COME CHECK OUT Elite Sound/ Melody Music and the “ROCKY MOUNTAIN MUSIC MUSEUM!” Owner Gordon Close has spent a lifetime assembling this huge collection of historical instruments, records, original hit manuscripts and record players going back over 100 years!
There are many Jazz guitars, electric guitars, banjos, grand pianos, player pianos, a Ford Model T, and even the original Mics Used by Elvis at Sun Studios in Memphis! Gordon also has his own brand of Harvest Guitars that are quite reasonable at several price points, from student to professional.
If you love music like I do, you’ll find this place to be AMAZING! You might want to call first to make sure they are available, as they keep very busy. Gordon’s love for music history and these incredible instruments is contagious! And he is such a positive guy. He really inspired me last week. Go visit!
Gordon was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Best place to buy a guitar! Gordon is not only very knowledgeable and talented when it comes to music, specifically guitars, he is also very kind and generous. I had an amazing experience buying my 12 year old her first guitar at Elite Sound
2. Music & Arts
Address: 5158 S Broadway, Englewood, CO 80113 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Highly recommend this place had a wonderful experience!
I have 6th grader playing percussion this year and they were extremely helpful in getting us set up with a rental kit for him that has everything he needs for class! They also offer classes!! Shout out to the employee Corey thanks for your help!
My daughter takes violin lessons from Erin and she rented her violin from here. Erin is great at communicating and gives out a schedule for makeup lessons. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful.
This is easily the best Music & Arts or music store in the Denver metro as far as I am concerned. Eddie and John customer service and passion for music is unparalleled!! They definitely went above and beyond while assisting my daughter in re-stringing her Cello and continuing her music career.
They will have all my business moving forward, Thanks Eddie and John!!!
i guess its okay if you want a 99$ beginner acoustic or an overpriced pair of drum sticks…
Decent sheet music selection. They do repairs but send the instrument off for them to be done. Double check the repair receipt as mine was overcharged by $120.00. They did fix the error, but only after I argued 3 times with the workers. Satisfactory but not my first choice. I do love the accessory selection though.
Nice place check it out
Today I called the sister store guitar center looking for Hal Leonard’s key stickers for all keyboards. They stated they did not have it but that Music & arts center would. I called your location in Englewood asking for that specific product. I spoke to Garret on the phone; he stated they had the exact product I was looking for. I drove 35 minutes to pick up said product. When I arrived no one greeted me instead a man stood in a corner looking at products (leading me to believe he was a customer) and a random voice coming from underneath the counter by the registers but no person standing there. I proceeded to look around from my product which was no where to be seen. Finally I approached the man seeing if he knew who could help me. Turns out it was Garret himself, at which point he pulled out the exact opposite product I drove 35 mins looking for telling me that is all they had. Turns out the voice behind the counter was an employee talking about fighting someone on her personal phone during work hours instead of helping me.
The customer service at this location is awful. If he would have paid attention to me on the phone I could have drove 2 mins to get the same thing he had me drive 35 mins for.
Also if the other employee wasn’t bringing her personal problems and dealing with them on company time I wouldn’t have had to walk around the store looking for a product I didn’t even need.
Horrible customer service. Have been dealing with a billing issue for over a year. Their employee screwed up, I sent them the proof, and yet they still tried to send me to collections. And I’m still out the money. Each time I’ve tried to communicate with them, it’s always that they will give me a call back and they never do. Because of this, I plan on trying to protect people from this company. Because if there is a mistake, they like to screw you.
Went to buy a professional level saxophone. They gave me one that had pads missing, leaks, pad cages missing. Returned it and the lady was rude when. I. Returned. If im gonna spend good money on a pro sax, i at least want it to work. I will never buy from music and arts again.
3. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Great shop and Guitar Gutter keeps me coming back thanks to his attention to detail and willingness to get the job done right, or at the very least, try his absolute best, which is more than most could say!
Ziggy, Ike, and the whole gang are awesome!
