learned at the same time!
Went in with a few questions. Talked to Erik Santos, a brilliant man who knows his stuff. Left in under 20 minutes with everything I needed and more. Great store, great service. Thanks Erik!
(Purchased a $50 mixer and 1/4in to RCA adapters)
Kaityln was awesome! I had a trumpet that had an issue. She quickly realized the problem and fixed it in a few seconds. Although I had turned the valves myself trying to make it work. She knew exactly what to do. There was no charge. THANK YOU KAITLYN!!!!
It’s the vibe of any typical music store, however they were very well-stocked very helpful to my needs – if not overbearing at some times. They had a wide range of products (but not really). If you like music, this is a store.
Cashier is great! Theon too busy at his computer to help you. Unless you are buying something
Show up at 7:00 p.m. right at closing and they won’t sell me an external sound card in an emergency. Dude is right at the door just too lazy to sell it to me. You won’t get any more of my business. Edit: management has reached out to me in a very friendly manner and apologized for this situation. Thank you.
Do not trust these people with your sensitive personal information such as SSN’s DOB’s etc… They have a disgusting disregard for security of sensitive information. I got a call from Mrs Portman asking where to send a sensitive document. I called her back and provided my current mailing address. She called me back acknowledged she received my message (containing my current address) and told me she was mailing it to my OLD address. She either is spiteful or has dementia. I called her back TWICE asking her where she mailed it. And again EACH TIME providing my current address for a total of 3 times. Each time SPELLING MORRO BAY!!! I NEVER got a call back apologizing for mailing it to my old address the FIRST time. I had to go to my old address and ask the new residents for it. Then they mailed out a second copy to my current address. This seriously made me laugh so hard I dropped the document when I received it in the mail. After giving them my address 3 times and spelling Morro Bay 3 times. They still mailed it to the nonexistent Laurel Bay California.. it’s not even a real city. Absolutely pathetic… How hard is it to spell MORRO BAY after I left 3 messages spelling out the name… Absolutely comically pathetic.
Will actively screw you out of money. A friend of mine and I went here to sell multiple guitars that we worked on and improved. After checking the prices of our guitars on “EBay” they lowballed us on prices. One of the particular guitars my friend was selling happened to be an 8 String Ibanez, with active EMG Pickups and a Gator case to go with it. All together worth around 1200-1300$ after checking EBay for stock standard used prices they return with the offer of 350$ that along with the two other guitars worth about 400-500$ used he walked out with about 600$ on a check that isn’t cashable at any WalMart or Kroger in the area. As of my guitar they snubbed their nose. Whilst “appraising” the guitars they sound checked it and showed a lack of knowledge of the items that they are “trained” to sell. This place is a joke to the musician and should be avoided. I would rather purchase items online and wait than visit them again.
Went in for a few items, was ignored by 3 “salesmen” who were chatting amongst themselves. Cashier rang up my items and took my money without speaking. Not my first bad experience,
I’ve had here. Previously I wanted to test and compare a couple guitar pedals and the salesmen told me I didnt need what I wanted… Next time I’ll just find another local store or just order online.
I needed to purchase a couple items from guitar centers used section on their website. I called the store on the local level to make sure that the items were clean, in good condition, had their power cords, USB cords, etc. before I purchased them. KEONTE had me covered and inspected both items thoroughly, replaced a cord that was missing and “cradle to graved” to the whole transaction with a positive attitude and great attention to customer care. Made sure everything was in order with a call back before I pulled the trigger. Great job KEONTE! Guitar Center needs more employees like you nationwide!!!
Nice place, lots of items in stock to try out. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. My go to place in the local area.
Love doing business here. Trey and his team are really top notch. All very professional. All very friendly.
Large clean store with lots of musical instruments and accessories!
I’m really glad I went here. Bought my first guitar from this store on opening day. The employees there were extremely helpful and kind. Though opening day was indeed hectic, everyone kept a very calm composure.
Keep in mind though, Portman’s Music Superstore is practically next door. The competition is obvious, and Portman’s is a really good place too, so if you don’t find what you’re looking for at GC, check with your neighbor Portman. 😉
Great little place for music equipment or gadgets but there a little pricey
It’s kinda pathetic they opened right next to a local music store right when the latter was picking up some business after the pandemic. Didn’t they find any other place to open up? Pathetic.
I called about the Arturia microfreak (great synth) and the guy on the phone was pretty rude—clearly he was peeved that I didn’t just trust the website. When I arrived, 5 or 6 staffers were all hanging out behind the front desk, having a great time bantering, and were annoyed when I asked about the synth. One of the staffers reluctantly and lazily motioned to where they were in the store with some vague, technically inaccurate directions. The man who checked me out carried on a conversation with his coworker the entire time I was there. He completely shooed the add-on warranty (fortunately I wasn’t interested).
If Portmans expands their product lines, I’ll have no reason to even consider Guitar Center. Terrible customer service.
