Burts is great. I trust them for instrument repair. The prices are very reasonable. The work is high quality and they get you your insteumwnt back quicker than expected. (Of course at the beginning g of the school year instrument repairs are crazy for everyone so plan ahead)
Excellent supplies & helpful service, great selection of instruments…Great place
Love these guys. Very reasonable for some repairs I needed on 2 of my guitars. They know what their doing. Next week I’ll be leaving a 3rd guitar with them to make some necessary adjustments. Just plain nice people. Very down to earth guys.
Large music store with what appears to be very knowledgeable staff. I have an old guitar that needed some attention. They were very honest in telling me the cost to repair it was not worth it. I would be better off buying a new or a newer used guitar. But they also didn’t pressure me into buying one the same day I was there. One of the guys did adjust the truss rod slightly but this guitar needs much more work than simple adjustments. I’d recommend them for an honest evaluation if you an instrument that needs setup properly.
The music store to go to!
Over priced.
I have been a loyal customer and supporter of this local business for years. However my experience there for the past several years has been less than satisfactory. I have been made to feel as if I were a nuecense there by one of the shop owners I believe.
Unless this man is just a disgruntled employee which is the vibe that he puts out each and every time I have been there during the past several years.
I have never gone there only to browse and play instruments. I only go there to purchase musical items and support local business as I strongly believe in doing so being a small business owner myself.
This man puts out a vibe so foul and offensive that I vowed not to patronize this place ever again solely because of this.
This man acts as if he’s been awakened by a door to door solicitor at his home each and every time I have shopped there.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I will probably make this complaint known elsewhere so that the local public can be aware.
If one is either a proprietor or an employee at any establishment where intimate customer service is the foremost priority and that individual is vicious and repulsive with an obvious disgust for customers than they need not pursue that career any longer.
I have shared my honest feelings about this. THANK you for the platform
They fix guitars but your screwd if you got a Floyd rose. Other than that good store good people.
Bad experience

This place is by far the most friendly and most knowledgeable shop I have seen . The guy behind the counter is just straight up a cool guy .. I do plan on buying from them for sure .. they have awesome instruments and they do layaway !!. How cool is that ?!. Oh and they give lessons .. 5 star for sure !!.
Great range of instruments. Instructors are personable, and motivating. My son is excited about how much he has learned. He has added so much to his skills and confidence. Very thankful.
Very knowledgeable and very friendly. Definitely recommend!
Very helpful in finding items for your instruments. The instruction is top drawer.
4 stars because they do have a great selection, prices are fair, and the store is very clean and organized. The staff at first seemed helpful but then seemed impatient, as I was asked if I was ready to check out while I was still looking at guitars with an item in my hand. Caught me off guard as I felt rushed after only being in the store a couple minutes and wasn’t near the register. Other than that, they have a great selection of beautiful guitars and quality gear.
Never again will i rent here!!!! Very rude people running the counter and won’t take a cash payment!!! Thus place is not one I would recommend to anyone. Very sad
I came in a week ago to look around before I bought anything the people were nice and friendly and when I came back today I was ignored and treated like I didn’t exist so instead of buying a electric guitar and bundle you guys get this review and to the 4-5 people working there at the time it’s beyond rude to ignore someone then try to say something as there are leaving I felt discriminated against this was a first.
Edit
What a joke he didn’t say anything don’t try lying and make it seem like a misunderstanding. I wasn’t alone, so instead of lying and blaming me, look at your employees and try to figure out why they didn’t greet me or ask if I needed help.
guys who follow you around like desperate used car salesman…over priced equipment etc..
4. Discount Music Supply
Address: 5380 E Seltice Way STE C, Post Falls, ID 83854 , Shoshone County , Idaho , United States
This is my go to place for anything i may need for my band “Phil-N-the-Prescriptions”, or for my Karaoke “RockStar Karaoke”! They are the best!!
Never had a more helpful, respectful, polite and intelligent person help me decide the best decision I ever made
One of the best guitar stores I have went to I love the discounts you get there
Good deals decent service.
Good selection and reasonable prices
awesome place to pick up some guitar strings, drum head or whatever you need at a fair price. Plus they price match internet prices..
I made the drive out here from spokane based on reviews I thought it would be worth it to check it out. I got there at 3:44 and it was closed. I understand it’s in a sort of secret place but if you’re gonna close early you should maybe close around half an hour early rather than nearly an hour and a half early.
