Delivery is always on time in top notch condition.
Found the best prices and free shipping. I ordered on a Monday and received my large order on Thursday. Fast and quick. I will be purchasing from them again.
Lots of great books but a little pricey for me. I have found the same selections with Christian books suppliers for much less!
Overall, I am very pleased with my order. However, one of the editions was out of date, and does not sync with the curriculum manual. It was the First Grade Enrichment Lesson Plans. Apparently, this was an outdated edition so the music and poetry do not align. I thought it was the latest and greatest but according to Memoria Press, it is not. Still, I have a viable workaround so all is not lost. I really think Rainbow Resource is awesome for homeschool ordering. Everything arrived timely and in perfect shape (no dents or dings to the books).
I ordered some readers 7 days ago and still have no estimated delivery date. The items have been sitting for days in the same place. They shipped the books pretty quickly but I am disappointed that they do not use a better shipper. I could have ordered from Sonlight for a few cents more and I would have had them by now. I can’t speak for how great the company is or isn’t, but shipping is something that a lot of companies have down these days but, unfortunately, this company does not.
Why can’t you post with 0 stars?! Place is looking more and more like a fraud by the day. Placed an order for a Christmas present on 12/5. Sent an email asking for an update on 12/20 hoping perhaps shipping could be expedited. Didn’t get a response until 12/30. Here it is 2/17 and still hasn’t shipped. Granted it is on back order, but other retailers carry the item and if there was any indication there’d be this type of inexplicable delay, I would’ve ordered from someone else. Maybe I’ll have the item in time for NEXT Christmas. Maybe.
Basically, I paid for delivery cad$134.67 for purchasing cad$222.73 books.
Not worth it.
Don’t order from Rainbow Resources especially if you live in Canada.
You will be ripped off by overpaying delivery fees that they charge.
I ordered books valued us$164.19(cad$222.73) plus delivery feel us$41.05(cad$55.61).
And I got an invoice from FedEx cad$79.06 for custom clearance entrey fee.
Normally, the custom clearance entry fee is between cad$30 to 40.
However, for whatever reasons, Rainbow Resources sent this time through FedEx and that incurred FedEx’s charge of their own fees on top of the custom clearance entry fee.
Called Rainbow resources to clarify why they sent through FedEx not canada post and the customer service staff’s answer was that’s done by delivery department and nothing they can do.
I’ve been ordering books from Rainbowresources over 8yrs to save some money but it’s clear they don’t care about customers wallet much as long as they sell.
Don’t waste your money by ordering from them.
I’ve liked Rainbow but I will use Christian books from now onward. I didn’t like the attitude I was given today. I understand their is a lot going on and we all need to be patient but I don’t like the take it or leave it attitude. I need my books just like everyone else and I have been very patient and now I will continue to be, cause they have no idea when I will receive my books on back order.
This place is great, I always get good service in a friendly atmosphere. Just wish they would be open on Sundays like I need guitar strings right now lol No biggy

You love playing music, you need to check it out 😀
Always a great place for music needs.
It’s ok. Nothing special in regard to service
Knowledgeable staff and everything you need.
Good amps but they didn’t get down a guitar i wanted to play
Last five years I have purchased several guitars several by I’m talking around 10 I walked in to this music store a lady did not even ask me how they can help me all she said was what are you looking for looked around for awhile noticed that the pricing was a little bit outrageous. But the main thing was the woman that put the sour taste in my mouth by acting like it was a bother for us to even walk in the store. Oh well their loss my game I’ll continue purchasing equipment from American music supply Sweetwater. Won’t go back
These guys are crooks. Everything they sell is overpriced, and their services are terrible. I went in to install a new bridge pickup for my electric guitar, and they quoted an unreasonable price for the job. Since I was already there I figured whatever, go ahead. They estimated the job would take about 24 hours to complete. Little did I know “24 hours” meant a month and a half to them. I’m not even kidding. Every time I went in to the store to check, they yelled at me and said “there’s a guy who comes in to do the work, but he’s been just swamped lately. He’ll get it done when he gets a chance”. So 1.5 months later I receive a call, and it’s finally done. I go to pick up my guitar, and plug it in to one of their amps to check out how it sounds. It sounded like something was damaged in the guitar. I told them that there was something seriously wrong here, but they said it’s probably their amp and I should go home and check it out. I went home, plugged it in and it was messed up. It literally sounded like metal springs grinding against each other. The strangest noise I’ve ever heard from a guitar.
When I took the guitar back to them, they were incredibly rude and told me it was not their problem and the pickup was broken. So I was out $130, and left with a broken guitar. I ended up having to spend another $200 to get the whole thing back to playing condition.
I learned my lesson, and have warned all my friends against this store.
Got a “better than” feeling in there. Short, unhelpful answers for my 14 year old grandson.
