My go to spot for vinal! The owner is very friendly, and knows everything about music. A great place to get records, CDs, music collectables, or just talk about the musical world. It’s also an iconic spot in Mill Valley history, and has lots of depth. Worth at least popping in and checking it out!
The best music shop in town! I love going to Mill Valley Music! The collection is great, there is always something g here for you. Drop by and say hi to Gery, he is knowledgeable and incredibly kind.
Nice collection of records and cds
Good selection of vinyl and CDs but the place is so packed it’s very hard to find anything

I have attended many social Fusion dancing events that Josh was hired to perform at in and around the San Francisco Bay Area as well as in Seattle, Portland, Philadelphia, Denver, and Vancouver. At these events, Josh performed his own original electronic music for huge crowds of dancers. He is a very talented musician, and has great stage presence. I love his original songs!!
I have also listened to him play great covers on the piano as he leads a group thru some late night karaoke sing-alongs 🙂
Recently I contracted him to help me record and produce a song of my own, and he really guided me every step of the way.
Josh is also a music teacher offering piano, drum, guitar and ukelele lessons out of his home studio.
I couldn’t recommend him more as both a performer and a teacher!!
Josh did a few of my friends weddings now and I will always recommend him in the future. Not only is he an outstanding DJ but he played the piano while my best friend walked down the aisle. He also does all of the announcements and makes everybody feel comfortable to dance. I am now taking ukulele lessons from Josh and was able to play after the first day. I’m not a pro but I learned four chords and that’s most songs LOL. He is great with kids as well.

I took lessons from Niels for a few years. I can’t say more about his knowledge and care for me as a student. Niels has a gift playing and teaching that translates to a relaxed and completely motivating learning environment.

This place is like a museum. We were scared to touch the guitars because of how valuable they were. We absolutely loved it.
Something we noticed though is that the door was open so humidity might be changing too much, which isn’t good for the guitars, but I bet the owners know about it? I don’t know, just thought I’d mention that.
An absolute hidden gem of guitars. Incredible selection, good service and really nice people. Worth making a special trip to check out!
Very pleased! Had my 00015m Martin string spacing widened at the bridge to suit my playing style. She went above and beyond and matched the bridge color with the guitar. Looks and sounds fabulous. And also big props to the employees that helped me out. Very friendly. Highly recommended. Fast turn around also!

Such a skilled and fun band! I hired them for an open house party and they made the night amazing! Ben was a pleasure to work with and It wouldn’t have been the same without them. Highly recommend!
Brass Animals performed for us at our home for a special birthday and “proposal” event. They played for a half hour and we had a 6 piece band. Working with Ben and Luke to plan for the event was so easy and they truly care about ensuring the details are delivered. The music was rockin and the band members were all so fun and gracious. They helped me pull of a surprise that was so special to us and you could tell they really enjoyed it too! I can’t wait to work with them again in the future!
Brass Animals were amazing! I asked them to play a second line parade after our wedding as a surprise for my husband and it went perfectly. Ben was so flexible and accommodating with last minute scheduling updates and minor location changes and everything was handled so smoothly. Our guests had so much fun walking around City Hall with the band, and most importantly, my husband loved the New Orleans-themed surprise. They were great musicians and I’m so happy with how everything went.

They worked on two of my mandolins and two of my bass guitars and did a fabulous job. The prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend checking them out.
Jon Pederson, terrific luthier.
Easy to get to. Beautify building, amazing collection of guitars, ukuleles, banjos and violins. Prices are really good and the owner is as nice as they get. He does not do the hard sell. He will tell you when you come in to check out want you want and ask for help when you need it. Take him up on it. Oh, and word has it that he is talented at repairing string instruments.
Superb spot for the hard to find string instrument or the impossible to find.
Great local music store. Got my first guitar from their old store when I was 13. Comfortable layout and helpful service. Ask John to fix your violin or if you’re looking to take up Uke/banjo.