I was interested in Reverend guitars and no one around me had one. I called may places and sometimes no return calls. Then I called Flipside Music right after they closed and left a message to call me.
I received a call about an hour later and all my questions were answered. Flipside had one left of the guitar I was interested in with the exact color.
While talking to Ike, he was able to give me a good comparison to the LP and Strat and was able to make a neck determination without playing in person, in which I always play in person. I texted back an hour later that I would buy it and Ike took it off the page and saved it for me.
I’m extremely picky and a pain when buying guitars and usually play them several times and even have others play them for me before I buy.
In this case, I was comfortable enough after speaking with Ike and watching u-tube videos, that I bought my first guitar without playing it after 30 years of buying guitars.
I arrived well packaged on the case I bought and was a beauty. I hooked it up and made the room vibrate and gave my fingers a workout. Sounds great and totally happy I bought the Orange Jetstream 390! Thanks Ike, you guys rock!
Best service in this category
This store is one of Denver’s hidden gems! I walked in looking for a bass pre-amp… These guys blew me away with their knowledge and friendlyness. They definitely know their stuff. I’d recommend flip side to any bassist or guitarist for any needs except repairs( I don’t know if they do repairs, I didn’t ask, as I already have a guy for that…).
First Visit. Nice small shop, great pedal selection and some nice guitar brands (Reverend, G&L among others). Really friendly folks.
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
4. Target
Address: 3650 River Point Pkwy, Sheridan, CO 80110 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
I was so impressed with the customer service I received today. Both on the sales floor and in the express lane. Thank you.
BTW, I hate to mix the bad with the good but Target…. these carts have been laying at the bottom of the hill for some time. Hasn’t anyone mentioned it to you?
Great store..grocery and wide store selection. Store is very well merchandized and had an updated, fresh look. Always fun to return in person to see what is new!
Return was quick and easy
This evening we went to this Target store in our area. We did the self check out and brought our own bag. When the computer asked us if we were purchasing a bag we put in 0 bags. When I looked at our receipt they charged us 10 cents for a bag. The employee working this area said we needed to go to customer service counter to get our 10 cents back. There was no way I was going to wait at the customer service counter to get my 10 cents back. She then offered to give me 10 cents. That was nice of her to offer but I said no thank you. Buyers beware of being charged for bags you didn’t buy. I guess this is a new money generator for Target.
Better than KMart.
No cloths over 2x.
I hate the new set up, especially the beauty area. I went in for one product and couldn’t find it in 20 minutes. I tried to ask for help but there was no one and no kiosk or anything to page help. I then went to returns and exchanges since there isn’t really a customer service desk and waited for 4 minutes and no one came to help me. Ended up leaving without the one thing I came for.
This location is out of everything you’re ever looking for. Don’t waste your time.
This Target isn’t as good as the other Target stores.
5. The Denver Folklore Center
Address: 1893 S Pearl St, Denver, CO 80210 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Simply one of the best shops for stringed instruments on the planet. Friendly expertise, good selection, and people who care.
This place was awesome, the staff was extremely helpful in helping me find a guitar for my daughter and the best part was we were able to rent it so that she can make sure it is what she wants. I am absolutely impressed with this little shop. Would highly recommend to any parent looking to help their teenager or younger child find three right guitar.
Great, knowledgeable staff! Quality products!
I haven’t been there in 20-30 years. It was always a good place for young hippie musicians and a counter culture gathering place. Always enjoyed going there. I’ve known the main guy there since I was a teenager (50 yrs ago).
They know their stuff, do good repairs, and have a fine selection of quality instruments. Prices and quality tend toward the high end and although friendly, the staff are potentially intimidating to New comers and students.
They had some interesting instruments that we wanted to try, but they made it very clear we shouldn’t touch anything we weren’t interested in buying. Some of us shop in order to be surprised by a vintage instrument or a local luthier, but I didn’t even get to look at all the banjos they had that aren’t available in Austin. Instead of finding out what type of mando I was looking for or parlor guitar my husband wants, they hounded our 16-yr old about what he wanted to buy and didn’t want him to play anything once we said he wasn’t the one shopping for something.
