My favorite guitar shop in the Magic City! They always have a myriad of vintage guitars, and amps on hand, and all the usual accessories any aspiring guitarist would need. I’ve bought almost all my guitars from here, and whenever I need work done on any of them, I bring them to Harold for repairs and mods. The staff is always friendly and never over bearing. Stop by when you get a chance, you might be surprised by what you find inside!
My kinda music store. Classic amps and guitars. Helpful staff
This store has a modest inventory with some great guitars in it. They are “priced at market” with almost no flexibility on pricing. The only issue I ran into was pricing guitars and amps at the high side of Reverb and Ebay regardless of condition. If the listings are $600 for sale online (but selling for $450 in mint condition) and Highland has a similar item in good condition but missing a knob or backplate, the Highland price will likely still be $550-$600. That said, the employee was nice and fairly knowledgeable when he had time for a quick question. Overall, a good place to check for 1-off and unique guitars but don’t expect a “steal” or to haggle. That just ain’t gonna happen here.
If you love music and you need an instrument repair this place is a definite gem.
Won’t ever visit again! No greetings, no nothing. I was in the store about ten minutes and no one ever acknowledge it. I was referred to this place by the guy in Homewood music shop but he could’ve saved the breath he use cause nothing was worth driving to this store for!!
Pretty darn rude staff, including the owner, Don. After 40 years in business I guess they’ve earned the right, though.
Very condscending and not friendly to younger people. Im not a know it all but some of the stuff the man was talking about wasnt correct. Rather go to bailey brothers theyre friendly and very nice
Great place to get you’re guitar accessories with helpful staff
I forgot the guys name but he’s amazing and I love coming here. They have lessons as well
Quaint and friendly, pressure-free local guitar store with plenty of stuff a musician would want.
Great inventory and excellent friendly service from a fellow named Ken. Very knowledgeable
Great sales,super repair work!
Nice small business. Very helpful.
The people are nice but the stuff you buy here is garbage.
I went in yesterday and asked about a Gretch open back banjo on the back wall that didn’t have a price tag. The reply I got from the bearded gent behind the counter was ” I don’t know, probably $300 or something”, and then he walked away like I didn’t exist. The vibe I got from him was “I dont want to help you. I won’t help you”. I buy a LOT of instruments and spend thousands of dollars per year on all sorts of music equipment, but this store has shown me that they don’t want my business and they aren’t interested in having any sort of customer care. I didn’t want to go to Guitar Center anymore, I would like to buy from a local store, but Guitars and More has discouraged me from doing any business with them. My advice to other customers is to go elsewhere. They don’t want your business and they don’t deserve your business.

Great service. Best producers in the game! Great prices and results. Call and book your appointments now.
The people at T3 are great. I loved every minute with them.
One of the best studio facilities on the planet love the vibe and there’s always great things happening love the staff and all the hard work they provide I love T3 Studios
Booked session days before and doubled confirmed and they never showed up. I can 3 hours away to record with these guys so I’m extremely disappointed
6. Dollar General

Staff an manager very nice an helpful founded every thing I was looking for.
Great people
(GARDENDALE LOCATION)
They have a great selection of craft & art. I arrive 15 minutes before they open and I was told I have to wait to come. I only asked can I come in because I seen a Caucasian guy walk in and begin shopping before they open. I REALLY HATE THAT I GET MISTREATED BECAUSE OF MY SKIN TONE
“NO WEAPON FORM AGAINST ME SHALL PROSPER”
Always out of my toilet paper
Good
Just a little clutter! Tight, stocking was being done during my visit.
I have never experience such rude incompetent employees in my life! You ask a question and you would think I spit in their face or something the way they look at you. I know it’s not in the best of neighborhoods but I try not to judge a book by it’s cover BUT this location Tarrant 35217 across from Krystals is the worst of them all. I’m not the type of customer to complain except if it’s really necessary and I would say it’s very necessary to let other people know to go spend their hard earned money somewhere else like maybe Family Dollar which there’s two in Tarrant. Complaining to management is a waste of time because they seem to not care at all….. SAD VERY SAD!
Very very very slow no matter what time I go always a long wait

