Fantastic service! From the time I called to inquire on repair services to when I went to pick up my kids clarinet. Thank you! I honestly called a closer place but the kid on the phone was rude so I chose to drive further and I’m glad that I did. Thanks again, Happy Holidays
Professional Services!! Patient kind staff who knows their stuff!! I get all of my bass guitars serviced there!
Sometimes they have a piano outside for you to play
Poor customer service and very rude! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for any future business transactions.
This place was better in the past than it is currently. The employees were all sitting around in a circle talking and were clearly staring at me whilst I looked around at their selection of products. I was asked several times if I needed help finding anything to the point of annoyance. I told them numerous times that I was not shopping for anything specific and that I was there to look at their selection since I haven’t been there in years. Upon first glance, they moved their small selection of electric guitars into what was the acoustic guitar room (which is very small). They also moved all the acoustic guitars into the main area. Why? I understand that they may sell better there, but that room was literally engineered for acoustics. In addition, they put up signs asking for assistance for playing each guitar in the shop as well. I don’t think they can make it any harder to actually buy something here. Here are my recommendations for improvement. Employees should maintain a professional manner and not have mannerisms that resemble a lunch “get together” where you are sitting in a circle chatting with one another. Secondly, the acoustic guitars need to be in the acoustic room and the electric guitars need to be back in the main part of the store. The sole reason that room was constructed was for sound acoustics. Finally, listen to the customers. It’s evident when employees don’t listen to customers. In my case, I said that I did not need assistance, yet I was sequentially asked four or five times if I needed any.
Manager is the worst kind of human being. Do not shop here. Would never go there again.
6. Mazur Piano Services
Address: 1501 19th St, Columbus, GA 31901 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Excellent service and best price in Columbus. One of the phone numbers on the website doesn’t work. You have to use the cell. Accommodating, honest, and helpful. Very pleased with his work.
Great service!
Never returns calls
Good luck trying to reach this guy or getting him to return your calls
7. Redbox
Address: 413 W Main St, Manchester, GA 31816 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
We always find what we need here. I shop here more than anywhere else.
Great customer service stores always clean
Good purchase price on a table.
Good shopping
Great thanks
Store is always unorganized and unsanitary
This company needs self checkouts. If you’re only going to pay one person to do everything then they should be able to just stock and not have to stop to check out customers. I was just in there and a woman held up a long line and the second employee opens a second register and doesn’t bother to ask who was next. That would have been me. Instead another line forms and I’m there w my one item having been skipped. So I threw it down and took my business elsewhere. TRAIN THESE PEOPLE! Stop trying to enforce modern slavery by paying minimum wage workers to do multiple jobs!
Junkie store hope never have to go back.
9. Jackson’s Music Store Inc
Address: 1651 Horizon Pkwy #500, Buford, GA 30518 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Super friendly environment, true professionals willing to help with every need. I took my son’s clarinet and Doug was able to fix it in a timely manner . I would recommend their services to everyone. Great people!
Excellent repair service. As I described what I wanted done (minor modification and “deep cleaning”) with my 40 year old horn, Ryan asked intelligent questions and confirmed that he understood what I was saying. My trumpet was ready on time, the work was exactly as I had requested, and the price was very reasonable. All the staff at Jackson’s Music were personable and engaging. Thanks, everyone!
I love this music store! Always great service, knowledgeable and super friendly!
Very friendly staff. They make you understand about the different instruments if you have no knowledge about it.
Always pleasant – always professional and it’s been that way since I moved into the area!
I’ve read some of the complaints here and I’ve not had those experiences and I shop there a couple times a year. I also understand how smaller music stores value the integrity of their new products by trying to limit maring the guitar finish with picks. You wanna do that you’re right- go to Guitar Center.
First rate staff and ownership and first rate lessons with an experienced staff!
I’ll keep going back!
I come here for instrument repairs. I’m a professional musician that need his instrument asap. Mark at this location always fixes my sax perfectly. I’m going for a repad in the next two weeks
I can say with confidence that the Band and Orchestra repair shop and some really great Teachers are the ONLY REASON to give this company any of your money. You can trust your brass repairs to be flawless. Those are the only positive comments have.
Rude! Told them I was just looking around at the moment and was laughed at…. shameful behavior by talentless jokes!
Prices are a bit too high on certain instruments plus the employees are very nosey… If you respect personal boundaries go elsewhere.