I was playing instruments hoping to buy a banjo from them, I don’t know anything about banjos, and I was nervous so I was playing some guitars and nobody really ask me anything, and a guy the came up to me and told me they don’t like people playing their instruments, so I left and bought a brand new banjo online deering model its cool came in perfect condition ready to play. I’ve experienced this at other places but that’s a funny way to sell instruments.
Also I was the only person in the store and was playing lightly, and I was considering buying one of the guitars, but definitely not from them.
An older man sat in the middle of the store and made it clear to not play any instruments unless you were basically committed to purchasing. It was a stiff and uncomfortable environment. It is easy to see from many of the reviews that the business model needs an adjustment. Highly discourage coming unless you want to grovel at the feet of the owner. Also, there were no fiddles. How can they even call themselves a folklore center?
I miss Harry. He was polite to his customers.
6. Dean Music Group
Address: 6778 E Panorama Ln, Denver, CO 80224 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
I wish there was a way to give Jimmie more than just 5 stars. I have had multiple dealings with him and every time he has gone out of his way to provide the most top notch customer service I have ever had. I wish the rest of the world would take lessons from him on how to treat a customer.
As I write this I’m trying to think of how I can express the amazing quality of service I’ve received from Jimmie Dean at Denver music group and I’m sure I can do it justice. All I can say is Jimmie is the man to see if you’re looking for Ultimate Ears products, he’ll let you listen before you buy and explain the various features so you can make a good choice. He will assist you in every way so that you’re completely satisfied, I can’t praise him enough!
Jimmie Dean – was fantastic! He took to time to assist me with a pair of Ultimate Ears to use in conjunction with my Sena while riding my motorcycle. The Sena system wasn’t loud enough due to my hearing loss. The UE plug into the Sena, now I can hear my music and cycle to cycle communication along with having external cycle noise blocked. Thank you again Jimmie – Regards Babs
7. Music & Arts
Address: 7421 W Bowles Ave Suite 12, Littleton, CO 80123 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Best sheet music collection in the Colorado second only to the Campus Music store up in Greeley. Love this place!
My daughter found a crack in her cello, she’s a senior this year and since she’s been playing since 5th grade we had to change out cellos several times, we’ve had no problems doing so and getting repairs done throughout the years. Working with James the manager this time around and he has been so polite and respectful and I couldn’t be any happier with the outcome! Over the years we have been thankful for the insurance on her cello, they get damaged and music and arts has been accommodating and understanding! Thank you for the years of no stress, and great employees to work with!!
Excellent customer service
Low guitar selection. Great for beginners, but not top choice for a seasoned player.
This is one of the best music store around the neighborhood. They even sale old music records and they also give lessons.
They have a bunch of guitar paraphernalia, some keyboard, brass, and clarinet stuff, but nothing for oboe.
We had trumpet lessons planned for over a month. We get a call TODAY that the instructor is not available any longer – same day as our first lesson. Ridiculous lack of communication and no advance notice – unorganized and disappointing. …………………..And it just got even worse. We rented a trumpet here despite the first experience – it lasted for 6 weeks – so took it back and we were told that since we didn’t buy the damage waiver, we would have to pay to have it fixed – the damage waiver clearly says it’s for loss or theft – we explained that we were given a defective instrument to begin with. It should last longer than 6 weeks when played 3 times a week. So we just left the trumpet at the store and they threatened to charge our credit card anyway. WOW! …..WORST experience ever – we do not recommend this place for lessons or rentals – worst customer service experience ever!
These people waisted my time and lied to me saying they have no strings what do ever, but I was literally in there like 2 hours before that and they were overloaded with strings. Maybe tell the truth. It will save you from bad reviews such as this one
If only 0 stars was an option. That is what this place deserves. Rented a sax for 3 years, it was stolen at 2 years. We had insurance on it so no big deal. This place did not tell us that they opened up a new account for the new sax which killed our 2 years with of credits.
