This is the place to go for anything related to the accordion. Mike Aman has played the accordion for 70 years and is an amazingly talented musician. He designs custom Monarch accordions and has them manufactured to his specifications in Italy. He repairs and rebuilds accordions of all types and can also supply any accessories you need (straps, pick-ups, amplifiers, etc.). Probably best of all, Mike and his wife Margie both teach the accordion. I have studied a number of different instruments over the years and consider them to be the finest instructors I have met. They are both extremely accomplished players who can effectively transfer their knowledge to students. They teach in person and online and have students all over the country. We are extremely lucky to have them in the Denver metro area.
A great resource. Thanks for the joy you have given our family though our accordion!
I could not give more of a recommendation. Mike and Margie are incredible musicians and people
I’ve bought an accordion here and also taken lessons from Margie. So lucky to have such an authentic studio and great instructors

Work fast and Ethical bo time wasted for right to it great prices would recomend ‼️
4. Guitar Center
Address: 8601 Sheridan Boulevard G, Arvada, CO 80003 , Thornton , Colorado , United States
Sean was fantastic. He answered every question I had (and there were many) thoroughly and with enthusiasm. I’m brand new to guitar and I was a little intimidated to come into the store. I left feeling comfortable with my final decisions and that I got good value for my purchases. I recommend Sean for sure!
Great service! Guitar Tech Andrew re strung and cleaned 2 guitars and fixed the input on 1 guitar in a hour flat. Thanks again
Loved it.Got my son a starter guitar kit.We will be back soon ti get the real thing.
Muy buen servicio y muy bien surtido.
Nice place. Salespeople are helpful and not pushy. I buy most of my recording equipment there.
Great selection of guitars too unless you are left handed like I am. The lefty selection is for beginner players only. Maybe 3 instruments in the entire store. That sucks. I had a wallet full of cash too…
They always have what I need and the people here are helpful.
I took my 7 string floyd rose in to get it setup with strings after not playing it for a while. It takes them 4 days to get it back to me, and it’s not even in tune.
They have had my mandolin for almost 5 weeks for a broken bridge. I have been given several excuses and “there’s nothing we can do”. No apology or logical reason. Do not take an instrument here for repairs…still waiting..5 weeks and apparently they don’t have the part in stock still. Unbelievable.
Was going to spend quite a bit of money but not one employee was available for over 30 minutes. Not even a “hold on a second we will be there shortly”. Poor customer service and a stereotypical chain retail store.

I love it so much it is very fun.
Janice is super nice.
I just love going there it is the BEST piano school in world.
If there were more stars I would do them all.
My family has been going to Ms. Janice for piano lessons for 10 years (we have three girls now aged 17, 15 and 7). My girls have loved taking lessons and showcasing their skills at the yearly recital. They have learned a lot and we all really love her!
Janice is not only a very experienced and talented piano teacher, but she also works to build strong and positive relationships with her students. My son loves going to his piano lessons, and loves to practice at home too! I am so pleased with my son’s love and appreciation for music, and for his ability to get out on the stage to perform in the recital each year. Janice has helped and inspired our family in many ways!
8. Gravity Music Gear
Address: 6487 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80221 , Thornton , Colorado , United States
Friendly staff, great prices compared to the big box stores..
Thanks for the strings!
Really didn’t’ have what I was looking for so I had to go to the guitar center they had pretty much everything
La atención es buena , pero no ay quien te atienda en español y les falta un técnico para probar el equipo que están vendiendo
Limited selection, but good service, solid prices.
Like a previous comment before they act more like a pawn shops then a Music Store
Staff not to friendly with Mexican clients
Called up gravity on the phone to see if it was worth my time to drive out. They wouldn’t give me an offer over the phone but said I wouldn’t be disappointed.
Loaded everything up my in car and they quoted me about 25% of what everything was worth. Huge waste of time. Probably easy cash if you don’t know what your stuff is worth. Offered pennies for my brand new moog grandmother.
Phenomenal work, great turnaround time, and great communication throughout the process. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking to get amp repairs done!
