if you play guitar and enjoy finer instruments you got to stop in…. the best selection of quality acoustic guitars and a few electrics too for those who like to plug in. They will also match Sweetwater as well. So if you need a new instrument stop in and support a local shop.Very knowledgeable staff as well.
The guitars in this shop are amazing; all of them make me sound like a guitar hero. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and more than happy to help.
Excellent shop
Had a guitar cable when I needed it.
Not many mandolins
Thé Owners are lousy business

2. The Music Shop
Address: 405 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
I’ve taken several guitars and basses here for setup and parts installation. The work is always top notch and they stand by it if something happens to go wrong. I’ve known Scott since I first picked up a guitar when they were at Caldor plaza (now Walmart). He actually helped my mom and I pick it out. I took lessons at the shop with an instructor named Mark right after that purchase. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
Why is a guy in Melbourne, Australia giving a music shop Southington, Connecticut a five star review? Well I grew up in nearby Bristol and got a number of the guitar books I still use from the Music Shop about 20 years ago. But the real reason I’m giving a high rating is for the help they’ve offered my mother. I left my Les Paul behind in Connecticut and during Melbourne’s Covid lockdown got back into guitar. I asked my mother if she could send me my LP, and, having no idea what to do, she went to the Guitar Shop. They helped her pack it up and told her exactly what to do to make sure it arrived safely, and it did! Then, a few months ago, while cleaning out my late grandmother’s basement, my mother found an old parlour guitar. She went back to the Music Shop and they gave her advice about whether it was worth fixing up and shipping. That guitar just arrived at my door today in great shape.
Thanks so much guys!
Very helpful staff and kids get to play the demo keyboards which only sparks their creativity and musicality and that’s a bonus in my book. They also offer lessons here and have a huge selection of guitars and instruments can be rented or purchased. Will be visiting again that’s for sure!!!!
Great place but website could be better such as pics of some used equipment. I’m a drummer and would like to see what they have for new and used cymbals, stands, drum kits etc. And prices. I have done business with them and always had a great experience the reason for three stars is the website doesn’t do the music shop justice. All and all great store great people.
The cellos were in not in good shape and we had to pay a luthiere to redo repairs that were poorly done when we received the instrument.
3. The Music Shop

4. Connecticut Music Co
Address: Westbrook, CT 06498 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Staff is friendly and helpful! Bought a used violin for my granddaughter, brought it back to trade it in, was given a fair trade in price, will be picking out a new used one!
Cool
Just stopped by quick. Had a great hour. They are the best
Instrument rentals are great for their prices
Good info from employees
6. Greenwich Music
Address: 1200 E Putnam Ave, Riverside, CT 06878 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
If you live in the area, this is the best place to go. Joe is knowledgeable, caring, and just a great person. He has helped my three children with instrument rentals, purchases, repairs, and lessons for all my years in Greenwich. His staff is wonderful and are always happy to help. Please don’t overthink this one…just go see Joe at Greenwich Music!
It’s a nice place! It’s a bit small but otherwise it’s nice.
We were kindly helped in the store, but we were buying a guitar for our son and we don’t live in the US. We were having problems with internet so we couldn’t research correctly at the moment, but they assured that the amp could be used in 220 current. We arrived home and we connected the amp and it didn’t work. So the amp was burned. Apart from that the price was a bit higher than the same thing in other stores, it’s not nice to pay 50 dollars more, but that is just business and anyone can charge what they want. It was our fault that we didn’t do a good research before buying. But the very kind person that assured us that it would work because he used to be an electrician, and it only needed a basic adapter, was totally wrong and now we are home and we lost an amp, so we paid extra for the set and it didn’t work. You were very kind indeed, but please if you are not sure about something, don’t sell it. Because we lost money and we can’t go back because we don’t live there.
Rudest customer service I have ever encountered. The man I spoke to on the phone yelled and hung up on me. When my daughter went in person to drop off the instrument for repair at the agreed upon time, he remained upset and kicked my daughter out of the store. Strongly encourage anyone looking to have their instruments fixed to look elsewhere. Disappointing experience to say the least.
