La tienda tiene gran surtido de acordeones y tambien me sorprendió que tienen vihuelas y guitarrones para mariachi. El servicio es muy bueno y las reparaciones que le han hecho a mi guitarra han quedado excelente.
Really nice place. First time there and it was a great experience with good customer service and walked out with what I was looking for really recommend this store for your according needs or guitar needs. Really great place
Great customer servicea and very friendly. Helped me get my first button accordion. Great quality instruments.
2. Gravity Music Gear
Address: 6487 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80221 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
Professional staff very competitive prices for used gear and I always leave happy ! You guys rock !! Thank you gravity music !
Awesome shop. Friendly Staff and great deals.
Awesome staff super friendly and great prices! If your in that area I recommend stopping by
Better than it used to be, but it still feels like a glorified pawn shop. I think their goal is just to move gear as quickly as possible. I swapped an amp for a Strat they had, and one of the tone controls didn’t even work. Not a big deal, as I upgraded all the wiring anyway, but you can tell they don’t really go through the gear to make sure everything is functional. They had a fairly beat vintage Boss CE-2 they were asking top dollar for, and one of the knobs was falling off. Seems like you’d take the time to at least tighten up a set screw before attempting to sell a vintage pedal. The guys there are nice enough, but don’t seem particularly knowledgeable about gear. Also, I found it interesting that they turned around and listed my amp for $1400 on Craigslist when it costs less than $1200 brand new.
Nice place with good prices on used gear. Would’ve been 5 star if their trade-ins were a little more competitive price wise but still worth checking for deals.
Kind of like a pawn shop that only sells instruments. Some things are great prices, others are not. You have to know what you are looking for.
Lots of gear and equipment, but as others have mentioned it seems to operate more like a pawn shop than a real music store. Asked me if I wanted “cash or trade value” before making me an offer or even looking at the amp I brought in. When I responded that that depends on how much difference there would be in the cash vs trade offer, they reacted like that was a weird thing to say… Not, you know, how virtually every other buy/sell/trade store operates. They told me the ‘amount would be the same, but if I did trade they would maybe work with me on the price of something I was interested in.’ They made me an offer, which I felt was a bit low, so I ended up taking it to another local store and was offered twice what Gravity had offered, so sold it to them instead. Leaving 2 stars because they were attentive and friendly, just not a shop I’ll make the trek to again.
They are not very fair when it comes to the price they want to pay for your things.
Called up gravity on the phone to see if it was worth my time to drive out. They wouldn’t give me an offer over the phone but said I wouldn’t be disappointed.
Loaded everything up my in car and they quoted me about 25% of what everything was worth. Huge waste of time. Probably easy cash if you don’t know what your stuff is worth. Offered pennies for my brand new moog grandmother.
3. Mi Vida Strings LLC
Address: 3702 W 72nd Ave, Westminster, CO 80030 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
Eric was great we took my granddaughter’s violin in and he was very Informative and fixed it with no problem. Definitely will be back
Nice to have someone I trust with my children(bases) and Eric is that guy. He’s been providing solid service to me for years.
The place to go for string instruments and repairs. They were highly recommended by many professionals.
Low-ball offer on a expensive violin I was trying to sell
In the past 6 weeks I have called and left a msg twice with no return call. Says open till 2 on Sat so we made the drive, here at 1:30 and not open. I’m sure it’s a great place to get this donated violin fixed but well never know.
We arrived during business hours and no one was present so the hour and a half drive was wasted because they couldn’t bother to be there
Clearly laid out store. Sabato was terrifically helpful. We got the help we needed pretty quickly without feeling rushed. Everyone was very nice and willing to answer my questions.
Cool place. Lots of guitars.
Friendly guys.
Covid-19 had changed the guitar center experience for the worse but these guys were helpful and friendly…just not as much freedom.
27 calls 0 answer… So I’m here with 4 other people and we all called the store for 30 minutes straight and none of us got an answer it just hangs up after a bunch of rings. I’m just trying to ask for a part before driving there.
Tried again and again and again and again.
You guys really screwed me with curbside pickup.. I waited 2 hours for someone to pick up the phone after placing my order and still no answer! Not to be mean but seriously? I haven’t even gotten a confirmation email and I literally have no one to talk to the issue about as of right now. This Guitar Center is not on it.
absolutely no one to assist any possible customers. lame!
Friendly, expert staff! Nice variety of music supplies. They are eager to help out and can order-in anything you need.
Very helpful
Organized and clean nice staff they don’t buy instruments
Was able to buy a great violin
I am a music teacher. This is my go to for lesson books for my students.