It’s really too bad these geniuses have the most ridiculous hours of operation. Tried to explain to their feeble minds that people that can afford to spend money on musical instruments are WORKING for a living. Nobody is going to take time off of work to go shop at this place. Open at a decent hour and I’ll shop there. In the last 4 1/2 years, I’ve spent approx. $5,000.00 ELSEWHERE as a direct result of their terrible hours. This I must say is regrettable as I would much prefer to keep the money here in Post Falls. Note: I’ve heard these jokers complaining that sales are very poor at that store. No wonder.
I am on tour with my band, and I am in dire need of some new sticks. We call the store around 5:30 pm to ask them when they close. They close at 6pm and we tell them we are on our way right then. Get there at 5:45 pm and they are closed. I mean, no one there, they counted out, gone. I know many musicians who tour around the area often and I have told them to NOT go to this store. Go to Burts.
Josh is an amazing talent. Whether you are looking for a guitarist for your band, event just looking to be entertained, Josh is both very capable and professional in every sense. Make sure to check out his talents whenever you get a chance, I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!
Josh Collins never ceases to amaze by excelling at so many things, his July, 2022 Beatles “Abbey Road” solo guitar performance included. His arrangements and delivery were mind blowing, to say the least.
Josh is a masterful musician on all fronts, an exceptional human, and awe inspiring guitarist! If you haven’t had the pleasure to hear his work, solo or otherwise…STOP, don’t panic, and go listen immediately. You’re welcome.
Josh we felt fortunate to see you perform in such a warm and intimate gathering at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural center. Your coverage of the Beatles Abbey Road album was special! And thank you for taking our request for our dear friend. Looking forward to hearing your talented playing again! Lisa and Kelly
7. Avatar Speakers
Address: 5872 N Government Way # 406, Dalton Gardens, ID 83815 , Shoshone County , Idaho , United States
I bought an Avatar cab on eBay. It was in LA. I had my sister pick it up. She lives there. On my vacation I drove down to visit and got my speaker. 1×12 with a greenback. I have a 15 watt Marshall 6V6 combo from the 80s. My gawd it sounds fabulous. Much better than the V30 in the little open back combo. Funny thing is I live 10 minutes from Avatar.
What a great dealer. Dave was fantastic to deal with. Fair pricing, quick shipping and excellent products. Top shelf.
These guys make some wonderful cabs. They look vintage. They sound superb. I will allways buy there cabs. The hellotone speakers they offer sound so good. But there’s so much more. Thank you avatar. For the wonderful cabs you make.
8. Wilburn Custom Shop
Address: 118-B N 2nd Ave, Sandpoint, ID 83864 , Shoshone County , Idaho , United States
Knowledgeable people, and extremely helpful. Nothing better than a great local family owned business. Repairs were speedy!
Great knowledgable staff and cool equiptment some of the coolest looking acoustic guitars!
I have a gifted guitar for my birthday and I just wanted to say, ThankYou it sounds amazing and good tone. Great practice guitar too great for jamming, I also bought an few percussion accessories, an also drum sticks which is worth it for the good quality they are still lasting, and good service. Amazing shop to visit when looking for good Priced instruments or learning the names of instruments.
Scott did a great job repairing the neck and frets on my strat. Friendly, knowledgeable, and honest service. This is a well stocked music store for any musician.
Met with a deaf, unfriendly, inhospitable musician. Prices are not marked and not open to add to the local music scene. Go elsewhere imo.
I recently bought a guitar and case and spent a good chunk of money. When I got home I was looking at the invoice and noticed they snuck in 3% fee on top of the 7% in taxes! This fee was for not paying in cash. The invoice said there is a 3% charge for debit or credit. This was an extra $20.46 that they did not tell me about. If I had known this, I would have paid cash. I was so excited about my new guitar I didn’t check the invoice before leaving. Plus, who does that! It reminds me of sleazy car dealership tactics to pad their profit hoping you don’t notice. It really surprised me they get away with this in such a small town. I will be going to Couer d’Alene for my guitar needs now. And like another post said, the vibe there is not good.
Family owned and ran by father daughter, won’t help you if you have cheap guitar and, supper opinionated about Taylor’s. Wish it could be cooler but does not pass vibe check.
Great drum- / percussion-focused shop in Sandpoint. I’ve found everything I need here, from shells and heads to thrones, stands, sticks, snare wires, etc.
Also taking lessons with Chris. I feel like I’m learning drums the *right* way, methodically and comprehensively. He’s thoughtfully adapted my lessons around my goals. I’m having more fun and playing more confidently – in a shorter amount of time – than I expected.
