My first visit to sound choice.
I had a guitar as a gift which was purchased from sound choice. My first lesson with instructor Kevin.
I’ve never played before he was great and I feel confident already.
Store has multiple musical instruments in it with all ranges of price.
They also modify and repair instruments.
It’s a great experience and well worth a visit.
Great local store with great prices..avoid the box stores!
Cool little music shop. Worth going and especially if you need a setup on your instrument.
When I can I prefer to spend my money at mom -n- pop businesses and A Sound Choice is a great guitar shop. Knowledgeable and they have a great selection of music making products. The corporate guitar stores don’t always hire staff that even know what a treble clef is so my advice is spend your money here.
Ordered a guitar on Reverb and Ken always answered the phone and was very helpful throughout the process. I ordered a Larrivee OM-40 and it was listed as brand new but definitely had a dent and 2 scratches which was disappointing but overall a good experience with the process.
The guitar however has a terrible extreme buzzing noice, especially when playing on the first 7 frets of the 4th, 5th, and 6th strings…even when playing a single note and strum lightly…a terrible buzz. I can’t seem to figure out where it is coming from. I will have to take to a luthier which is unfortunate given that it is a brand new guitar. He did say he sanded the saddle down before shipping to lower the action, suspicious that is the problem.
Update: Took it into a luthier. The saddle had been sanded down, action too low, poor job with the setup. Had to build me a new saddle. New strings, and adjusted trust rod as well. Buzzing gone. Sounds and plays like a dream!
2. Sam Ash Music Stores
Address: 95 Amity Rd, New Haven, CT 06515 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
It has everything you want about instruments and audios
I absolutely adored my entire experience here. Big Jim was incredibly knowledgeable and with it being my first guitar purchase, that was very helpful. He was very kind and helped me make the best decisions within my budget. I definitely reccomend this place! 🙂
I went looking for Practice Pads for our beginners Drummers for our Drill Squad and the young man that works in the Drums & Snars section was very helpful he was very knowledgeable about the Drum sticks that will be of best quality for my boys. I’m definitely happy with the choices as well as the Drummers.
Lots of inventory, could use more staff to attend customers, but overall good location and parking
Over priced, but they have the essentials.
Decent selection, nice staff, but none of the electronic drums were on, no drumsticks, nobody asked if I needed help. Drum counter salesperson never raised his head from his computer to ask me if I needed anything. Not all drummers are there to show off. I haven’t played in years, and wanted a quiet practice kit. I ended up leaving with guitar picks. I guess I’ll go online. : (
Use the excuse they own the company to screw you on a guitar you bought from them 9 months earlier . Brought in as a test and they failed a guitar should not lose half its value in 9 months if you sell it as your brand!
Edit: This review was written over ten years ago but a small edit and it has now posted as recent. Not sure why but that’s not why I’m writing this edit here. This review being posted prompted a manager from Sam Ash to contact my father (who has the same name as me) to try and address whatever issue prompted the negative review. My father called me to let me know and told me the manager would like me to call him. Well… I’ve called around 6 times now and can’t get through, it simply hangs up on me after pressing #2 for a manager. I decided to give the 1-800# a call to see if they could connect me to the New Haven store manager because it kept hanging up on me. Guess what? Twice I called the 1-800#, twice they hung up. At this point it’s comical. I don’t even really remember what my issue was when I wrote this review but things must not be any better down there at Sam Ash since I can’t even contact anyone. Keep up the great work guys.
Original Review:
“You want a real review then look no further. When you walk into Sam Ash it is like walking into a garage sale. Used products trying to be pawned off with brand new retail prices. Almost everything I purchased from Sam Ash had to be returned or replaced. Customer Service hah! Forget about it. Some preemie-punk band wannabees who know only what their 1978 computer programmed screen tells them on how low they can go without making a commision. If you are a novice they will clean your wallet without even blinking! Do not buy into their trade-in program HUGE let down. They will not take anything!! You are better off going to the local pawn shop with your gear. I brought in a workstation worth triple what I was trying to trade for and they looked as confused as George Bush at a press conference and still would not trade. Do not waste your time with this Flea Market! Do yourself a favor and make the extra trip to Guitar Center or if you need orchestra instruments see your local music shop you will be 100% better off. I am a 25+years musician and HAVE NOT and DO NOT work at any music store so what you read is the truth do with it what you want.”