Today we called to see what we could use our credits on and they told us we could apply it a piano, great that’s what we want. Get to the store and the children working that day says that is not true.
From day one this place gives mixed messages. Don’t waste your money here, everything is overpriced. Buy an instrument outright from somewhere reputable.
Way to take advantage of parents who want to get their kids into music. Shame on you and your business of swindling people.
8. Guitar Center
Address: 9647 E County Line Rd, Englewood, CO 80112 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
I went in with an unusual request to swap gibson components(humbuckers with an SG wiring harness) into my fender stratocaster. Not only did they do a great job on the swap, they also repaired some of the dings and dents on my guitar. They didn’t charge me much for all the work either! I highly recommend them!
I I’ve never been there but it’s my son’s favorite place
Good place I started playing guitar during quarantine and here is where I got replacement strings and picks I love the calm vibe in there.
Huge selection! Still cheaper online.
This is a really nice music store. Large selection of items. I find exactly what I needed and was in and out in less than five minutes, but there were plenty of staff available.
Great store!!
Selection is a joke.
Second time in a year that a used piece of gear listed on their website wasn’t actually in stock. Manager showed little interest in helping the salesman, more interested in discussing the NBA. After some prodding the manager went looking. His response to me was that the pedal had been stolen. No apology, no nothing. My advice is call ahead before driving across town for a piece of gear. Apparently GC isn’t required to inventory their stock.
Got my Jackson restrung at this Guitar Center about a week ago, took it back in today as there was a slight vibration in my two low strings. Somehow, the guy took this chunk out of the paint when he was adjusting the truss rod . How does this even happen?? I take meticulous care of my equipment and now I have to look at this unsightly gash that will probably spread over time. Extremely dissapointed and very angry. Just because it’s not a thousand dollar guitar doesn’t mean you still shouldn’t care for it the same.
Be weary of taking your nice equipment here if you want it to stay nice….
9. Guitar Center
Address: 1585 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80222 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Very nice place. I bought a stick drum for my son and also he play a little bit of drum demo. Just info about the lesson in guitar lesson $119 a month for 30 minutes for registration fee $30 no cancelation fee, no contract, you can cancel anytime. If anyone interested her name Danica, she’s very nice and friendly. Jason is the music instructor he’s very nice and friendly.
Muy buena variedad de instrumentos y todo lo referente a música
Best experience with people that work there and they’re extremely knowledgeable!!! If you need help with your musical instruments S. Colorado Blvd location 8s your best option!! DANNY IS THE MAN!!!
You need to know what you need and where to find it on your own. They have a great selection, but God help you if you need assistance finding anything. We had to beg for someone to sell me a guitar.
Inventory is awesome and the guys are terrific, very helpful and knowledgeable. However, should you actually purchase something more than a few small items, the wait is long and the customer service unfocused. The staff seems to disappear and randomly reappear without focusing on completing a transaction in a timely manner. I do believe they mean well, but allocate an hour and load up on patience at the door.
I really like the store for what it is. Nothing really amazing about service or nothing really bad, im pretty happy with this store!
Save your time, drive South and go to the Englewood location. Better customer service, more selection of guitars, and they are in good condition.
Terrible experience. Two times. The first time I went in no one would help me. I waited for 20 minutes with my one year old, and no even asked me if I needed help.
Second time, we were helped and the guy was terrible. He tried to upsell us every possible and when we said no he got an attitude with us.
We needed a guitar for our 12 year old and he steared us in the wrong direction, we purchased a guitar WAY too big for him, just so he could make more money. Terrible, awful experience.
Save your time and buy a guitar online or a local guitar store.
Ordered a loudspeaker online, early in the a.m., needed for a gig this weekend. I drove from Fort Collins to pick it up at the store. They only had the floor model. Gigantic waste of time and energy, and I’ll be playing the show with one powered speaker. Thanks.
