Seniors only. Learn to play keyboard. Cheap and fun
An absolutely amazing and different way to learn to play music. 6 weeks for $20, plus tax. Best value I have found to find out if you like learning to play the organ, which are actually Virtual Orchestras.
Friendly folks but it’s only an Organ Music Store. No other instruments. A nice gentleman did direct us in the right direction. Also, the store is on the left side of Publix, not by the UPS store.
I worked there years ago. It’s a scam designed to manipulate senior citizens into purchasing an inexpensive organ initially and then continuously pressuring them to buy the next tier up. Stay away from this place like the plaque!
Great staff and personality, if you need music lessons or a instrument this is the way to go
Always inviting and fair prices!
Very friendly. Parking is at the end of the line of buildings.
Matt was very helpful and the selection is great!
They have a good selection of guitars.
Sold me a broken guitar and the worker literally told me the owner would steal my guitar if I left it for repairs, but then offered to repair it for free. That’s not an exaggeration or misquote. They smoke cigarettes in store, prices are all double what any other store prices at, to even get a price for anything the worker has to attempt to get ahold of the owner Matt which can take hours. I only got my guitar back because I threatened a lawsuit. Seriously this is a horrible business and Matt is the type of guy to go to an open mic and play back to back covers of Wagon Wheel. Too bad he didn’t have the balls to reply to me, none of what I said is untrue and he can’t even bother trying to deny it.
Never paid me for a guitar and case left on consignment. One excuse after another. It’s only $120…they must be struggling…so beware
An old store with no selection, but they can order what you want in a couple days.
6. Parramore Music
Address: 304 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL 34470 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
I love this music store. I’ve been going here for over 20 years Chris and John are amazing helpful people.
I’m able to find music instruments and supply for my children. Keep up the great work.
Nice place and very helpful
Friendly service, not always trying to get you to buy something which is a big plus, and experienced staff.
everyone was super nice as they robbed me really.i mean they bought my gear about 3k worth they ga eme get thus 2hundred bucks o e of the guitars was a brand new kramer i felt robbed after i lwft stay away .just way to much greed here
Down to earth and professional.
Dont say you buy old musical equipments, if a 63 year ventage trumpet is not worth any thing more than a head shake and disrespectfull knowladge.
I brought my guitar in for minor pickup wiring. 7 days later they hadn’t touched it. I came back to get it and I wasn’t given a reason or an apology.
I would really love to give this place five stars, but… The thing is, even though they have a fabulous selection of guitars, (and I DO mean FABULOUS! After, all, I bought my Yamaha that’s in the pawnshop right now here, and I’m fabulous af ) they don’t have a fabulous way of treating people that look like me. Every time I walk in this place, the long-haired dude is so weird. You can just tell he’s waiting for me to pocket something so he can rush to the front and lock me in! Like, dude, I paid cash for one of your overpriced, mass- produced workhorse-guitars. I’m not gonna swipe some maracas while your back’s turned. I don’t even want to shop here anymore, which sucks because Guitar Center is hella far, but at least they don’t make me feel like I’m not welcome.
7. Sound Exchange Music
Address: 2906 NE 14th St, Ocala, FL 34470 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
Awesome staff!! great selection!! Highly recommend! 🙂
Don’t let the storefront fool you, it’s way bigger inside. Good prices and the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered. I wish I lived closer so I could visit more often.
Very courteous staff. Great prices on instruments.
Pretty much the only place within 50 square miles that carries synthesizers. The staff is always friendly and helpful
always helpful!
Very knowledgeable and reasonable prices
Owner is not a man of his word.. and tries to rip you off ..I prefer Guitar Center.
Their rental side needs a lot of work. Lots of problems: #1 Nearly 3 HOURS LATE to deliver tables and chairs for an event is unacceptable. I had to call the office repeatedly because I was not receiving any updates. The office told me they couldn’t reach their drivers that had the items loaded on their trailer (who were apparently in Belleview). It took my 4th phone call to check on the late delivery before I ever even received an apology. The delivery guys that showed up were rude and when I mentioned how late they were, their response was “we didn’t know we had a schedule to deliver these” which is ridiculous. I told them their office told me they couldn’t reach them and they said ‘they hadn’t received one phone call from them’. #2 They need help with their customer service – every time I called they were short and acted like I was bothering them – even my first time to ask questions. #3 Their new online system still has a lot of issues. I had to call the office to pay and to later make changes, because it wouldn’t let me log in (without getting error messages). And after all the issues, and the survey I submitted, I never once heard from a manager or owner to apologize.