I walked in ready to spend $1000 on a PA system and I stood in front of the speakers for 20 minutes, not a single person acknowledged my presence. One was busy playing a guitar the other was playing drums with headphones on and another was fiddling with something at the counter. So i went to portmans. Within 5 minutes a guy was hooking up pa speakers for me to listen to. I spent $800 and guitar center missed out on my business.
11. Music & Arts
Address: 7805 Abercorn St Suite 20A, Savannah, GA 31406 , Savannah , Georgia , United States
Great store, so glad they had the cello strings I needed. One of mine broke the day before an audition. Super friendly
Adina was very knowledgeable extremely helpful and quickly let me know finance options on a new electric drum kit I was eyeing
This music store is WONDERFUL. The service I got from the workers was amazing; everyone was so kind, informative, and professional. Personally, I highly recommend Music and Arts. 🙂
Very kind staff and plenty of items for sale
Friendly, knowledgeable staff and respectable pricing. I’m not a musician, but my wife left impressed.
The teen girl working was poorly dressed and rude. Having shopped at other locations before, I expected kind, well dressed employees with expert knowledge. That is not that case at this store– at least not with that employee!! This location lost the only good employee they had (the manager Brandon).
I’m truly upset with this store. I received 2 notices in the mail due to my credit card being declined. The reason why my card was declined was because of frauds activities. I went to pay on my daughter’s instrument and they told me that they do not accept payments in the store nor updated the information in their records. This is ludicrous. They need to change their policy. I called twice this week to reach customer service and they has me on hold for a whole hour. Something has to give.
12. Graveface Records & Curiosities
Address: 5 W 40th St, Savannah, GA 31401 , Savannah , Georgia , United States
Great place. Very nice record selection at great prices. Staff was awesome!
Neat
Keep Savannah Creepy … and awesome. Thanks Graveface
A well hidden pearl
Cool place.
Great diggers store…and not just the grave digging horror stuff. Found some Boo Radleys, Azalia Snail and No New York. Gold
I had previously reviewed about a year and a half ago after my first visit here, which was a 5 star experience, however each time I have returned since then has been a big let down. Every time I have visited here since, the masculine staff have not seemed interested in providing me decent customer service, and usually could not be bothered to even greet or speak to me at all however they don’t skip out on sparking conversation with my boyfriend. It could be excusable if it was a one off however it has happened multiple times at this point. It’s upsetting. The oddity selection is small however has some gems on a good day. The record selection is excellent however I find it hard to want to spend time or money here as a feminine person.
I was in town and hoping to find great used records, and while the customer service was fantastic, I was disappointed by the limited inventory on quality used records and the odd atmosphere. The staff member was friendly and helpful, but the selection didn’t meet my expectations. The taxidermy and overall vibe of the shop didn’t resonate with me either. I suggest the store expands their inventory and improves the ambiance to better cater to music enthusiasts.
13. The Gift Of GAB (God’s Anointed Band)
Address: 118 Barnard St Suite 11214, Savannah, GA 31412 , Savannah , Georgia , United States
I got the action and intonation setup on my guitar here and the difference is huge. The owner, Tyler, knows all about these instruments and will get you where you need to go.
Great prices and friendly people
Great little guitar store with hard to find, rare & collectable artist signed guitars. Brands like Gibson,Fender,Alvarez,Ibanez and very rare expensive Les Paula ,flying V’s and Firebirds. Guitar strings, picks, amps and lots of acoustic guitars for sale. Nice friendly staff. Also all kinds of lessons. Great Guitar Store
They are never there!!!
15. Hotrod Music and Boutique
Address: 1820 Montgomery St, Savannah, GA 31401 , Savannah , Georgia , United States
Best place in town for sound! Got a downtown location as well on corner of Anderson and Habersham. Superb vinyl collection at both locations! Staff is awesome and extremely knowledgeable
Great guy and great store
They fixed my baritone uke and I used to take bass guitar from Roy here when i was like 14 or 15. Roy doesnt really play bass guitar but he taught me what he knew. Cool people
Will never ask them to do anything again. Over $5000 to put two tvs on the wall and add Sonos sound. Spent 10 HOURS in the house and still couldn’t center a TV on a wall or hide cables properly.
On top of all that, they went into a room they weren’t supposed to be in and cut an “access hole” in the middle of a wall.. Complete bafoons. Will spend the rest of my life telling everybody it’s 1000 times better using Best Buy Geek Squad than these hillbillies from Savannah. Worst decision I ever made.
Use at your own risk!!
17. Deep Cuts Studio
Address: E 34th St, Savannah, GA 31401 , Savannah , Georgia , United States
The best experience I’ve had recording!! Matt is so friendly and I’ve never felt more comfortable recording than in this space with Matt as the engineer. The sound he gets is amazing and I’m so happy with the product. If you are considering using Deep Cuts Studio, do it! You definitely won’t regret it!
Great place to record live and dig deep into what you have to say!