10. Music Man Custom Home Audio
Address: Littleton, CO 80122 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Picked up a great used Thunderbird today. The two gentlemen working were super nice and helpful. They really do have amazing gear here, can’t wait to stop by again!
Could not have had a better experience. I picked up a Like New guitar for a fraction of the new price and even got free shipping. Very happy customer!
Good place to sell instruments
Good store for inexpensive used gear
got what i needed
Limited selection, but good service, solid prices.
INVESTIGATION IN PROGRESS!!!!
This place is under investigation for buying and selling stolen goods. If your a musician that has had equipment stolen, its probably here.
There is no longer any doubt that you guys buy stolen gear, you know you’re buying stolen gear, you’re obstructive when the heat is on, you know how to get rid of the stuff quickly, and you are truly scum and anathema to the music community. go to hell
Went in to buy a strap and cables. Asked if I could test a wireless mic I had bought. NO.
So my friend and I bought 0.00.
12. Wedgles Music & Loan
Address: 1122 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
I’ve had nothing but good experiences at Wedgles both buying and selling/trading. They have so much cool unique gear, I’m like a kid in a candy shop there! The staff is super nice and knowledgeable and will let you play with anything in the store for as long as you want. They are always willing to make a deal, which I appreciate.
Fast and courteous service pleasure doing business with these people
This is an awesome place you never know what you will find here , beautiful vintage guitars can be pricy but I have purchased several guitars from the 70s here for under 200 bucks, so many times I’ve lost everything and needed a cheap but great sounding guitar to perform I have found one here , I have also loaned guitars here for a very fair buy back price, I recommend checking them out for mandolins , guitars, bass , or even orchestra instruments (cello, viola, violin). Thanks wedgles
Great little wheeln’ dealn’ music store. Have picked up some great used drum mics here. Not the greatest hours though, they close right at 5 everyday and closed on Sundays
This is the local pawn shop for your instrumental needs. Great music items
I was in today 9/12/12.
As usual they were a bit busy, but said hi, and I wandered around.
I try to vist Wedgles any time I’m in Denver, and I’ve always been treated with respect, had questions answered and everyone was friendly.
I am sure, given their location, that they get the dregs of society in there on a far too frequent basis, and if you’ve ever worked in retail you know how difficult it can be dealing with the regular public, let alone those down on their luck.
I think these guys do a good job in a small space with difficult customers at times.
They are knowledgable, but I doubt any of them know everything about everything!
I don’t know about the bad comments other than that when a customer has a problem he will usually tell ten people, but when everything goes well, no one is the wiser.
If in doubt, stop in for perhaps the best selection of GOOD used guitars and instruments in Denver. While there today I saw 5 or 6 Fender Telecasters, a number of Gibson acoustics, a carved top or two, etc. Also some inexpensive lap steels (try to find a lap in a pawn shop!) and a few good quality tube amps.
Give these guys a shot, and ignore the whiners!
Awful experience.
Guitars are just broken. Never think about buying anything in this store. Prices are 200% what they should be.
Guy was not nice would not let me see the guitar he said he was not going to get guitar down if I wasn’t going to buy
Terrible price quoting done by a rude human being. I went in to price out an instrument and was greeted by two respectful people. The man pricing my instrument didn’t even grant me the respect of looking at me while I tried to negotiate a price. I will NOT be recommending this place for future customers. It takes such little effort to treat someone like a person, nevermind the bogus quote I received.
13. Music & Arts
Address: 8475 S Yosemite St Suite B, Lone Tree, CO 80124 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
I bought a used violin from their sister store after deciding I wanted to try to pick it up again after almost 20 years of not playing. The violin I received needed the bridge installed and needed tuning, so the sister store sent me to Music and Arts for help. Christopher helped me get the violin set up and ready to play. I told him my situation and he helped me pick out a music book to learn from and some accessories. What I appreciated most was that he was genuinely excited to share a love of music with someone looking to get back into it. Thank you for your help!
