Wonderful music store. Have found most of my music books, supplies, and my Trumpet here. All the music stores in town are nice but this place is my favorite so far.
Very nice woman salesperson, I know very little about violins, and she helped me out great. Alot of everthing not just Pianos. Im very happy to be able to shop locally and not Amazon for music. Highly recommend this business. This store is approved by this Veteran.
Loved it. ORGANS pianos and string gear. Amazing selection. Inclined to the beginner and advanced clientele!
Nice and helpful staff, but they really only cater to higher end customers for guitars. Would be nice to see some options in the 200-400 dollar range or more used guitars.
Have lots of variety. Just not what I was looking for.
Great selection
Good selection of product but young lady working there lacking knowledge on anything gutar sure miss people who care about customers instead of there cell phones
worst place ever! refuses to honor their own contracts, discriminates against people with disability and people on social security! I got a rent to own instrument from them filled out the contract, signed it, gave them my card for auto-pay they charged my card for the first months rent. The next morning they called, first they said they needed more information and wanted the instrument back. I offered them another card but they refused. I went to talk to them with another card and a statement of my bank balance they still demanded I return the instrument, I said the contract said I kept the instrument unless I defaulted on the payments, the large man assisting me said the instrument was theirs until paid in full and if I didn’t return it they would “come and take it”. they did say they would rent me an instrument that was “not so nice” since the one my daughter picked out was “too nice for someone on social security” I felt threatened, humiliated, and degraded. I finally just paid for the instrument in full to get all this over with and not disappoint my daughter. Whatever you do don’t shop here.
Came in for a college textbook (Guitar class) and I got the too busy for you attitude from them. I wasn’t buying a piano.
3. Teton Music – Pianos & Sheet Music
Address: 3025 S 25th E, Ammon, ID 83406 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
Spencer is just absolutely incredible! I can’t say enough good things about my experience purchasing my first ever baby grand from Teton Music. Thank you!!
Excellent customer service and great selection!
My wife and I were very pleased with the restoration work that Spencer was able to accomplish with the keyboard on our 100 year old Farrand grand piano. His price was very reasonable considering the amount of work it took for him to make the improvements and repairs. The piano looks and plays much better than it did before. We may have him return in the future for some additional work the piano still needs.
Set up a appointment for a piano tuning for 01/27/2023. I waited a month for this appointment. The day finally came and they no called no show and I even call the store to. I waited till next week again to try and contact them and still can’t get ahold of them. I do not recommend this place for piano tuning.
4. Holiday Barn & Thrift Store
Address: 105 Bannock St, Malad City, ID 83252 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
This is a thrift store set up like a boutique and is kept very clean with many treasures. A delight to visit the owners are friendly and helpful.
So many things to look at…tons of jeans…can’t walk out empty handed.
The person who runs it has great personality.
Really nice lady who owns the store. It’s a Thrift store btw. And it’s wonderful how she decorated the store for what feels like the holidays. She even had hot apple cider you can take with your before you freeze outside. That was really good.
Now, let me say this first. We didn’t know there was a yard, with…. Just. ya know, a lot more stuff. So remember that. Because there are quite a lot of things on shelves and display pieces that are not for sale. That onr much be interested in. But they just add to the homey feeling.
The stuff she has… Well, I think that a lot of it is specific to just a few people, but there’s something for everyone. I bought a shirt and some pants for my son, a few electronics, different cables and such. Also grabbed an old version of ‘Guess Who’. Hahaha
But If you love thrift stores, and are in the area, or just want to go thrift shopping. Or looking for something to do. Definitely hit this place up.
5. Sweet Repeats Thrift Store
Address: 60 Bannock St, Malad City, ID 83252 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
The late-night staff were very nice, and helpful! Concerned I’d been up driving to long, and asked me to take a coupl hours nap in the parking lot, before hitting the road! How nice to see down home hospitality, and genuine concern at 3:30 am, when most places you gas up just want you to not speak, and just leave. Great place to stop and eat, clean-up, and Fuleup! Gas is a GREAT PRICE HERE!