Horrible, horrible experience. Over charged and refused to refund. Then said the only way to resolve the issue was to return the students instrument in the middle of the school year and find a different rental. If it was possible I’d give negative stars.
New saxophone from guitar center, 300 bucks. Used saxophone from music and arts 1130 dollars are they serious???
Walked in, no hello, no what can I help you with. Walk over to case where violins are which is right in front of the 2 men and I guess I must have been a ghost because I wasn’t acknowledged. So not even going to waste my time.
8. Wedgles Music & Loan
Address: 1122 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
Great choice of guitars and many instruments in general.
This is an awesome place you never know what you will find here , beautiful vintage guitars can be pricy but I have purchased several guitars from the 70s here for under 200 bucks, so many times I’ve lost everything and needed a cheap but great sounding guitar to perform I have found one here , I have also loaned guitars here for a very fair buy back price, I recommend checking them out for mandolins , guitars, bass , or even orchestra instruments (cello, viola, violin). Thanks wedgles
Wedgles rocks! I have always been treated with respect here and I return the favor. They know the value of things and a lot of people attach their feelings to an undesirable guitar or “vintage/antique violin.” It’s worth what it’s worth folks in the real world. No matter how special YOU think it is. I have bought instruments here for 30 years and will continue to do so. Don’t be an idiot, and you won’t get treated like one. Kind of the same way the world works everywhere else.
I was in today 9/12/12.
As usual they were a bit busy, but said hi, and I wandered around.
I try to vist Wedgles any time I’m in Denver, and I’ve always been treated with respect, had questions answered and everyone was friendly.
I am sure, given their location, that they get the dregs of society in there on a far too frequent basis, and if you’ve ever worked in retail you know how difficult it can be dealing with the regular public, let alone those down on their luck.
I think these guys do a good job in a small space with difficult customers at times.
They are knowledgable, but I doubt any of them know everything about everything!
I don’t know about the bad comments other than that when a customer has a problem he will usually tell ten people, but when everything goes well, no one is the wiser.
If in doubt, stop in for perhaps the best selection of GOOD used guitars and instruments in Denver. While there today I saw 5 or 6 Fender Telecasters, a number of Gibson acoustics, a carved top or two, etc. Also some inexpensive lap steels (try to find a lap in a pawn shop!) and a few good quality tube amps.
Give these guys a shot, and ignore the whiners!
Great little wheeln’ dealn’ music store. Have picked up some great used drum mics here. Not the greatest hours though, they close right at 5 everyday and closed on Sundays
I absolutely love this place the staff are Amal and they ALWAYS treat my possessions with care. Also very understanding and work with me on my loans too thnx Wedgels you ROCK!!!
The employees make you feel unwelcome. If you want people to buy your used stuff perhaps you should let them play it
Guy was not nice would not let me see the guitar he said he was not going to get guitar down if I wasn’t going to buy
Closed on 2:30 on Monday. I came down on the bus to a closed store
You literally can’t get any better when Jess works with you from the gate. She makes you feel like family as she walks you through the Colorado Sound experience. Sincerity and professionalism are characteristics of the teams approach to achieving your maximum potential as an artist and there is nothing she won’t do to let you know your music here is their highest priority.
The whole spot is warm and comforting. It’s perfect to put you in the right atmosphere to make a great product. Whether your in studio A, B, rehearsal or webcast room- you’ll be impressed with their top notch gear and amazing audio design.
I personally recorded with engineer Jesse O’ Brian and I got beyond what I was looking for. He took my songs and made them go further than I ever could have dreamed. They sound like the artist’s I want to be a part of! I really can’t believe it, Thanks Jesse! I’m glad I choose the producer package.
Before you go anywhere else in Denver, whatever style you are, call Jess for a tour here. They are affordable, modern, and the real deal. They are versatile talented musicians themselves so they understand, care, and will stop at nothing to make sure your music shines because they’ve been there. When it comes to mixing and production- they have “IT.”
I am mcPlainWayne and I approve this message. 🙂
Great Sound Studio Great People Great Atmosphere
Thank you for playing such a fantastic variety of music. I spend a lot of time in my car for work and not having to hear Guns n Roses every 10 minutes is a blessing. I’ve been a fan of Calexico since 2005 and hearing them on your station is a treat. Kudos.
Nice!
13. Olde Town Pickin’ Parlor
Address: 7515 Grandview Ave, Arvada, CO 80002 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
Is it worth traveling over 1000 miles to buy a guitar (or two!)? Yes! The selection and expertise is just fantastic.