Very nice and helpful people. We had a great experience. I will shop here again.
Very friendly people
The employees are super friendly and they even remember you on the next visit.
The store was very congested and there was not very much room to move around in my wheelchair. My grandmother had a hard time moving around with her walker. It was very hot in the store and no air conditioning.
Fast in and out usually. They have a section that is Dollar Tree as well.
This store has safety issues. Due to inventory, there are boxes all throughout the aisles. Not enough employees to help checkout go fast.
the new manager is very rude to the customers. the store is a mess
Very bad experience. No one up front to check us out last night around 8:45 pm. I called out 2 times after standing there a few minutes. The sales person came walking up with a new hire and said she almost called back but she was in the office. Then when she checked me out the clearance merchandise I was buying rang up .01 a penny. It was marked a quarter. She then promptly informed me she could not sale me the items and she was going to take them outside and destroy them. I nor my Family will ever shop with FD again.
The needs to update there prices, because I brought a few items and the prices were wrong. They reimbursed me the difference. I go to the store again and the price of the item that I paid was $4.65 for milk that was clearly marked on the refrigerator door I get to the counter and they charge me $4.95 someone needs to get the prices right in there because when people come in and they see one price that’s the price they go by not when you get at the counter it’s more.
12. Walmart Supercenter
Address: 855 N Church St, Thomaston, GA 30286 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Shop there all the time they have almost everything you need
Good value
I like this one better it has so much more .
Good
Isles always cluttered with skids
It’s just so busy at this one. Rather go to the one in Thomaston.
The worst place to take your vehicle for an oil change. I was first one here and I walk into the Bay Area and four guys are all standing around talking while my truck is finished and ready for the tires to be rotated. They see me and start working again. This place is unbelievable
This place needs a whole new staff of workers I have never entered a place where people didn’t greet with a hello or smile. They really need the 10 foot rule glad don’t live anywhere near this Walmart was visiting my parents and they went so I went along never again. I’ve always said if you don’t like your job please find another and don’t make people feel like they bothering you when actually it’s your job. Will not be visiting this one again!!!!!!
Worse ran Walmart i have ever experienced . Customer service sucks .
Out of approximately 20 check outs 1 -2 -are open on a good day .
Carts are not pushable ..
It’s dirty .
Managers aren’t helpful .
The good :
Nothing ..
13. Donley’s Music
Address: 5080 Hickory Flat Hwy, Canton, GA 30115 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Donleys music is Amazing! Donleys music is a very friendly and welcoming place. Dave (owner of Donelys Music) is very polite and kind to anyone that walks into his shop. They have a great variety of electric guitars and acoustic guitars. Donelys music gives the best service! You wont find a better place than Donleys Music. I guarantee it!
The best music store within 50 miles. Incredible people work here!
Donley’s , always, customer service above par but their repair tech did not mirror Donley’s reputation AT ALL. MY 9YR old niece offered to try a repair. I will probably get the same visual “quality” result BUT WOULD SAVE $100.
Very friendly.
They were very nice.
I tried to buy ernie ball regular slinkys and they put ernie ball super slinkys in my bag while I wasn’t paying attention. Poor selection of accessorys.
Bought a guitar from them. Took it home only to notice that a string’s intonantion was off and the neck was too straight. Took it back for them to fix it only to find that they didn’t fix it at all. Took it back a second time and asked them to fix the intonation only for them to, once again, not intonate it but merely tried to tune it. Ended up having to intonate it myself.
What does it say about a guitar store that can’t even intonate a guitar properly given two opportunities?
I brought my son for one month of guitar lessons. There was a break down in their process and we never received a calendar. For this I was called a liar and unethical because I told them we weren’t coming back. The owner says everyone knows this is how they do it but obviously we didn’t know. He said I was stealing money out of the instructor’s pocket. However we paid for all lessons given. The owner couldn’t acknowledge there was the possibility of a mistake (we didn’t get a calendar explaining the policies or the schedule of lessons and the girl that took my money explained it as a month to month payment system) and demanded we pay.
If he had chosen to say That there was a possibility of a mistake and asked if we could meet in the middle without calling my integrity into question then I would have probably paid. We are talking $100 but the fact that he went straight to the only reasonable explanation was that I was lying isn’t acceptable.