I took my JCM 800 to Tommy at Filament Amp Works to have it re-tubed, biased , and checked thoroughly. Tommy diagnosed the issues and communicated his plan to address them to me quickly. The amp needed all new capacitors due to it’s age, new tubes (power and pre-amp), and a bias; plus a couple of small issues with the channel switching jack shorting. The communication throughout the process was 100% straight forward and much appreciated. The pricing was a value; I paid exactly what he quoted me after the diagnosis and was happy as it felt right. Not hyperbole: the head makes absolutely zero noise that in not intended. No micro-phonics, no popping, hissing, etc… It plays and sounds so good it’s amazing.; it’s better than new. Skilled, thorough, straight forward… My go to from now on…
So glad I brought my amp here. It’s 20 years old, and now it sounds brand new! Super good service. Thanks, Tommy!
Brought a couple amps and a cab for Tommy to fix, and told I just needed them running. The first amp only required a couple tubes and a cap replaced. I pay for the parts and he hits me with a $500 labor bill (on top of $200 in parts) without even consulting me first. He did a bunch of unnecessary work, basically a refurb, without consulting me. I hooked him up with a bunch of studio time a few years ago, and he repays me with an outrageous bill that I didn’t even ask for. I wouldn’t trust him at all.
10. Music & Arts
Address: 7350 W 88th Ave Suite B, Westminster, CO 80021 , Thornton , Colorado , United States
These guys were great! My son joined band this year and we needed to get him a saxophone. I was frustrated from talking to other music stores. When I called I talked to Patrick on the phone, he was knowledgeable and polite. My son and I went into the store to purchase the saxophone we talked about. I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything. When I asked about additional itemsI felt like everyone went out of there way to help get them and make recommendations. I wasn’t left to figure it out myself. They talked to my son and made him apart of the process. We will be going back in the future for our music needs.
My granddaughter’s violin was given to ger for Christmas and was not put together. So when we took it to them to get strung she was great n tried but unfortunately the bridge was not the right one. But we appreciate the effort to try to make it work. Thanks again
Was able to buy a great violin
Organized and clean nice staff they don’t buy instruments
I am a music teacher. This is my go to for lesson books for my students.
At 12:47pm today I visited your Arbor Village
7350-B West 88th Ave store in Westminster Colorado. I purchased a new set of violin strings and paid to have them restrung on my instrument. I was told it would tae 10 minuets, but it ended up taking 40 minuets which isn’t the issue. The employee who restrung my violin clearly had no idea what she was doing. During the final tuning after the new strings were on, she moved the strings in a poor way and the bridge popped off. She said it was because my violin was “cheap”. After fixing the strings and tuning it again she moved the strings again and the bridge came off, again. Now she finally asks the man working behind the cash register to tune it, and he does without any issues at all. Once its finished she tells me that the bridge is warped and that I need a new one. Its supposedly going to cost me $58 and require my instrument to be in a repair shop for two weeks. I can promise that my bridge was not warped when I stepped foot in that store. The lady who restrung my violin ruined the bridge and possibly ruined the entire instrument itself. I am beyond upset and know I will not trust this company after today. Your employee damaged my instrument and is telling me that I have to pay with my own money to repair their damages. I cannot use words to explain how infuriated I am.
Walked in, no hello, no what can I help you with. Walk over to case where violins are which is right in front of the 2 men and I guess I must have been a ghost because I wasn’t acknowledged. So not even going to waste my time.
The person that restrung my guitar did the whole thing wrong and he was saying he knew how to do it and we spent $30 on this and it wasn’t even done correctly he said he knew how to work on guitars but he didn’t even know which way to turn the tuning knobs
11. Monkton Guitars
Address: 1505 W 1st Ave A, Broomfield, CO 80020 , Thornton , Colorado , United States
This is a great shop with some serious merchandise. The staff were both cool and knowledgeable. Shout out to David for the banjo strings
David and Dave were great! They are friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to share what they know. I felt no pressure to buy any specific guitar. They were only interested in finding the right instrument for me.
Monkton has a great selection of guitars with a wide number of brands. More so than other shops that I visited in the area. 10/10 I highly recommend!
I took my Strat to get a tuneup here and had a great great experience. My Strat plays like new, I traded some gear, and walked out with a Blues Junior. Dave and his staff were so easy to work with. I can’t say enough things about them or the shop. I’ll be going to them exclusively for all my guitar needs. Go check ‘‘em out.