Been using this shop for repairs and setups for about 10 years now. I also frequent the store whenever I’m in town. Always a pleasure
Always a great place for string instruments. Outstanding repair shop. Very knowledgeable with years of experience.
The shop is beautiful!
Fabulous selection but pricey.
Knowledgeable owner.
I attempted to get my daughters violin finger positions taped prior to her concert tomorrow and the tech person on staff was not able to help but did suggest a couple other shops.
Give this place a pass if you’re looking for violin or fiddle things. Not much selection and the main dude at the counter seemed very offput when I asked about them. The other guy working was really nice though.
I was looking forward to visiting, but after this experience it is highly unlikely I will ever go back. The guy working the counter today could not have cared less that a customer was in the store and interested in guitars. I tried to engage him in conversation, but he had zero interest in chatting with me. Thoroughly unimpressed. I have a hard time believing they will be able to stay in business if this is how most of the people who try to shop there are treated. I love to support local businesses, but unfortunately this won’t be one I support in the future. If you need anything guitar or music related, you’re probably better off finding another place to shop.
14. Flipside Music
Address: 2231 S Platte River Dr, Denver, CO 80223 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
In a world where it is increasingly difficult to actually put your hands on gear before buying it, Flipside is an awesome resource. They have a huge pedal selection and they are super knowledgeable about every one of them. I’ve been friends with the owner for over 30 years. He’s a stand up guy that’s honest and fair priced. I buy almost all my gear from him. If he doesn’t have it, he can get it. Go see them.
Love these guys, great service and selection
Highly recommend Flipside Music! The staff is super knowledgable and friendly, store is stocked with a great selection. I purchased an acoustic guitar for a Christmas gift and it was one of the easiest purchases I’ve ever made!!
Best service in this category
Pretty good store with decent prices
Very knowledgeable staff and unique instruments
Overly expensive and also lots of homeless people hanging outside on the street near by. It’s a dump.
15. Flesher Hinton Music
Address: 5890 W 44th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
The best place to get what you need. Service dept is tops and they are honest and fair with pricing and get the instrument back to you quickly. Even after several visits the quality and treatment is excellent. This is only shop that I will go to.
As a professional saxophonist and mother to two high school musicians I rely on Flesher-Hinton for tune-ups of our instruments. The service team always comes through for me, often taking time to see if there are easy fixes on the spot. I am grateful and impressed with the service, knowledge and kindness of the staff! Highly recommend.
So I’m not in Denver and I have a instrument at my school and the guy ( Andy) comes to my school every month to help us get our instruments fixed
There’s parking at the new location. Really reasonably priced supplies. Not the best selection for buying instruments though. Since their relocation, seems they’re putting more emphasis on instrument repair. Still probably the best music supply shop in the area
Like always the services people were just great.
The people employees are professional, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
As with any store like this, you can expect them to be salesmen, though they don’t push too hard and don’t avoid helping you find the lowest priced items.
The technicians are great, but I wish they had a bit more enthusiasm.
If you are testing out brass instruments or such, the practice room they put me in had too much reverb to get accurate samples, even with a recording device. I have yet to ask if they had a more acoustically dry room.
They can order sheet music and products, and have all the basics and many accessories for band musicians.
Just terrible experience! Purchased a new wood clarinet 5 months ago. Found out it was cracking, unfortunately happens if not taken care of, but not in the first 5 months.
Took 2+ months to fix, when we finally picked it up, some old guy in the store started telling my 16 year old daughter about keeping it greased every six months- lecturing her because it was so dried out! Finally stepped in and told him…we bought it here less than 5 months ago…in other words, you sold an old dried out clarinet for $2000.00. Will never ever step foot in this store again d/t the service dept.
Went in to check out acoustic guitars earlier today. Got an important call as I was about to tune a guitar I was checking out and the guy behind the counter just starts blowing into some sort of wind instrument seemingly deliberately because taking a quick phone call. So I hung up the guitar and just walked out.
But the guy who welcomed me when I walked in seemed nice.
16. Rocky Mountain Music Repair
Address: 2150 W 6th Ave E, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They did a great job swapping out a lead pipe on my main trumpet, will definitely use their services in the future.
Professional, patient, and friendly staff.
Great service! Quality instruments! Knowledgeable staff! I love this place!
Looking for a bell cover for wife’s French Horn. Wife got a call today from Rocky Mountain Music that bell covers came in today. And can pick up anytime.