Rating is based on one bad experience in this establishment. I arrived and was looking at starter bass yet they offered. I did not like the Amp that came with the set. I asked the gentleman that was helping if I could upgrade to a bigger bass and pay the difference, he explained he had to ask his manager. Another gentlemen came out who was nicely dressed and said he was the manager and he would allow me to exchange the bass for a upcharge. When I was ready to checkout another guy comes over rude and says he isn’t gonna allow it. When I explained the manager said he would do it. This gentleman very rudely said he doesn’t sign the paychecks I do. Now I have always lived by a couple major rules on being your only as good as your word. This establishment did not live by there word.
8. Music Store inc
Address: 141 S Highway 27 Building 159, Citrus Tower Blvd Center, Clermont, FL 34711 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
I bought my LP Studio from Music Store Inc before they moved, got a really good deal. I just found out they opened at a new location behind the Citrus Tower. Lots of nice instruments, definitely worth checking out if you need anything music related.
I have been bring my son to The music store for lessons since he was 7 years old. He is now 12, He has taken lessons from a number of the instructors and they have all been great with him. The owner Rick is great, he’s funny and really tries to engage his customers, no matter if it’s in conversation or educating them on facts about music education and the benefits of playing an instrument or learning music. I am at the store almost every Saturday and I’m glad that such an awesome place is in my community.
The entrance is hiding in the back but is a very good store!
Rick was warm & friendly & it seems to have a nice stock of instruments. Tucked in the corner of the Staples building so it’s easy to drive right by without seeing it. Very little sheet music for vocalists so if that’s what your looking for don’t bother. They have an open mic night every 1st Saturday so I will come to one & see what it’s like.
Left them guitar to glue the neck, the estimation was way above market, that’s OK. I’ve decided to go to other store but during pick up I found scratches here and there. Lucky me-made a video when I did bring a guitar the 1st time. I am just disappointed- waste a month and no result. They did polish and removed scratches (not all as I found out in another store). Not a bad store with various instruments new and used, I even bought a bass, but I do not trust their guitar master. Rick is a good guy but the master is a 3rd party that occasionally appears and takes guitars home, where I guess and damage mine.
Helpful, knowledgeable, affordable
Long drive for nothing…called in advance to ask if they had what I was looking for available, “yeah, come in and check them out” is what I was told. I even looked online to see what was available. Got to the store and the music was Soo loud! The guy finally came over to help and actually had no real knowledge what so ever about the product he was trying to sell. I went out of my way to avoid a big box store and shop local..a MUSIC STORE and I knew more about the product from what I had scoured on google/Amazon.
Ended up ordering something on Amazon as a shot in the dark at least it had data I could go off of.
Would never suggest stopping in for any music needs. Sad.
I dropped off my instruments for a tuneup. I was quoted $280 and I said of course! Never had a problem until I went to pick them up! Two individuals whom I’ve never seen before were at the counter. My instruments were sitting aside ready for pickup. I told the man who asked how much I was charged $280. He goes to the back, gets someone else and she never addresses me but questions him in obvious skepticism $280 for all of this? She proceeds to go in the back, as if she’s out of range of my hearing, to call the owner and verify if I was telling the truth. Why would I lie? $280 is not a little bit. Then she proceeds to say we just wanted to make sure because we weren’t told. I should have been able to come in with my tickets, ID, and money and pick up my instruments! Not have to wait because of whatever PREJUDICE these people feel! That exchange alone is why I’ll NEVER return here! I’ll pay whatever for my instruments.
Edit–Response:
Rick B.,
You are correct–you were NOT there. I am aware that you are the owner and as the owner you FAILED to communicate with your employees. Either way, there were failures through no fault of my own. I shared MY experience, which you were not present for and you have ADMITTED was your fault. SHAME ON YOU! This ought to be a learning lesson in communication so that these FAILURES do not happen again in the future! DO BETTER!