I love this place. Adam, Cordell, and Noel are great! I’ve bought several guitars from this place and will likely purchase more. Solid inventory, reasonable prices. Knowledegable staff. Generally just an enjoyable place as a whole.
Good prices and really nice quality music equipment and instruments. Would Reccomend.
Adam has a great music store. Lots of variety in guitars. He has a new product; cigar box guitars. He offers guitar care services, takes fair trade-ins for guitars he sells. He takes the time to talk with you about what your needs are in music instruments, in recording and more.

Andrew is awesome! We were unable to even get our PC to turn on and look now I am writing a review online with it! He got the problem figured out and resolved in a very timely manner and a very affordable price. He is the real deal and really knows his stuff! We were a little worried at first leaving it with him because we have a lot of pricey upgrades but nothing is missing from our PC and nothing appears to be tampered with so rest assured he is an honest guy; you can trust him. Thank you Andrew for fixing our PC so we can get back to our gamer lives! ;D
Andrew is an amazing guy,he fixed my laptop’s problem quick and at a very reasonable price, hard to find honest ppl around, will definitely recommend to anyone.Keep up the good work
Great service.

Thank you Paul, & Pop’s, the 814ce Taylor I purchased was received here in Long Island NY, and looks amazing, as advertised, and plays beautifully. Special thanks for the extra care, packing and shipping, very professionally prepared. Very hard to find that special touch, that you still deliver, these days.
One of the best businesses I have every done business with. They are talented, honest and all around great people. I’ve kept going back to them over the years and will do so in the future. I hope the best for Tobias Music. Excellent!
All I need to say is that the customer service, communication, and great price is very well appreciated from Tennessee. The G&L guitar arrived in perfect, well packed condition. Thanks again, Paul!
They are more of a acoustic guitar place not really a place for bass players .
***EDIT***
So, I am knocking down my review from five stars to three; due to my most recent experience a couple months after the first one. So I reached backout to buy another guitar (place order) as I really wanted an AD22e or another model I can’t remember, but after confirming they could place the order I let them know that I wanted the AD22e and to provide me the full price so we could close the deal and they went silent, mind you I didn’t even get a copy of the receipt from my AD27e that never came which I had also requested from the last conversation.
I did finally get my guitar ordered but I had a national retailer place the order. I was disappointed I didn’t hear back from Tobias Music about completing the purchase and obtaining a copy of the receipt for my AD27e that never came.
** original **
Just bought an AD27e (Taylor) from them after finding it for sale online. it was a great buying experience. I’m a lefty, buying guitars online is the norm, and most of the time guitars I buy take a day or two to pack and ship. we had a few emails back and forth and they were quick to respond and very professional. These guys had it packed and shipped the same day, and I didn’t place my order until after lunch; that’s service.
They also took the time to dial the guitar in; it came with the action set and was tuned ready to play out of the box. Paul did a great job and really made this buying experience easy, and hassle free. I’ll have to check back often to see what other lefty guitar they get in. If I have the chance, I will buy from them again.
15. Austin’s Violin Shop
Address: 316 Wheeler Rd, Sugar Grove, IL 60554 , Stark County , Illinois , United States
The customer service here is superb! I had a wonderful experience with them today and the price is right too! Super happy with them.
Charming shop with pleasant people provided all our violin needs. Competitive prices, many levels of instruments, bows, cases etc. for the beginner or the pro. Music making is affordable at Austin’s … and fun.
Very friendly and knowledgeable people!
16. Baysingar’s Antiques
Address: 1135 Railroad Ave, Kewanee, IL 61443 , Stark County , Illinois , United States
I look forward to stopping by when I swing through Kewanee. Pat is always very accommodating, and her prices are reasonable. I highly recommend her shop for finding anything from solid wood furniture to crocks to postcards.
Family run..nice people. Not much selection
Very nice owner but didn’t find anything.
Prices were good. The owner was friendly and helpful.
A lot of products were on the floor making it a bit difficult to get around, and hard to view. A couple aisles we didn’t go in because there was too much on the floor.
Not much there unless you plan on spending big bucks. The owner told me she “doesn’t like to sell smalls”. Won’t be back.
Don’t come without CASH! Many items are not priced so you will have to wait for the older lady to look the item up on ebay. The place has a beautiful glass display in the center of the store. You can not see into that display among the clutter, be careful this place is a mess!
17. Taets Piano Service
Address: 1725 1st Ave, Silvis, IL 61282 , Stark County , Illinois , United States
Thorough tuning. Takes about 2 hours. Sounds great.
Brought a piano back to life for my wedding that hadn’t been serviced in a decade. Sounds incredible, thank you!