Good place
Easy in and out. Nice and clean
Again I love flying j
Was clean and friendly no wait for fuel
I really love the snack and food thk
The showers are in good condition. But expect to wait over an hour to get one. Also no hot water. I was very dissatisfied.
Lucky Coke drinkers. They got rid of their regular fountain machines to install the new Coke only fun machines. Way to alienate the Pepsi drinkers. Thanks Flying J. I guess I know where i won’t be going anymore.
Coffee maker broke
7. Mainstream Music
Address: N Yellowstone Hwy, Pocatello, ID 83202 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
We are so thankful for Travis! He truly came to the rescue with our piano. We had another piano company move and fix our piano…They did not fix it. THey wouldn’t call us back after we left multiple messages for them. TRAVIS came into the situation and completely solved every problem from the previous piano company. He fixed our piano, tuned it and made us a permanent customer. 🙂
9. Gig’s Music
Address: 611 N Orchard St, Boise, ID 83706 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
Locally owned and operated music shop, with an in-house fully-equipped recording room that you can reserve to throw down some high quality tracks. Great place to go if you’re looking for new or used gear
Andy was super friendly and helped me record my very first recording.
Just a cool guitar shop with cool people and a great vibe.
Good shop. Needs more stuff.
Great help and service. Instruments were priced Right and in great condition for being used.
The store is small, and the selection of instruments is not exactly large. Chances are, you’ll only find between 3 and 5 bass guitars for sale. There is usually an adequate amount of electric guitars to browse through though. Also, a fairly good selection of acoustic guitars. And, you’ll probably find some other instruments, like cigar box guitars, ukes and banjos.
If you are looking for used instruments and good deals, I think Gigs is worth visiting.
Andy, the store’s proprietor, is friendly, quite helpful, and easy to talk to. Several musicians I’ve talked with say he is a very good guitar tech.
There are one or more guitar teachers working there. I heard one was quite good, but I can’t remember his name, sorry. The teacher or teachers work with both adults and kids.
The worst thing about the store is sometimes people smoke in there. I don’t like being in an enclosed environment in which people are smoking. I tend not to stay long when I smell cigarette smoke. That’s just nasty, and discourages business.
If this store sold more bass guitars, and if no one ever smoked inside, I’ve be giving Gigs a 5 star rating instead of 4.
Talented man with music skills. Awful business techniques.
Egh. A big, mostly empty space filled with pawn shop guitars, dusty packs of new old stock strings, and rack gear from 1991.
Stood there for almost 20 minutes waiting for the staff to get off of their “smoke break”. Then ignored for another 20. Then blown off for an additional 40 minutes.
Won’t be doing business there again.
10. Boot Lane Vintage
Address: 75 N Main St, Malad City, ID 83252 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
My husband and I stopped in and found a ton of really neat stuff, if you’re passing through Malad you should absolutely take the time to pop in. I found a gorgeous candy dish. The prices were more than fair and the lady who was working was lovely and kind. We really enjoyed our little visit!
11. Rick’s Music
Address: 915 W Flamingo Ave, Nampa, ID 83651 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
Rick is really nice and his personal service to customers is the best.
Rick worked on an old Fender F-3 acoustic guitar that I had just purchased from Pawn One in Caldwell. I needed him to check the truss rod and lower the action a bit and he did a great job for a reasonable price. I recommend Rick to anyone who needs work done on their guitars.
A good place to buy music gear especially used gear at a very fair price. You will find Rick to be a helpful, pleasant person.
I had Rick set up my guitar. He did a Fantastic job. Fast and reliable. One day service. I would Recommend him all who needs guitar service. AAA++++
Rick is a great guy, and there’s always a gem or two hanging on the wall. Good prices, too!