Terrible customer service. Called and said I would be by in 10 minutes for an emergency repair. Guy was nice on the phone. When I arrived 5 minutes early they had closed up and locked. Super helpful…
Their hours aren’t very convenient and I was having a guitar strung and I dropped it off and I didn’t get a call before the store closed and then they were closed the next day Sunday so I didn’t get my guitar until Monday and that was extremely inconvenient. They also have a very small selection of basses.Update, they aren’t even open a couple hours on the 4th of July so I won’t get my guitar till Tuesday I am very upset with this store.
7. The Music Score LLC
Address: 2315 Silas Deane Hwy, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
I have been taking piano lessons with Gil Flores @ The Music Score studio for the past 2 years and have had an excellent experience. Gil brings a wealth of musical experience and teaches in a very understandable, nonthreatening manner with reasonable expectations and positive feedback. Relates well to all age groups.
Great service! Nice friendly owner
Really great place to stop by and get an instrument. The prices seem a bit higher but the quality is surely within the quality you’d expect.
I bought a ukulele here and the quality and sound lived up to the price.
My daughter is signed up for lessons and her teacher is great (I hear the others are as well). Just try not to deal with the guy that owns it.
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
Arrived at 10:00am (they open at 10am, but not today). I waited and they finally arrived. All I needed was guitar strings, but they had none. What a waste of time.
I tried to return my daughter’s Viola due to the school no longer providing classes. It was a total nightmare to get an answer in regards to my credit. They are very irresponsible and I am very disappointed by the lack of care towards my return which was even misplaced! Mom and dad are not helpful at all and he should really look at keeping them home, they make things worse!
8. Music & Arts
Address: 99 Executive Blvd S, Southington, CT 06489 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
My daughter took piano lessons from several places over the past few years. Her favorite of all the teachers was Pat at Westbury Music. She has a great formula that kept her engaged and not dreading her classes. Every week she looked forward to the lesson.
Mike the owner is one of the nicest guys. This is a great place for equipment, supplies and lessons.
Awesome place, great staff, very knowledgeable
Staff is very friendly and knowledgable.
Ordered instrument for my son, was told to pick up the next day, went the following day to pick it up and it wasn’t there. Also bought a box of reefs for the instrument and was given the wrong kind. The gentleman that waited on us was polite, although he didn’t recognize us even though we had just been in the day before!
excellent store, good Fender Selection, nice acoustics, lessons, and school instruments.
10. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 95 Amity Rd, New Haven, CT 06515 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
I went looking for Practice Pads for our beginners Drummers for our Drill Squad and the young man that works in the Drums & Snars section was very helpful he was very knowledgeable about the Drum sticks that will be of best quality for my boys. I’m definitely happy with the choices as well as the Drummers.
Staff was friendly, enthusiastic and helpful as always. Best music store by far!
I’ve purchased instruments (trumpet and clarinet) for both of my children at Sam Ash and the staff has always been very knowledgeable and helpful. Even when we weren’t quite ready to buy, they didn’t mind showing us how to put the instrument together, get notes out of it, and the differences between instruments of different prices/brands/materials, without ever pressuring us to buy anything. They have instruments for the absolute beginner to advanced musicians, and also a nice selection of sheet music and other equipment. This is definitely a good place to start and probably where you’ll end up, even after you shop around.
Yeah. Big selection, little soul.
I really don’t know about this store. I only went there once to buy guitar strings
Went into store to get music stand for table top. Metal with grippers on feet to stand music upright upon table top None available. Have knowledgeable staff and very helpful.
Place is ridiculous to me had piano, that bought there not even been a year yet also had my warranty, they said they would take it back and give me some money but when I went to do it they didn’t want to do it at all they claimed it was broken when I got home and heard my piano was perfectly fine ridiculous they just didn’t wanna buy it back since they had more then enough smh
I went to Sam Ash music New Haven, CT, looking to hopefully purchase a banjo or gain some valuable information I might need to move forward. An employee named ”John” (Guitar department) was helping me through this experience. However, when I declined to purchase a banjo there due to several reasons, mostly their poor selection, he instantly became very rude and snappy and hastly ripped the instrument from my hand. This is definitely do to the fact these employees make their money via-commision. Guess John was just acting nice to customers and is not truly a sincere helpful guy…
Drove 25 minutes to the store only to find out it doesn’t open until noon. Utterly rudiculous! Just close your doors for good if you’re going to have such restrictive hours!