Drove 25 minutes to the store only to find out it doesn’t open until noon. Utterly rudiculous! Just close your doors for good if you’re going to have such restrictive hours!
3. Acoustic Music
Address: 4 Maple St, Chester, CT 06412 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
if you play guitar and enjoy finer instruments you got to stop in…. the best selection of quality acoustic guitars and a few electrics too for those who like to plug in. They will also match Sweetwater as well. So if you need a new instrument stop in and support a local shop.Very knowledgeable staff as well.
I purchased an Eastman E10D acoustic here. Jad them install a K&K pickup as well. Great service, great folks, great shop!
I stopped in to play some of the nicer acoustics on my journey to buying a better guitar to age with. I also brought my Taylor, which needed a slight adjustment. My guitar and I were both treated with the utmost care and respect. The gentleman even made a point to wash his hands before touching my guitar and left me to peacefully play some of the superb and rather expensive instruments in the shop while he adjusted my Taylor’s neck. If I were ready to spring on a purchase, I would feel 100% at ease to shop here and make an afternoon of playing everything until I was confident in my choice. Superb shop, superb service, superb care for the customer. 5 stars. Once I’ve tried some of the other guitars I need to cross of my list, I will come back here for a Collings or Martin if those guitars win the next spot in my studio.
Had a guitar cable when I needed it.
Thé Owners are lousy business
Not many mandolins
No prices listed
4. Connecticut Music Co
Address: Westbrook, CT 06498 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Excellent customer service. Very knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant staff. Wide variety of musical instruments with reasonable prices.
very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly family owned music store
JC Music has excellent staff and teachers. They have a wonderful selection of products at very affordable prices. My daughter has been taking violin lessons for a few months now and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
Would like to obtain some nice brushes and some type of top hat set used and very sturdy since I break percussion instruments all the time when I perform?
My son, Roberto Luis and Rosa live in Meriden. Are you far from the mall? I have spent a lot of time jamming in Puerto Rico to salsa, merengue, etc but my favorite is funk like Buddy Miles.
My grandson really enjoyed the music lessons and they are very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend them.
Never have any of the literature or instrument parts I’m looking for. Took 3 months to repair a trombone. I tried to return an item and they wouldn’t give me back the cash to go to another place. The owner has blatantly disrespected my mother on several occasions and doesn’t have much knowledge of much of anything outside of rock music. As far as i’m concerned, this is the worst music store i’ve ever set foot in and would not recommend to anybody.
This was a horrible expierence. They need to get their stuff together, they had already-sold instruments on shelf. They had an amazing guitar sale and when I went to buy, it was already sold! They got my hopes high and let it down and I will not give them my money any longer.
Completely disappointed. I placed an order in store on a instrument that was never placed with JC music. The customer service was poorly displayed and the options they gave us was not acceptable. I asked to speak to the owner several times and would not get on the phone and made his new employee talk to me. I ended up going somewhere else that was amazing
6. The Music Shop
Address: 405 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
They don’t normally carry the highest end instruments, but they’re price competitive on all they carry, very helpful, and best of all honest and trustworthy. My son had guitar lessons for years and loved it. Repair work, mods and set ups are top notch.
Great Place.Awesome Teachers
I’ve been doing business with Scott at the music shop for years, he knows about the needs of musicians and great on any repairs or just info on your current instrument. Will hopefully be doing many more years here.
Great place but website could be better such as pics of some used equipment. I’m a drummer and would like to see what they have for new and used cymbals, stands, drum kits etc. And prices. I have done business with them and always had a great experience the reason for three stars is the website doesn’t do the music shop justice. All and all great store great people.
The cellos were in not in good shape and we had to pay a luthiere to redo repairs that were poorly done when we received the instrument.
7. Rayburn Music
Address: 22B Andover Dr, West Hartford, CT 06110 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Excellent Quality of both service and instruments.
Very helpful.
Very friendly fast and efficient service! I love shopping local
Fast and friendly service
trying to reach the store for the past 5 months. they are not responding to email or phone call. The phone service is also disconnected now.
we are left with no response and no refund.