I would give 6 stars out of 5 if I was allowed!! Gene is incredibly professional, knowledgeable and an all around great guy! He just left my home after meeting him and using his services for the first time and I’m beyond satisfied!! I would recommend him to everyone and will be using him for any future services I need. Without question the best choice for anyone looking for services or tunings!
18. Halpin Music Company
Address: 139 S Locust St, Centralia, IL 62801 , Stark County , Illinois , United States
Haplin helps us with our Patches and Pumper robotic dog on occasion. We take Patches to the city schools every year for fire prevention. They treat us very well and we appreciate the service.
Amazing customer service and a plethora of knowledge. Neil and Ben are the best.
Great place to shop or take a variety of music lessons! Knowledgeable employees and good selection of products!
Good prices
The website says its open till 5 on Saturday not 3
Average music store
Good stuff just could be better with details and price
I had to have my horn sent to Alton because this tech in Centralia is discriminatory against people with disabilities. Had to drive two and a half hours 200 plus miles and no discount for a simple repair I will never use them again thinking about taking legal action.
19. Music Source
Address: 33113 US-45, Grayslake, IL 60030 , Stark County , Illinois , United States
I always prefer to shop local, so that’s why I met Bob. He was a great help in my new purchase and my daughter is taking lessons at the store. Keep on Rockin
Very good place to go. Jason teaches my daughters and they have enjoyed the lessons . They have improved their level and thanks to Jason they love piano . Jason is professional, serious and an oustanding piano teacher. He really motivates students to learn.
Marie de shazer.
Bob was a really stand-up guy; he gave me what I needed and told me what was what. Definitely going to go back when they restock on banjo supplies.
A week and a half later, I’m waiting on a repair that was supposed to take two days. They called on the day it was supposed to be done to say they just started working on it. Two days after that they called again to say it will be done in a week (or maybe less) due to a problem with the instrument that requires additional work. Today (a week later) they said it will be ready two weeks from the day I brought it in. While I can’t comment on the quality of the work because I still haven’t received it yet, I am disappointed with the service so far. I dislike dishonesty, excuses, and false promises. I can only hope that my instrument isn’t being butchered. I hope I’ll get it back and be able to add a positive update to this review. Unfortunately since they lied to me, I can’t trust them, so I’ll have to take it somewhere else to get it checked out after I get it back.
Update: I got the guitar back and had it checked out by a friend’s technician. He said it was in good shape, so I’ve decided to raise my rating by two stars. I won’t forget the bad communication and lack of transparency, so I don’t think I would bring an instrument here for repair a second time.
Why would I come here to buy $21 Elixir Strings when I can get them for $10 on Amazon? Are these even elixirs? I am 2nd guessing because the seal was ripped and the bags are crinkled inside. I feel like I was ripped off here, do not come here for your strings maybe they are knowledgable, but definatley sketchy.
sad to have to change my review but after having dealt with this store more it seemed necessary
Store staff are incompetent. Ordered books and instruments accessories for me but instead of holding behind the counter they just put them on the shelf for others to buy. Waited two weeks and when I got there only one of the three things I ordered was available. There is a reason mom-and-pop shops like this are going out of business. They have no customer service. Added to which the staff were rude and had a lack of knowledge that was sad.
Was looking for a specific pair of drumsticks that I needed. I walked in and took a look at the selection they had, and they didn’t have what I needed. I asked a staff member if they could help me out and he helped me figure out what pair I needed. He happened to be the drum instructor. While trying to find the specific pair, my mother who was with me told me that he made her feel uncomfortable because of the way he acted towards her. When they “ordered” it for me and they said it’ll be here in a week.
One week later, I called to see if it had arrived. They said no. I stopped by the next day to see if it arrived and the same instructor said they’ll stop by tomorrow and pick it up for me. (From whatever warehouse they get their stuff from). The next day, guess what? THEY DIDN’T HAVE IT.
Unbelievable service. Waste of time and effort. I ended up going to A-Major Music in Gurnee. Trust me, it is worth the drive and they are MUCH more friendlier and helpful there.
I bought two sets of acoustic guitar strings for around a $20 total and later received a $140 charge from the business. Bob said he would reach out to resolve the issue but has not yet after two weeks.
20. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 730 Tenney St, Kewanee, IL 61443 , Stark County , Illinois , United States
I only have one issue about the scooters carts. Every time I get one that is fully charged. I only can use for 5 or ten minutes at a time. The ones in Kewaunee Illinois. All the carts are like that. This store at 730 Tenney St, Kewanee IL 61443 needs new scooters carts. I hope and pray that someone checks them out and consider to get new ones there.
It is impossible to social distance when only the grocery side doors are open.
Only 3 registers open and it was crowded. Self check registers open but I do not work there so I don’t use them. They can wait on me. After all I am a customer.
Its Walmart, bring your patience and way more money than you plan to spend.