Best shop around!
great place to try and buy, they know their stuff and are super nice and willing to help you find what you’re looking for. they have great recommendations and will let you play whatever for however long. very cheap for repairs and guitar work, much cheaper than other places. got my frets leveled/crowned and it sounds fantastic, however they did kind of gauge/scratch the neck on several frets. sucks, but not a huge deal as it’s not a high end guitar and the price was right ($60). again, sounds great but i would be weary of bringing a higher end model in as they weren’t very careful about taping off the neck to avoid cosmetic damage.
do not take your guitars here for repair! simple jobs will end up being 2 hours in labor charges. they will take your working guitar and send you home with a non-working guitar. they will mix up the wiring on the pots. they will give you pots too large so your knobs have a huge gap underneath. unbelievably unprofessional and incapable.
EDIT: The business response is not a fair respresentation. First guitar, volume pots wired backwards. Second guitar, repair only lasted the car ride home. Second fix only lasted the next car ride home. Third fix, incorrect tone mapping and too large of pots. Every single trip a problem. Why would I go back?

Good service , very nice employees. Kris she will do her best to work with you . Best pawn shop I been too . I would recommend stopping by a checking it.
Very friendly and helpful staff helped me with what I need and was quick I really appreciate the staff
Thank you again to Jose and kris
I love this pawn shop Jose and Kris are awesome and always help me out when I come here
Only issue is the fact we can’t pay loans or extend online or over the phone. Had to be done cash and in store only.
Skip this place. What a joke charging over retail for a ps5 in 2023… like it’s literally for sale cheaper IN STOCK at Walmart, target, and GameStop. This place ought to go out of business.
If Michael focused more on his job then his baby hairs this place would be better.
Jose is a scam artist will not be back because of him
Fantastic facility with amazing vintage gear! It’s run by a multi-platinum record producer who knows how to get the sound you want.
In 1988 I was in a local group called, “Creativedge” and had the fine opportunity to record at Avalanche. This is a World Class Studio commissioned by many Major Label Recording Artists, some of which were my favorites! The studio has an exquisite layout and artful design and I instantly fell in love with the soundboard and amazing control room. I could not believe how incredible my drums and everything else sounded here! Really great experience and the best of memories!
My singing has improved so much in only 3 sessions. I would highly recommend taking singing lessons with her because she is very knowledgeable and will definitely help you become a great singer.
What a rare find, If you are a pro or a first-time music maker. Lessons at a flat rate you pick your instrument, wow. When you are good the right instrument makes it sound so much sweeter. The is the history of their collection is legendary. CJ and the staff know their stuff like very few.I can now get a 10% discount with my 25Score card. Sweet!
I woul recommend my teacher to anyone looking to learn to play music young and old. He is extremely passionate about music and continuously never fails to inspire me.

Very friendly and helpful! Great selection of all kinds musical instruments!
Informative and helpful. I couldn’t recommend them more.
Best music shop in CO! I’ve used them as my main music shop since my parents got me a viola in 4th grade and a saxophone for 6th grade. They’ve been with me through high school marching band and jazz band, and even now as an adult hobbyist. Can’t recommend them enough! Great service, advice, and repairs for all sorts of instruments and my artistic phases over the years!
Buenos instrumentos ..atención buena
I was looking for cd’s and they have a great choice.
I like them they’re great, gave us a good price on our rental.
The Customer Service is terrible, and when i go in to buy things and look around they look at me like if im stealing and it does not make me feel welcome there
I had to get my youngster a cello for the summer. I figured with this one so close I’d try them. They let her try it a second, and went off while she was testing. She liked it. So I said yes. Sale made. Here’s the kicker. I came in and was looking at a guitar for my house, a drum, she needs sheet music (we couldn’t find anything other than xmas music and was just pointed in that direcrion) she needs a tuner, and a sheet music stand. I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT HER ANYRHING, if someone had sold it to me! I have 3 other children who play either play or want to play, stand up base, and viola and one wants to play drums. But without help, I rented a cello, bought her some rosin and we will find another place for our music haven.
As for the cello…. one of her strings won’t stay in tune and is driving her a little crazy!
Around 2 weeks ago(beginning of February 2020), I brought in my brand new guitar into this shop to have a pro setup done. I trusted this company would do good work and was really excited being this is the first setup I have ever done. Unfortunately I had to call in to get my own updates when the guitar would be ready and would be even more disappointed upon picking up my brand new guitar up. I received the guitar back damaged. There was a chip by the tuning pegs and a crack on the back of the body of the guitar. I was very upset and the shop did not offer anything to make the situation better. I had to go through the manufacturer (thank goodness for warranties)to get my guitar replaced and now I’m out $65. I would not recommend. Enter at your own risk…..