We rented a viola from Rayburn. The first viola wasn’t put together right (something to do with the bridge). after switching to another viola we realized the bow doesn’t quite fit with the viola.
we rented from the music store in the center and it was a great experience but pricier. though Rayburn isn’t cheap either
they will be replacing the viola once more, lets see how it goes this time…
In store service is good but can never call the Hartford Rayburn Music. Electronic voice prompts to dial 0 for an attendant but when do so it says “Your call cannot be transferred” been a customer for about 3 years. Never could get done anything over phone. Have to visit store for everything.
8. Giuliano’s Music
Address: 406 Westport Ave, Norwalk, CT 06850 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Bobby and staff are awesome! Took my PRS in for a fret job. The guitar is phenomenal! I used to frequent his father’s shop in White Plains when I was a kid. Great to have these guys local! Thanks Bobby!
Giuliano’s Music Store is truly a gift to this community.
From purchasing an instrument or having your prized guitar repaired or set up to perfection, Bobby has you covered with care and detail.
Robert Balestra is a gifted luthier repairman for all things with 4, 6 or 12 strings. Johnny Winter, Ace Frehley and Grammy Award winning guitarist/producer Paul Nelson. Great staff & service. Lessons available
Good service, very nice staff and management!
I went needing a pack of guitar strings to find out that they were closed. Their hours online say 12-4 on Saturday. Their door said the same. Lights off no one answered the phone. The time I went you ask? 3:25. EDIT:I have since gone back and they have been very nice and kind. Which has let me to update my rating.
Everyone was insanely helpful from who I spoke to on the phone for customer support, to the guy that helped me out when I came to pick up the amp in store. Giuliano’s Music takes care of its customers. Will definitely be returning for anything else I need in the future.
9. DuBaldo Music Center
Address: 881 Main St, Manchester, CT 06040 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Finally got to visit after doing some business over the phone 18 years ago with Pete. Great inventory, selection and people. One of the very best examples of why we need to support local businesses and how great a family can run them!
I’ve never been more comfortable trying out guitars in a shop. I drove over an hour to get here and the customer service made it completely worth it. They have an incredible selection of great sounding instruments and went out of their way to make sure I found the guitar I wanted. Highly recommend this place.
Phenomenal shop that really personifies customer service! Pete is a great guy to deal and talk shop with. My guitar arrived safe, secure AND quickly. I can’t recommend DuBaldo enough, just give them a call or stop by already!
Great service
10. Martel Music Store
Address: 1 Whiting St, Plainville, CT 06062 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Wow what a cool place. My favorite Gretsch guitars were in evidence and I got to play a Brian Seltzer Hot Rod . I used it to try out my new purchase of Source Audio reverb pedal. Thanks to the Martel’s for making me feel welcome and for a terrific deal. I’ll be back!
You can get guitars and gear at a million places, but if you want a cool place with just the best stuff – no junk – and someone who knows ALL the details, go here. Bonus if you’re a Gretsch player, because he all the models you wish you had.
Stopped by Martel’s on a whim to have my vintage Fender amp retubed and biased. Their amp tech went above and BEYOND what I could’ve ever asked for. He not only burned in the tubes, but he also took the time to clean out all the caps and really just the whole amp. Very detailed servicing. Amp sounds
That’s what local business is all about. The details.
These guys will nail whatever you need and do it RIGHT for a fair price. Whether it’s finding your dream guitar or specialized repair work.
Thanks Corey & Mark.
Interesting store with some interesting gear. They don’t seem to carry Fender or Gibson. They had a stomp box manufacturing class going on when I visited.
As one reviewer already stated. They have a terrible return policy especially with online purchases. Good store as long as you know you’re going to keep the item but who really knows, its musical gear, its hard to tell if your going to dig it or not until you play it with your rig. Returning a pedal (or probably anything) is just not worth it due the return fees. 2 stars because I received it pretty quickly but definitely wasn’t packed that well. Without a doubt this will be my last purchase from this store. There’s plenty of other great stores to choose from that won’t bend you over on return fees. **Edit for response to the owner** Yes you do clearly state your return fees online. “Small restocking fee” is a bit of an understatement…your restocking fee is 10%. If I pay $250 for a guitar pedal. Right off the bat you’re keeping $25 of my return. I couldn’t imagine purchasing a guitar online through your store.
