I am not a fan of Smyrna Hardware due to a past experience with Ted. I was returning three cans of spray paint because one of the cans would not spray properly so I did not want to take a chance on the other two cans. He said that he would not give me money back on the one can because I had used it and that it was my fault for buying the cheap can of paint. I told him how awful his customer service was and especially over a $3 can of spray paint that would not spray properly. In the end he did credit me for all three cans and threw the one can in the trash. I know what good customer service is all about because I worked for Acme for 39 years. Shame on Ted!!! Everyone else at Smyrna Hardware has been very helpful and nice and I prefer to sometimes go to a smaller Hardware because they are usually very helpful and have things that Lowe’s and Home Depot do not carry. I will continue to shop there and hopefully I can steer away from Ted. Sincerely, a senior citizen

This Redbox is located to the left outside of the main entrance to the Acme Markets. There is also another Redbox machine to the right of the main exit to the Acme Market. Both machines are normally well stocked and have always worked well for me. They usually have a good selection of DVD’s, and Blue Ray disks. They also carry games.

I have only utilized this RedBox machine a few times and I can’t say that it was recently, meaning within the last year. From what I do remember, there was always a pretty good selection including new releases similar to the new releases found on Netflix.

I wanted to give more stars based on the stores history and my shopping there but in the recent months the prices have just skyrocketed! Yes items are now organized by colors but honestly the shelves were all but bare. Once in awhile i do find something reasonably priced but very rare. My friend and I were treated like we had the plague on our 10/1/22 visit. I made the mistake of actually playing one of their guitars and the owner of the store snatched it from my hands and instructed his employee to “wipe it down”. I promise that you will NEVER see me in there again. You might actually sell something if you had reasonable prices. This is exactly why people buy their gear on-line. Worst shopping experience I ever had. I promise we will bad mouth your shop to every single musician we know.
If I could rate with negative stars I would. They have had a Peavy amp for 15 months for repair and it was never even looked at. Purchased from them three years ago. And they may have had it longer than us. WARNING go elsewhere if you are looking for good service.

The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I find their prices a little higher than elsewhere, but their location is convenient, and sometimes it’s just easier going into a store rather than dealing with another music store on the phone.
Signing up for lessons with this company is one of the biggest mistakes I’ve ever made. Their billing practices are extremely criminal. They continue to charge you after you have canceled services with them. They also bill you for holidays when their business was closed and you received no services. The representatives in the store and on the customer service line are no help with billing as they know nothing. You are billed money on a different date each month but never receive a statement for what you are being charged for. This company seems to be money hungry and filled with thieves. I would never recommend anyone doing business or taking lessons from this crooked company.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. It’s sad that the schools direct you to such a in trustful company. Please take advice and stay away from this place.
Went to purchase my 8 year old daughter piano lessons back in December and was told I needed to purchase a piano or she wouldn’t succeed in lessons. I explained she wasn’t even clear if this is something she wanted to peruse but just wanted to try it. The cashier wasn’t helpful and I went out hopeless. Fast forward to a little over 2 months and we found an excellent instructor who guided us toward a keyboard to practice and she absolutely loves it. A piano purchase is probably in the near future but I won’t be returning to this shop. Just to think, this visit to the store could of altered my daughters life had I gave up.

This store is probably better suited for school aged musicians. A majority of their business is with students and they seem to provide great services. In terms of buying a guitar, there is not a great guitar selection, nor do the employees seem too interested in selling guitars. If you are a guitarist or a starting guitarist I would seek advice or expertise else-ware. This store seems more interested in selling what they already have rather than making sure the guitar is the right choice for the person. Which granted is most stores, but I have heard of them suggesting right handed guitars for lefties regardless of which position is the most comfortable to play. This school of thought is antiquated and a red flag in my opinion.
As the parent of a middle school musician, this store is convenient for us and will order something quickly if they don’t have it. I haven’t been thrilled with our music lesson experience (some seem over priced and its rare that you get your full time due to so many lessons scheduled) am not sure that we will continue with lessons if we can find alternative. However, my son thinks his saxophone instructor is great and that’s an important part of the experience. He needs to be comfortable with who we use.