Great place to go.Got my new clasical guitar there.
Repair shop – especially the woodwind tech, Brian, since I’m a sax player – are fantastic. Very knowledgeable about the workings of the instrument and willing to work with you on modifications. I’ve taken several saxophones for full overhauls and they are lightyears better than before. Even when I move I will try and get work done here if I can.
Very helpful and knowledgeable!!
Attended a Breedlove Guitar Showcase. Art’s Music Shop in-store acoustic guitar lineup includes Breedlove, Michael Kelly, and Yamaha.
Friendly & knowledgeable but took longer than expected to get instrument serviced. I was told would be called the next day with estimate, & it was 3 days before I received the call. I told them I had to get instrument back by a specific date for a performance, he said “not a problem”, I was calling them to get it back 4 days before performance, & was able to pick it up the day before it. They kept it for a month, & I was never able to speak directly to guy doing service which was not cheap. Don’t be in a hurry when dealing with them!
This is an excellent music shop with any kind of music instrument or sheet music you might be looking for – whether student model or professional level instrument they have it. Recommended
Awful place, horrible customer service, and the insurance isn’t worth a damn! Gadsden Music is way better!
Arts is overpriced.
If you want to resell any instrument that you previously bought from this company, don’t do it. Don’t waste your time. You will not be offered anything close to what the store sold the instrument to you before.
9. BLK Doughboy Romeo
Address: 229 Glynn Dr, Birmingham, AL 35215 , Tarrant , Alabama , United States
We always go here for our musical needs. I love the place. They are always friendly and helpful. I would recommend any musician to this place.
I needed 2 wireless mics for our church’s old PA system. They are so helpful! They want to make sure that what you purchase from them will work! Nothing like good customer service!
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Bailey Brothers. I’ve dealt with every staff member over the years. The service and the product is always the best. I appreciate the professionals that work here and recommend anyone looking for an instrument to look at Bailey Brothers first!
It was my first time in the store and I had an excellent experience. David was very helpful and friendly as well as the other staff present. The online site lacks a lot of the guitars they have in stock because they get new guitars a lot so I would advise actually going into the store to see their wide selection.
good staff well organize not bad products
Good selection of musical equipment. Be prepared because they strictly enforce the muzzle mandate inside. They make you wear masks.
I came in here the other day and they were incredibly overbearing and checked in on me every 30 seconds. From the second I walked in they were all up in my face and insisted on providing an address and phone number whenever I paid which I fully expect to be sold somewhere. I don’t know if they’re struggling to keep the lights on or something but the amount of customer service was way too much and came across as pushy and rude. Literally just let me shop.
No stars really. Not a very good merchant. Let someone use my credit card number without the card! Be careful!
This place is as good as, if not better than, Guitar Center. But this one man that works there is not the friendliest and makes me and my music buddy never wanna come again… I was gonna buy at least $20-$60 of stuff, and my buddy was gonna get his guitar worked on, but we decided against it after our experience today.
My friend and I were playing our guitars together at moderate volumes. No louder than the other customers that passed through. Our volume knobs probably were set around 1. This rude clerk guy came up to us and told us “turn it down, there are customers in here”. When there was maybe 1 other guy in the guitar room at most. What are we, trash? Are we not customers?
Though to be fair, there was a little kid who sat behind us who was louder than both of us combined, and he was tremolo picking the most random nonsensical annoying noise (future shredder?), but he should’ve told the kid to turn down—not us. We both turned our amps off because he was rude the last time we were in the store and we were pretty annoyed at this point. But the kid turned his amp down and continued the random picking and the dude immediately came back and said “hey, okay, turn it off, that’s enough for today” and took the guitar from the kid. The rudest music store clerk we’ve ever encountered. There’s another guy who is super nice that works there who let us turn the volume up—at least 2 or 3 times what we did today—and test every amp in the store. We bought a $2,000 setup from the nice guy in the past, but this rude guy would probably kick us out of the store before we could make a purchase. I didn’t catch his name, but he’s average height, blondish, his hair is thinning, and he had a short beard. A nicer worker told us he’s been there 3 years, though I’m not sure how he’s lasted that long. He’ll probably follow you around like you’re a thief and ask if he can help you 8 times like he did to us the last time we came in the store simply to buy a cable.
Repaired my son’s trombone. Excellent work! Quickly done!
Great place to buy or rent an instrument. Especially if your child isn’t sure what they want to play. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I needed to return an instrument and had absolutely no problems! Just a few minutes and we were out the door! Would definitely buy/rent from them again!
Did a great job on repairing my daughters flute. Very friendly staff and, knowledgeable.
Overall good store, but lacking in some instrument accessories.
Nice little music store for concert students. Not much in store selection but they can get what you need. This is not a guitar center type store.
Fantastic friendly service at a reasonable price
I have an account with this company and when I arrived to drop off an instrument, I was immediately told
“Do you have a repair? Can you leave it at least a month? We’re that backed up and that’s just the way it is.” I have no problem with businesses having business but I do have a problem with being a loyal customer and being spoken to so rudely. I will not be returning for any new future transactions. What an unfortunate example of bad customer service.
Worst customer service! Really had no interest in talking to my child who is the one to be playing the instrument. Will gladly spend my thousands of dollars somewhere else!
The Birmingham location is by far the RUDEST place I have ever encountered! The staff is HORRIBLE (outside of Ms. Carolyn Gadsden)! Whenever you call they don’t seem interested or concerned with conducting business. My child’s instrument was in the shop for over a month. I left several messages and emailed only to be told they stopped working on it and needed my credit card info first. When the rep visited the school, I was given a flyer that clearly states the instrument will be repaired and then you are to pay. I am highly disgusted! My child’s grade has been effected as a result of the long wait times and the staffs inability to effectively communicate with its customers. DO NOT deal with them if you have other options!!! Smh!