Last Saturday I took my most prized possession to Rick, I paid to have a set up and new strings put on my Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute pro. When I got it home I pulled it out and wanted to play it. I noticed right off the bat that Rick took a Utility knife or some other tool and shaved off the binding all around the fret board The fret board has gouges all the way around and the frets stick out and gouge your fret hand when you try to play it. My guitar is completely ruined! I haven’t slept in several days I’m so pissed. I in no way implied, asked for or mentioned that he do this to my guitar. I can’t even open the case it makes me so sick! I would not recommend Rick to anyone again. Rudy Rodriguez Nampa Idaho
12. Top Stop Chevron – Malad City C35
Address: 295 50 St S, Malad City, ID 83252 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
Great service, the older ladies that we’re running the store at the time I stopped by we’re very very nice.
Grant the catchier gave us exceptional service. We were about to pay $1.50 for cups to spit our sunflower seeds into, but when he realized what was going on, he made us makeshift cups instead saving us the additional cost. More than I would have expected from a cashier.
Additionally, the gas at the Chevron was the cheapest on our route from Utah to Idaho Falls. It was cheaper than all the other gas stations nearby, and at other freeway exits.
It should also be noted that the convenience store was about as clean as normal and offered all the things we would have wanted.
Neat and clean. Good customer service. Thanks Chevron
Clean Friendly service
As clean as you can expect and the bathrooms were stocked well. Plenty of snacks and with a Burger King attached you could get something to satisfy the fast food lover on your soul. The music was really loud in the bathroom. This is fine if you are at a rave but the bathroom at the Top Stop in Malad is not where I wanna get down.
I have been to it.
Golly gas is a 10 cents more expensive than across the street. They got me again #oHbob saget
I am a local from around the valley and I am not happy the least bit with the Burger King side.every time we go in there to order suasage biscuits they are out,yet never tell you while ordering always after waiting for your order then to be told.the last time it happen the manager was working and yet did not inform employees about it like a manager should be,I just think it’s the fact they are lazy and don’t want to have to make up any more for this to be an ongoing problem. Just as if they did run out like they claim every time I stop in.then why is it that no one is fixing the problem or back ordering enough so they don’t run out. All I can say is the Chevron top stop in malad,Idaho is the worst Burger King I’ve ever delt with and I will never go back again.just as the manager there was not professional about how it all got handled either and we happen to be general management over stations in Idaho therefore know the business of running fast food as well and keeping customers happy.
They guy here is not friendly
13. Dunkley Music
Address: 3410 N Eagle Rd, Meridian, ID 83646 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
I recently decided to try and learn how to play the piano. I did some googling and found Dunkley. When I first went in, I was introduced to Rich. Rich ran me through a variety of things to consider when purchasing a piano for a beginner. I did some research on my own, and ultimately went with a recommendation he made, the Korg B2SP, and I could not be happier! I went back soon after to look for some learning materials and was met with exceptional service from a few employees who were all nothing but kind and knowledgable. I especially appreciated Melody, who has gone above and beyond by reaching out directly to their brand reps in order to help me obtain online music lessons. I also am currently speaking with one of their piano teachers to begin lessons. I couldn’t be happier with their services! Would highly recommend!
My family and I have been really happy every time we go. Everyone is very nice and helpful. My children are currently taking violin and piano lessons with them.
Dunkley’s has always been my music store. The repair shop is excellent and Lisa is the one I trust my slide work to.
I have bought a Kawai CN25 from Marion in a total of sale price of 600 plus 13 month renting period. Ends up with about 1645 U.S dollar. I am really happy with what I’ve purchased. And Marion is very nice on settling the deals with me.
I enjoy DM very much. It’s so much fun to look around to see all the instruments they have in-store. They had the gift I was looking for (and then some). Someday, I’ll take those violin lessons. For now, I’m saving up to get myself that keyboard bench.
Good selection, helpful staff.