11. George’s Music Center
Address: 905 New Harwinton Rd, Torrington, CT 06790 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Great music store, helpful staff & if they don’t have it in stock, they can get it for you. It’s nice to have access to local shops versus Big box stores.
Best guitar and amp. store I been to yet.
Owner George is the most knollegable guitar and amp. Dude I’ve ever met, that’s saying something since I’ve been a pro. guitarist for 51 years now.
He carries PRS. Suhr, and has MANY pre CBS. Fender amps as well carries Messa Boogie!!
Great guy, great store, what more do you need?
Norm Cote
Buying from the online shop was fast and easy. My fragile item was shipped quickly and packed well. The item was photographed and represented correctly.
I called to verify the item and spoke to the owner, George himself. He was very knowledgeable and down to earth, a good person. I hope to do business again.
Meh
Nice shop
If you’re not looking to go too far to get musical instruments. Look no further. Expensive though. But if you don’t care about prices, go for it. Not much of a selection though.
This place is just awful. The owner is so rude to us that i will never go back. We rented an instrument from him because our normal music store didnt have the instrument and when the instrument broke he said it was our fault and that it wasnt covered and then bad mouthed our local music store.
After going to this place; I must say I will never go back there again. The owner is so rude and disrespectful. Its not even funny. The owner needs get off his anthropocentric state of mind.
12. A Sound Choice
Address: 267 E Main St UNIT 3, Branford, CT 06405 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Great customer service. Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to do business with.
I have a Fender Stratocaster that had a bad volume pot so the “mr Fixit” in me said I can fix it…so I bought a soldering set and volume potentiometers from Stew Mac, which if you are not familiar, is a one stop shop Of any thing to do with building or repairing guitars and amps for Guitar Luthiers amateurs and professionals alike. Needless to say it wasn’t as easy as I thought, soldered the new volume pot in as best I could while following an instructional video but NO SOUND!!!… So I brought it to A Sound Choice and I asked Ken to please fix the volume pot and then while he was at it do a professional setup and replace the strings…to make a long story short, Ken said I did a good job, just needed a little touching up and now the guitar is playing better than ever and I have another 20 more Guitars I need to bring him for future set ups. He could have charged me for a complete volume pot replacement and I would’ve never even of known otherwise. If you want honest, trustworthy, affordable, timely service of your treasured instruments….you can not do better than A Sound Choice.
I was craving a new guitar to play during the quarantine and found a beautiful Seagull S6 for a great price. Ken was quick to reply and got it shipped the same day. Very happy and thankful! Thanks Ken!
Cool little music shop. Worth going and especially if you need a setup on your instrument.
Ordered a guitar on Reverb and Ken always answered the phone and was very helpful throughout the process. I ordered a Larrivee OM-40 and it was listed as brand new but definitely had a dent and 2 scratches which was disappointing but overall a good experience with the process.
The guitar however has a terrible extreme buzzing noice, especially when playing on the first 7 frets of the 4th, 5th, and 6th strings…even when playing a single note and strum lightly…a terrible buzz. I can’t seem to figure out where it is coming from. I will have to take to a luthier which is unfortunate given that it is a brand new guitar. He did say he sanded the saddle down before shipping to lower the action, suspicious that is the problem.
Update: Took it into a luthier. The saddle had been sanded down, action too low, poor job with the setup. Had to build me a new saddle. New strings, and adjusted trust rod as well. Buzzing gone. Sounds and plays like a dream!
When I can I prefer to spend my money at mom -n- pop businesses and A Sound Choice is a great guitar shop. Knowledgeable and they have a great selection of music making products. The corporate guitar stores don’t always hire staff that even know what a treble clef is so my advice is spend your money here.