11. The Long Ear CDs & Vinyl
Address: 1620 N Government Way, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 , Shoshone County , Idaho , United States
Rad place. A dying breed. It takes me back to my youth. I try to hit it when ever I’m in CDA.
Excellent ‘record’ store
Great selection.
Great selection of new music on vinyl.
Really cool things you can’t find anywhere else. And lots of vinyl!!
Fun stuff, super helpful staff
I went here around 7 tonight and the person working was very disrespectful. Me and my mom accidentally dropped one of the toys and offered to pay for it (because the seal broke) and he just kept saying “well this is absolutely useless to us now” and continued to mumble and roll his eyes, and say some mean things. I love this store and just found it very disappointing someone who acts like this works there.
Refused service for no mask, even though Kootenai Health drop mandate.
This store has a huge music selection for traditional listening on records and Cds. Good friendly customer service two out of three times. The prices are pretty steep though as far as their gifts and novelties.

Best waffle ever. I’m not one for waffles but this one was the perfect mixture between crispy and sweet and soft. Really friendly and cute environment. Definitely coming back when I’m back in town. Even when they got busy they kept a fast paced environment and stayed friendly.
Great place for quick food and amazing
ice cream combinations. The staff are very friendly and acomidateing. Highly recommend stopping at if going through
PE ELL.
The ice cream treat is melted by the time you get your hot food.
These guys were amazing. We had them for my husbands 60th birthday party. They got a play list from us and made sure to use all the songs we wanted. Lot’s of DJ’s don’t allow request but these guys did. They were professional and on time. Hands down we will use them again.
Sean did an amazing job at our wedding, he created the perfect atmosphere with the music he provided, he went above and beyond working with us before hand to find out what we wanted!
They did an awesome job at my wedding!! Sean was very professional and played everything we wanted.. We didn’t have a wedding coordinator but he kept things moving and held the whole reception together. Would definitely recommend them and will use them again in the future!!
Wonderful instructors and great atmosphere! My spectrum/ ADHD kiddo loves his guitar lessons – they’re the highlight of his week!!!
Jacob is a very upbeat and engaging teacher! He was able to work around our limited schedule so we could learn. My kids are excited to start practicing after 1 lesson!
My husband and I won a free lesson on a Valentine’s contest on Facebook. Today, we meet Jacob and had an instant bond! He was an excellent teacher, very patient and made it fun. Looking forward to practicing the song he taught us. Highly recommend him to sounds looking to get guitar lessons started!
The instruction is 5 stars but I did have numerous billing issues that was frustrating. Hopefully its figured out.
20. Samson Music & Art Lessons
Address: 421 Coeur D Alene Ave L1, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 , Shoshone County , Idaho , United States
Jeff and his crew are top notch! I highly recommend.
Our 8 year old daughter has been having art lessons with Sarah for almost a year now. She has learned so much and Sarah is always so positive, kind and encouraging. Our daughter is always so proud of her work after each lesson and looks forward to the next. We have seen such a wonderful development in her skills since she first began her lessons. Sarah keeps her lessons very age appropriate so our daughter is able to easily follow along and actually retain the information she is learning and grow from it. Even with the current situation we are facing and not being able to attend in person classes, both Sarah and Jeff have allowed and helped us to easily adapt to a new way of learning online while still keeping the same great structure of face to face learning. We have never had an issue with scheduling and they have always been more than accommodating with rescheduling. We highly recommend Sarah to anyone looking to expand their art skills and knowledge and are grateful to have found her.
Jeff is an amazing teacher and very knowledgeable! He has been very flexible with our scheduling and excellent at communicating clearly with payments/times available. My son is learning so much about drumming. Thanks Jeff! I highly recommend this place for those wanting to learn how to play a musical instrument.
My son has been taking drum lessons with Jeff for a couple months and has really enjoyed it. He had been taking lessons somewhere else, but these lessons have been more educational, teaching skills he hadn’t worked on at his previous music school. Jeff is very laid back and easy to work with when scheduling lessons.
Buyer beware of music lessons here. I feel completely duped by the positive reviews, maybe they are all friends of the owner. Jeff was never prepared for our lessons and routinely forgot what we had worked on the previous week. Almost seemed like he just woke up from a nap. Lessons are all at his basement studio. He makes you sign an agreement that you won’t cancel within 24 hours or you will lose payment, but he cancelled on 50% of our lessons with less than 24 hours notice and I was nice enough to let him reschedule. I had a work emergency one time and he took the money for the lessons. This studio is expensive and poorly run. Find a different one.