Purchased a guitar for 750, now walking out with 637. Unfortunately I was not told about a very unfair and sneaky return exchange policy until I had asked after already completing the purchase. Also could not see clearly a visible sign inside that states anything about a return policy. When I asked where the sign was upon trying to return this guitar he pointed to have a corner and I still did not see the sign. I do believe that a return policy sign should be at the register for full disclosure. The law does state you are entitled to a full refund if you are not told about the refund policy during the time of the transaction, which I was not informed of that. Limited selection and unfortunately subject to a very steep restocking fee or store credit, if you are a serious musician make sure you know this first as you know that buying instruments is quite expensive and it is hard to want to get locked into something that you do not truly love.
11. La Salle Music & Sound
Address: 993 Main St #2233, East Hartford, CT 06108 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Cool little music store with a certain old-school, pawn-shop vibe. Found a cool, used Kustom powered monitor/mixer and a short mic stand, useful items at a great discount. Enjoyable experience, since the staff was cool and helpful, letting me borrow a mic and cable to test my purchase before buying.
Very curtious and quick service went to fix guitar ❤
First, the employees were excellent; friendly and helpful. I was extremely disappointed in the store itself. This was basically a dark, messy pawn shop, not the store I was familiar with from years ago. My only reason to go back would be to pick through dusty items to find something I might be in search of, more of an adventure.
Closed even though the hours said it was open (3 pm on a Wednesday). The place looked like a hoarders attic. Absolute mess.
Total waste of my time
Sent me a different accordion with no straps and a case that should of been thrown out
12. Music & Arts
Address: 315 W Main St, Avon, CT 06001 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Fantastic group of workers who go above and beyond to help every customer.
We just went there to purchase a Synthesizer.
Very very friendly staffs. Even We hung on with them long time, they made us so happy.
Thank you.
Love this music shop. Everyone is experienced, super helpful, and respectful of covid procedures.
An error in judgment when I decided to place an order for them to send out my two guitars I STILL to this day can’t string myself worth beans. Decent store for the most part but what really got me sore was the fact that the clerk said that they send their instruments out to a repair tech in E. Hartford but then found out that for whatever reason they have to send the guitars to a tech in BOSTON and the woodwind and brass instruments are the only instruments they ferry back and forth for repairs to EH. Misleading and wonder if it were intentional or whether or not someone else over there neglected to tell him that the different instruments get repaired at different locations. Not my fault I didn’t get the right info but certainly my fault I opted to not take my precious guitars back before the start of business last week so I could either try once again to string them myself or have someone else nearer to me I’d forgotten momentarily about do it for me instead. Ideally I’ll see if I can learn the proper way to string them from now on to save on the cost and also to not feel helpless and at the mercy of someone else whose repair shop happens to be out of state yet.
I really don’t like there! The drum teacher charged me for 3 times but only want to teach twice! The attitude of stuffs were not nice either! So horrible!
The details pertaining to the boxes in and around the location are not what I am interested in anymore. Absolutely in poor taste to remove something biodegradable without thinking. I’d give it a 5 star if the app let me!
I purchased two bell covers at the end of August, chose store pickup, but they never called me and then the charge show up on my credit card statement on Dec 04 (after 3 month?). The credit card company helped to credit $19.12 back, but then the case went to debt collector. I had wasted too much time calling different phone number, waiting on line, so I decided just paid this 20 bucks and tell everyone about my experience. I also had our clarinet maintenance done 4 weeks ago here, but again, they are supposed to call me but they never do!!! I had to drive to the store, asked them to check the status, and realized that everything is in pending. The phone number on file is correct, they just never call. I guess shopping in the store is ok, but never expect them to call you for anything..
13. Guitar Center
Address: 839 Queen St, Southington, CT 06489 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Better selection than most locations. Didn’t buy but the kids have narrowed down what they want in terms of new electric guitar and drum set
We were treated well. The selection of keyboards and guitars was awesome. The salesman was knowledgeable and we had a great experience. We walked out with just the guitar we wanted. No pressure salesmen and easy off highway access made it all tbe more while. This is a good place to get your stuff.
The staff are very friendly and eager to please.
Me gusto por su varied de instruments y sus empleados.