13. Blue Bus Music
Address: 6 Prospect St, Ridgefield, CT 06877 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Good prices friendly service. Fixed up my old Yamaha acoustic guitar and got it sounding great.
I can’t say enough about this place, it really is much, much more than your average music shop.
Owners Sanna and Patrick are kind, thoughtful and very customer focused. I purchased a beautiful Maton guitar and an AER amplifier there and also had Patrick do some work on my old Guild acoustic, and my experiences were extremely positive. Patrick took time with me and really understood what my goals were musically, and all his advice and recommendations were very useful. Sanna was also great, and always got back to me very promptly with any questions or concerns I had along the way.
Blue Bus also has a dedicated team of teachers that I also highly recommend, available to teach people of all skill levels.
They also have an “open mic” evening which has been put on hold because of the pandemic, but I know they want to resume it when things get better (which can’t happen fast enough).
It has been a real pleasure to support this local business, the individualized customer focus from them makes it so worthwhile.
Highly recommend!!
A great local music store with a variety of Maton guitars, occasional performance showcases, and fab music teachers available for lessons.
Nice looking small shop with an interesting selection of off brand guitars. I always like when the smaller shops aren’t afraid to stock higher end gear. The selection of acoustic guitars especially. The pedal section could use some fleshing out.
Needed one string for my son violin rental. The lady was trying to sell me on a pack of strings that I do not need.
Bought a Maton guitar ….. company doesn’t have a clue on how to set a guitar up….. I have purchased no less then 50 guitars been playing for 50 years…. this company shouldn’t be allowed to sell guitars much less Maton .
14. Middlesex Music Academy
Address: 440 Main St, Middletown, CT 06457 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Yesterday we went in to rent an instrument for my 4th grader starting band and I can’t speak enough on how smooth and easy the process was! When we walked in we were greeted by Jim, who immediately knew everything we needed and even our band teacher by name (impressive!). Our son can tend to be a bit shy but the charm of this place seemed to make him feel right at home! If I had to I would say the whole interaction took all of about 10 minutes and we were on our way. Definitely recommending this place to anyone I know looking for help with an instrument, thanks again!
I’ve been a patron of the Middlesex Music Academy for over a decade. This is the place. THIS, is the place. If you’re looking for a tutor, repair or an expert opinion/guidance about music, THIS, is the place. You are not going to get the same care or interaction elsewhere; THIS, is the place.
For instances, their “repair guy” Joe Stereo, is the best. I have trusted him with my most beloved gear and he has treated my gear as if it were his own. He is aces. He’s always gone above beyond the call of duty in every conceivable way. Joe has worked on more than a dozen of my
instruments and I have never been dissatisfied in anyway.
Matt, the store proprietor, is a seasoned musician. He and his dedicated staff are generous with their knowledge and willing to work with anyone on any budget or otherwise to achieve their goals. I can’t say enough about this homegrown and beautiful establishment.
The bottom line, if you’re looking for a music store where you can build a lasting and worthwhile relationship with, then look no further than the Middlesex Music Academy. THIS, is the place.
Highly recommend for instrument repairs. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Got my sax playing like new again for a very reasonable price in 4 days. I will be back here.
The sales team made it possible for me to afford a piano for my son
I paid $80 for a setup on a guitar and got it back with the strings a mile off of the neck and the floyd rose studs so high out of the body I could park a car under it. The bridge pickup was raised until it was practically touching the strings and the neck pickup was lowered to below the pickup ring. The tech then told me that 10-52 strings don’t exist. They’re light top heavy bottom and aren’t even uncommon strings. Every time I go there they give bad advice and clearly don’t know what they’re talking about. My friend tried to buy a tubescreamer (basic overdrive) and they tried to sell him a phaser instead (completely different thing).