I Love this store. Thank you Jamie for the awesome attitude to customers and music!
Nice little store.. knowledgeable and friendly.. As a novice to this, I was impressed. I will definitely do business here.
Good selection of musical gear, instruments, some sheet music, and other necessities. The rental prices are high – the markup on their instruments is, too- but overall it’s a good store with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Very limited options. Good for beginner or any starter . Cheaper instruments and cheap music stand. Not recommended for intermediate or professional needs :/
Your one stop shop whether you want to buy or rent or repair musical instruments. They have friendly staff with reliable service and they do have branches at many places in Colorado
Helpful staff, but totally under staffed. If you roll in expect a huge line and pack a lunch. It is a very poor experience.
I rented a trumpet for my daughter and as I was returning it, one of the workers said that I could get a hundred dollars credit for a different instrument. I told her that I would wait until my kids were out of school so they could pick which instrument they wanted. Last Thursday, I went in with my kids to return the trumpet and find a new instrument. I gave the trumpet to the man at the cashier, expecting him to complete the process with the credit opportunity. Without a word, he returned the trumpet without mentioning the credit opportunity. When I asked about it, he said “Sorry I already returned it. I can’t do anything about it.” This employee scammed me, and his response was a pathetic excuse of an apology. I am incredibly disappointed. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Purchased a viola starter pack at a school rental night. Was told it would be delivered to the school within a few days. It is now more than a month later and my kid never got the starter pack. To top it off the customer service line does not answer the phone. I sent an email to see if I could get it resolved and the same day I got a random $30 charge on my credit card. This has been a very frustrating experience and my daughter still has no viola pack!
14. Piano Pathways of Colorado, Inc.
Address: 10143 W Chatfield Ave Suite 3, Littleton, CO 80127 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Great experience piano shopping. I decided as a 46 year old adult that I wanted to learn to play piano. We found a wonderful piano thanks to Michelle and Angie and their expertise. The process was smooth and easy with delivery just days later. I love their mission with their business and loved knowing I was helping. A year later not only had I learned to play I was in love with playing and used their trade up plan to upgrade to an even better piano. I am now happily playing daily on my beautiful forever piano and I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommend!!
We LOVE our new piano. It sounds so full and rich in our house. I love to have the kids practice while I make dinner. Pathways was so good to work with. They let us come and try out all the pianos so we could choose the one that fit the whole family. And we recently had the recommended tuner come to check on it, he was great. Thanks.
Owner doesn’t get customer service
Bought a piano and had issues shortly after. They sent a tech to my house to assess the situation, but never got back to me. Ended up having to fix it by paying out of pocket.
15. EZPAWN
Address: 3496 S Federal Blvd, Sheridan, CO 80110 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
My experience was fantastic, employees were great and fantastic customer service
Bought a bundle of jewelry from Steve, he was very knowledgeable and got me set up for exactly what I needed. I’m very happy with my service. Highly recommend asking for Steve to help you shop.
Frank and Steve went out of there way 10 min before closing to help me they are very appreciated
You wait in line most the time, they wont buy your stuff for what you want but they are a good business with kind people just trying to make money like everyone else
Good staff with a good attitude. Very professional.
This location is one if the best in the state… They have helped us through a lot. Steve is a great employee! Hes super frendily and well help you to the best of his ability. Thank you guys so much ❤
Devin is a Liar. I asked him to hold a rifle for 24 hours. I offered to pay a deposit for it or put it on layaway over the phone even, sight unseen. He said he would hold it for me with just my name, never asking for a phone number or anything else. I showed up 2 hours earlier than expected from over 100 miles away. He told me that he sold it to another party because I didn’t leave a phone number, but I should try other ezpawn stores, as they might have one.
The ad is still up on armslist as well.
There’s better places to spend your money or get a loan, even some of the other ez pawns, don’t waste your time with this kind of people.
Rude customer service from Dakota
Just walked away with teary eyes like he was about to cry over the situation!
