Carter is a terrific teacher. I knew nothing and he has already taught me the basics.
I had a great experience getting lessons from Carter. He went at my pace and I learned quickly. Definitely recommending his services to my friends and family.
A friend recommended me to this and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was able to brush up on my skills in great company.

It was good could do better if managers were more involved with you if your spend about 1,000 ..
I’ve been shopping here for years. As many are saying, they always try to upswell you stuff. That didn’t bother me I would stick with what I want but the last experience was pretty bad.
I went in for some speakers, I wanted to rent them, they said they don’t do rent since covid came (even tho they still have the label on used item saying RENT ME) so I decided to purchase a pair in hope that it was what I needed and wanted. The first question I asked was “what is your return policy on speakers” and told me “it’s 45 days, make sure to keep the box”
I thought it was great since I wasn’t sure if I was going to like and keep the speakers I purchase.
After using the speakers once, I wasn’t satisfied so I decided to return them 5 days after purchase.
When I went back, they claimed I needed to pay a restocking fee for them. I asked why since I had the box and all the items that came with it. They said they were going to have to sell them as open box now. I told them that’s not what I was told and that I wanted my money back. They questioned the person that sold me the speakers and he said he told me about the restocking fees (never happened) and that since I used them they had to sell them as “open box”
I looked carefully on their return policy, it says they will charge you a restocking fees if the item had signs of wear and tear or the box was missing. That wasn’t the case for me. I literally took them out the box, placed them on the floor, used them once and re packed them. Also the return policy does not excuse speakers from the money return if the box was opened or the speakers used so I don’t know what they’re talking about.
After some back and forwards they gave me my money back and told me to don’t go back to their store! I spent at least $5k on this store during the past couple years and you banned me from here for a speaker return?
Guitar center can have my money from now on or any online music store.
That’s not the way to treat a valued costumer.
I the sales attendant if they carried Ernie Ball cobalt super slinky guitar strings no one new what I was talking about.
I don’t think you’re associates have any musical experience like the old days.
They don’t sell record players anymore. They just had one DJ Turntable for $699. All their guitars said DO NOT TOUCH. The music books looked used and in bad shape. They have very little selection of instruments and accessories. The store is akways empty and employees not very helpful. They look bored.
I love this place. This is a wonderful place, very responsible. If you are outside CA and looking for a good music instrument, here is a right place you can pick. I bought Guqin over there. I am not able to flight over there and pickup by myself. Carol got my requirement of the sound, she helped me to pick a wonderful guqin. I love it so much, like my new friend, when I am receiving it. So, I really strongly recommend you to consider this place as your first choice if you are looking for a good and responsible store.
I ordered an erhu from the Sound of Asia website and my experience was awesome from the start! I had emailed to ask questions as this is my first erhu and I wanted to make sure I got the right instrument. Carol replied to me very quickly and was extremely helpful. I live in Oregon and the erhu arrived within a few days. The accessories are all great and it was easy to set up and start playing. The instrument itself is even more beautiful in person than online. Overall I’m super happy and would highly recommend buying a Chinese instrument from here, especially if you live in the US and don’t want to spend a fortune on shipping.
Authentic Gǔzhēng made in China. Friendly staff with great knowledge of music. Fast service. Instruments include case, finger picks, strings, tuner, instruction manual, and legs. Prices are good.
工作人员热情,细致。
Great store that sells Asian wooden string playing instrument and has lessons to take. This instrument is the first piano before real ivory pianos were born.
琴的质量很差,服务态度恶劣。大家小心这个商家
This shop is quite a fraud, please be careful. I have been to lots of instruments store, I highly don’t recommend this place, avoid this place if you don’t want to be cheated by them. i bought one Guzheng in shop with price of $1500. However, i later notice that they sell exactly the same guzheng online with much cheaper price. They don’t have price labels for the instruments in shop, which give them the opportunity to cheat on you. once they notice you are in favor of one instrument, they tend to increase the price to get you to pay more. When i was in store, i happen to meet other guys seems have trouble with their purchases as well.
Increase the price if you show interest in one instrument. Higher price than their Amazon store. Don’t go there.