OUT OF BUSINESS!!!Waste of time!!! Drove over an hour only to find out that there is No Music Store. I called the owner who seemed nice enough, but that doesn’t pay for the price of gas that I wasted looking for something that doesn’t exist (over two hours round trip) Change your google information about your “store “ and let people know that you are no longer in business. I will never be a customer of someone who has no regard for the value his customers time. Let people know that you are OUT OF BUSINESS
9. Music Shack
Address: 702 S US Hwy 17 92, Longwood, FL 32750 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
Rent 2 musical instruments for 2 years at a good price, quick response every time I had a problem, insurance is highly recommended. When I finished and returned the instruments I had no problem, the instruments are of very good quality
It looks good. I only went to return an instrument.
We rent an instrument for our daughter from Music Shack. Music Shack offers great customer service and we have been very happy with the responsiveness!
We aren’t a musical family (we listen to it, we don’t make it.) but my 6th grader decided to try band. Knowing nothing we went to the Music Shack as it was on the recommend list from my daughters middle school. The woman who helped us was very nice and didn’t try to sell us the most expensive mouth piece for a tuba, knowing our daughter might not stick with it.
The other places I called about getting the items we needed charged 3 times the price. I realize that there is different qualities for the Bach 18, but the woman who helped us understood that $140 is a lot for something my daughter most likely won’t stick with. She also had everything else we needed and it was very quick and simple.
The only thing I could say that was slightly negative was a lot of clutter in the store. But that is more about personal preference than quality.
I purchased music here. It was OK.
Friendly staff, knowledgeable of their products, good variety for a small store.
Awful customer service. Sons middle school tried to push this business for band rentals. I called early on a business morning and Received their voicemail. I left a message and it’s been days where no one could handle to spend a few minutes to contact me back. I rather bring my money elsewhere.
Edited to respond to owner. Yes I’m aware everywhere is short staffed due to Covid. That’s why I was ok with waiting DAYS for a response but never got one. You did not hear my voicemail yesterday because like I said , I left it last week and have gone DAYS without the business following up. I was patient and understood that due to Covid I might not get anyone to answer their business phone immediately. I waited DAYS for the business to be able to catch up and respond to me but was left in the dark. If I can’t get a question answered before handing over my money, why would I trust that once you have my business I could get through to you for any rental issues in the future. Like I said I will seek other places.
Very disorganized, have you running all over the place to just get one simple equipment.
Went for sax repair. Took about 20 minutes just to drop off sax and purchase one item. Sax repair was overpriced and only partially complete. Was partially ready two days after promised. Phil, who does the repair kindly explained to me that it was my fault the repair was not complete and that for an additional fee he would complete the repair. Worst customer experience I’ve had in a very long time. Will not be back.
10. CornerStone Music, LLC
Address: 798 W Montrose St, Clermont, FL 34711 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
They’re really nice. The lessons are also nice. Recommend
Always a pleasure dealing with Pete and Chris. From beginner instruments to high end they always are well stocked, friendly and knowledgeable.
Why buy from a corporation when you can buy from a neighbor and friend.
Good place to take care of your musical needs
Great local shop, sharp staff reasonable prices
Nice guys. Quality guitars: affordable and high end
For the several thousands of dollars my family has spent at this business, I expect Pete to be friendly/pleasant towards us(at the very least), for life, but he clearly can’t maintain that. He started acting rude towards my mom some years back, and now me. For no apparent reason. I hope that keeping that sour attitude of yours is worth losing 20+ year customers who often went out of their way to spend money at your establishment and stay local. Weird way to treat people who earned you money. Avoid. He’s one of those guys who thinks everyone is a “democrat”. Super solid reason to push customers away.
11. Brand O’ Guitar Company
Address: 1920 Dolgner Pl, Sanford, FL 32771 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
We’ve requested several guitars from Brand O’ Guitar Company over the past few years. They’ve always been fantastic to work with. They provide excellent service and are very good communicators. Plus, their products are so fun! They’ve even gone above and beyond to help ship guitars across the country for our tradeshows, making sure they get there on time. Keep on ROCKIN’, Brand O’!