Good location and friendly staff. I wish they stocked more of the higher end gear available on the site. The selection of used amps and guitars does somewhat makeup for the lack of current new gear. Guitar center, if you are listening please stock your stores with the Ibanez AZs, Boss ES8, Axe FX, Line six helix, etc…. please…
Went in the store with the intent of it being a quick visit. All I needed was a drumhead… seemed like all the staff in the store went on a break at the exact same time. Nobody around to cash me out as one employee simply stared at me from the office, not even asking if I needed assistance. Had to wait about 15-20 minutes or so just to complete purchase. No sense of urgency
Loss its appeal 1salesman brings down how place. Avoid at all costs unless you like condescending know it alls
Southington Store has a history of four walls of guitars, alll out of tune. That’s when they had a Guitar Service Station (manned/unmanned) . Today Station gone?, all but 6 acoustics are under lock and key. Two of the six have broken strings, 2 of the 4 remaining are remarkably, in tune, likely by customers.
During recent October purchase, with only one other customer in store, We were in plain view of Southington Store Manager from office. We were front and center and ignored for 10 mins, then assisted by the Manager once he had a counterperson in the saddle. Likely waited for the counterperson to return from break or come on shift. He assisted us with the shelved PA, then brought the item and I over to their Closer (an overzealous counterman bent on bottomline/commissons).who appeared suddenly, like the budding enterpriser was beamed down from the Enterprise.
We were in the neighborhood, so we stopped in. I thought I left GC Store Card at home. I often leave ancillary cards, I rarely use, at home. I wanted to place the purchase on my GC account as I only had a $30 balance on my account. The counter person was happy to look up and verify. He said the good news was that he was able to verify me and my account, the bad news he proclaimed, was that my GC Account was CLOSED due to lack of use. I admit, the last GC Account purchase was just under/over a year. He said “no problem” we can get you approved for a New account”. Visibly perplexed and doubtful about what I was told, I pulled my Discover CC from wallet. He went on to say, it would be of no detriment to my credit if I applied for GC Account again. There would be no hard pull is only half truth. When he was done Hard pulling my leg, Synchrony would again be Hard-pulling my credit again, if I ok’d the go ahead w/new account. Why would they close an account that still carried a current balance, and not notify the Account holder, directly?! Thanks but, No Thanks!, Know all about Soft Pull/No Pull vs Pull the trigger on the new account which Hard Pulls your credit. That’s funny, the twenty something trying to bamboozle the 50 something into thinking . “I can get a New GC Store Account with no Hard pull”.
Anyone that shops at Brick n Mortor Retail, likely know by now, that Cashiers and Counterpersons are often incentivised by getting the customer to Use or Apply for their Store Account.. But when they misinform you and fraudulently try to wreck your credit, while getting another “Atta-Boy” for selling another GC Store Account. I take issue with that. Imagine the mess, and the Domino effect, Fraud Alerts, Credit Card Acct freezes, and thats before weeks, perhaps months of Credit Bureau Disputes and revsions effect that might have played out, had I allowed counterperson to convince me My account closted and open another GC Store Account, while I already have one.
Once home with that purchase, I was forced to place on another card, I touched base with Syncrony Bank. Not only was my account ACTIVE, I even INCREASED my credit limit on the ACTIVE account No Hard pull, required on an ACTIVE,CURRENT GOOD STANDING Acct due . An amazing feat with a “Closed account” Returned to the store with my GC Card in hand, and the purchase I made with Discover. Manager Said “no problem, we can refund your Discover and place the purchase on your GC account… Uhm NO Thanks, I advised him that his counterperson could have done that in the first place. I returned the Monitor unopened along with the Extended Warranty. I keep stuff, not the musician that trading up/down/ or parting/pawning out.
Manager was composed and apologetic until he ultimately defended his counterperson’s behavior and even went as far as to boast what kind of numbers that counterperson was doing monthly. How by fleecing customers or by genuinly working your tail off? You were doing so good, until you let that cat out of the bag.. STAY AWAY!! I’ll buy it somewhere else where the water is Sweet, instead.
Found the amp i wanted, staff was too busy doing nothing to ask if i needed help so i left and placed my order with an online retailer. Enjoy getting paid for doing nothing while you can because when guitar center closes this underperforming store you will be able to do nothing full time for free.