9. Kim’s Piano
Address: 18605 Gale Ave #110, City of Industry, CA 91748 , South San Jose Hills , California , United States
I had an excellent experience with Kim’s Piano this afternoon. Our sales person Yuka was extremly patient, friendly and offered a pressure free sales experience (this is important since often times, these pianos are going to be in our homes for years). We were free to roam around the store and test any piano without feeling out of place. They have a good selection of Yamaha’s, Kawais, etc. They have pianos covering just about every budget. Yuka also took the time to follow up after our visit. Just an overall great experience from start to finish.

If you’re looking for a piano, do yourselves a favor and just go to Kim’s.
We spent a LOT of time looking at pianos and visited just about every store in the area. The difference you get at Kim’s pianos vs everywhere else we went however was stark. Every-time we visited a Kim’s, we were greeted warmly by a knowledgable expert. We ended up visiting multiple Kim’s pianos locations to hear the pianos in different rooms and explore different models and every experience was the same.
Everyone we spoke to was very patient with us and took a great amount of time to help us make the best decision for our needs. When other piano dealers often felt like a used car sale, at Kim’s we felt like we had an expert advocate for us in our corner at all times.
We ultimately made our purchase of a CA99 piano and the piano was delivered promptly the next day. Benjamin Kim, the owner, even followed up with us the following day to make sure that everything was delivered smoothly and that we were enjoying our new purchase. 10/10 our family will be customers of Kim’s pianos for many years to come.
I purchased a piano from this store. They delivered the piano without any protection and the delivery guy damaged my piano. They fixed it finally.
not friendly but good selection.
10. Music & Arts
Address: 842 W Arrow Hwy, San Dimas, CA 91773 , South San Jose Hills , California , United States
Music and Arts center has excellent customer services! I would like to especially give a huge thanks to Rosemary! She was very informative and friendly. We highly recommend going here!
I rented my kids’ musical instruments for school band and orchestra through Music and Arts and eventually purchased them too. They offer a very convenient rental program where a good portion of your monthly rental fee can be applied toward the outright purchase of your rental.
For an additional small monthly fee, the instrument can be insured for any repairs and in my experience, it’s well worth it . If you decide to purchase at any point during the rental term or thereafter, you’ll get a brand new outfit of the musical instrument and the store takes the rental back. The sooner you decide to purchase the instrument, the less is the buyout fee but it’s still a fair deal even if you choose to wait longer.
I also got a very nice sounding ukulele for my son here . He started out playing guitar and still does, but wanted to experiment with the ukulele as well. The sales girl was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in selecting
an appropriate size and style for him and some beginner sheet music and an instruction booklet a well. She even played a few tunes.
They have all kinds of sheet music here and musical supplies and also offer music lessons. I believe once a month, they still have get togethers held at the store where anyone can come and showoff their musical talent and what they’ve learned by singing and/or playing for the group.
Another thing to consider about Music and Arts is that there are many other cities and states where stores can be found, so if you’re moving for any reason and you have a rental agreement in place, you can transfer your agreement to another store at your new location.
Music and Arts is definitely a good find and now they have another store where Gards Music used to be.
Nice music shop with friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Was recommended this store by my music teacher. Great store that sells anything you can think of music related. Music & Arts had one employee the day I went in to get a practice book for saxophone, and they were most helpful. Very friendly, and helped me find exactly what I needed. It may not have the same inventory as some of the bigger music stores in the area, but I would definitely recommend Music & Arts if you need something music related.
Please come when you want to lose money with auto-charge. they cancel my son’s drum class and cancel the account without lesson credit back. Very bad experience about auto-charge. And very bad experience on Customer service.
Do they have cellos?
12:28 pm, Sunday. The teachers and students are waiting for the shop to open.

Beautiful place and Danny had given me a fantastic guitar lesson. Very professional and am in love with the vibe!
Very Professional Music School! My 2 sons LOVE the teachers here. Have moved to this area for nearly 5 years, finally a music school which has a fabulous environment and focus on contemporary music other than classical only.
Saw Aurora on a friend’s Facebook post and decided to check them out. Went to their location and met with Mindy. She was very nice and offer both kids (age 8 and 6) with a free 30-minute trial session for drums and a free 30 minutes trial session for ukulele, so the kids can decide which instrument they want to learn. At the end, both kids decided to go with drums. They started in June 2019 and are loving it. Highly recommend this place for kids to learn music instruments. Zac, the drums instructor, is very patient.