If I can give ZERO stars I will without any hesitation. They have the worst staff with major attitude issues. You walk in as a customer and ask them something, they get irritated for “doing their job”. Guess all they want to do is listen to their iphone and spend free time there !! There is a guy by name “Josh” – he is among the worst ! The second is his manger I guess, the one with the long hair. I don’t want to even remember his name. When my daughter’s flute was repaired and sent here (5 visits and yet they don’t have a clue what’s going on), these guys acted as if Kirkwood store is responsibile and was extremely disresepctful. Throwing the client files on the table and one guy almost approaching me (Josh) with an attitude to confront. The other guy with the long hair started yelling and pointing fingers. My daughter and I exited with embarassment. This is what we get for being a customer for 5 + years. Kevin from Kirkwood store on the other hand is very gentle, helpful and completely customer oriented. Middletown store – no wonder has only few customers or students walking in even before COVID. The staffs there definitely need customer service training and importantly emotional intelligence. A bunch of arrogant inexperienced men showing their anger and frustration in life on customers ! Pathetic & Horrible !! Stay away from this store if you want a good customer experience overall.
Horrible customer service. Don’t expect a call back cause u will never get it accept from Mike, best one in there. Ended up dealing with the Camden store where they are fantastic, helpful and never made me feel like I was a problem while trying to make the right decision buying an instrument.

I bought an American Strat brand new a few years back, and I noticed after playing it for a few months that it would fret out on the high e-string anywhere above the 12th fret when bending. I love the way the guitar plays otherwise but tended not to play it because of that issue, so I would play other guitars. I finally decided to get it setup. I work for a music retailer and have played many guitars that have been setup by Chuck, and they’ve always felt just right in terms of action and playability. I took my Strat down to Chuck and he identified the issues my guitar had with the neck, set it up properly, and set all of the pickup heights correctly. I got home from picking it up about an hour and a half ago and haven’t put the guitar down since. It plays perfectly! Not only does it play much better, but it sounds much better because of the pickup height adjustments. I also like that Chuck will sit and play each guitar after he’s done getting all of the specs right to check that it feels right, and this serves as a quality control measure. Once he told me that, I realized why every guitar that I’ve played that he setup played so good. Overall a great experience, but to be honest with you I knew it was going to come out great based on the work I’ve seen of his. I will definitely be back with my other guitars in the future!! Thanks Chuck!!

We hired Snow’s Painting largely based on their local reputation. Our experience was not “bad”, but it was mediocre. Though the final job was satisfactory, I would have expected a more thorough job of caulking. I would have also expected that Snow’s would have done their own inspection of the work and not relied on my having to do it. So….not the exceptional experience I expected.