I would give Middlesex Music Academy a 0 if I was able to. I called to inquire about a $150 charge when I haven‘t been confirmed by John the guitar teacher. I made a request to Matt that Tuesday was my preference but John was booked so he scheduled Thursday at 6pm. I received a text and email from John yesterday that he had a conflict for Thursday and offered Friday. I responded via text/email that would not work and inquired if this was temporary or permanent to which I did not receive a response. I let John know this may not be a good fit then. I called today to have the charge refunded and Jim proceeded to call me names, saying I was yelling & screaming over the phone and I was being rude. No need to go into the dramatics but Jim needs a lesson in manners, telling the truth and understanding that being a manager does not give him the authority to behave poorly. Never once did I raise my voice but did correct Jim several times throughout the conversation all because i asked for a refund. Extremely unprofessional and a bad look for Middlesex Music all around. I will be taking my business elsewhere. Inexcusable & theater worthy performance by Jim today folks!!!
I signed up for a piano lesson trial online. Their site is very confusing and it’s not clear if the lesson is in-person and online. I called them, left a message but they never called me back. In the day/time of the lesson, I called them 3 times because I was having problems to contact the teacher. The guy who works there, Jim, clearly doesn’t have any customer service skills. He was rude and unpleasant. He didn’t make any effort to help me, told me a was confused and nobody else had problems. I just canceled the future lessons there. It’s easier just hire a private piano teacher. Hopefully I will never have to deal with this guy again.
15. DuBaldo Music Center
Address: 881 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Finally got to visit after doing some business over the phone 18 years ago with Pete. Great inventory, selection and people. One of the very best examples of why we need to support local businesses and how great a family can run them!
That was likely the most pleasant guitar buying experience I have ever had. I could not recommend patronizing this amazing store more. Thank you so much!!
I’m not sure how long this review will be, but I will say upfront that buying a guitar from DuBaldo Music was a great experience, from day one until I took delivery of my instrument, and beyond!
I ordered an Alvarez-Yairi Honduran series (FYM66HD) guitar from Pete at DuBaldo music in April 2021.
For those reading this review in the somewhat distant future, allow me to set the scene a bit:
There was a LOT going on in the world during this time. The COVID Pandemic was still raging, and supply chains were snarled at every turn.
Ports were closed, dock workers and truckers were striking or working limited hours under delayed timelines. Parts availability was questionable at best, etc.
VERY long story short: The guitar had to be hand built in Japan, then shipped to the west coast, then shipped to St.Louis, MO, then shipped to DuBaldo Music in CT before I could take delivery. All the while, considering the conditions of the world as described above.
Pete, Lisa and everyone else at DuBaldo music helped me along at every stage, kept me updated, empathized with and tolerated my frequent calls for updates, contacted the distributor in St. Louis on my behalf, and were generally very pleasant to work with over a period of just over one full year.
I will not pretend that I wasn’t itching to receive my guitar, or that the extended delay didn’t bother me. It was a maddening wait!
But I want to make it crystal clear:
DuBaldo music did their absolute best to get it to me as quickly as possible, considering the extremely challenging circumstances. I can’t say enough about their customer service. It was exceptional at every stage!
When I made my order over the phone, Pete answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with what I was ordering as far as the specs were concerned. We made a deal on a VERY good price, and the wait began.
I won’t bore with the details, but between Japan and Connecticut there were numerous significant delays. Mostly unavoidable and one or two caused by decisions that St.Louis Music made, and/or failed to communicate ahead of time.
Pete and Lisa worked through all of this for me deftly, and professionally.
I am not local to the store. I live in DC, about 6 hours away. When the guitar finally arrived, there were 3 in the order, and Pete and Lisa let me know that I could have my pick of the three. Instead of having Pete play them for me over the phone and choosing from pictures, I decided to drive up and try them out in person, and drive it home myself.
Lisa and Nick were more than accommodating, and I was made to feel very comfortable while taking my time to decide. All 3 guitars were incredible instruments and it was a tough decision. Nick provided periodic feedback and assistance as I tried them over a period of about 3 hours. I never felt rushed, bothered, or unimportant. They made sure I was attended to but was not hovered over.
They knew exactly how to help a musician pick an instrument, and it is clear that they wanted to make sure I was equipped to make the right choice, and leave satisfied.