Poor service changing prices stating one price over the phone and saying a different peic when you get there the manager is a meth head mexican
16. Brightwood Music, llc
Address: 20 E Lakeview Dr #109, Nederland, CO 80466 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Last month, I was visiting Colorado from Minnesota and came across this music store. The owner was fun, knowledgeable, and accommodating to my indecisions. Based on my experience, I know that Doug sticks to his word, stands behind his pricing, and will likely find a way to sneak in a deal for you.
It was a pleasure interacting with Doug and I will be visiting Brightwood Music the next time I am in Nederland.
Grateful our mountain town has a music store that supports the local schools and emerging musicians.
Had a great time visiting this music shop. Knowledgeable and friendly service. Beautiful instruments. Don’t pass up this shop.
Absolutely rude and awful shop keep. “Just leave me alone ” is not what one expects when inquiring about a guitar. Came in looking for a mandolin and had to leave right away. Very upsetting. Never visiting again.
Drove 600 miles to buy a uke from this guy. He was in the middle of a lesson when we walked in and was immediately peeved. I picked up the uke from the bottom shelf and it slid out of my fingers 4″ to the floor. He barked, “Be careful!”. We walked out.
17. Monkton Guitars
Address: 1505 W 1st Ave A, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Great shop with exceptional, personal service!
Much better experience than shopping at Guitar Center!
Absolutely fantastic experience. These guys are so knowledgeable and helpful, incredible selection of gear, and made sure we left happy and satisfied. They helped us with a repair as well as a trade in and both worked out extremely well. We will always be going back to Monkton for our guitar needs!
After some questions about the store schedule I was finally able to visit this store and boy was it worth it. Really cool guitar selection, very welcoming environment (owner was not there but I’m definitely looking forward to meeting), we jammed out for a while and I walked out with a new Epiphone acoustic guitar. Probably one of the best experiences I’ve had in a guitar store. Will definitely return!
Update: Two years later and I was able to meet the owner, Dave.
The atmosphere is still as welcoming as I remembered and everyone goes out of their way so you can walk out with the right guitar for you. “Other Dave” helped me out with my selection and I couldn’t be happier. Monkton Guitars is the best!
great place to try and buy, they know their stuff and are super nice and willing to help you find what you’re looking for. they have great recommendations and will let you play whatever for however long. very cheap for repairs and guitar work, much cheaper than other places. got my frets leveled/crowned and it sounds fantastic, however they did kind of gauge/scratch the neck on several frets. sucks, but not a huge deal as it’s not a high end guitar and the price was right ($60). again, sounds great but i would be weary of bringing a higher end model in as they weren’t very careful about taping off the neck to avoid cosmetic damage.
Best shop around!
do not take your guitars here for repair! simple jobs will end up being 2 hours in labor charges. they will take your working guitar and send you home with a non-working guitar. they will mix up the wiring on the pots. they will give you pots too large so your knobs have a huge gap underneath. unbelievably unprofessional and incapable.
EDIT: The business response is not a fair respresentation. First guitar, volume pots wired backwards. Second guitar, repair only lasted the car ride home. Second fix only lasted the next car ride home. Third fix, incorrect tone mapping and too large of pots. Every single trip a problem. Why would I go back?
18. Goodwill Store & Donation Center
Address: 3100 S Sheridan Blvd STE. J, Denver, CO 80227 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
Pretty cool stuff, prices are great, plenty of parking, well organized, and friendly faces. Wouldn’t mind coming back if we are ever in the area.
It’s always clean and organized when I go. Employees are friendly too.
Great deals and great clothes mostly
Fit was ninewest cool
Great place and well organized book, nice place to increase your knowledge.
The way the clothing is organized by size leads to non plus size pants being grouped in the wrong section. I have been in the store 4 times on the last 5 days and eveytime there a pants that are clearly too small for the section hung in the 14-18 sections. Hopefully the attached pic can help those who stock the racks.