We went in the month of September for a total of 3 lessons. I paid for the entire month, half off because we bought a guitar. We didn’t go to a lesson last Monday (first Monday in October or today) not today. I got a text from the instructor asking if we were coming back. I told him we were not. The instructor apologized for how the owner handled the situation and told me that we didn’t owe him anything.
We will not do business here again.
14. Dollar General
Address: 217 E Main St, Thomaston, GA 30286 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Love finding things here….better than Walmart most of the time…
Everything I need at a great price!
Good prices quick and convenient
Would give them atleast 4 rating if they didn’t under staff there stores . Its there regular policy to do that it has nothing to do with covid19 they were like this years ago and if anything gotten worse..great staff pour upper management
Always find what I need, and associates are friendly and helpful
ALWAYS a extremely long line to check out. I had one item and stood in line for 10 minutes. Takes longer to check out than it does to get what you need.
Bad service
Place was very dirty and disorganized, never feel safe in this store.
15. JAWS GUITARS
Address: 111 Mountain Vista Blvd #135, Canton, GA 30115 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Jim the owner is a nice guy, he has great guitar knowledge.
Pro owner, Pro equipment. Great prices and the only pro store in town
If you want professional guitar work James is the man will see him again very shortly great place
Cool store no other music stores in Canton owner is cool
Knowledgeable, friendly owner. Cozy shop and nice environment. Now, if I could just magically learn how to play…..I’d give it one more star….
Jim, the owner is well informed and super friendly. A pleasure to speak with. Inventory changes often. Fun place to to go exploring.
I needed a setup for my Gibson Les Paul and decided to give Jaws a shot because of their overwhelmingly positive reviews. I dropped of my guitar and told the luthier that I was experiencing a lot of fret buzz. The turn around time was very quick and I was able to pick it up the next day. I was told that there would still be some buzz based on my attack, which seemed like a cop out. I asked if there were any high frets and I was assured that there were none. I took the guitar home and played it to find that I was still experiencing buzzing even when strummed lightly. I pulled out the fret rocker to find that several of my frets were high despite what the shop told me. Overall, this was a waste of time and money and I’m very disappointed with the level of service.
16. McDonald’s
Address: 319 W Main St, Manchester, GA 31816 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Everything was great. Fast and food was fresh. Plenty of napkins. Overall very pleasant. Definitely dropping by again on a lazy day.
Best McDonalds experience in years. The food was actually hot (that never happens) the order was correct, and fast. You would think fast, correct & hot would be standard. Nope. This is the first McDonalds that checked all the boxes in a long time!
Newly renovated looks nice. The food was good and fast and the service was good.
Ice cream machine is literally ALWAYS down, but staff was nice and restaurant appears clean.
Dirty tables, trash cans overflowing, no soda we had to drink punch and water. Food was cold
I went through the drive-thru the food was not ready they told me to park on the side and it took them a while, I had to wait for six chicken nuggets for about 20 minutes.
Poor customer service
17. Music Go Round – Atlanta/Duluth, GA
Address: 3675 Satellite Blvd # 100, Duluth, GA 30096 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
They have a large selection of quality used guitars. They have something for every budget.
This has always been my favorite music store. I have been coming to music go round since 2004 and it is still my absolute favorite. Amazing gear, amazing staff!
Staff is helpful. Gold mine for music instruments. Vintage guitars pass through all the time and you’ll never know what treasure you’ll find. I found my dream guitar Godin A6 here for way less than brand new.
I drive from Braselton to get drumsets..stands…snaredrums..pedals…snare cases. I have 5 drumsets so I always need something from your store ! worth the trip always !!
Great selection and great prices. Very helpful and friendly staff.
This is the best place to buy used gear that I have found. I’ve been shopping here since 2009 when they were over in Lilburn, and having said that, I’ve encountered some issues recently. A couple of years ago, I bought a 1999 MIJ Ibanez 7 string for $600 from them. Nice guitar, but recently, my daughter decided to take up drums, so I brought the Ibanez back to get store credit since they take trades, and they offered $300 cash/$325 trade, which seemed low so I sold it the very next day for $750. I came back with the money to buy an electric drum kit, and picked one out. It didn’t have a power supply, but they located one that would work, only to find that the kit was dead, wouldn’t even turn on. So how did it get out on the floor? I picked out another one that said on the tag it had a power supply, but they couldn’t find it and after a long while of searching through various cords they found one that would work, but considering the dead kit and the missing power supply it took a lot longer than you’d think. They seem more disorganized and at times overwhelmed compared to what I’ve experienced in the past, and compared to previous trade in experiences, they seem to be offering less than they used to. Still a great music store though.
