If you want it done right, take it to Wallace Music. They restring, repair, and setup guitars and other stringed instruments. You can also get lessons on guitar and mandolin.
Mike Wallace is my go-to guy for all of my guitar and amplifier servicing needs. I have known him for over twenty years since he was working at Bowlby Music, and my experiences with him have always been positive. From everything as simple as getting picks to restringing a guitar all the way up to replacing the filter capacitors in my 1968 Fender Bandmaster, Mike is the one that you want working on your gear. A Triple Plus service and quality!!!

They said they couldn’t give me a rain check on some bear soup because there were other kinds out there. I said I didn’t like the other kinds, just the vegetable beef. She said she couldn’t, which was a lot of bull.
Meat department is fantastic. Restaurant is fantastic. Liquor store manager Cannot be trusted at anytime. I ordered a 1/2 barrel keg for Christmas. Called to see if it was in. I was told they only had a 1/6 barrel. Not happy at this point but went up to discuss with the manager Ryan. I was told that they tried to order a half barrel but STERN’s was out so I had only the 1/6 barrel available. I got home called Sterns and they said they had 3 in stock. Called Moline AOC location and asked them to order me one. Within 5 minutes they called back and said it would be there for pickup tomorrow morning. Silvis and Ryan have forever lost my trust and business. I will be traveling over to Moline from now on

I wish the correct holiday store hours had been posted online. The website claimed the store would be open until 6p. I assume now that those are the regular hours for a Wednesday night. My family drove in to pick up a Christmas present only to find the place closed before 3:30. It put a huge damper over the holiday.

Overpriced and rude employees. Go to West music instead! Employees there are friendly and helpful! Bought a violin string and charged me nearly double than what I pay at West music. Stay clear from this store. When I returned the string, the guy who did the return was very rude and condescending. I won’t ever do business with them again.
Very strange experience. They did the school instrument trial with my wife and daughter at school. The sales guy convinced my wife to sign a several thousand dollar contract that specified almost nothing but a high interest rate and payment information. On the instrument line, it only said “French horn Eastman EXC”. No model information. My wife was under the impression it was rent to own for a NEW instrument. But the info line said “exc.”, like a used instrument rating. Lo and behold the brochure says the rent to own option isn’t new. Felt like a potential bait and switch.
I called to ask questions. First person said it “must be for a rent to own on an excellent condition horn”, but wouldn’t say new and transferred me. Second guy on the phone was nice enough, but kept giving indirect answers to my questions. I had to press for specific information, which slowly morphed into a specific new model.
The whole situation felt like it was either extremely poorly managed or thoroughly designed to take advantage of people that don’t know much about instruments. Either way, I’m out. I got a WAY better instrument deal elsewhere, could have financed better on a credit card even. Only advantage to using Griggs might possibly be some sort of damage insurance inclusion. I saved so much money, it doesn’t matter though. I’ll go to the instrument trial with my next kid and check them out again with lots of trepidation. In fairness, the straight purchase option with them was a pretty good price, if you wanted to go that route.

What a great place! Their coffee is good and the food menu is complete with delicious sandwiches, salads and other stuff. The staff are helpful and nice. The best part is the cafe itself, it is beautiful and modern, it makes you want to stay the entire day. Great for working, hanging out or enjoying a cup of coffee. Prices are low and products are high quality.
Nice laid back atmosphere, plenty of great seats and good coffee specials.
Visiting from Chicago and stumble upon this coffee spot. Customer service is good. The prices are on the pricey side. I would say their prices are closer to what you would find in downtown Chicago. My bf and I work from home and we stayed in this coffee shop for about 4hrs. The Wi-Fi is also great!
Over worked baristas (felt sorry, for them)….a lot of people in line left…servce slow….needs to be cash friendly
I stopped at the new Davenport store today for a quick business meeting and lunch. The atmosphere and location are nice, and my latte was great. My $8 Hot Ham & Cheese was a huge disappointment, though. It consisted of a packet of Buddig ham slapped between two pieces of Wonder Bread with some questionably-textured shredded cheese melted on top. For a coffee shop that was created by architects and artisans, I definitely did not get the impression that artistry was considered in the making of this sandwich. I’d come back for coffee, but not food.
Extremely upset I lost both of my drinks because I could not get a good hold on their drink carrier lost $16 in coffee do to this and am not happy they need different carriers for just coffee
Man I used to love it here but they raised their prices dramatically & no longer do punch cards – I just paid $8 for an 16 oz iced chai? Oof.. bummer, won’t be back