I was in there about a day ago for the first time looking to buy a digital piano as someone who has never played a piano at all and all I felt was love and support and the passion of the staff helping me pick one.
I know what you’re thinking (This guy probably got upsold like crazy for being a newb) and trust me I’m really not that novice when it comes to spend my money, being an eBay seller and what not I HAVE to see where the best deals are with any decision I make regarding my money.
Before I went to the store I did countless hours of research on their online store and all over the internet ( I’m not the easiest person to convince to make a purchase).
After standing there for about 20 minutes doing a little more research on the pianos that were available in the store I could not make up my mind, I did not want a crappy super entry level piano but I also did not want to spend more than I needed to get started.
My requirements were simple,
Sensitive to touch keys
weighted keys
digital
I already knew that Sensitive touch keys were mainly available after a certain price range just like the weighted keys, so I knew I wanted a piano in the 200-350 range to get everything I needed before I even walked in there.
When I began talking to the staff at first I was thinking in my head, “Let’s see how this jerk tries to upsell me, I’ve done my research and I’ll only be paying 5-10% more of what it would cost online on whatever I get” Of course I consider myself and avid merchant and thus this is how I think… of course I don’t know this person the “jerk” thing is just a figure of speech. Well I was incredibly surprised by this staff member or sale associate? Anyway, he walked up to me and asked if I needed help I explained to him my lack of experience (usually a mistake when buying locally, keep this a secret most sales people work on commission and will try to upsell… hence my expectations stated above) but I was surprised this guy listened to me and he never used the word “Should” or “Have to” and that was impressive! I was blown away. This guy felt like a long lost friend, he truly cared about my expectations and my budget and the patience was incredible he even put the piano in my car.
Conclusion
If you want too feel welcomed and informed about making a purchase of any instrument I’d say visit this store, these guys seem like the kind of people that will talk to you and give you advice even if you don’t buy anything from them. Think of this place as a mom and pops business were the employees actually care and want to listen to you and your needs (musically). I give this business all the thumbs up I can.
Wonderful store
My oldest came here for lessons and we purchased an intermediate trumpet back in 2019 that we were very happy with. Fast forward to 2022-23. First we bought a Yamaha intermediate trombone but the mouth piece was missing so they gave us a replacement “in kind”. This fall he dropped it on the ground and ovaled the shaft. This is where the fun begins. I drive the 30 min to the store and ask for a replacement, but they can’t find the sale in their system. I remembered the issue with the missing mouthpiece and the replacement. Unfortunately the clerk couldn’t get the internet to work to verify the size and sold us the large shank. Wrong! So now I have to spend another hour there and back just to return it. Amazon was more helpful but a search revealed that the “in kind” replacement from a year ago was a cheap version and the wrong size. They got me twice. Thankfully this is the last kid so I won’t have to go there again.

Terrible service. My girlfriend takes her son here for guitar and the teacher stood them up 5 different times and they didn’t reimburse her for 3 of those 5 classes. There staff told her son not to attend the class on 12/21/18 and his mother called to confirm this and the staff member failed to contact her back and when the teacher showed up to teach the lesson he decided he was not going to refund the lesson. When I say stood them up 5 times I’m not saying he called them 20 minutes before and said hey I can’t make it. I’m talking about them driving 45 minutes away just to find out the guy isn’t even there and failed to tell anyone. Is this good customer service? Is this fair ? You charge people 30 dollars for a half an hour and you don’t even show up?
Upon my arrival, at the Wilmington DE location, I was greeted with the clerk pulling out rubber gloves. At first, I thought they required a rectal exam of their patrons. I was then told I needed to wear gloves to peruse their books. I walked out and went down the road to Accent Music and purchased what I needed. I’ll never spend another dime at M&A. Let’s support the rational.

Bought a few pieces of gear here. All above market price, first amp fried in less than a year, PRS guitar with cosmetic damage you could only see in certain light. And a PRS amp, brand new, that developd tube rattle in 3 months, even though I paid $300 over market value. Sadly, these small businesses don’t really do anything about the products they sell. But they’re definitely more expensive.
Called to know if they had any Tenor Saxophones and he had a bad attitude.

Nothing to write home about, but I did have a nice conversation with two of the guys that worked there and they shared some interesting insights on the manufacturing sales evolution over time, as well as dealing with other countries for business transactions.
Nice instrument’s, specially warwick basses. Some good Boss pedals, one guy part of the staff not too nice though. They could do better receiving customers. Closing the doors of the music school on your face doesn’t seem like a charming or effective welcoming strategy.
Selection is pretty low for almost everything. If you need a starter instrument, lessons, or basic supplies then look no further.
Not good…. I am new in town and looking for a new music store and when I arrived here the store was dirty with parts and equipment laying on the ground. Then when I found someone and asked about a mic stand they showed me they only had 1 which was way over priced for a cheap stand then when I went to ask another question I was ignored so I just left… I really wish I could have utilized this store instead of driving to guitar center 🙁
They tend to charge list price, but will usually come down to comparable prices if you argue with them. They frequently don’t have what I’m looking for, but they get 2 stars for a total lack of other options in Delaware. Better off driving to the larger competitors in Cherry Hill, NJ.