Jessica Bella and I are super impressed with the owner’s ambition and professionalism. We are excited to develop this relationship. 5-star first impression for sure.
Great family company that supports non profit organizations! Professional and quick turn around.
Got some guitar strings
12. Music & Arts
Address: 1673 WP Ball Blvd, Sanford, FL 32771 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
Took my son in because he needed new strings. I know nothing about guitars, so I called and I spoke with Aaron who was very knowledgeable and decided we’d go. Niko was super sweet and very helpful. Everyone that came in and out while we were there looked happy and Niko spent a good amount of time with my son going over everything and was truly helpful. This will be our music store from here on out. Thanks again!!
Excellant customer service. Clerks very helpful.
I thought I wanted a soprano ukulele. Trying to buy one was difficult for me because the large music stores had one or two models in stock. When I went to Music & Arts, Aaron sanitized my hands, and pulled out six different ukuleles. I listened and I strummed. Bouncing back and forth to each of the instruments took time, but Aaron on was patient and knowledgeable. He tuned all of the instruments and then he taught me how! Advertising low prices on line is what the big music stores do well, but that was worthless to me as a complete beginner. In the end, I bought a concert Laurel Canyon – on sale – a bag – on sale and a tuner – on sale. I happy!
It going to be cool
They would not return some unopened items we purchased while trying out an instrument. I had to return for a manager and push to get some of the items returned. All I wanted was credit toward a different instrument and even that was a challenge. Make sure you want to keep what your buying.
They are exceptionally nice!
Was a 5-star establishment previously. Unfortunately, with a new manager, Shane, loyal, long-time customers are no longer valued. Unfortunate.
it’s owned by guitar center, so expect bare minimum as far as stock. the crew itself is nice and helpful…not too knowledgeable on product stock but also not the most knowledgeable bunch. overall, it’s not the crews fault, but with good management you could make a place like this really shine, considering it’s the only music store in Sanford.
My child and I went here first before going to another local music store on recommendation. I dont usually post bad reviews but thought i must for anyone else having their child starting band. This place will try and pressure you into trying to buy whatever it is they have to sell for the week. the employees are rude and wont give you the time of day if you are there with just questions. not to mention the arrogance felt from them. save yourselves the time and find another store.
13. Guitar Center
Address: 3920 SW 42nd St Space B-2, Ocala, FL 34474 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
My granddaughter wanted to go thete. I w as s impressed with their inventory
Friendly service. Good prices.
Helpful and informative staff , great selection and very personable.
To pricey,
Great people
Had what I wanted just way over priced.
We just drove an hour from Clermont to buy a guitar and spent 30 mins on the phone with an employee. Never once were we told Masks are mandatory in the store. After being tested the day before and “Negative “. We were asked to leave because we would not wear a mask with a medical condition. America is being run into the ground with this #Scamdemic
Absolutely unacceptable and the Manager came out like he was ready to fight me over it! We left and will never set foot in another Guitar center.
Stood outside in 90 degrees heat to wait to go inside. Line never moved after 20 minutes, I left.
Save yourself the time and go to Sound Exhange music in Ocala.
14. Vintage Guitar Specialist
Address: 85 SW 52nd Ave, Ocala, FL 34474 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States

15. Central Music, Inc.
Address: 5175 Ulmerton Rd, Clearwater, FL 33760 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
I have worked with Central Music for many years on a variety of projects and they have always delivered a first-rate product. I currently play a Rodgers hybrid at church and enjoy a Johannus Vivaldi at home. I love both instruments. Their customer service has always been first-rate and consistent. I highly recommend this organization.
Wonderful! Staff members are very helpful and determined to help you find your perfect instrument.
I recently purchased a piano from Tim , what a great experience it was. The whole team took us through a tour of everything that was available for all my inquiries everything was professionally done from their front door to the delivery to my door I highly recommend Central Music ! THANK YOU – Tim and Sharon!