I’ve purchased from several other locations and always dealt with people happy to make a deal and help out on the price, this place, nobody seems to care about customer service or making money. They lost out on upwards of $2000 I was ready to give them TODAY. I hope the owner sees this.
Edit: Was told via a reply to this review to call and ask for Ann. Called THE VERY NEXT DAY to find out she’s on vacation. But the way I was told was “she’s not here” “… do you want to tell me what day I should try again” “she’s on vacation”
I will NEVER spend a dollar at this store that needs to fire their entire staff and start over. Absolutely disgusting customer service
Second edit: Finally got ahold of the owner. Just an absolute lack of customer service or any type of common sense. Lost a customer for life.
This place hates money.
Cool if you’re looking for music gear but terrible place to sell, all these guys do is low ball you and try to make as much profit on your gear as possible. Would give a better review if your employees weren’t so stuck up. They’ll be happy to take your money though anytime.
I’m sure this will be looked at as the “just a bad experience review” but I’ll just lay it out and let you decide.
Monday – Brought my bass in to be setup. Waited about 2 and a half hours to be told that they don’t do setups in house. I was also told it would take at least a day.
Tuesday – called in in the afternoon and it still wasn’t picked up.
Wednesday – had a gig Wednesday night. Called at 1. Asked if my bass was picked up. I was told it wasn’t yet. I responded sayibng that I needed my bass for gig. Do not send it off. I show up at the store at 7pm that night to pick up my bass. The store clerks tell me that my bass was already picked… At 12 and whoever was wrong. The clerk tried to call the guy who does their setups and it went straight to voicemail. He told me that he could rush the setup and could have it back early Thursday. I decided to just to borrow my guitarist’s bass and pick up my bass Thursday.
Thursday – I show up to the shop at 7pm. My bass is behind the front desk waiting for me. I tell the clerk that I’m here to pick the bass up. He hands me the bass and tells me that i denied service so nothing was done with it. I left the shop with my bass in hand and never stepping foot in that shop again. I’m also sending my students elsewhere.
Update: my bass is chipped…
18. Town Center Music
Address: 4072 Suwanee Dam Rd NW, Suwanee, GA 30024 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Excellent store. I’ve taken 2 guitars and 1 bass there for setups and electrical work on the recommendation of the leader of a band I play bass in (Drew in one of the other reviews) and he’s 100% right. Awesome setups, fast turnaround time and the electrical work I had done on my P90 Mustang breathed new life into that guitar’s tone. The techs there really knows their stuff and everyone there is friendly and helpful. As long as I’m in Gwinnett, Town Center Music is where I’m going from now on, they ROCK!
Always fast, friendly, knowledgeable service! I am so glad they are close by and that I can trust our guitar to them! They know exactly what needs to be done.
Great experience all around and beautiful set up. Aaron Brown never pressured me to buy anything but played different guitars for me while I had my back turned so I could choose by sound alone. Pretty cool. Will definitely be a returning customer. Thanks for helping me today
Good
Taught my kids to play guitar
Much better store I not been here in a while the past manager was not a music guy or a manger known as a air head I will be back
Store is dirty poor selection not real big
Took down my review. Owner ultimately seemed to care about his customers. Too bad everything is so politically incorrect. Anyone still remember Archie Bunker?
But to clarify what idiot would try to exchange something opened, like a reed.
Amazon prime still winnnning.
AVOID AVIOD
High prices not helpful run by a guy who looks 40 and still in a garage band no music
background not open late any place better then here. Manger is clueless.

20. John Lee’s Piano Repair
Address: 1074 Bartley Rd, LaGrange, GA 30241 , Talbot County , Georgia , United States
Simply the best. Restored a square grand for Jackson Presbyterian Church that was breathtaking. Tunes, restores and more.
Absolutely the best, most honest and knowledgeable person in the area!
Has tuned my piano several times and it sounds awesome when he’s finished. Thank you!
$300 for a 2.5 hour tuning today. Just gonna leave that here. That is a lot , and was told will be another $150 for follow up tuning next month if I chose. I had assumed the whopping $300 would have gotten me a bit more tuning time. Or at least a discount in a second tune!