Way over priced all good donations are kept by employees they sell broken electronics with knowledge and do not care worst goodwill yet
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!!! Fitting rooms are closed but they won’t tell you that until after 10 mins of you standing there ringing the door bell and employees looking right at you! If something doesn’t fit you’re pretty much screwed no cash back store credit only what a JOKE
This donation center is a joke! They only want bags of stuff. We went and asked them if they take couches and entertainment centers. When we arrived Darrell looked at the oak entertainment center which is old but in perfect condition with stained glass doors and said No I’m not taking that it’s too heavy! He said he wouldn’t take the couch because it also is too heavy!
We offered to carry it into the center And he still said no! The couch is old also but nothing wrong with it no rips or anything comes from my Moms she’s 70 years old so nothing was wrong with either of the furniture prices!
They are now sitting on the driveway hopefully someone takes them or large item trash they will go! Someone could have had some great condition furniture and goodwill could have made some $.
19. Guitar Hut
Address: 1385 Forest Park Cir #106, Lafayette, CO 80026 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
My son is 16. He paid for his guitar and amp there and I’m paying for his lessons. He really loves it there. Great service too. They really take the time to help you figure out the best options for you!
I went in to have a guitar looked at and have some repairs done. The repair guy, Evan, had just left for the day when I arrived. Gillian still had the store open and called Evan, and he gladly came right back to the shop to help me out! Both Evan and Gillian well extremely helpful. They were both very knowledgeable and willing to share information on how to take better care of my instrument. Not like a lot of these other places you go where everything is a secret or you have to pay for information. The work I needed done was simple but Evan explained everything as he worked right in front of me. He only charged me a few dollars for the repair. Then we jammed for half an hour before I had to take off. The absolute definition of excellent service!! I would give them more stars if I could! I will be back guys, thanks again!!
I had these guys take a look at a signature bass of mine. It had some electrical problems going on with it that were a bit out of their knowledge base but Evan is great guy. Very honest and very hard working. I will return with any other problems I have in the future and I would recommend them. Their pricing is very fair and they are willing to help out customers any way they can.
I called to sign my boys up for guitar lessons and had a few options worked out and was told I would be called back to confirm which times worked. I never heard back. Then, when I called back to confirm options, I was told they didn’t have any of my information logged and there were no longer any time slots available for lessons.
Everyone I have met there seems very nice, but very poorly organized.
20. Andy’s Frozen Custard
Address: 3505 River Point Pkwy, Sheridan, CO 80110 , Sheridan , Colorado , United States
These guys are fast. Yummy yummy frozen Custard in a flash
They have so many options for any cold treat with chocolate or vanilla frozen custard
So many options can’t wait to try ’em all!
Delicious.
Good custard’s, good tea, good time
Tasty custard, huge selection of toppings/mix-ins, but a little on the expensive side. This is one of those once in a while treats for the whole family.
Very clean, staff are nice, ice cream is DELICIOUS
Just wish they had a table or two there so people could sit in that big amount of space
I’m from where the original Andy’s is located and have been going to Andy’s my entire life. But today I had hands down the worst experience there. They still had signs up for the blackberry concrete but to my surprise, they had stopped serving that seasonal flavor weeks ago. I decided to go with the blueberry concrete with a hot fudge jackhammer. The blueberries tasted stale and rubbery, the jackhammer only went down the top 1/4th layer of frozen custard and they had prepared it so that it was instantly melting all over me. Not only am I heartbroken for having my first negative Andy’s experience, but I drove 30 minutes out of my way to treat my favorite sweet treat craving. I left not satisfied and the staff there was below the standard of service Andy’s is know to have. Looks like I’ll have to return to Missouri for exceptional service and a properly made concrete.
What a rip off. $5 for a tiny cup that might contain 6 ounces of soft serve? Sorry, but no. Not again at least.
Last trip a month ago resulted in two free desert cards. This was result of a cookies that were not cooked but microwaved in the plastic cup then custard in top. Today I ordered 5 dessets was charged for 6 and then they only applied one free desset. What a joke. Eat at your own risk!