It took a while and it’s pretty expensive, but they did a great job fixing up my horn, definitely worth it.
I was originally disappointed in sub-par work, but I’m pleased with the final outcome. The tech who made the mistakes no longer works there and the owner made things right in a jiffy. I give the business proper credit and thanks for that.
I paid for repairs to two trombones including a slide job—tricky work on my antique King Liberty 2B. Pandemic issues prevented me from testing at pick-up, but the tech showed me the results at the counter. Cosmetic dent repairs weren’t as good as I’d hoped, but I let that go. The slide dragged hard and remained very noisy, but the tech assured me it was perfect and only appeared suspicious because he’d just stripped it clean. “It’s perfect; I promise.” It was an hour before closing on the eve of a long holiday and my family was waiting in the car, so I accepted the excuse, took the horns, and left.
When I broke out that horn months later, it was unplayable. The slide was still totally dented, the new end stops pushed out the slide so far that the lock had to be loosened to the verge of falling off to hold it shut, and the extra length made it play flat with the tuning slide fully closed.
I discovered this late Friday night before a Saturday gig where I’d planned to use it, and I left a 1-star review lamenting that I’d trusted that tech and neglected to test it sooner, and that I was sunk since they’d just closed for the weekend.
To my shock, the owner called me first thing Saturday morning and offered to make it right. He fixed it and returned it to me in time for the gig that afternoon.
I wrote that I’d update the review if they made it right. They did, I did, and I think we’re all happy now.
I will definitely give them my business again—especially since the tech who made the mistakes is no longer on the payroll.
Terrible establishment. Extremely unfriendly, unknowledgeable staff and very over-priced.
17. Rockley Music Center
Address: 4880 N Robb St #1, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 , Sherrelwood , Colorado , United States
All my visits have been very good. You have good people here, they treat customers very well. Thank you for being here.
Such an awesome place. Cheap for world class quality. The owners are even nice. Their private music lessons are again cheap for the greatest quality. So many options for times because as we all know, especially when school’s in, it gets busy! Lesson times can go as late as 8 PM! Parking’s not a problem either, huge lot. For Piano lessons I highly suggest Joy Knipps. Learned how to play and memorize keys within 1 lesson and sight read staff notes in 3!!
Awesome family business!
We bought a “complementary piano tuning” at the silent auction for Jefferson Symphony Orchestra. We received a tuner, who tuned our Wurlitzer console, incredibly, by using only a 440 tuning fork–and his own good technique and hearing. Since it needed to come up, he did a general tune of the whole thing and then went back through to finish up.
Since I’d not had it tuned before, I had no idea it could sound so good! Being a string musician, I could tell it was in tune when the vibrations became clear on a particular note. That is when he would stop.
I was so glad he didn’t use a machine to artificially arrange the tones across the spectrum by dividing out from one pitch at the top to one at the bottom, as someone had done for us previously!
Chris was very helpful when I was having issues with my piano. He promptly got a technician out to my house. At first he did not discover the real issue with the piano, so it took some prompting on my part to get the technician to return and take a closer look at the piano. (This is the reason why I gave this review only four out of five stars) But after the technician came out again and took a closer look, he discovered the soundboard issue and Chris promptly ordered me a replacement piano. He also made sure to look it over himself personally to see to it that I was getting a very good replacement, better than my original piano. After it has been tuned, the piano is sounding beautiful and I am very appreciative to Chris for all of his extra effort in making me a happy musician once again. Thank you Chris and Rockleys.
Thanks For the Workshop
Great place to get musical instruments anywhere from pianos to keyboards to violins, and guitars. My brother has a couple guitars from Rockley’s which have served him well. My wife just bought a Roland Keyboard from here which was an excellent price for excellent quality!
What has been a wonderful neighborhood store has failed to change with the times. It is sad for me to see. What once was an enthusiastic staff, happy to great you and offer assistance have become sullen and inattentive. I have heard staff and even management blame it on the internet and Guitar Center. Guitar Center didn’t lure me in. Rockley Music Drove me there.
In this review,I am only referring to the guitar department.
Open by appointment only, hard to find, only has orchestral strings and pianos
Typical third generation silver spoon gyp. You walk in the door and every employee looks as though your very presence mortally offends them. I literally had to step in front of this particularly pathetic employee as he attempted to scurry away. Once he every so reluctantly showed me to the location of the manuscript paper I was there for, he rudely hurried us to the cash register without a word nor thanks. Sad really, you know the first generation that founded the organization had a very different attitude in their approach to customers and business in general.