On the way out, as they knew I was a visitor, they even provided local restaurant recommendations, since I had mentioned that I was making my best effort to eat at great places while I was on the road.
I was, and am still, very happy with the decision I made, and with the entire experience of buying from DuBaldo music.
I cannot recommend them highly enough!
My only disappointment was that after a year of talking to him several times a month on the phone, I didn’t get to meet Pete in person, since he was out sick the day I visited.
Hopefully he’s feeling better now, and if I’m ever back in CT, I’ll be sure to stop in and thank him personally!
Thanks again to Lisa, Nick, Pete, and everyone at DuBaldo for a trying, long lasting,, but ultimately completely satisfying experience! The guitar is utterly amazing and will be with me forever, as will the experience of shopping with you.
Great service
16. La Salle Music & Sound
Address: 993 Main St #2233, East Hartford, CT 06108 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Cool little music store with a certain old-school, pawn-shop vibe. Found a cool, used Kustom powered monitor/mixer and a short mic stand, useful items at a great discount. Enjoyable experience, since the staff was cool and helpful, letting me borrow a mic and cable to test my purchase before buying.
Stopped in store for first time to get a couple guitar related things. Super friendly and knowledgeable
Super nice and friendly in the store, and Mr. LaSalle did a wonderful job restoring my dad’s old 1962 guitar that had not been touched in decades and needed a lot of work. Definitely recommend! Photos are before and after.
First, the employees were excellent; friendly and helpful. I was extremely disappointed in the store itself. This was basically a dark, messy pawn shop, not the store I was familiar with from years ago. My only reason to go back would be to pick through dusty items to find something I might be in search of, more of an adventure.
Closed even though the hours said it was open (3 pm on a Wednesday). The place looked like a hoarders attic. Absolute mess.
Sent me a different accordion with no straps and a case that should of been thrown out
Total waste of my time
17. Creative Music Center
Address: 701 Main St, Monroe, CT 06468 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
I love this place, i go in just to look at the product and I always end up buying something.
All of the staff, from folks at the register to the instructors to the director of music education, are professional and knowledgeable, with a warm welcome to boot!
Awesome staff and great deals! No surprise they have 5 stars!!!
Scheduled a guitar lesson here, spent $45, arrived on time, the teacher I was assigned to never showed up. At least they were nice enough to give me my money back the next day.
I just went to this store with my violin wanting the sound post set and to re-hair my bow. When I walked in there were two ladies at the counter. As I opened my case asking the the lady in the white turtle neck with straight brown hair if they re-hair bows? She snapped that they didn’t. The nice girl next to her chimed in as said out loud “She re-hairs bows?” Then the other lady gave a look and said I would need to buy a new one! She then picked up my violin and started to point out things about my only violin that were not good enough for her to re-set my sound post! I then asked “How much to just re-set the sound post?” She refused me service and said “Good Luck!” AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN! I think I didn’t fit the “type” they prefer to give services to?
Brought my daughter’s flute in to be repaired. Over a month and they never touched it. No time table given for when they would fix it.
18. Guitar Center
Address: 50 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT 06477 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
I was impressed by the service, patience, and attention to detail at this store. I was even more impressed by Justin N who was incredibly helpful over the phone with a technical question I was having about fret buzz on my Stratocaster. He swiftly diagnosed the issue and I was able to fix the buzz on my guitar immediately. Anyone else could have simply written me off and I would have had to drive 30+ minutes to drop off my guitar needlessly. This is the sort of thing that makes me love Guitar Center and keeps me a loyal patron – I’ll definitely be making my purchases in-store because I love the retail presence and the community Guitar Center provides. Thanks for looking out, Justin!
Experienced staff and good support. Reasonable price.
Good
This place made me tired. My arms and legs were sore and heavy afterwards.
Very cold in the store…how can they turn the heat down so low overnight that all instruments, specials guitars, made from wood get so cold the necks shrink real bad causing all the frets to stick out…bad way yo handle instruments!!!
Good place to play music and relaxation.
Guitar center is the epitome of poor customer service. Sorry I am not Jimi Hendrix and I have questions about the stuff I am buying.
I purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Special I P90, however, for some reason the in store price is $30 higher than the online price for the exact same model. I called the store before driving there and was told that they did not have that model, hence preventing me from doing an online purchase at the lower price. I drove to the store and purchased the exact same model for $30 more. The price hike does not bother me as much as the unethical nature of the transaction, so buyers be wary of the guitar center at Orange, Ct.
You would think that a company with a bad rep would open up a few minutes early. Just saying go back to being a store for musicians. Maybe have clinics at the smaller stores.
Just went in the store to check out the chapman guitars not a one in there. If your looking for a PRS only 3 of them. But you can see a lot of Gibson and fenders best wishes
I will do all my shopping on Reverb
19. Stewart’s Music LLC
Address: 171 Main St, Niantic, CT 06357 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
Great store! The owners are super helpful and friendly. Good selection of instruments, accessories, and sheet music. Their service can’t be beat.
Great service, wonderful selection!
I arrived when they opened which was on time and prompt. (Also, the only store in the area that opens this early! LIFE SAVER!) The woman there was EXTREMELY knowledgeable on all the equipment in the store. She knew exactly what I needed and when she didn’t have a full 10 pack of reeds, she made one for me. The prices were fair and I had the option of purchasing pre-owned items at a lower rate! She also had a little dog that she let my younger son pet while we were there. As we were leaving, someone was coming to bring in their unused instruments for the buy back program. Polite, fast transaction, educated, and helpful. Parking was directly in front of the building, easy in, easy out. I will be returning here for all my kids instrumental needs!
Absolutely awful owners were nasty and they charged way too much for a simple repair just go to music and arts its easier and cheaper
Simple advise dont scream at your costumers to get business
Terrible customer service. Took my flute to get repaired and instead of just simply fixing what needed to be done to it I was told I shouldn’t have bought an off brand flute. This was all I could afford at the time (as a teenager). I am looking to invest in a new one but honestly it is no ones job to criticize the instrument I have. I waited for the repair to be done and called 3 different times on it. The repair person got sick which is understandable. When I called the last time they said it was finished and I asked why they never called me to let me know they said that I said I was going to come in regardless. Which is true. But still does not explain why no one called me. Overall a bad experience. Was treated very poorly and will not be going there again.
20. Music & Arts
Address: 989 Farmington Ave, West Hartford, CT 06107 , Schitu , Connecticut , United States
The sales staff is warm and friendly-very knowledgeable about their products and options. I will definitely be back!
Provides great teachers and a convenient schedule, as well as instruments, repairs, accessories and advice from the musicians who work there. Take the opportunity to explore something new or study in depth.
Went to music and arts for authorized Yamaha purchase. Great price and great service!
I have condensed my original rant down to the following- we really like our children’s teachers- but the front desk needs saving
Yeah it’s good!
Limited retail space, but the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Music lessons are offered on site.
The worst company in the world!!!! If I can give anyone advice it would be to stay away from this place. Their thief’s and I will never do business with them again.
Imagine spending your life blowing air into a piece of metal. Unbelievable
My child joined band program at her school in West Hartford. Using their online system, I placed an order for instrument rental and a book for the program. The date I placed my order, they charged my credit card.
However, they never delivered the instrument until I called and confirm the status. The book was never delivered with the instrument. A week later, I called them to confirm about the book. They told me that it was back ordered. Since the book was available in Amazon for next day delivery, I asked Music & Arts to cancel my book order.
After few weeks, I still did not have my credit back for the book. I called them to ask for the refund, and the customer service told me that I have to return the book (which was never delivered!) in order to get the refund and hang up on me. I used the chat function on their website to explain the situation. Here, the customer service told me that they would never charge the credit card unless the item is delivered, and conversation did not go anywhere. (Again, my credit card was charged on the date I placed order!) Not knowing what to do, I called the store in West Hartford, left my phone number with an employee so the manager can call me back. No one called me back. I sent polite email to the manager, and also emailed the customer service. No response from anyone.
I will NOT order anything from this business in the future.