Bad customer service, very rude
Owner stood over me questioning about my income. Felt very unwelcoming. She claimed to do a lot of work with the church, but should probably read the Bible again. There are better piano shops where people welcome aspiring musicians…
16. Carlton Music Center
Address: 1902 Harden Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33803 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
Done business here for many years. Always helpful & I find what I need for myself & my piano students.
Great people. Rented for 2 years no issues!
Super friendly and helpful staff, great teachers, and everything music you could possibly need.
Just wish they stayed open later
Carlton’s has a great staff.
There isn’t a lot of product to choose from for purchasing. Hello always sitting around and the one that was waiting on us didn’t seem to have a lot of knowledge about their equipment or supplies
After buying a very expensive clarinet. They would not buy it back after was told they would when I bought it. And it was only used 4 months, so it was in the same shape as it was sold.
Went here to rent an instrument for my son…girl asked us to fill out application they want to know not just who you are and account info but employer name and number as well as spouse name number and a friend or nearest relative. I have never had to give the name of a friend or relative to buy a car or even a house….its an instrument…after giving them all that info the girl was rude I asked for manager he wasn’t any nicer and still question us about employment why I do not know both me and my husband are employed I just started pulling out my DL, bank card CWP….I mean what in the world…its a $1300 instrument!
Their sales associates have the worst customer service I’ve ever seen.
After coming across Chellee Guitars about 4.5 years ago, Peter has been the only guy I go to for guitar repairs. His patience, attention to detail and quality of work is simply exceptional, and I have never been discontented with his work. His skills and abilities as a luthier is reflected in his repair work. Peter has performed a variety of work such basic repair work like setups, nut/ saddle replacements on my guitars, and even built a custom neck replacement for my Godin.
I highly recommend Peter to anyone looking for a luthier/ repairman that is approachable and exceptional in his work.
Pete does great work, pure and simple. I received his information from a friend after growing frustrated with places like Guitar Center, who really spend no time caring for and going the extra mile when doing something as basic as a setup job. I brought him my double cutaway Les Paul after being frustrated with it (for years) because it would not stay in tune. He easily identified the problem and now this guitar plays better than it has in the 15 years that I’ve owned it. I enjoy his company as well because I always seem to learn something every time I drop something off with him. Thanks Pete!
Hand crafted instruments of excellence and custom electronics.
20. Jimmy’s Vintage Music
Address: 108 Main St, Auburndale, FL 33823 , Silver Lake , Florida , United States
Can’t say enough good things about Jimmy and his shop. He is always bringing in amazing gear. Contrast that with buying vintage gear online which sucks because you never know what you are getting. At Jimmy’s, you can put your hands on it, inspect it, play it, listen to it and prices are usually better than online too. It’s a great experience. We are really lucky to have his shop here in central Florida.
This is Disney for guitarist! Need a 56 tele? They have it. A 60’s SG more your taste? Relax, they have it. A rare Rickenbacker, or a 30s Gibson acoustic? They have it. Amps too. The owner is easy to work with, and will do trades. And yes, they have affordable gear too!
Sorry….I was next door making a donation to the “Going to the Dogs” thrift store…the owner had two dogs from Cross Pass Pet Rescue…..Very nice shop with lots of quality 2nd hand boutique items.
Nice older instruments
Selection look ok but the owner is not very friendly and seemed in a rush to get either a sale or us out of there.
As far a I know, buying a new guitar takes time and testing how each one sounds before the purchase. The owner did not offer to test any guitar and when asked he was very reluctant. So, out we were to never go back.
They were closed
Im never buying from this store ever again. I bought a Tele and when I took the tele to my guitar tech for a setup he found out some frets were not even with the rest. I told Jimmy that I wanted to change the tele for another one in his store that was the same price. He tells me that he takes the guitar back but I needed to give him $100. I tell him that Im not selling the guitar back to him for a trade.. Im returning the guitar and I was gonna get another guitar that was at the same price. He then started to ask me about my guitar tech.. assuming my guitar tech was the one that damaged the guitar. I ended up paying to get the guitar fixed. Very unprofessional and it speaks volumes when an owner of a store is willing to loose a client over $100. Never coming back.
I felt like I was bothering the owner because I was interested in guitars under $500……..