We went here to get a guitar for my son for Christmas. Alan, the owner, was patient and knowledgeable, giving great information about the manufacturers and price ranges. We liked the place so much that we ended up leaving with 2 ukuleles for my other 2 kids.
I’ve had two setups and some minor electronics repair done by AM. Both times they were friendly and helpful. Equally importantly, they did great setups for a very reasonable price. Great to have a shop like this available in the area.
Took my electric acoustic in for a set up and jack adjustment. Had it back to me the same day! Can’t rave enough after disappointing service at other shops. Very knowledgeable and fair prices.
Always friendly and courteous. Guitar set ups are relative, depending on what your preference is. I’m used to Paul Munden’s low action setups with perfect intonation, but he’s in Texas now. Paul’s skills with guitars around here is legendary, he was offered a job by Fender guitar because of his skills, so it’s not fair to make comparisons to him. Set ups at AM’s shop have been ok but not great. The price for his set up has always been at the high end of the spectrum. And I found that extra work would be done without asking me first, that I did not ask for, which raised my bill. So started taking my guitars elsewhere but brought my amps into AM.
I recently took my fender vintage tube amp in because it would cut out on me off and on. After a few weeks the amp was finally ready. When I went to pick it up I was told the problem was just a loose socket. But Alan decided to do a mod on my vintage amp that cost a lot more money without contacting me first and asking me if I wanted it done. I was told that he is getting out of the amp repair business because it takes time away from his guitar work. I have no problem with that, but when I noticed I have a cricket sound after I got it back home and contacted him to see if he could see if it had anything to do with his mod, he dismissed it and said he told me he used it for teaching sessions after his repair and never noticed the cricket sound so it must be a new problem. And then told me again he doesn’t repair amps.
I’ve been a professional salesman for a Fortune 500 company for over 28 years. I went out of my way for my customers and busted a gut to make them happy, and gone the extra mile sometimes at my own expense. Nice guy at AM, but under the surface seems more concerned about the money.

Pawn Queen has terrible customer service. If you have anything BRAND NEW don’t bother with this place unless you have a receipt. What a ridiculous policy. I have brand new Bose headphones and they refuse to look at them because I don’t have a receipt?? If I had a receipt I wouldn’t be bothering with this sad place. If they want your business, they sure don’t act like it. All they sell is junk here anyway. Any new item would definitely look out of place here. Also, It wouldn’t hurt if the staff took some etiquette lessons and stop acting so rude. Anyway, if you got anything NEW, sell it online or bring it somewhere else cuz they don’t want it here…

Thad and Shumaker Guitar Works completed a project for me I’ve been waiting months to complete. Not only did he take my idea and did what I thought would be insane but he took it over the top and knocked it out of the park! Could not be happier with how it turned out. This shop reneged on a purchase that we had negotiated for 3 guitars and 2 amps. Reason given was that he had thought about it for the 4 days after the agreement was made and just couldn’t make enough from the deal. Unfortunately, that delay put my college-bound son without time to get these sold before heading back. That is a huge blow to a student, no matter how cool everybody was about it.

I suppose I should have done research before coming here. I expected a sit down restaurant. It’s basically steak and shake without the table service, but nicer chairs. My burger was insanely greasy and the milkshake I got was nothing worth writing home about.
What really ticked me off was the fact that I wasn’t given napkins with my greasy burger, and I guess u expected the kid who brought me my burger to do more than just that. So when I asked him for napkins after flagging him down, he replied, “they’re at the counter” well… I guess I shouldn’t ask for any type of service here apparently.
No ketchup on the table either. All that was there was salt and pepper.
Nothing to write home about and certainly their service needs an upgrade.