14. Guitar Center
Address: 15 Backus Ave, Danbury, CT 06810 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Friendly staff and always get referred to cooler selections of guitars.
Amazing place overall, the employees really help me make a wise selection, and don’t just push you to buy whatever makes them the most profit. I have not had a negative experience here. Plus, the guitar lessons have really helped me get better at guitar. Will definitely come here for anything guitar related I need.
Ordered online for pick up in store. The process was easy and ready when I arrived. Staff was very helpful with my additional questions that u had for them as well.
Staff is very helpful.
A wide variety of instruments at dinner decent prices
Smaller the the Guitar Center that I’m used to, but it’s great to have one nearby.
This isn’t my first not-so-great experience at this Guitar Center. Today there was a non service-tagged animal in the store and while an associate did try very hard to help my try out a Fractal Audio Rack FX preamp, there was apparently no power amp available to use so that I could here. It’s a shame because I’ve never had an opportunity to try one of those before but I wasn’t going to drop $1000+ on something I couldn’t here first.
If I could give negative stars I would. I waited 10 days for this item I bought used from the guitar center website and actually called the store in Danbury, CT where a condescending man-child with an English accent assured me the item was in mint condition. They shipped it across the country in the original packaging with no bubble wrap, protective box, or anything that would protect it. The unit was rattling around in the box when I picked it up. Upon opening it I found that every side was broken and it was covered in some sort of sticky substance. I don’t appreciate being lied to, having my time wasted, or this incompetent attempt at shipping an expensive item I spent my hard earned money on. I’ve spent thousands upon thousands of dollars at guitar center. Unbelievably incompetent…
I visited this store for the first time on a Sunday. I was hoping to buy my first electric guitar. I walked around for about ten minutes, looked at a few guitars and no one bothered to approach me to help out and make a sale. I didn’t ask for help, because I was already intimated by the store and about starting to play electric guitar. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I won’t be returning to any Guitar Center stores.
15. George’s Music Center
Address: 905 New Harwinton Rd, Torrington, CT 06790 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
George has always given me great prices and service. I noticed all of the negative review writers didn’t list their names.
I had a good experience here. They let me try allot of the guitars out and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable. I’ve been rushed in other music shops, but they let me take my time here. I felt at ease. I Ended up buying a Ibanez. Would recommend coming for beginner guitars and more expensive guitars. They have a little bit of everything.
My son takes lessons here. They are the best.
If you’re not looking to go too far to get musical instruments. Look no further. Expensive though. But if you don’t care about prices, go for it. Not much of a selection though.
Nice shop
Meh
After going to this place; I must say I will never go back there again. The owner is so rude and disrespectful. Its not even funny. The owner needs get off his anthropocentric state of mind.
This place is just awful. The owner is so rude to us that i will never go back. We rented an instrument from him because our normal music store didnt have the instrument and when the instrument broke he said it was our fault and that it wasnt covered and then bad mouthed our local music store.
16. Greenwich Music
Address: 1200 E Putnam Ave, Riverside, CT 06878 , Alcanó , Connecticut , United States
Great place for personalized service, because their prices are not any higher than big branch music instument stores. Just wish he carried more guitar selections. But has plenty of guitar needs for anybody local to Greenwhich, that otherwise have to travel for an hr or more to get quality strings, picks, accessories, or even in a bind for a part. Save gas and go here. No pressure great staff! Call first if you have a question on a need.
If you live in the area, this is the best place to go. Joe is knowledgeable, caring, and just a great person. He has helped my three children with instrument rentals, purchases, repairs, and lessons for all my years in Greenwich. His staff is wonderful and are always happy to help. Please don’t overthink this one…just go see Joe at Greenwich Music!
It’s a nice place! It’s a bit small but otherwise it’s nice.
We were kindly helped in the store, but we were buying a guitar for our son and we don’t live in the US. We were having problems with internet so we couldn’t research correctly at the moment, but they assured that the amp could be used in 220 current. We arrived home and we connected the amp and it didn’t work. So the amp was burned. Apart from that the price was a bit higher than the same thing in other stores, it’s not nice to pay 50 dollars more, but that is just business and anyone can charge what they want. It was our fault that we didn’t do a good research before buying. But the very kind person that assured us that it would work because he used to be an electrician, and it only needed a basic adapter, was totally wrong and now we are home and we lost an amp, so we paid extra for the set and it didn’t work. You were very kind indeed, but please if you are not sure about something, don’t sell it. Because we lost money and we can’t go back because we don’t live there.
