The purchase was quick and the prices were amazing. 10/10 would recommend!
Great store, good chat with the owner, check it when you are next in town.
Good gut Eric
My son was in need of a flute for junior high band. They had a great price on a used one and were very knowledgeable. Thank you!
Zaful
Not much of a selection,,a lot of really low end pieced together mutt guitars and amps.
Tried very hard to engage counter man in conversation,,but he just preferred to sit quietly while I looked over tiny inventory…..guess I will keep looking for a music store.
2. Pete’s Music Center
Address: 425 Teegarden Ave, Yuba City, CA 95991 , Tierra Buena , California , United States
Just needed guitar strings.
Right as I walked through the door, two warm and polite ladies looked up attentively from their tasks, and one gently asked if she could help me find what I was looking for.
I answered and she swiftly glided to the appropriate section, quickly but clearly pointed out the entire selection available, and courteously left me to ponder my options.
How pleasant that was!
I saw the staff were attentive but I knew I could take my time and study my options. Being in the professional environment of a music store was a rare treat. I was glad for the chance to study the current products on the market, acquaint myself with the info on the packaging and refresh my knowledge of what to buy for various musical purposes.
And, as she adeptly rang me up and had to wait through 3 cards as we tried to find the one with the money on it, she was imperturbable and ever so pleasant, as was her coworker, a very pretty lady, who looked on while still continuing her own work, as if ready to lend a hand if needed.
This store is run by some seriously healthy and good spirited, professional people.
Kudos. Good Place.
Thank You, Pete’s Music
Your a really nice place to go for musical supplies.
I highly recommend.
Excellent repair
Pete is a great pro sound resource, this place takes care of so many teachers and students for instruments and support materials. Again the hours are cutback due to lack of help.
Pete’s has always been a cool, locally owned music store. Pete hires friendly staff who are trained well.
The store hasn’t had a lot to choose from recently, guitar wise. That may be due to the surrounding circumstances, as the guitar area has always had plenty of axes and amps to check out.
Not bad
I brought in my RW Jameson guitar that I’ve been playing for 3 years and the bridge had started to lift up off the body, posing a huge hazard. They charged me $80 to reglue the bridge and put on new strings, only for me to receive my guitar with glue oozing out from under the bridge, a few spots of it all over the body, they BROKE my saddle, and ruined the finish around the bridge as well. I took it back in and got a refund from Pete. Wouldn’t recommend going there with guitars
Pete was extremely rude. Poor customer service.
The owner’s response speaks for itself. I’m not a disgruntled ex employee let go by the business owner. I am a proud ex manager who quit, even after being begged to stay, because I have standards and ethics. 41 years in business where I managed the shop and the owner was no where to be found for almost half the time he had been in business. Every response to every review listed here on google was done by me up until I left in March 2022. I cared. The owner lies, trash talks, chastised me for years for having children, put down my co-workers based off his interpretation of their intelligence, as well as put many customers in uncomfortable positions by bringing up their dating life or mentioning the size of overweight women. I witnessed this all first hand.
My response to the owner. Do not insinuate I am a disgruntled ex employee. Leaving Petes Music is the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my family. It’s not my fault you’re bitter.
Original review prior to owners response: Change in management due to the poor working conditions and the staff being placed in uncomfortable situations due to the owner’s (Pete’s) behavior. The place is no longer what it was and has been the past 18+ years and I doubt it will ever be. I will frequent only to support my cello instructor and maintain my educational efforts with her.

4. The Musical Touch
Address: 950 Lincoln Rd, Yuba City, CA 95991 , Tierra Buena , California , United States
Great shop. Owner is laid back and does not hesitate to chat. Good selection of vinyl and CDs. Artwork and glasswork for sale. It may be cluttered but it’s inviting and feels like there are treasures just waiting to be found.
This place is awesome and the owner is very cool and hilarious, their pipes are beautiful and don’t break easily.
Stopped in to look for some vinyl to add to my collection, it’s a nice little shop and the guy working there (owner?) was very nice and helped look for a few things for me. They don’t have a huge selection compared to some record shops, but they had a lot of good stuff and it was all pretty fairly priced. The records were all fairly well organized and alphabetized, but the shop itself was a bit disorganized and crowded feeling. The incense was very strong so if you’re sensitive to strong smells it might be bit much.
Helpful staff always have cool finds just a smaller selection
A little crowded no room for a weel chair I don’t believe
8. TeamSESH:G*59Records:Dynmk by Michael Joseph Gant
Very awesome guy, very friendly and very knowledgeable!!!
This is obviously not a typical guitar store Caleb. This is a specialty situation you wouldn’t understand….. and I am a stranger, not affiliated at all.
Has no hours and is just a random house.
10. Skips Marysville Music Cafe

Skip and his team are great teachers. They know their stuff!
I was recommended by my neighbor that use to be a singer, I do visit and I highly trust the owner! He’s a real good instructor and is very honest in every aspect and handles his skills in a professional way! Must visit this place!! Thank you
Owner was very accommodating with all our requests. Great place.
Great friendly helpful people. Open mic night was great. Check it out.
They were technically closed but the door was open , ( had a young man on the drum kit ,3rd lesson and was coming along ) I introduced myself , Skip was very nice and accommodating .He informed me of open mic night , I’m looking forward to laying some southern blues slide guitar downtown!! Thanks for being so cool Skip. Your bro from Ga , Van
It’s small, but skip is always willing to help. Go check out live music, have a soda, buy a bass. It’s a pretty cool shop.