The Nampa location is great. Helpful, knowledgeable, experienced. I brought in a violin i bought, and wanted it checked out. So it was sent to their luthier, a fella called “Rand”. This dude needs social interaction lessons. What a rude, short tempered jackal. If you like being talked to in a demeaning and belittling way, have your string instrument looked at by “Rand”. If you like normal, socially accepted treatment, avoid Dunkley or, more precisely, Rand.
My wife, son, and I went to Dunkleys to do a little piano shopping as we had sold her piano a few years back and have now moved into a new home and have space again. Spent 10 minutes walking around looking at the various options without so much as a hello from anyone working there. Noone seemed overly busy but neither did they seem interested in helping us. Love supporting local but if you do not want my business you will not get it.
Staff have very poor customer service skills, their attitude was down right rude. My issue was not resolved- despite being a customer for 8 years. It seems loyalty no longer matters to Mark Dunkley.
Amazing service. The people here are so personable and knowledgeable. Been going here for years and if I have a problem with their work I tell them and they make it right
Awesome place! Super friendly, knowledgeable staff.
I need a trumpet mute and I don’t know if Blue Rider has one! Can someone help?
Helpful staff! They got my son’s trumpet soldered and shined!
17. Gotcha CarAudio-G.C.A
Address: 391 S 1st W St, Preston, ID 83263 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
This guy is a professional. If you want to know that not a single step was skipped throughout your installation this is your man. Exceptional bargaining skills and fair deals
Victor is very talented and passionate about his work quality and his passion for the music industry of car audio. i have found him to be very helpful and knowledgeable about his business. I’m most impressed with his work ethic and the quality of his cusom installation of your preferred music equipment. and the most important thing is that he’s willing to come back if at a later time if your having trouble with the equipment he’s backing his work and getting you back to enjoying the installation experience. looking forward to having him do more work on my other vehicles
Victor was great to work with. Top notch quality work.
18. Burt’s Music & Sound
Address: 1123 Sherman Ave, Coeur d’Alene, ID 83814 , Oneida County , Idaho , United States
Been doing business with Burt’s since the 1980s. They are awesome!
They are wonderful. Gary restrung my violin for my niece to use for school the next day right away while I was in the shop. Wonderful customer service and very knowledgeable about their business. Would not reccomend any other music store in the area.
I want to give Gary Ross a big thanks for working his magic on my old worn out Oscar Schmidt. I had no idea it could look so nice and sound so great!
Just short visit. Looking for a smaller guitar ( accoustic). Found several. Nice selection. Staff very helpful.
The music store to go to!
Low on inventory
Staff helped, but it felt like I was bothering him. The only instruments for sale were on consignment. They had a few new instruments mainly guitars and bass. It was darkish. This wasn’t the music store I remembered has a child. And it breaks my heart, at least they had a flute cleaning rod that I needed.
Two people there. One was great and full of advice the other made us feel like we had no business being there because we weren’t master musicians. I will take my business and money elsewhere.
I have been a loyal customer and supporter of this local business for years. However my experience there for the past several years has been less than satisfactory. I have been made to feel as if I were a nuecense there by one of the shop owners I believe.
Unless this man is just a disgruntled employee which is the vibe that he puts out each and every time I have been there during the past several years.
I have never gone there only to browse and play instruments. I only go there to purchase musical items and support local business as I strongly believe in doing so being a small business owner myself.
This man puts out a vibe so foul and offensive that I vowed not to patronize this place ever again solely because of this.
This man acts as if he’s been awakened by a door to door solicitor at his home each and every time I have shopped there.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, and I will probably make this complaint known elsewhere so that the local public can be aware.
If one is either a proprietor or an employee at any establishment where intimate customer service is the foremost priority and that individual is vicious and repulsive with an obvious disgust for customers than they need not pursue that career any longer.
I have shared my honest feelings about this. THANK you for the platform
