These guys are just plain awesome. Worked out a good price for a PA system, stands and wires. Even threw in drum sticks. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff, great instructors
Good service
they have a good selection of acoustic and electric guitar, not so much for percussion instruments.
I had a pleasant experience. It’s a bit pricer.
Saying you know everything about drums is a good thing, but be realistic. Guitar center does not hire experts, they hire kids that will work for minimum wage, and put up with us know it all musicians.
Are you going to work part time, for minimum wage, and smile when some kid comes in with his parents wanting a “piccolo china crash ride spash hat” or some other non-existant mumbo jumbo?
Will you keep smiling and figure out what the kid wants, or are you going to laugh at him, like you laugh at the kids in guitar center?
If they did hire you, and you go on a road tour, then what?
Guitar Center has different levels of shops. this is a little shop, then they have normal shops, and in some areas they have “pro-shops”, where pros go in to talk to pro’s and buy pro equipment. You will know it when you see it, due to the dozen latin percussion displays, the 3 DW kits on display, the rush 30th aniversary set on display, and the 48 piece gilbrater rack with 4 bass drums on a meter tall platform above it all.
Guitar Center is there to make money. If the stevenson ranch store is selling $100,000 a month in drums, expect guitar center to expand the drum area there.
Until then, be glad you have someplace close when you break your last set of drum sticks.
I usually get good service at G.C. Not today
Awful customer service! Every time I go in one of the employees are always giving me a hard time! And this goes for over the phone calls too! They don’t bother to try and help you!
Disappointed, and lied to. My bass guitar has been sitting at Guitar Center for 2 months as of now. They continue to tell me should have it fixed very soon.
The repair needed is a new nine volt battery connector for active pickups. I have been getting the runaround for weeks and weeks on end.
On two occasions after having called Guitar Center, one of the employee says, “oh yes it’s finished now come down and pick it.” I get there and it is has not been touched. That’s when the manager tells me again in person, as he has done now multiple times, that he will call me to let me know what’s going on… he has never done so, neither has the guitar tech Chris, nor anyone else at Guitar Center. These guys are unaccountable. 🙁
do not take your instruments here for repair, unless you dont need it fixed for months.

Nick Rail provides a great variety of music books, excellent instruments, and service for the Santa Clarita Valley!
As a professional musician and music teacher, I highly recommend them!
The friendliest and most knowledgeable service you’ll find anywhere!
Great place for all your music needs!
Love this place!! They have a great selection of everything-used and new. Great prices! You can get a lot of good stuff for very little money. They also are good about buying your stuff and giving you either cash back or store credit. I would definitely take the store credit!I recommend that everyone go at least once. Parking can get packed.
Really not the place to be, just go to Impulse
would not recommend them for ANYTHING. have played sax for over 30 years, spent time as a professional musician in the military as well as managed a music shop and did repairs. I have been out of the business for some time, and a friend gave me a trumpet. now i checked out this horn myself. a very slightly dented valve casing on the # 3 valve case, and some minor denting on the bell (a dent on the bell is pretty much just cosmetic). when I brought it it, the employee said $60-75. I thought, it’s a little pricey, but hey I don’t have to buy a valve casing mandrel myself for a 1 time repair, and he will rub out the bell dent. I call back again today, and find out they sent it to their “specialist”. over $200 for a reaming 1 valve casing, and rubbing out a bell. and i had to call them to find out, they didn’t call me with an estimate.
Update about my violin. I am much less familiar with violins. The violin I brought in is very old I was given my a grant grandmother. Nick rail wanted to charge over 400 with a long list of repairs like reworking the tuning pegs lathing the fingerboard etc. They said the violin was extremely valuable and worth such an expensive repair. Now I know that when you have an old violin that says stratovari 1776 it means it was manufactured after that year model. But some copies are valuable but need a real appraisal. This made me curious so I found the la violin shop that does full appraisals for ensurance. They said it wasn’t worth much so of course nick rail lied about the value to get more money. Also the tuning pegs where broken. If they tuned it they would have known. Turns out I fixed that myself for $8
I’m not happy about this place. They don’t even have a box for ukulele. How can I present this little guitar as a gift for s? It’s non-sense. The salespersons were keep talking with a woman who cannot decide what she want. Meanwhile this woman who works there too not paying attention to us at all. She didn’t even ask us if we need any help. Who is really working there? The worst music store.
4. Walmart
Address: 25450 The Old Rd, Stevenson Ranch, CA 91381 , Stevenson Ranch , California , United States
Very Nice. Very Clean. Like this Walmart very much.
Everything you want at prices you can afford
A lot of merchandise was not there last night. Lots of restocking going on.
My daughters searched through the walmart app and found what they where looking for and so we went to the store so we wouldn’t wait for the days of shipping and no where to be found was the item, so they had to buy something else, oh well
One register open? The rest self serve, which Walmart shoppers struggle with. I’ll pass
Poorly organized. Prices are often under the wrong items so be careful. Also, I was in the store for less than 2 minutes and saw at least five employees with their noses hanging out of their masks. It’s bad enough that shoppers do this but employees should set a good example.
Went in for a oil change and headlight bulb replacement. I also asked how long for the headlights restoration treatment. The tech taking down my information said 30 minutes. After asking three times when my car would be done I get my car back FIVE hours later. Then as they are trying to make excuses for the delay they ask me if a tech called me regarding the oil filter. Why would anybody call me, I’m ten feet away in the waiting room. At that moment I find out they have not yet done the oil change nor have they replaced my headlight bulbs. No store manager to be found.
5. Lowe’s Music
Address: 22932 1/2 Lyons Ave, Santa Clarita, CA 91321 , Stevenson Ranch , California , United States
Lowe’s Music has been here for as long as I can remember. I took piano lessons when I was a kid, then got my first and third guitar here. I dropped in after at least a decade since then to get my fourth guitar and it brought back great memories. Lee is the coolest dude ever, knowledgeable and passionate about anything music, and hasn’t changed a bit. Spend your money here instead of a retail store and support a small business.
Great place! Lee (the store owner) is very personable and incredibly knowledgeable about all things music related!
The only music store in scv that’s about the music!!!
So my mother works at the salon next door, and I really love this place. I have been making visits since 2005, since I started playing music. It’s a small store with only one or two people running it, so obviously if about eight customers are there at once it’ll take awhile to get to each one. While the selection isn’t absolutely huge, they’ve got all the basics and a lot more. Friendly customer service as well. I love Lowe’s Music.
I’ve been going to Lee since about 2020 and he’s always been a very gracious man to me! I go to him for every minor or major (from guitars to amps) repairs I’ve ever needed and he’s always ready to get it done! Highly recommended!
Musical Instruments and supplies
Don’t bother. Dismissive to customers. Yes, I’m older … but I’ve played for years — Ignore your customers and guess what – they go away forever!