12. ROWLAND MUSIC
Address: 19760 Colima Rd, Rowland Heights, CA 91748 , South San Jose Hills , California , United States
I am so glad I was able to book and recommend Angelica’s group. This fine group of mariachis are composed of true professionals that LOVE what they do. Their love for our music and culture is evident and contagious. You will NOT be disappointed as they deliver such a beautiful performance each time.
Fantastic Mariachi! Superior sound and just phenomenal! Very professional, on time and looked great. You need to book them for your next event!! You will not be disappointed!
Just booked this Mariachi last Friday and they were amazing; I highly recommend booking them for your event
Excellent setup! Great rate and very thorough–the tele plays better than ever!
Covid precautionary as well, always a plus! Thanks Wally!
Wally is in this for the love of guitar. Absolutely wonderful human being who is easy to work with and loves the little details that make guitars play as wonderfully as they can. He’s worked on all of my guitars for years now. Highly recommended!
A gem of a hidden store. I just happened to find this music store hidden in the corner of this shopping center.
Small store with surprisingly a variety of instruments from acoustic guitars to trombones. They have digital pianos (check out the Yamaha, really nice sounding), string instruments, a few electronic drum sets. If they don’t have it they can order it for you as well. Instruments are nicely priced and they have a payment plan I saw on the entrance door
The manager was super cool and helpful. I found out that this place is actually owned by Guitar Center as I was informed. Definitely check this place out if your in the area !
Passed by this store on the way to somewhere else and made a mental note to stop in on the way back. So glad I did what a beautiful and fun music store! Kyle helped me and let me ask a lot of questions. I wish I lived in the area as I’d like to take music lessons. Thank you Kyle!
No longer named Gards. Still a very stocked music store. Friendly staff too! Came here for their colorful Yamaha Recorder
Really good deal on my son’s instrument. The staff was helpful and polite. The instrument was also delivered to the store location within the time frame that was stated, everywhere else has been delayed.
Nice staff, very welcoming and helpful
Cool little music store that offers a small selection of keyboards bass guitars electric and acoustic guitars as well as orchestra and band instruments.
About 5 years ago I brought a recorder in and asked for a thumb rest for it. Instead of ordering the $5 removable factory thumb rest which was made for that model, they installed an ill-fitting 3rd-party metal thumb rest with screws that are so long that they protrude inside the barrel, so that if the thumb rest were ever removed, it would leave holes in the barrel. Worse, they charged me $65 for this junky little metal piece and the 5 minutes of labor to install it. When I complained, they blew me off.
I will never go back there.
I see that they’ve been acquired by Music & Arts, which resulted in a name change, but it sounds like it’s still the same folks running the store, so my review will stand.
The customer service I received at this store was fine given the circumstances. The review is for my overall experience ordering from Music and Arts.
I ordered two items that, according to the order page, were supposed to be shipped to this store and ready for pick up within 2-7 days. One item was ready the next day, but it took 3 weeks for the rest of my order to arrive. When I went to pick my order up, the first item was present, but the second item was not in its packaging. I waited three weeks for an empty bag.
If I had known that it would have taken three weeks to be disappointed, I would have rather have taken five minutes to look in the mirror.
I had a flute and a piccolo repaired here. They didn’t do a good job. My piccolo was given back to me with hot glue strands hanging off of it and a small wooden piece wedged into a pad. When I complained about the piccolo, they simply clipped of the glue strands and handed it back. It was clear that they would not be able to make it better. I had to take the instruments to another shop to have them rerepaired. I won’t be back.

I was only there to install sliding clothes rakes not to shop.
I worked here for a while. This place is a complete mess. It is extremely unprofessional and very dirty. They never take their time to clean up the warehouse so running into empty boxes on the floor is normal. The employees are ok but the staff here, it seems like they lied about knowing management in their resumes. Cause it seems like this is their first job At least managing. When it comes to them saying they were wrong. They’ll justify any excuses to make you look wrong. Example I was sent to go work in an area and when I arrived I saw that the work had already been done so I started working on something new. Then a supervisor came to me and tried to argue with me that I was in the wrong for not doing what she asked. Even tho I explained the thing I was told to do was already done. The only good thing here is the pay. I was able to buy my new mustang after working here for just 2 months.