Knowledgeable, friendly guys with a great selection!
Friendly atmosphere and lots of instruments.
Good product, Good service.
I’ve never dealt with someone so rude over the phone. The owner tried to guilt me with sarcasm and acted like victim when I questioned a price. Full story: I asked to order a cello string. All was going well (owner answered questions about speed of shipping and availability of the string), but then he quoted a price ($81) that was far above what other shops charge. I said respectfully that “I’ve purchased the string for $45 at other walk-in shops” and he became sarcastic and argumentative with me, claiming he was “holding my hand” through the process, and said “Well, I have to pay $35 for this string so what do YOU think is fair for ME to make? $15? What is 35 + 15, huh? Ohhh, maybe $50 is more than you can afford?” A simple, “well this is my price” would have been fine as a response from him, but I felt disrespected so I hung up and decided I’m never going to spend a dime Homewood Musical Instrument Co. I advise everyone else to steer clear of this shop and the guy who owns it.

McDonald’s was very fast and the drive thru was very sweet for 6 am.
Fresh food and fast
A great place still for the kids food is ok just too expensive.
Is fast service
Very kind staff. Clean and friendly
Business is very very slow.
Horrible service they take forever. I walked in to get my son a milkshake and they just ignored me and acted like I wasn’t there
Bad and slow service, cold food, no ice for drink. Employees playing around
Very slow drive thru. No matter what you order you will be asked to park and they will bring your food out to you. Its quicker to order from their inside counter. Save time and stop somewhere else.

I worked with Beverly and Bena to get our account set up correctly and get our equipment serviced and repaired. Beverly was very helpful, knowledgeable, sweet and funny!! It truly was a pleasure talking with her.
It’s way too quiet in the waiting area we need music I didn’t like the awkwardness besides that love it❤️
Didn’t see much. They are good when you need hydraulic lines made
Great place to deliver, just a little tight for the docks.