Terrible customer service. Called and said I would be by in 10 minutes for an emergency repair. Guy was nice on the phone. When I arrived 5 minutes early they had closed up and locked. Super helpful…
Their hours aren’t very convenient and I was having a guitar strung and I dropped it off and I didn’t get a call before the store closed and then they were closed the next day Sunday so I didn’t get my guitar until Monday and that was extremely inconvenient. They also have a very small selection of basses.Update, they aren’t even open a couple hours on the 4th of July so I won’t get my guitar till Tuesday I am very upset with this store.
Rudest customer service I have ever encountered. The man I spoke to on the phone yelled and hung up on me. When my daughter went in person to drop off the instrument for repair at the agreed upon time, he remained upset and kicked my daughter out of the store. Strongly encourage anyone looking to have their instruments fixed to look elsewhere. Disappointing experience to say the least.

Really great place for anything music. Went there to have my daughters violin checked and was treated great. Staff was knowledgeable and nice. They explained alot to me and also made some great suggestions for the future. We will definately be coming back. Great job.
Where else? Where else in the Danbury/Bethel area can you get all the music, Muzak, musique y musica Stuff and Expertise at all levels and for all genres that you may need?! Where, I ask you. Go ahead, try and tell me. But don’t try to tell me you’ll find nicer, more helpful staff than Sarah and Sophia and Juan and… Don’t even.
Knowledgeable professional staff and instructors.
Just stopped by quick. Had a great hour. They are the best
Instrument rentals are great for their prices
Good info from employees

Came here for some guitar strings and the employee was super awesome
My daughter’s piano teacher in East Hampton recommended this store for the purchase of a piano. Thank you Gil for your help selecting one of your pianos. We purchased our piano several days before Christmas as a gift for my daughter. As it can be challenging to find delivery at the holidays, the store owner went out of his way to deliver the piano personally on Christmas Eve. The piano sounds wonderful and my daughter was thrilled. Thanks for the excellent service, wonderful piano, and beautiful music that now fills my home.
Great service! Nice friendly owner
Very knowledgeable and friendly.
My daughter is signed up for lessons and her teacher is great (I hear the others are as well). Just try not to deal with the guy that owns it.
I tried to return my daughter’s Viola due to the school no longer providing classes. It was a total nightmare to get an answer in regards to my credit. They are very irresponsible and I am very disappointed by the lack of care towards my return which was even misplaced! Mom and dad are not helpful at all and he should really look at keeping them home, they make things worse!
Arrived at 10:00am (they open at 10am, but not today). I waited and they finally arrived. All I needed was guitar strings, but they had none. What a waste of time.

Service was amazing. My son plays contrabass and I don’t know much about the needs. The manager was really knowledgeable and helped us choose mid cost strings and a new bow suitable for a young but not brand new player. I appreciate that they didn’t do a hard sell with more cost than I was comfortable with right now. The things came in promptly. When we came in C. handled changing the strings and helping my son with the new bow. He was fantastic. I will continue to use their store! Really happy!
nice music instruments
Staff is always attentive and polite. Knowledgeable and helpful with any sort of question about an enormous range of instruments. Plus, my favorite, they aren’t just trying to sell you something ! Melanie M helped me and overall the experience was stellar! Thanks Melanie !
Limited retail space, but the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Music lessons are offered on site.
I have condensed my original rant down to the following- we really like our children’s teachers- but the front desk needs saving
Yeah it’s good!
The worst company in the world!!!! If I can give anyone advice it would be to stay away from this place. Their thief’s and I will never do business with them again.
Imagine spending your life blowing air into a piece of metal. Unbelievable
Being a Deaf mother of hearing 9 years old child that has no knowledge in music, I asked if this is drumsticks is good for him. This man just gave me a cold look and said I don’t know it’s fine. He was rude. Definitely not a Deaf friendly store for those Deaf parents with hearing child who wants to join the band.
